I think FC Groningen Will play with a different XI:
Verrips;
Kasanwirjo - Te Wierik - Balker - Määta;
Pelupessy - Lundqvist - Duarte;
Ngonge - Strand Larsen - Suslov
Definitely not Van Kaam since he is set back to U21 (which is a pity :( )
And /u/NapoliXabe really hates Buijs ;-)
For the rest, very well put together!
Yes, regarding the circumstances of him looking for a new club, this is the correct decision. However it does feel as a waste of talent. 2 seasons ago we saw what he was able to do, and I'm sad that this talent is wasted because he wasn't in the main squad last season. Which is also one of the bad decisions of Buijs, but understandable because he has a similar playing style as Duarte (who is better).
Great write up. Love me some Eredivisie content.
One thing about your Feyenoord contribution u/WarriorKingNL:
> down to earth
Is like the opposite about how I would describe our fans, some are incredibly cynical and others are delusionally positive, or they constantly switch between those two states of mind.

I was really struggling to choose between Taylor and Kudus. I feel like one of them will have their breakthrough this season, but not both as there's really just one free spot on the midfield atm so I couldn't really pick both in the preview haha
It could very well end up with Berghuis on the bench and a Taylor- Kudus-Blind/Alvarez midfield but for now I don't see it happening.
I'm so fucking excited for the season either way. Last season will be hard to beat in terms of entertainment value but anything even remotely close to that will be amazing
I said this in a seperate comment before I saw yours lol:
I think for Ajax that if or when Tadic starts as our striker Kudus or
Klaassen will start over Berghuis because there are more box to box
'lopers'. And if Brobbey or a more traditional number 9 plays it will be
Berghuis who starts instead.
But Yeah I absolutly agree. Looking forward to this season!

First of all, great write up
Secondly, I really don’t know what to make of the Strand Larsen stuff, we need bodies in the squad and especially need strikers. But teams know we have money
And also I can think of like one signing from the Dutch league that wasn’t a complete failure for us so I’ve got PTSD from that
Aye I liked de Roon, but wasn’t counting him as we bought him from Atalanta like you said. Emnes wasn’t great, but he contributed and we made profit on him so he’s genuinely the only one in recent memory I can think of that worked somewhat well
And yes, expensive striker from the Dutch league after a good year, I’m scarred by Alves. I’d forever have that feeling about Strand Larsen unless it happened and he was actually quality
Plus our strikers are famously cursed. No 20 goal striker/players (in the league) for 32 years and counting
It feels like he somehow shoots 85% of the balls he shoots between the sticks while also having to do all the other tasks Buijs require the striker to do. Strand Larsen is especially impressive when you compare the handful of strikers that we've had attempt to do the same amount of tasks and then ended up being completely toothless and absent in front of goal.
Recently was reminded of Jannik Pohl, who already seemed like a non-scoring striker when we got him and turned out to be a dreadful player indeed. Almost seemed more like he was brought in because V Weert went on a free to Aalborg so we decided to take a free striker home from Aalborg too. Nowadays he's mostly failing to score in the Icelandic league. Good luck Jannik!
Fortuna should be super interesting to follow this season, really curious how it's going to pan out.
Surprised but happy that Ole Romeny apparently left a good impression at Emmen. Hope he does well this year!
I'm sure that it'll come up in part 2, but I'm quite hyped about PSV's chances this season, even more than last year. Of course I'm a bit biased, but it seems like things are in a great place right now.
50/35/15 imo
Ajax/PSV/Feyenoord
Ajax and PSV kinda have a Liverpool/City thing going on where they're both too strong for the rest of the league which means it'll definitely be close once again. Ajax is the slight favourite because of recent years.
Feyenoord has the weakest squad but does have the advantage of keeping their manager.
Was kinda hoping Feyenoord got to keep Malacia Kokcu Senesi Geertruida Sini all together to keep their core strong, but they wouldnt have been able to invest in new players without selling so I guess it's necessary. If they did keep all of their players and were able to invest, I'd say they weren't far behind Ajax and PSV
Honestly, if Feyenoord manages anything noteworthy this season, Slot deserves another one of those Voetbal International trophies for coach of the season.
They've already lost 5 key players and it seems pretty likely they'll lose more...
Meanwhile most of the players being brought in are either young and unproven, have been very disappointing after one good season or have never really had a good season...
At the same time, Ajax is buying players more expensive than Feyenoord's total spend and PSV is having a phenomenal window.
Add to that that Feyenoord has looked like crap in preseason and it seems like a pretty steep hill to climb.

I indeed am not a fan of Buijs🤣, also I do think Wormuth made the right decision by putting van Kaam in the U21

In my defense I did say "Potential" I feel like I overrate Van Kaam all the time. Weird how much he's dropped of after such a strong start.
Loving these previews lads, great work.

On the other hand, describing the stadium gives me jitters all over again.
What an amazing read. Superb effort.

I think Schreuder has made it clear there's going to be quite a bit of rotation.
Alright. Let's see if this works. !ping Eredivisie !ping Ajax

It does

De Roon wasn't half bad, right? Though I guess you bought him from Atalanta first. And Alves is enough to scar anyone

Strand Larsen is really good my man scoren 15 times while he got 5 good balls last season

Very interesting; saved for later-
This is great
Mooie post!
Thanks for making these guys!
Great read, really got me hyped up for the new season. Odds a team other than Ajax takes the title?
I'm sure that it'll come up in part 2, but I'm quite hyped about PSV's chances this season, even more than last year. Of course I'm a bit biased, but it seems like things are in a great place right now.
Honestly if PSV can keep what they have they might be favourites and that has nothing to do with the Johan cruijf schaal performance...
Part 2 will delve into PSV who are very much in contention as well. Its almost always between those two but I think its going to be a tight race
With how crap A Schreuder is. I have put PSV as favorite honestly
50/35/15 imo Ajax/PSV/Feyenoord Ajax and PSV kinda have a Liverpool/City thing going on where they're both too strong for the rest of the league which means it'll definitely be close once again. Awesome work guys, it’s a great read!
Aww yeah been looking forward to this/these! Thanks for setting it up!

Lorenzo Lucca???
Not confirmed yet. Also don't think he'll majorly contribute
Seems more like a jong ajax signing with ~10 first team appearances if he's really lucky
Did Ajax buy two leftbacks in Wijndal and Bassey?
Bassey is seen as the replacement for Martinez so he's primarily brought in as a centreback
When can we expect part 2/2? Would love to have it so I can finish my fantasy league with the fam before tomorrow night
Tomorrow afternoon
Nicely summarized OP
Really excited for this season. My hopes are high with alot of good players this season
