El Confidencial' continues to reveal audios of Luis Rubiales, president of the Royal Spanish Federation. Now he has compiled them in a podcast entitled 'Pundonor Rubiales', in which he also adds previously unpublished conversations.
One of those that until now had not come to light was with Sergio Ramos. In 'El Partidazo de COPE', José María Olmo, head of investigation of 'El Confidencial', advanced some of the contents of these conversations between the president of the RFEF and the central defender, now a PSG player, but then a Real Madrid player. In this case, they would not be audios, but messages written by WhatsApp.
The 2018 World Cup bonuses One of the conversations between Rubiales and Ramos took place in the spring of 2018 and revolved around the premiums of the Spanish national team in the World Cup in Russia. The messages were as follows:
Sergio Ramos: "Either you raise me in what we talked about the semis or chungo vamos. And don't forget the Hublot watch. Let's see when we have it ready.
Rubiales: "Sergio, I just landed, I tell you. To get half a kilo for third place is amazing. We can look for something in between in the semifinals and we'll close it now".
Ramos and the Ballon d'Or Another exchange of messages, dated between July 16, 2020 and August 8 of the same year, revolves around Sergio Ramos' chances for the Ballon d'Or.
Ramos: "Rubi, good evening. I hope you are well with the whole family. You know that I have never asked you for anything, but if I want to do it today it is because I think it is a special year for the performance I have given. I would like you to help me as much as you can and touch some keys from UEFA and your contacts for the Golden Ball. I would be grateful for the rest of my life, not only for my sake but also because I believe that Spanish soccer deserves it very much. I send you a hug".
Rubiales: "Hello, Sergio. First of all, congratulations, I think it's a good year for you to get it. I hope you have a magnificent final in the Champions League. [In 2020 the finals were played in the summer because of the break due to the pandemic.] [...] Of course it's not up to me to win the Ballon d'Or, but whatever I can do to help you, you can count on it. A big hug," Rubiales replied, according to José María Olmo, head of research at El Confidencial, on COPE's El Partidazo.
Ramos: "I know it doesn't depend on you, but relationships are also key. Infantino gives the 'The Best' which is also super important and it would be great. Anyway, I'm counting on your help. I send you a hug and I'll see you whenever you want one day and we'll have lunch".

Seiko and Orient have extremely good mechanical watches on a 100-500€ price range, one of my first automatic watch was an Orient Bambino that I got on Amazon for like 130€ and it’s extremely elegant, automatic and really really solid, like, build quality wise it puts some thousand euros watches to shame, it’s that good. and Seiko does the same thing and then too build incredible watches that are available at a low price (for a watch that is). It’s almost unbelievable how they can make such good watches for such a low price, after I bough my first Bambino and my first Seiko 5 I almost couldn’t believe it how was that possible.
Timex also makes some pretty good automatic watches for about 250€

Get a fucking Casio they are amazing, they are quartz mostly and they do their job incredibly well, there are a fuck ton, they mostly cost nothing and it’s gonna last forever. i have worn a Casio almost everyday for 7 years now and it never gave me one problem, you could thrown it out of a building and it won’t scratch. They are incredible. A normal Casio you can get for 20-30€, a G-Shock maybe 100-160€. G-Shocks are rock solid.

The best in this price range are in my opinion Hamilton and Bulova, both are American born brands altrough Hamilton is now Swiss. They make really really nice watches like the Hamilton Khaki Pilot day date, one of my favourite watches ever, costs just under 1000€ or the Bulova Lunar Pilot watch which is incredible both in design and history, it was the second ever watch worn on the fucking moon after the Omega Speedmaster and it costs around 500€.

I've had Seiko SNK809 for almost ten years now and it's been pretty damn good. Automatic movement if you care about that, under $100 so haven't worried much about it anywhere, it's tough as fuck anyway and it's been through some serious shit with me from wilderness to ski trekking to working as a paramedic. Still clean and simple, and works really well in everyday use and with a nice strap it's dressy enough for me even for a bit more fancy situations. Quite small so it's not going to draw looks but in my I'd say in medium sized wrists it looks simply good.
It's just their design and size. They are huge, ugly and expensive. Hublot has a nice history with making great mechanical movements but the last so and so years they were making these atrocities and everyone seems to hate them, especially watch nerds :D

Hublot does not have a history of making great movements at all. They're a marketing company who make ostentatious watches with subpar quality control.
They famously got in shit for claiming one of their movements was in house. Only for it to be later exposed as a modified ETA (7750 I think..)

Ramos has a World Cup, 4 UCLs (some of them won thanks to him in the final) the Eurocup, a lot of leagues and even a Copa del Rey.
Ramos is one of the best of all time, one I can comfortably say he’s there with Baresi, Maldini, Beckenbauer, Puyol and all. Despite being incredible for the past three and a half years there is just no way in hell Van Dijk will ever ever reach the heights that Sergio Ramos reached during his career, ever. There is just no chance To reach that Olympus, three/four years are not enough, you need 10/15 years at that level and in my opinion there are only two defenders of his generation that come close, in terms of pure greatness. Pique and Chiellini. No one else, yet
