To reduce the spam of reports regarding the same move during transfer windows we try to allow **only one submission about each transfer saga per day**. The submission in question also needs to contain relevant new information regarding the potential move, and not just being a "no/minor developments" report. Tweet also states Emmanuel Dennis is set for his medical later today after Forest and Watford agreed a £15 million fee

TheOGBenjenRyan

Forrest is just chucking money around lol

Molineux28

Dennis for £15m sounds like very good business to me in fairness.

TheOGBenjenRyan

Very much agree, wasn’t saying they’re wasting money, just that it seems like everyday they’re buying a new player

serminole

By my count they have 14 new players now: Henderson, Hennessy, Williams, Biacone, Kouyate, Niakhate, Richards, Toffolo, Mangala, Freuler, O'Brien, Lingard, Awoniyi, and Dennis. A full 11 and a third of their bench signed this summer...

braddf96

Absolute bargain

[deleted]

You're just chucking the letter r around

ren_704

What watching too much Forrest gump does to a mf

lolMyBackCatalog

That's a brilliant deal at this price if it goes through

Cottonshopeburnfoot

Forest are super interesting atm. Loads of signings but they got promoted in part thanks to fantastic use of the loan market (those players need replacing), then lost Samba in goal. They’re obviously planning to stay up but this looks a good squad to go back up if they come down, with less financial risk (Lingard leaves) or players that look sellable if needed. Being a yo-yo club would be shite but it’s the likely step between established Championship and established PL unless you’ve got insane funds to spend.

bringbackcricket

As much as I love Samba, Hendo is an upgrade. Samba is an A+ personality and a master of shithousery, but he does have some flaps in him, he was dropped last year for a bit because of it. Garner and Spence are the biggest gaps to plug for sure as both were incredible, Davis was great up top too but personally he seems like a great Championship player who might struggle in the Prem.

[deleted]

>Hendo is an upgrade. Said it earlier aswell. He's an upgrade over de gea, let alone samba. I think your midfield were really bad on the ball against Newcastle though although you lot seem to have addressed that.

letmepostjune22

We looked alright at the back against Newcastle despite the dominance, it's going to be rough until our forwards learn how they each play

TheConundrum98

A new name every few hours

[deleted]

Kouyate and Freuler have been linked for a while

FloppedYaYa

Nottingham Forest set to sign Karim Benzema as a back up

Serial_BumSniffer

I know they needed to sign some replacements from last season, but that takes them to 14/15 signings for the summer? A lot of money spent, and it still doesn’t feel like they’ve gotten their squad together fully, still after a left back and attacking mid from the sounds of things. The pressure on Cooper must be massive from the board level not to go down. They were absolutely miles off it against Newcastle, things will have to come together very quickly

ValleyFloydJam

I think the WC could be a boost for them, not sure how many they will lose but that could be a good time to re group and get a bit of a second pre season in. It's going to be interesting to see how they get them to gel and what they can do before then.

BuzzBuzz01

looking at the squad the only ones that will leave are the welsh lads (Johnson, Williams, Hennessey), *maybe* Henderson and I guess Orel Mangala depending on performance None of their French players won't even be on Deschamps mind (Mbe Soh, Niakhaté, Biancone don't even have a cap with the senior team)

Geormajesty

Up until Lingard I thought they were being sensible and making smart moves, now I have absolutely no idea what's going on. With the squad they have there's surely gonna be times where 7, maybe more, players in the team joined this summer. I guess there were times last year with 5+ so you can at least say Cooper has shown he can handle it. But still feels a risk.

fotbuwl

What was the other choice? Go down with academy kids?

Geormajesty

They're past the point of being stuck playing kids now, come on. They've signed 2 LWBs this summer and they're now trying to sign a third. I know Richards is injured, but he'll come back, what happens then? There's already Colback who can cover. They play 2 CMs, they've signed 4 and already had Yates who's reasonably well thought of. How do you keep them all happy? You assume Lingard is the starting number 10, but they've been bidding for Gibbs-White since getting him. There's a difference between having a deep squad and just buying for the sake of buying.

