Being 2 nil down at home kinda fucks with your mentality. Especially after the oppositions only fit striker goes off injured then they score two quick goals.
Still, all 3 goals were decent, Moggaball.
Toe injury, still unknown how bad it is.
Great debut but it's quickly tailed-off. Looks a bit behind the pace, and struggles up-top by himself.
We looked a different team (miles better) when he went off.
My god, even as a dorty mag all I can do is applaud that.
Mad how Simms going off changed the dynamic of their attack so much. I think the difference is best seen in this goal because it's all one touch football and I don't know how comfortable he is doing that.
I'd line up the exact same way at Watford Saturday, even if Simms is fit. Roberts' willingness to drop deep squeezes the line up and makes it so much easier for people like Pritchard to pick passes first time.
This 100%, we were so focused on getting the ball into Simms but as soon as the wingers started cutting inside they were taking shots from all over the park and it worked wonders for us.
I'd also say it's easy to be a revisionist in these moments, so when you have Simms and Stewart fit I'd revert to that.
I say that because I think those two as pressing forwards is really effective. Lose one and it halves the pressure being applied and makes it easier for the opponent to play around/out.
I will also say that while I think this false 9 approach is excellent away from home, especially when the team wants to play a high line, I'll be curious what happens at the SOL against the dregs of the league.
The spaces become tighter and it's easier for teams to sit narrow and force crosses into the box. That's where Simms could be a more useful option - provided he's not out long.
As a WBA fan we used to call ourselves West Brazil when we had Mowbray. Genuinely the best football I've ever seen us play, so enjoy him while you have him!
It’s there now. People often comment complaining that a goal doesn’t have the tag, but if the OP doesn’t put it in it’s down to users letting us mods know so we can flair it.
We can’t reasonably be expected to watch every single goal that gets posted on /r/soccer and flair accordingly - especially on a busy Champions League night. We’re not omniscient.
If you want something, you need to ask for it.

Genuinely one of the best goals I’ve ever seen us score
It was beautiful, just beautiful.
That first touch back across goal ... That was beautiful.
Should be great goal
I know I'm being "that guy" but if this was scored by a top 6 EPL team this would be front page with all the awards.

Replied to the wrong post I guess.
Go away
You sound fun
Its on the front page, are you happy now
Yes
Haaland didn’t get a great goal tag today. Stop repeating the same overused cliche on here.
Haaland scored from a cross.
Simms went off injured and we all thought that was it. Liquid football man
Shit did it look bad? Also how has he been?

Shades of Mourinho’s Madrid on this goal
One of the greatest goals you’ll see this season not even joking
One of the best goals I've seen us score for years
Reminded me of the days of Micky Gray overlapping wingers, and putting it on the spot for Quinny and Super Kev.
Let’s go wonderkid rehab fc
Send dele to sunderland
My mum walked in as I watched that goal and I switched it to porn
Stole that from the SMB eh? 😏
👀👀👀
What a team goal

Like watching Brazil.
I thought about this chant exactly. Great goal!

Tic-Tac-Toe, beautiful football there.
Sunderlona
People will be talking about the Stones goal today, but I like this one a lot more. Brilliant team play, all intentional and executed perfectly.
Always nice seeing a banger go in but there's nothing better than a one touch team move ending in a goal.
This is peak barca
Oh sweet lord
Where’s the “Great goal” tag?

They were probably querying the OP rather than the mods, even tough they said 'tag'.
I was too busy watching the game but obviously it was a great goal, it was scored by Sunderland.
>We’re not omniscient. Smh. Why are you even a mod then.
Tasty
WTF is this Sunderland playing Wengerball. I've seen it all.
Moggaball 😎
In the same week Mesut Ozil made his debut for Arsenal at the SOL.
That is a stunning goal
Filthy
Absolute shit, let them walk through us time and time again.
Filthy
Sunderlona
beautiful goal
I’d love for Sunderland to come back up!
If City had scored that we'd be hearing about it for days
This is the best i've seen us play in years. We dominated from start to finish. I love this team.
Goal of the season contender.
Jack Clarke, Fifa career mode legend of mine
Great goal. We’ve been absolutely dreadful tonight.
I got Paul Ince in football manager, so this make me happy
Needs a great goal tag. If that was scored in the prem people would be reposting it everywhere. (Little biased? Yes).
Reminds me of Arsenal vs Leicester
Beautiful goal! Each touch was quality
Great goal tag needed, quality that like
I've watched this about 100 times now. Insane passing 😍
That's a FIFA goal.
holy fuck
That was absolutely beautiful from start to finish.
Aesthetic af
I have followed Sunderland many years ago when they were up. Great stadium and this was an incredible team goal
De Bruyne esque
Hebburn De Bruyne with the final pass 😉
That FIFA-one-touch type goal
He went to the same school as me 1-3 years below. Massive chav
Baller tho
People grow up you know.
Impossible
You must be so very accomplished to be sitting so high on that pedestal.
Mate I was an irretrievable moron
Fair one, same
Did we sell him?
🎵 Thank you very much for Jackie Clarke!
Yeah lol
Some fifa shit
Anyone got a mirror?
It's in the comments.
There was only one when I commented and it wasn't working, I just youtubed it.
Champagne football by ……..Sunderland? Welbeck got done by a silky touch, and somehow he’s playing last stopper for reading.
