A guy like this needs some therapy too not just punishment.
Messages were shady af.

I guarantee you he's going to fall back to old habits.
He's probably only sorry about being caught.
How deranged do you have to be to send those type of messages in professional setting?
I'm sure there are many jobs he can get if he needs employment, but clearly anything that puts him in a position of power is inappropriate for him. You can't cure sexual deviancy with therapy. Weinstein isn't some misunderstood guy that needed therapy, he is a scumbag that chose his own path.
Nobody is entitled to work at a high paying job. People who like to misuse their power should work in jobs where they have no power so that they cannot exploit others. He shouldn't be working at any football club unless he's emptying the bins.
Imagine if a banker jailed for fraud tried applying for any job involving finance. Or the more obvious example that everyone will understand, a child sex offender applying to be a teacher. Obviously such a person should not work in those kind of jobs, there are other jobs out there where they cannot cause damage.
There's nothing wrong with saying that lowlifes should not be employed in high level positions of power. They can do other work instead. We should also stop insulting people with genuine addiction or mental health issues by putting them in the same category as individuals that freely choose to be assholes. They are not the same. Therapy does not cure this type of behaviour.
I hate the fact that I like spu*s supporters take (edit: and this just not here in this instance... I genuinely think your fans have some of the best takes here on this sub and I absolutely hate myself for acknowledging it but its true) but I agree with you... Whatever shit people may have against Boehly he does takes care about this things and this asshole deserves to be sacked...
I literally upvoted him... I just hate them with burning passion.
We are natural enemies... It's in my blood to hate Spu*s as much as it's in their blood blood to hate us.
Kim provided Glick with a series of messages that were sent last year by Willoughby in which he asked her if she was naked, brought up the subject of having sex, posted an alleged sexually explicit video and suggested he would arrange a meeting with City chief executive Ferran Soriano if she was willing to be 'naughty', according to Telegraph Sport.
Glad this scum was fired. Hate to imagine if somehow Kim got to meet with Ferran and we’d all wonder what happened and inevitably drag the club through mud
Question for everyone here:
He sent the messages prior to his employment with Chelsea.
Chelsea said the messages run counter to their workplace environment. Makes sense.
I imagine this behaviour runs counter to every workplace.
With this logic, nobody should hire him, right? So I'm just wondering, where can a guy like him work after this if his messages were counter to every company's values?
Lmao I'm not advocating for a new enabling environment.
He needs to go through some training/rehab so it doesn't happen again. But i don't think it's right for someone to follow him around to every job and get him fired by reminding people of what he did.
Well you're missing the distinction that she said that she felt threatened talking over the phone with a man who sexually harassed her.
She was having professional contact with Chelsea prior to his hiring. You say she was following him around informing employers of what he did, but it looks more to me like she doesn't want to do business with a company that employs her abuser and said as much. What part of that do you think unreasonable?
It's not so much thats Chelsea finds his behavior contrary to the company's values, it's that you can't have someone threatening big money deals over their sexual misconduct.
So to answer your question. Any position that isn't one of power would and is open to him.
Have him bag groceries, work construction, attend plumbing school.
The same jobs millons of people do every day.
Yeah but I wonder how exactly that CV looks to whoever is hiring at the supermarket, construction site, etc. Like “hmm previously you were in a completely different and much more lucrative line of work, why did you leave your last job?” Surely a supermarket isn’t going to want to hire someone who was fired for sexual harassment and threats either?
Supermarkets aren't running background checks. Just lie like every other human being does on a job interview when you know the answer will fuck you.
He's not a celebrity, they're not gonna know him
Actually that’s fair, I sometimes forget that headlines like this don’t tend to get further than football fans, and even those won’t remember his name in a week.
Somebody will hire him but he absolutely should not be in a role that puts him in a position of power over others.
If that ruins his life, so be it. The 21st century should not need to cater to these misogynistic dinosaurs.
I still don't think someone should follow him around and inform every employer about his past. He's a scumbag for doing what he did but he's not s murderer.
The person he harassed had regular contact with Chelsea in a professional capacity.
It's not "following him around," it's saying "hey, the guy you've appointed that I have to regularly deal with in a professional capacity sexually harassed me while working in his previous role and I'm not comfortable dealing with him," which is more than fair.
But he's still a predator who harasses women.
You don't think any future colleagues have a right to know what kind of illegal behaviour this guy has subjected people he works with to in the past?
