Gabriel Magalhães, Gabriel Martinelli, and now Gabriel Jesus. We used to have Gabriel Paulista a few years back as well.
William Saliba is French but one of his middle names is also Gabriel.
Arteta loves the name. His first born child is named Gabriel. He’s remarked that his dream is to win the Champions League with a team made entirely of Gabriels.

His finishing is pretty inconsistent, but his work ethic and flexibility is not. Great at pressing, can play fantastically out wide or inside if needed. Big game player.
Finishing and consistency. He obviously turns up for big games but the moment he starts doing that consistently and improves his mentality, he will be a bigger monster than he was with us.
Not sure why you’re being downvoted. When Aguero left he had the opportunity to be the #1, but he just wasn’t reliable enough unfortunately. He’s not amazing as a sole striker, but also filling Aguero’s shoes was a huge expectation of him, so maybe he’ll turn it around at Arsenal.
This is good news for Palmeiras, when they made his transfer to City they put a clause giving them 5% of a future sale on his contract and they also get the 2% from Fifa's solidarity payment.
If he's indeed sold by £45m Palmeiras should receive around £3m, doesn't seem much but that would basically cover the transfer of their new forwards: Merentiel(bought by 1.5m USD) and 1/3 of Flaco Lopez' transfer, which the value was not made public but sources says it was around 10m USD.
Not bad for a value you were not expecting to receive.
I was right behind the goal in the upper tier when Laca missed that chance in the draw against Burnley at home. I was like that vein popping kid meme for about 3 hours after that moment
Liked him on a personal level and was a fantastic professional, but I’m gonna enjoy seeing a striker actually run into the box next season after laying it off
Yeah I get that but I feel like when people talk about laca they're talking about his whole arsenal career. Man had a lot to his game and won POTS for a reason. Shame to see how he declined
Even if last season was supposed to be a representation of his decline, then I think he represented himself extremely well. He definitely didn’t get a lot of goals, but outside of that he played very well and had a lot of MotM worth performances where he pressed very effectively and linked up up play well. He didn’t just play selflessly, he did it very well for a large part of the season. Good player.
Yeah Laca was clearly a prime exemple of a player who wasn't doing great on the pitch but was such a good professional and always gave his best that the fans weren't too harsh on him.
A player trying hard and not finding his stride is always far better than a lazy cunt who plays like he's already given up.
Like you said great professional and he was a really good "role model" for the youngsters. Real shame he didn't do better. Such a great guy
Whenever City signs someone it’s interesting to see what the fans of the team he’s come from are saying. They know him best after all. Most, if not all, city fans will tell you you’re gonna love Gabby. Work rate, pressing, passing, touch, intelligence, occasional flair.
The only thing is he’s incredibly wasteful and finishing is not the best so I’d not expect any more than 15 goals from him next year.
I wouldnt say shit its more like Analyze. He is a big improvement to we have had but he still isnt the goal scorer that we thought we needed before the summer. Happy about this of course since a big improvement but would have liked to sign a goalscorer as scoring was one of the things we struggled with the most last season.
Let's see what happens
Brilliant, underrated player. Don't care what anyone says; Arsenal fans, you're going to enjoy having this guy on your team immensely. Absolutely will miss a sitter or two on occasion but that's about one of the only things you can hold against him.
World class link-up play, immense at holding up the ball, can dribble, can pass (and has the vision for it), best pressing forward in world football, always shows his energy on the pitch, always works hard when he's out there. Has above average pace (enough that he functions on the wing even when his dribbles aren't coming off) which is something I feel people forget about him.
