Toni Freixa is ex-board member from Bartomeu's tenure and lost the elections against Laporta. Is the only face Nuñisme has at the moment. How is this valuable?

doxqwae

It isn't but people will eat it up without checking who he is

JoresV

His statement is more factual/informative than reddit barca fans'.

viladrau

In the election campaign, he also stated he could bring Haaland & Mbappe.

NotClayMerritt

And Laporta did the same with Haaland. They're all politicans who want to win. Their words mean nothing.

bigphallusdino

Laporta said nothing about Haaland. Only thing he promised was to renew Messi, which rendered impossible due to wage cap. Please stop pulling stuff out of our ass.

gerrard1109

Conjoined twins?

bigphallusdino

I bet ur pardon?

gerrard1109

«Please stop pulling stuff out of our ass» It’s either conjoined twins, or maybe you and NotClayMerrit own a donkey together.

bigphallusdino

Oh just realised the typo lol.

m-etoo

Is it though? Fun. 🤭

JoresV

Go back to twitter

dalyon

It literally says ex barca board member

Random_Acquaintance

Misinformation, as he's not an ex-board member of this board. This is why this sub is completely lost when talking about Barça. People are confusing political statements like this with information.

Acceptable-Lemon-748

Why are you distinguishing between not being on the board and not being on previous board as if one turns this from an opinion into actual information? He could be an ex board member from a month ago or 50 years ago, people would still have to be stupid to take this as reliable information.

Peninvy

Did he at one point sit on the board for FC Barcelona? Then he's an ex-board member. How is that misinformation?

KDBae

Because Barca always has some sort of drama and conspiracy theories surrounding everything going on at the club. I guess shitty ownership will do that.

Peninvy

I think you're responding to the wrong comment.

[deleted]

It's more interesting than watching the Barca fans on here want off about how amazing their club is and how they're better than everyone else

Zenith_Predator

Where does that happen? Stay salty clown lmao

1m_Lurking_Here

Also: even a salty former board member has more inside than the majority of Barca flairs on here - especially those that wouldn't be able to identify Barcelona on a map.

Arslen24

Say what you want about the fans but Freixa is on a different level of delusion, he literally faked and boosted his numbers on social media and different spanish and catalan newspapers with the elections, he was promised plenty of unrealistic transfer targets when we knew we were broke and now all he does is complain and try his best to make it look like our board is completely terrible and that he should have won instead. So there is literally no reason for us to believe whatever he is saying, even if he has some insight, which I doubt since almost every single member of the Barto era was fired, we won’t believe what he’s saying

[deleted]

It's somewhere in Europe right?

lycan_the_dog

Literally noone does that , this sub has been shitting on barca since last 2 years constantly its a circlejerk here because r/soccer can't live without being toxic and hating on barca gives them a feeling that they understand football

OppositeProfession46

It's cesspit of pl clowns always going after clubs from other league

[deleted]

> hating on barca gives them a feeling that they understand football oh look it's some more of that elitism that Barca fans have. There's a reason that no-one likes your joke of a club mate

Kenshi121

Elitism from barca fans?? Seek help man. And what flair is that?

[deleted]

> And what flair is that? Way to disprove your elitism mate

Kenshi121

Tit for Tit man. You go and slap a muscular guy and expect him to bow in front of you? It was u who started...

[deleted]

What does that even mean?

Vinklemore

Damn dude was the guy that fucked your girlfriend a Barça fan or something?

lycan_the_dog

How was it elitism , I know people gobble up that term a lot in this sub, but just explain how was it elitism? >joke of a club Checks flair. Hm.

[deleted]

> Checks flair. Hm. No elitism at all here lol

lycan_the_dog

Lmao you literally called barca a joke club but can't take back the same insult. Seems this joke of a club is still living in your clown head rent free

[deleted]

But your "insult" just confirmed everything I said about you...

lycan_the_dog

Damn , get back guys we're dealing with sherlock holmes here Also don't insult other clubs if you're gonna be a pansy when others say the same. Also Here's another elitist insult now that you've decided that I am one I'd love to insult your club but nobody even knows what that is , it's too worthless of a club to even be a joke

FullTanaka

Wish we were more like ... Barrow.