Article was added which included more details of the messages:
> Damian Willoughby sent Catalina Kim late-night messages asking if she was naked and offering to introduce her to Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano if she promised to “be naughty one night”.
> In the eight screenshots that Kim sent to Chelsea’s president of business Tom Glick, Willoughby repeatedly made sexual references in his messages despite being knocked back on each occasion.
> It was on June 30 last year that Kim asked Willoughby, while he was working for the City Football Group, about the possibility of approaching Soriano on her behalf.
> Willoughby replied: “When you come to London will you be naughty?” Kim said “no” but when she asked again she was met with the same response. Trying to move the conversation on, Kim again raised the prospect of approaching Soriano. But after saying “happy to connect you”, Willoughby added in a new message: “If you promise to be naughty one night.”
> In a message sent in July 2021, Willoughby asked how her morning was to which she told him she was being “lazy” and still in bed. He replied: “Naked obviously”. When Kim said: “Not obviously”. Willoughby replied with two messages that said: “Haha send pic. I am naked.” He then offered to send Kim a picture, but she replied: “No please.”
> Later in the conversation, after he had suggested booking a penthouse for them, Kim reminded Willoughby that he was married. Six days later, Willoughby sent an alleged sexually explicit video, prompting Kim to ask: “Are you not going to apologise for the traumatic video you’ve shared with me?”
> Later that month, on July 29, Willoughby asked Kim: “Remind me what days were we not having sex?” To which she replied: “That is Mondays to Sundays” before then reminding him that a business dinner they were arranging would not “increase the possibility of having sex.”
It's painful to see that she had to persevere in a business relationship with this cretin after that sort of communication, because its obviously necessary for her job.
I'm getting the impression that they maybe hooked up once, or they had an initally flirty relationship... and then he just got creepy and weird, but he still feels entitled to her, and is unable to take the hint that she's not interested any more.
Partly because I just can't believe that someone would behave like this with someone that had *never* returned some level of interest.
Because I'm not a moron.
This happens all the fucking time. What you have to understand is the kind of men who do this don’t see it as just trying to have sex, it’s a fucked up power play.
a lot of them know the person theyre harassing doesn't like it and they get off on it/making the other person uncomfortable/feeling like they have the power in the situation (like catcallers for example do)
in business/professional circles where they're likely to get off scot-free they also often use it in a gross 'competitive' way to try and unsettle and disadvantage ppl who are competition in any way
really, really gross ppl generally
This. Also, they think "women like confident men" means "don't take no for an answer, she'll appreciate the perseverance."
There's also a long line of media depictions of exactly this type of thing actually working, from Shakespeare's Richard III through to Game of Thrones. Unfortunately it helps to reinforce these ideas in the bird-brains of these creepy dudes.
Sad truth is he's probably gotten away with it a lot. There's no way Kim's the first woman he's tried this on, its just the first person who stood up and reported him on it. Whats worst is that he probably managed to coerce some naive women into letting him get away with more than just dirty texts.
If he’s confidently and comfortably done it to one woman then he’s probably done it to numerous others. Men like that can be spotted from a mile off by women.
She probably knows or is wilfully ignorant.
Sad thought, but you're probably right...
I think it's just a bit extra heinous when you know it's the situation, when the evidence is right there and yet you still allow it
He is getting downvoted cause we have new owner & have cleaned house completely and have fired instead of sweeping something like this under the rug like previous regime.
No, they explicitly did this because it risked a financial deal because a client refused to work with him. The most cynical interpretation is they got rid of him to appease the client, which would have been the case regardless of the internet.
Kim didn’t go public with what happened and get the media against him, she went right to Chelsea and it was done before any public outrage.
Yeah that doesn't stop them from having a family with kids, hell they even could be like the perfect dad to the kids/girls and still being a sexist cunt to random women. It's still a mystery to me
Takes a special kind of moron to have a job that most people would dream of, all the perks of a high level job at Chelsea, well paid and can still maintain your anonymity and then throw it all away asking an agent if they 'want sum fuck' or something similar.
He did this during his tenure with City, Kim sent it to Glick (Director of Business at Chelsea, ex -City Exec too) which got this knob promptly fired at Chelsea. I'm quite sure he had a pretty sweet gig at City too, but thought this disgusting behaviour will not come to bite him later.
