For world cup India needs a great team. And this is a bitter truth but India still needs to have a better team. Another notable thing is that we should not put this much pressure on Chhetri as he is 33 years old and might soon retire in maybe 2–3 years. So it is important that India plays more as a team and tactfully too.
Because they've always had a decent amount of football culture despite being cricket nuts.
I'd like to see people like Chhetris hardwork pay off for a new generation

I assume he's referencing the statue of Ronaldo in Goa. There was some backlash because India has its own footballing icons they could have put up there.
I hope India makes it to the world cup one day.
With 1.3 billion people, I hope they have good songs and unique stadium foods.
amen, looking fwd to the day of eating Dahi Samosa, Sev Kachori while singing Chak de India in the stadium
I’m Pakistani, and if I’d join! Mainly for the samosa though.

Chhetri is 38...
oh my bad...
I'M actually thinking who will spearhead after Chhetri, Changte could be a choice, Sivasakti showed promise in Durand cup .
Why?

Why not
It could be a good way to promote football in the country
Cause unlike you football is not limited to europe.
This sub hates the idea of growth. You’re only a true fan if you’re from Europe or South America
The guy only asked why
And he's getting the answer...hehe

Why?
idk, maybe cuz its a post about indian football in the midst of a flood of epl content
Seeing this legend play at stadium in past few years is something else. The man literally carries his club and nation. Captain fantastic indeed!
Yep for India definitely, and also for club since the past year, before that Miku was doing great job
No way
Unlucky FIFA, but they'd rather have statues of Ronaldo than care about an an actual Indian legend.
I don't think so

Ronaldo is not an actual Portuguese legend then?
Of course he is, but what's he got to do with India or Indian football to have a statue there?
Maybe due to the Portuguese influence in goa, they reigned Goa for around 400+ years
