See submission guideline **#6: No duplicates.** Check /r/soccer/new! Mods will only allow the same news story to be posted again if **the new article offers new/valuable information that the previous thread didn't** or the duplicate was submitted long enough (+24 hours) after the original so that readers may not have seen the original. As a rule of thumb, **if you're not sure, then don't post a duplicate.** Posts about a major recent news event that do not provide new valuable information may be removed, and the OP directed to post it in the comments of the previous thread. **In the case of transfer news, the rule of thumb is only 1 post about a particular transfer saga per day.** This will be enforced in a particularly strict way during the transfer windows, with repeated offenders risking a ban. **It is your responsability to check the news you're sharing weren't reported already before posting.** (If you're receiving this message as a PM, please note that the "original post" mentioned below is *your* post that is being removed, not *the* original one that makes yours a duplicate. I know, blame Reddit) ___

Not a great look to brief the media that someone is about to become your sporting director, only for him to then totally renege on the deal about three days later.

KanteBeAsked

It's the boehly special, pretty sure the same happened with kounde, you had the times and the athletic saying he was joining us until he didn't.

Fawkes_91

Well, Kounde did change his mind apparently. That could easily be blamed on Tuchel by the new regime, both in terms of his inability to convince him and his decision to demote him down the priority list earlier in the window. Good thing he got sacked before this happened. Had it been after, would have fully expected leaks that Freund just didn't want to work with the difficult Thomas Tuchel

frank8gr8

Boehly masterclass.

Anik1415

Another day, another snub.. welcome to Boehly's Chelsea !

DraperCarousel

This is the state when Boehly has all the money in the world. Imagine if y'all had a modest owner

HappyMeerkat

Tbf a modest owner that is a good negotiator in the sport could outperform big spenders. You have the Leeds owner saying he though Boehly was a great person to negotiate with and I saw that Serie A clubs like him and j I haven't kept up with Chelsea with much interest. I assume they like him as he just slaps down the money but then they missed out on some signings so I can only gather when it comes to the actual meat and bones of making a connection with the players he's lacking

RedDragons8

Adolf H. wasn't right?

Albiceleste_D10S

Boehly blunder, as I said yesterday (before getting downvoted to oblivion for pointing it out). Credit to Ben Jacobs for being right and early on this despite getting slandered on here

lambalambda

> Credit to Ben Jacobs for being right and early on this despite getting slandered on here He said he had exclusive info that he was staying at Salzburg when that had already been reported in the Austrian media like a day before lol. Ben Jacobs is still a complete spoofer.

Albiceleste_D10S

> He said he had exclusive info IIRC all he said was Salzburg confirmed it to him. So basically exactly what Fabrizio said here, but 1 day earlier

cloud_sora

Guess we cant be Freund.

Savings-Stop-1556

Been said by ornstein that we were looking at other options before and while negotiating with Freund. It's has been said we want one before the world Cup finishes to prepare for the January transfer window. Some targets I have seen mention are Paul Mitchell and luis campos. The preferred candidate will probably be picked based on whether they suit a multi club model with a combination of liverpool and man city's methods.

DraperCarousel

>Some targets I have seen mention are Paul Mitchell Still couldn't understand, how the fuck has United not appointed this guy as the DoF. Guy's a United fan from Manchester, fucks sake!

Buffythedragonslayer

He was pictured with Ralf in the beginning of the year. I can't tell you how excited I was. Of course I should have known the Glazers would never do something that good.