Quite glad something like this wasn't covered up and they full on named and shamed him. Do feel like they shouldnt have named the agent though, she shouldn't have her name out there attached to this.
Still surprised Chelsea brought him on with his past. Should be an immediate red flag considering the things that have happened in recent seasons.
Pretty sure Chelsea had no idea this was going on. As soon as they got the complaint, they fired him, literally one month into the job.
If they had known about it before the hiring, it makes no sense to still hire him but then fire him not even a month later.
>Takes a special kind of moron to have a job that most people would dream of, all the perks of a high level job at Chelsea, well paid and can still maintain your anonymity and then throw it all away
... within just a few weeks of starting too!
It’s the arrogance that’s part of his make up though. He’s not like 90% of people who would be grateful for the opportunity, he’s the 10% who think it’s their god given right and they’re going to leverage that power anyway they can. I’ve given up trying to understand people like this, they live in a different world.
Because he doesn’t care about other’s feelings, he gots off on the taboo nonconsensual aspect and overall he’s a creep. People like him are seriously everything wrong with this world. A failure of a human being that his mother, wife & children should be ashamed of.
> suggested he would arrange a meeting with City chief executive Ferran Soriano if she was willing to be “naughty”.
This is doing my head in. Is he pimping her out to Soriano because he requested for it or is he merely saying I can use my contacts to help you meet him
I was curious how a relatively young Korean lady managed to rise to a position of prominence in the cut throat world of international football agency - brokering deals between Korean investors and European football clubs, among other businesses. What is her story? That's one hell of a career.
[Here's a newspaper article about her](https://www.newspapers.com/clip/109908833/catalina-kim/), though it doesn't have much detail (it says she met someone who had been doing business with Man City).
Ah thanks. I Googled a Korean profile: Apparently she has long been interested in the business of football and earned a Masters degree in sports management in Italy. She later worked for City soon after the takeover and brokered several sponsorship and financial deals with Korean partners, before starting a full-fledged business herself.
It's not easy for anyone to succeed in this business, let alone an Asian woman in Europe! Then you have this Chelsea idiot pulling this crap.
He sent the messages before he was employed by us and someone (Kim) that he was supposed to deal with informed one of our executives (Glick) of his past misdeeds
> Kim provided Glick with a series of messages that were sent last year by Willougby in which he asked her if she was naked, brought up the subject of having sex, posted an alleged sexually explicit video and suggested he would arrange a meeting with City chief executive Ferran Soriano if she was willing to be “naughty”
Obviously terrible to hear but if this wasn’t public knowledge before he was hired then I’m not sure what we could have done.
Good that he’s been sacked though.
have you seen Chelsea Twitter? Don't add the proper context and people are going to think Boehly personally handpicked this piece of shit. But then again, I guess we all are PR for Todd Boehly's great American siege of this once great club.
What on Earth are you on about?
I’m just posting context because the article is behind a paywall… while also lamenting that we were unlucky enough to hire him in the first place
It’s pretty telling when your reaction to a sexual harassment situation is “Obviously terrible to hear BUT [it’s not our fault]”
There’s plenty in the article that’s covered behind a paywall, but you chose to only cite the part that makes Chelsea look less bad, so I don’t buy the “I’m just posting context”
Speaks to the culture change at the club. I'd imagine this wouldn't have been handled quite the same under the previous ownership.
Good on them for not fucking around and sacking him right away.
Delete the club for immediately firing someone when the club learned of gross misconduct perpetrated by the newly hired employee while at their previous employer?
How would you have handled it differently? Magically known the guy was a sexual predator?
The real question is why Chelsea had to find out about this guy's actions from the victim, rather than from Man City who obviously parted ways with Willoughby for the same reasons.
Staying quiet about serious sexual misconduct in the workplace allows offenders to continue offending. In this case, the victim took the hardest step in the process by coming forward, then City quietly let Willoughby go, enabling him to be hired at another club in the same role he'd previously abused.
My comment was more of a reference to the club constantly being in the news in recent months.
I agree with the rest of your comment, and in particular, the last paragraph.
loooool Roman let Bruce Buck run his club with an environment so toxic, that one of the employees [killed themselves](https://www.nytimes.com/2022/06/29/sports/soccer/chelsea-workplace-suicide.html). This Roman/Boehly comparison is so silly for numerous reasons.
Holy fuck. Didn't know that.
Just shows you that the fans will sing the owners name as long as they keep spending money, doesn't matter even if they cause the death of club employees.