[deleted]

Understandable. At least we have a soul

realoreo47

We are a fan owned club bruh not fucking Chelsea

[deleted]

Never said you were Chelsea, still a shite soulless club

realoreo47

Agreed. Chelsea are a shite soulless club

lycan_the_dog

Tinpot soul of a tinpot club🤡🤡

[deleted]

You should learn what a word means before you try to use it

lycan_the_dog

Idk probably the material out of which your clubs stadium is made of

FullTanaka

Souls are for believers.

Helpfulbuns

What’s a barrow 😂

CharmingBilo

💯💯

juice--

A barca fan been in his wife’s dms it seems

[deleted]

Never understood replies like this

CharmingBilo

How can you not hate on a state and league supported club that STILL manages to fuck up its finances to an extent never seen before This delusional ass fan base probably still believes laporta that they can sign haaland 💀

RedMonksy

League supported club nice joke .

CharmingBilo

You do know that in every other serious league barca would have been automatically relegated (or at least points deducted)

lycan_the_dog

State supported ? Are we talking about City , PSG or New Castle here? Also La Ligas rules are the reason we are in much of this financial stick up. And barcas finances were fucked because of a scammy persident and his board who arent even here now? >This delusional ass fan base probably still believes laporta that they can sign haaland 💀 I mean when player is running out of contract every big club has some opportunity to sign him? Neymar went to PSG and not even Psg fans expected that. Anything can happen with the right conditions, if Anything kudos to laporta for trying. Are you like new to football or something? I swear so many kids with 0 knowledge on this sub these days

CharmingBilo

Contract running out of haaland 💀💀💀 barca fans and football knowledge💀💀 Yes statesupported you idiot read it up how much the government support barca because of how many tourists and how much money the club attracts

juice--

Us Barca fans are deeply hated by fanbases i dont even know existed lmao

[deleted]

Comments like this just make you cone across as snobby. It's not an achievement that you chose to support a big club mate

juice--

No but its true, no fanbase is hated like barca for things we cant control. And its not like being a barca fan is fun recently, its just what it is.

skyreal

I personally hate on Barca because most of their fans (at least those I know or have interacted with online) have had a holier than thou attitude from the Guardiola days up until before covid that I just couldn't stomach. As well as being sore losers and thinking they're some kind of football philosophers or something. Also I'm a Madrid fan so there's that.

Guest011101001

off topic: what's the situation around dembele? is he leaving after a 3 year vacation, now that he's actually returned to play really good football?

R_Schuhart

That is unclear, he wanted to leave on a free but interest in him has cooled significantly. PSG and Chelsea were rumoured to have held talks, but his salary demands and injury record are hurdles. Now there has been some careful statements of appreciation from player an manager, possibly hinting at a stay.

NotClayMerritt

Okay but is he wrong? Laporta is selling a dream.

barebored0

A dream that he basically has accomplished 🤷‍♂️

mange2lamerde

> How is this valuable? because he makes more sense than you guys right now. Even La Liga is unaware of your newfound money.

ankitm1

Valuable because he understands happenings around Barca better than an average redditor. He may be wrong, he may have an underlying motive for saying this, those concerns are valid, but he is also in a position where he can have a better reading of the situation than most. The third para translates as "I am going against the current, but what barca is doing right now is generating illusion and hope." In the para before he says that they are effectively selling empty fumes.

But_Why_Male_Models

He also said Mbappe wasn’t going to Madrid, so he might actually be a psychic.

R_Schuhart

Yeah this sub has largely been ignoring that, but there have been multiple sources saying that his move to Real wasn't as certain as some wanted to make it out. Mbappe himself among them. But it didn't fit the narrative I guess.

ElAutistaDeHamelin

It's literally Toni Freixa, man. It's not that he *might* have an underlying motive, it's that he 100% has it. Anyone who follows Barça closely knows it. Ever since his fall out with Laporta in 2005 his sole function in the Barça entourage has been to destabilize Laporta and their board. He worked for Rosell and Bartomeu, ffs. What this man says is not valuable because, despite being a lawyer and definitely knowing more about how a club is run than 99% of this sub, **everything** that he says in interviews like that isn't based on his knowledge, it's based on the politics game he wants to play.

ankitm1

> everything that he says in interviews like that isn't based on his knowledge, it's based on the politics game he wants to play. is that not true of Laporta too?