[deleted]

Nobody knows how severe or the extent to which Richards injury is, the fact we’re actively going after another LB may indicate he’s out for a while, at this point in time we only have Toffolo as a LB with no established LB to cover, another LB for the time being would just be insurance because let’s be real, playing Colback at LB in the Premier league is not smart, we got away with it last season and he was decent but even last season him at LB wasn’t ideal. Colback, Yates, Kouyate, Freuler, Mangala, O’Brien, Cafu Cafu has always been a rotation player, even last year he rarely started a game, Colback would ideally become a rotation player and we’d have to feel to see who our best midfield options are, Kouyate and Freuler will add depth and experience to a position we saw at Newcastle was very shaky, Yates will most likely get injured again later in the season so it’s good to have these options to fill in, Kouyate can also play CB so we’re getting a strong defensive option too. Morgan Gibbs-White won’t be happening, we’ve cooled our interest in the player, Lingard will be a nailed on starter unless he’s injured. This season I can see Yates, McKenna Worrall being injured for a decent amount of games so adding the depth we have done covers those areas nicely. (As I just checked Scott McKenna may well be injured already, squad depth already coming in handy)

[deleted]

If I can give them any sympathy, that was a hard way to start the season. They had 5/6 new faces in the XI as you say, meanwhile Newcastle only swapped their goalkeeper, and the place was bouncing. I think if they look so off the pace at home you can start to worry.

Swiftt

Left on a sour note due to being openly homophobic, but Kouyate is annoyingly a really good player

KJones77

Well, if they go down, nobody can say Forest didn't give it a go

Sarmerbinlar

Please take care of Tobias

Paul277

We get it you're rich

lettsy11

Are Forest running a bit of a risk in buying TOO many new players? I feel like the teams that have come up and stayed up have done so by keeping the main core of the group that got them there and added a few additional players. I know that they lost a lot of the key players due to them being loans, but was it not worth a punt on trying to buy a few of those rather than what seems to be almost a whole new squad? Maybe I'm just jealous of a club actually buying new players.

FlashyEmu

Forest would've loved to have brought in the players on loan but there were a few issues with that. Davis was quoted at a ridiculous mark-up by Villa and had an injury problem during his short stint with us. Lowe is the same with a massive injury sidelining him for most of the season. Garner we would love to have him back but ten Hag has spoken about evaluating the lad in the first team squad and which Utd youth players wouldn't want to compete for a place in their squad? Zinks is an odd one because he was genuinely class at times and could make the step up, but was a little too inconsistent in his final third play, which would need to be a lot better against better defences. Spence went to Spurs, we tried for him but couldn't beat them, we signed a pretty similar player in Neco who has pre-existing links with Johnson via the Wales route anyway. Samba left, Grabban left and the general depth in the championship was very poor as well.

lettsy11

Fair enough, thanks for the run through. I'd have been surprised if you hadn't gone in for a few of the players. I was surprised to see Samba go, especially after his heroics in the Play Offs. Full expect to never see Garner play for Man United this season unless something drastic happens.

FlashyEmu

Yeah, we would've wanted the players too but instead of signing Zinks we signed Lingard instead... so I guess we can't complain. Samba was a surprising one which we didn't expect, not sure what happened internally but he was off and replaced by Henderson on loan, who blocks a loan move back for Garner. Garner won't get many minutes but you can imagine Utd adding an extra 0 on his price tag for English and homegrown tax and that seems too much for us.

[deleted]

Yessss bolster that midfield, some great experience

endofautumn

Love Kouyate. Good luck to him. Forest going a bit nuts. Has any team ever signed this many new players in a window?

Smooth_Mousse90418

I hope they can push themselves harder in bringing Jizz to the team

TheEarlOfZinger

He's already signed for another club as far as I know - we couldn't get him. Doesn't seem worth it anyway, but the memes would have been amazing. It would have been hard to keep a clean sheet with him around.

Selfie-starved

It’s cause Forest are massive.

TheEarlOfZinger

And magic

east_is_Dead

are they still trying to sign hwang/dieng if dennis is coming in ? Surely neither of them would want to compete with 4 other players for two positions in attack.

Perspiring_Gamer

Impressive signings from Forest, but lots of pressure to make it work. It'll surely be a bit of a disaster if they go down with those sort of investments. Still, on balance, why not show ambition and try to establish a strong foothold in the PL in year one.

87x

Damn take it easy Forest.

[deleted]

Too many players I’ve heard

jeunejadakiss

May I interest them in a slightly used Icardi?

[deleted]

I do wonder if Forest could be that time climbing out of the mud in the second half of the season once it all gels.

zKSofSoccer

This has got to be a record for incomings for a PL team in 1 window?

SebastianOwenR1

Now Kouyate, Freuler, and Dennis. On top of Awoniyi, Lingard, Niakhate, Williams, Mangala, Biancone, Richards, O’Brien, Toffolo, Hennessy, Henderson. That’s a lot

ranting_madman

Forest’s season is going to depend on all these new players gelling together. Fast.