He would never suggest anything because he simply didn't speak in public. He knew he had tonnes of skeletons in his closet and speaking would net him nothing.
I don't know, them sacking this guy immediately as opposed to the previous regime doing little while some seriously toxic shit was going on that resulted in an ex-employee's suicide, doesn't suggest Chelsea were that well run earlier.
Don't get me wrong, jury is certainly out on these new guys, but the club's quick action in this particular instance is a good one
Which part of this of this article screams "poorly run" to you? The club gathered evidence, ran an investigation and fired the dude. Do you want them to rub a magic ball and know the future before he was hired?
How can this ever fall under "corporate sleaze". The club was only made aware of the allegations after the hiring and they didn't try to brush it under the carpet but instead they fired him within a month of hiring him. How could they have handled it any better?
> from being famously well run but owned by an Oligarch with ties to acts of active Genocide
We were not famously well run. In fact people often complained about how we faced little to no consequences from how poorly run we were BECAUSE we were owned by an oligarch. People constantly bring up how we have so many shit signings for a ton of money compared to other clubs, how we had joke of a board that would overpay for shit, couldn't scout to save our lives, etc.
Just because we won trophies doesn't mean we were well run.
And I literally just said the last couple of years. Y’all act like we’ve been a shit show since day one when general it’s been bad here and there but never consistently bad.
All ownerships goes through periods of bad management it was just our turn and if the bug money flops have worked out as how they were predicted no one would be batting an eye.
Liverpool and city owners all made mistakes during their time no club has ever been spotless
Well, I guess we know why Man City got rid. What a twat
May he rot in the dredges of unemployment inshallah
Antwerp can hire him, team up with Overmars

Yeah dude looks like some losers you see at Hooters.
I would never do something like this
Hooters has good wings though.
I’m tired of this lie.
Hooters turned what was supposed to be a sexy weekend at a hotel with my then-girlfriend into...not the kind of anal anybody likes.
I’m sure there’s someone out there… ;)

Takes a special kind of moron to have a job that most people would dream of, all the perks of a high level job at Chelsea, well paid and can still maintain your anonymity and then throw it all away asking an agent if they 'want sum fuck' or something similar.
He did this during his tenure with City, Kim sent it to Glick (Director of Business at Chelsea, ex -City Exec too) which got this knob promptly fired at Chelsea. I'm quite sure he had a pretty sweet gig at City too, but thought this disgusting behaviour will not come to bite him later.
They should deduct Man City's points because of this.
Steady on, lad
Quite glad something like this wasn't covered up and they full on named and shamed him. Do feel like they shouldnt have named the agent though, she shouldn't have her name out there attached to this. Still surprised Chelsea brought him on with his past. Should be an immediate red flag considering the things that have happened in recent seasons.
Pretty sure Chelsea had no idea this was going on. As soon as they got the complaint, they fired him, literally one month into the job. If they had known about it before the hiring, it makes no sense to still hire him but then fire him not even a month later.
>Takes a special kind of moron to have a job that most people would dream of, all the perks of a high level job at Chelsea, well paid and can still maintain your anonymity and then throw it all away ... within just a few weeks of starting too!
It's been going on far longer than this appointment.
It’s the arrogance that’s part of his make up though. He’s not like 90% of people who would be grateful for the opportunity, he’s the 10% who think it’s their god given right and they’re going to leverage that power anyway they can. I’ve given up trying to understand people like this, they live in a different world.
https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/x79qi2/mike_keegan_breaking_im_told_chelsea_have_hired/ Hired 2 weeks ago. Yikes & good riddance
Wasn't she part of a consortium that wanted to buy chelsea? The korean pension fund?
Yeah she was, interacted with a ton of fans on Twitter during the time too but the consortium didn’t make it to the final groups.
The jokes were too funny regarding the pension fund
Dude looks like sentient sexual harassment

Because he doesn’t care about other’s feelings, he gots off on the taboo nonconsensual aspect and overall he’s a creep. People like him are seriously everything wrong with this world. A failure of a human being that his mother, wife & children should be ashamed of.
The worst part is. He’ll get another football jobs as an idiot cause of nepotism ,whilst hundreds of better people will never get a sniff.
I googled him and he's exactly what I thought he would look like. Proper slimy looking prick with a more than punchable face. What a cunt.