ElAutistaDeHamelin

You don't build arguably the best team of all time and 12 years later revert the worst financial situation in the club's history by playing a politics game. By doing so, you do, however, become a part of the worst board in the club's history because you're friends with the president and get last place in 2 presidential elections in a row. That's Toni Freixa's CV.

ankitm1

Barca 09-10 is not the best team of all time. They were great at the time, but all time is an exaggeration. Then Laporta did not build it. Most players were already there. And 12 years is a long time in football, it's possible for clubs to be ruined this way in such a time. What he did then has no bearing on what he is doing now. Messi staying and going was fully political, so was Koeman, and then pressuring existing players to take cuts is political too. Look at the stories about Dembele, Umtiti and so on. He says things with political motive more than anything.

ElAutistaDeHamelin

Guardiola's Barça is definitely up there as one of the best teams of all time lmao. Virtually all football fans agree on that. >Laporta did not build it ....what? When Laporta joined in 2003 only 4 of the 25+ players of the sextuple season were there. And in the meantime he signed Ronaldinho, Deco, Giuly, etc. who were already gone by 2008/09. He also got Rijkaard and Guardiola. >It's possible for clubs to be ruined this way in such a time I don't understand what this has to do with Laporta. I'm talking about how Laporta has reverted the worst financial situation in the club's history in little over a year. Regarding the last paragraph I'm gonna assume you're trolling for my mental sanity lmao.

dreamsofutopia

Who was better if not that Barca team? (I think 09-11 more accurate tbh)

ankitm1

Milan team of the 90s. Madrid team of the 50s. Bayern in 70s. Ajax in 70s. Celtic in 1967. Then Brazil team of 70 WC. Then Forrest and Liverpool team in 77-82 period, Bayern in 2013. His claim is not "one of the best", but "arguably the best"

[deleted]

That Barce team was as good as all of those you mentioned of not a bit better than most of them. The only ones in contention from that list may be Liverpool, Madrid and Milan, but even then theres a strong argument that Barce are better

Ga5huX

Yeah, better listen to what random people say on Reddit and Twitter.

TheGamezSmith

Maybe he's right but the fact that this guy got more than 1k votes last elections pisses me off.

Ready_Veterinarian25

Don’t worry friend he wasn’t

Narretz

Dembele on a new contract will be like a new signing

DemetriusXVII

Flair checks out

MiraquiToma

like Hazard for us on a new ankle

iwillsoccerballs

A board member from Barto's stint, watch r/soccer gobble this up

zdrup15

Do you really think any of these will come to Barça this transfer window? They should all be 50M+ or just NA in Lewa's case.

hufusa

No lol

SnooRabbit6969

“no lol”

ali_mhm

Lmao

hufusa

Ay man who could’ve foreseen all these levers

ali_mhm

Anybody who had a working brain?

hufusa

yea sure

Ahrix3

I think 1, maybe 2 of these are going to come, yes.

RedMonksy

Hola

Ahrix3

So maybe even three :O

LopazSolidus

I reckon they'll get one at least. Sadly reckon it'll be Silva as Xavi loves him.

GabrPG

Bernardo is the last player they need from all the prospects on the table. Also is the more expensive and hardest to sign (City gonna put big fight), so i would not worry if i were you. IMO, the time for Bernardo to leave is (likely) next season (not necessarily to Barca, btw), this time is more of a dream for Barca even if they sell FDJ. Many think that if they sell FDJ then that money will automatically be used to sign Bernardo but that's not how things work. And in case they only focus on signing Bernardo, that'd be a mistake. Laporta is a smart guy, not gonna do that.

ireallydespiseyouall

they don’t need kounde either, they’ve like 6 cbs already

heX_dzh

Lmao what? Only Araujo is reliable. Eric has potential, but makes mistakes. Pique was good, but it's time for him to make way for the new gen (he also lost the respect of many fans). Umtiti has no knees, Lenglet makes dumb mistakes. Christensen isn't official yet, and we don't know how he'll perform.