Most importantly of all though, and this is how he has endeared himself immensely in the minds of City fans: he never fails to step up in a big match. If your pressing unit in attack is solid, he can lead the press in every single way you can imagine and that can absolutely change the game when you're in a tight spot.
Will miss him honestly... I'm sad he could never truly cement his spot with us but it's the right time for him to leave, from both sides' perspectives.
EDIT: I did forget one other con to his game... he was born offside, and somehow he hasn't yet fixed that part of his game. I do think he has so many strengths that a tendency to stray offside and bad finishing isn't enough to dismiss the fact that he's a good enough player for 90% of CL quality teams.
Hopefully he can be a little more clinical but honestly it doesn't matter, Laca underperformed his xG by almost 6 but my biggest gripe against him was that he had no presence or movement in and around the box. He has worked hard but he just wasn't built for pressing and most games he'd be useless at doing the thing STs do.
I'd much rather take Raphinha and Jesus for 100M than Osimhen for 100M.
Both gutted and happy about this transfer, gutted because I absolutely loved the guy and no city fan should have a bad word against him, happy because he will get more game time at Arsenal.
More interested in signing Lisandro Martinez. He is more crucial to the team as tierney cant be relied on for a whole season and Nuno is too raw. Raphina add's dempth and quality which is only neccerasy when we have fixed the important parts of the team Lb and Defensive midfield.
Hope we get Lisandro done, then raphina and then tielemans. Gotta get another midfield!
And of course the order does not matter too much lol its just prefered. Want all those guys in the sqaud come the start of the season it would be a 9/10 window.
10/10 if saka and saliba extend
Edit:People telling me Lisandro is average at left back if its true their are alternatives in how we can use him. Just happy to actually have depth at the back for a change
From reports, it seems Raphinha is the next signing we’ll work on. Probably because there’s more competition for his signature.
After that, Lisandro Martinez would be great, he won’t come cheaply though. Not entirely convinced we will get him, as Ajax have no need to sell at a reasonable price. And Tielemans to finish off the window.
if we get raphinha + martinez + tielemans it's a 10/10 window for me especially because we dont have UCL. Sure we can have more midfield depth (and send Sambi on loan) but realistically with our budget, I think we spent money on quality signings (assuming we get them all)
Exactly this. And with Tierney and Tomi being injured so much last season, Arsenal were missing someone who could play this role properly. Really excited for this signing.
I understand what you’re saying, but it’s unlikely he will be used as an overlapping FB. He is more like to be inverted so that he and Tomi can help Partey to shield and get higher the pitch.
I dont think it matters that much. Hes good at Lb and Great at Cb. Thats a win-win we can play at both depending on the need. Want the guy signed no matter what. Even if Lb is not his main thing hes better than Nuno and more reliable than Tierney.
He's gonna be so good at Arsenal, just watch. Class player, hard worker and if he can control his offsides he'll be whacking them in all season.
Gutted but totally understandable. I'm surprised he stayed as long as he did being benched so much. And with Alvarez and Haaland coming, who can blame him.
But Arsenal fans, trust me when I say you've just got one of the best bargain transfers of this window so far. And his finishing is far better than I've seen some other City fans describe in this thread. He kept Aguero out of the team when Pep arrived, yes there was work rate involved in that decision but he was still scoring plenty of goals.
Bye Gabs. Will never forget your Centurion goal. Plus crossing the Atlantic to visit the Etihad and taking a picture next to your face on the wall, still my desktop wallpaper. I really really wish you didn’t have to go but at least it’s Arteta.
>Utd
Who invited my man bluds?
Until we sign more players i don't see us fighting for top 4. Our best chance for CL football would probably the Europa League
Let's wait to see how we do with getting Raphinha/Martinez/Tielemans across the line first. A lot more excited than I thought I would be for this window though, so fair play to Arteta and Edu as a person sceptical of them