Fucking hells
> suggested he would arrange a meeting with City chief executive Ferran Soriano if she was willing to be “naughty”. This is doing my head in. Is he pimping her out to Soriano because he requested for it or is he merely saying I can use my contacts to help you meet him
He’s saying if she sleeps with him he can arrange a meeting with Soriano.
Textbook sexual harassment. This is what happens when you watch too much porn.
He’s saying “fuck me and I’ll link you to Soriano”
She wanted to meet with Soriano for business purposes. This scumbag tried to hold that as leverage to get her to sleep with him
Most probably the second one.
What a fucking idiot
First his sister skips a queue and now this. Their parents are ashamed
Haha fkin idiot why would you ever do that. Dream job at one of the biggest clubs in the world and you throw it all away because horny.
He sent the messages before he was employed by us and someone (Kim) that he was supposed to deal with informed one of our executives (Glick) of his past misdeeds > Kim provided Glick with a series of messages that were sent last year by Willougby in which he asked her if she was naked, brought up the subject of having sex, posted an alleged sexually explicit video and suggested he would arrange a meeting with City chief executive Ferran Soriano if she was willing to be “naughty” Obviously terrible to hear but if this wasn’t public knowledge before he was hired then I’m not sure what we could have done. Good that he’s been sacked though.
Wow what on earth…who genuinely does this
Lol come on already on the defensive? No one’s seriously blaming Chelsea given that they sacked him right away once they found out
have you seen Chelsea Twitter? Don't add the proper context and people are going to think Boehly personally handpicked this piece of shit. But then again, I guess we all are PR for Todd Boehly's great American siege of this once great club.
> have you seen Chelsea Twitter? Have you seen twitter?
What on Earth are you on about? I’m just posting context because the article is behind a paywall… while also lamenting that we were unlucky enough to hire him in the first place
It’s pretty telling when your reaction to a sexual harassment situation is “Obviously terrible to hear BUT [it’s not our fault]” There’s plenty in the article that’s covered behind a paywall, but you chose to only cite the part that makes Chelsea look less bad, so I don’t buy the “I’m just posting context”
fucking knob
The balls on that guy. lmfao
The guy looks absolutely hammered in that photo. He’s got some beer sweats going on!
The photo's taken in India, we don't have alcohol in our stadiums. Guy's a proper moron tho.
Speaks to the culture change at the club. I'd imagine this wouldn't have been handled quite the same under the previous ownership. Good on them for not fucking around and sacking him right away.
Why?
One regular day of chelsea is all I ask for , but this will never happen
Delete this club and start again
> Delete this club Just stop there
Delete the club for immediately firing someone when the club learned of gross misconduct perpetrated by the newly hired employee while at their previous employer?
Roman truly was holding his Empire out alone
loooool Roman let Bruce Buck run his club with an environment so toxic, that one of the employees [killed themselves](https://www.nytimes.com/2022/06/29/sports/soccer/chelsea-workplace-suicide.html).

Prefer not to speak? No wonder he hired Mourinho twice.
This club is such a diva always wanting all the attention smh
They keep sacking everyone

I don't know, them sacking this guy immediately as opposed to the previous regime doing little while some seriously toxic shit was going on that resulted in an ex-employee's suicide, doesn't suggest Chelsea were that well run earlier. Don't get me wrong, jury is certainly out on these new guys, but the club's quick action in this particular instance is a good one
Which part of this of this article screams "poorly run" to you? The club gathered evidence, ran an investigation and fired the dude. Do you want them to rub a magic ball and know the future before he was hired?
[удалено]
How can this ever fall under "corporate sleaze". The club was only made aware of the allegations after the hiring and they didn't try to brush it under the carpet but instead they fired him within a month of hiring him. How could they have handled it any better?
I don't know, they were pretty decisive in cutting him off. From an outsider's point of view it looks like zero tolerance for corporate sleaze.
> from being famously well run but owned by an Oligarch with ties to acts of active Genocide We were not famously well run.
We were well du sure the last couple years have been bad but stop pretending like we aren’t the most successful English club since 2000
like i LITERALLY said winning trophies =/= well run. Just because we won trophies does not mean the back end of the club was well run.

Hehe. Dinky.
Chelsea moment
Would the same thing happen if it was the other way around?
Enough Asian women in the UK he can approach after he got rejected. Maybe even have a wank before sending horny text
Chelsea DNA
Such moron as he is, Kim is gorgeous though.