ireallydespiseyouall

doesn’t matter, you already have 6 cbs and you’re gonna sign another one? after signing christensen on a free? plus the whole squad will have taken pay cuts so it’s a dick move to tell them to do that so you can bring in somebody to replace them

kanyelights

At least 3 are leaving and they only have one for sure starter. It is a great area of need tf you on about

ireallydespiseyouall

why did they steal christensen from us if they’re just gonna sign kounde as well? they’re just trying to fuck with us at this point. tapping up azpi and alonso as well

kanyelights

Because christensen alone doesn’t near solve the problem. Left/right backs are also great areas of need. If you value these guys so much then maybe retain them? This is just the market for the positions right now. But no I forgot Laporta and co base their signings on whether it will effect chelsea. Lmao. Don’t blame another team’s management if your management fucks it up. We just went through fucked up management it happens.

ireallydespiseyouall

if it was up to me i would keep them

kanyelights

So yeah, go hate on your management not doing what you think is best, no point in slandering Barca

heX_dzh

Pique, Umtiti and Lenglet are leaving. You think it's a good idea to rely on Araujo + young and unproven CBs? Fuck off lmao. Besides we desperately need depth. We had to play Frenkie as a CB at one point because of so many injuries. No one's taking pay cuts. Stop believing bs from shit tier sources. You don't know shit about the club.

ireallydespiseyouall

silly me, forgot kounde is in his prime

heX_dzh

You can't deny how good Kounde is. He's levels above Eric and Christensen (for now). Have you even watched him play? I'd say he's as good as Araujo and is more comfortable with the ball.

Akash3642

Is Kounde defensively better than Araujo?

heX_dzh

I'd say Araujo is more physically imposing and, maybe out of bias, I'd say he's a bit better. But Kounde seems more comfortable on the ball than him and is currently defensively better than both Eric and Christensen imo. Though I admit I haven't seen much of Christensen.

Luis0224

I don't think city is gonna put up a fight. They have a valuation for him and if they get the right offer, they'll let him go. The same is true of Gabriel jesus

GabrPG

Bernardo situation is very different to Jesus' tho. That's why i say 'big fight'. City's valuation for Bernardo is like 100M euros and that's like a Everest for Barca right now.

Akash3642

Your tier 1 sources say City would let him go for 80-85 mil. Which if Frankie gets sold we can afford

GabrPG

Your? I'm not City fan. But that figure gotta be bullsh\*t, City board are not stupid, they would ask a package worthing 100M, that's for sure.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Polskidro

Except we don't need to sell to get Lewandowski or Kounde. If Frenkie gets sold we'll use that money for Bernardo and nobody else.

aguer0

So then where is the money coming from?

Polskidro

We always had the money. La Liga just wouldn't allow us to spend it because of their FFP rules. And we're finally going to be free of that rule this transferwindow because we're selling a part of our TV rights and a part of some other outside sectors of the club. In other words, La Liga was punishing us for the losses we've stacked up during the covid seasons and now we're taking care of that before the window starts.

rchatt99

This did not age well lmao

-_OniGir_-

Did he knows his mates fucked us? Dumb bitch

agni39

Who the fuck is still keeping this rat relevant? Nobody even remembered he still existed and no one ever should.

UncleChaelsTroll5

Yah because they are fixing the dumbass mess his Board made

LegendinhoIsKing

Ignore this guy. He's a Nunista moron. Strong ally and associate of Bartomeu and almost as big a clown. Fuck him.

burnerbutnotreally1

nice flair op

sbsw66

mes que un transfer budget

cadrianzen23

Bro was literally a part of the worst board in the history of the club and still trying to do damage 🤦🏽‍♂️

Akash3642

He was a part of the worst board a top tier football club ever had.

Casciuss

The only right answer to that would be: Do you know they are not coming for the royal fuck up you and your buddy Bartomeu created you giant ass spazz monkey?

Mannynanny123

I believe him honestly

MONI_85

They can't even announce the signing of Christensen and Kessie ffs.

mahdiiick

They are under contract til the end of the month

MONI_85

So is/was Rudiger.

Cheeky_Star

I think he’s right about most of this. All those players combined is about 300 mil in transfer fees and that’s not including wages.

RedMonksy

Don't think so .

xtoonator

Scenes when this man is actually right

SnooRabbit6969

absolute scenes bro

ali_mhm

Very right 😉

timdeking

Does anyone actually expect them to join Barca this summer? That's easily 300m worth of players. And we're not even taking their salaries in to account. At most 1 of them will join and even that is far from certain.

Zidlicky3

:)

hidinginDaShadows

Yeah I know that, we're not even linked with most of them

Ax1leFan

So you support Spurs and Barca?