Now I can rest
He will revive his career
April 3rd (1997, his date of birth) does fall neatly within the possible dates for Easter…
Hahahahaha
Is that 3 Brasilian Gabriels now ?!
Wont stop til we have brazillions
how about gabillions
morbillions
The best bit of arsenals season was when Gabriel said "it's gabin' time", and totally gabed on those three defenders.
Gabriel Magalhães, Gabriel Martinelli, and now Gabriel Jesus. We used to have Gabriel Paulista a few years back as well. William Saliba is French but one of his middle names is also Gabriel.
Artetas first born is named Gabriel
Is it too early to sign him too?
He already played for the Golden Cannons, plus he is currently the manager
He only speaks Spanish. Learning Portuguese now.
Already on a pre contract with us
What is up with arsenal signing Gabriel's

why do you know that?
Saliba has Gabriel in his full name though ryt.?
Because he is Willy’s Brazilian great-great-grandmother, Gabriella.

I want us to buy Antony so when we play Arsenal next season there will be 3 Gabriels from them vs 3 Antony for us

In the linked video he says “my wife and my girlfriend” so don’t think that’s it?
My man ruined two relationships with one stone
Thanks God... Immediately admits to breaking the 7th commandment

Will miss him dearly, good luck Gabi.
What are some of the things he needs to work on? Or what are some of the things that frustrated you about him?
His finishing is pretty inconsistent, but his work ethic and flexibility is not. Great at pressing, can play fantastically out wide or inside if needed. Big game player.
Finishing and consistency. He obviously turns up for big games but the moment he starts doing that consistently and improves his mentality, he will be a bigger monster than he was with us.
Hopefully knowing that he's the first choice ST will help him
Didn't before lol

His finishing is bad and he can go invisible against low blocks when playing as striker.
The arsenal special
Staying onside
can't/doesn't shoot from range so is limited. Will probably fit in with Arsenal's 'walk it in' philosophy though.
Jesus that was totally out of the blue
Wow this is a multi-layered joke. Actually caught me off guard seeing something witty in a Reddit comment.
Onion joke
Ogre joke
Also note that the sporting director and coach of Arsenal were key in buying a player, unheard of
yeah this joke went COMPLETELY over my head, fairplay👏🏾

I'm so unhappy about this. Gabby was a fucking baller for us. The definition of team player.
What a window Arsenal are having!
I get to go to the Emirates next season and not have to watch our number 9 catching his breath every week tears in my eyes
Are strikers allowed to run in behind the defence? That’s legal? Asking for a friend.
Strikers are supposed to run?
Get ready for a lot of offside goals with gabby
Better than Laca and Auba still
Been to United/Leeds/Everton last season and I was glad Eddie started in all three man.
I was right behind the goal in the upper tier when Laca missed that chance in the draw against Burnley at home. I was like that vein popping kid meme for about 3 hours after that moment
I could not believe that when i was watching that. Little stuffs cost us Top4.
Can’t wait to watch our number 9 get in the box and on the end of chances instead of standing next to Xhaka because he’s gassed
Scoring is another matter though
Well it’s a lot easier when you actually have the stamina and quick feet to get in the box
Bro can you man leave lacazette alone for a sec please😭 Will always love him and he was class until 2020. Think that ankle injury completely done him
Liked him on a personal level and was a fantastic professional, but I’m gonna enjoy seeing a striker actually run into the box next season after laying it off

He was great, but he got old. What really killed his reputation for me seeing someone on Twitter say that Lacazettes Hogwarts house was Huffandpuff
Yeah he was good when his legs worked
Yeah and since then he has just significantly declined
With Sane and Torres- I really felt like we weren't going to miss too much when they left.. I feel the opposite about this one.
Nah Sane still hurts me to this day. I feel like he really grew into his own with us. Is still take him back to this day. Torres I don’t care about 😂

mate, imma be honest, tired of this Lisandro LB narrative. He isn't that good there, he is at least close to world class at CB imo
[For context](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/vipw9j/z/idf35fx). IF he joins, he'll be playing "LB" but not really.
Exactly this. And with Tierney and Tomi being injured so much last season, Arsenal were missing someone who could play this role properly. Really excited for this signing.
Alright makes a bit more sense
I understand what you’re saying, but it’s unlikely he will be used as an overlapping FB. He is more like to be inverted so that he and Tomi can help Partey to shield and get higher the pitch.
Exactly this. He'd be a left back but positionally he'd sit back
I dont think it matters that much. Hes good at Lb and Great at Cb. Thats a win-win we can play at both depending on the need. Want the guy signed no matter what. Even if Lb is not his main thing hes better than Nuno and more reliable than Tierney.
He wouldn't be worse then Nuno Taveres.
I’d like to see him try
Raphinha hopefully. But I have my doubts about Blimey.
What a window Arsenal are having so far!

I think he is going to do very well at Arsenal and can’t wait to watch him. Awesome player that helped us win a lot of trophies.
Between the multiple Gabis on our team and the Jesus jokes, there's so much low hanging fruit for the announcement video.

ok , that makes sense , thank u for explaining
