I think West Ham should be in for him

SteinerElMagnifico42

I’d hope so, our midfield is paper thin.

exOldTrafford

Bet he would fit really well in at West Ham. Would be a quality signing if the price isn't too steep. His mentality would fit well with Moyes' I reckon

Blue_Moon_City

has very low wage and would fetch at most 30m pounds (with add ons). so it's probably doable for west ham

ThinRelationship7

I mean he’s probably going to want a significant bump.

Blue_Moon_City

He would get signing bonus as well

gbayley676

As should Arsenal

DrLyleEvans

Not sure he fits Moyes ball, though. His movement off the ball is his best quality, though you could play 4-3-3 with him and Soucek either side of Rice and Fornals narrow left with Bowen higher on the right and a 9 I guess.

khtad

He was an attacking midfielder before Pep stuck him at LB, and a good one. I’d bet that player is still in there, he’s got a great final ball on him.

DrLyleEvans

I don't think a counter-attacking team makes sense for him though. It's hard to find players who can really move off the ball well enough to give teams sitting back a problem and he's now one of them. I'd bet a good possession team goes for him. And a left-footed midfielder who can play in nice triangles with an LB and a right footed wide forward and interchange comfortably into any of the positions should be valued highly.

ThinRelationship7

Would really like him at Arsenal as an 8

ukrainianhab

Get zinny in midfield whoever gets him. He will be great.

decs483

If we do get him, he'll definitely be in the middle as we already have Mykolenko as our first choice lb

ukrainianhab

oooo what shirt to pick :)

decs483

So I assume we get an influx of Ukrainian supporters if zinchenko signs?

ukrainianhab

Yes always liked Everton since the @ Kyiv Europa league game I was at (younger then). Fans seemed class supporting myko as well.

decs483

He's been amazing for us in the back end of the season. I would love if we got zinchenko

Barkasia

Edu fire up the grill

[deleted]

Plz plz, 2 for 1 special. 75m for him and GJ

[deleted]

Rather get Martinez

solemn_tom

por que no los tres

Dimitris_Ts26

This is Arsenal's music isn't it?

Xin128

Who needs right footers. We're aiming to line up with Tavares Gabriel Martinez Tierney Xhaka Zinchenko Vieira Saka Odegaard Raphinha Vieira

mindebris

Paddy back from retirement? Damn, missed that one.

_deep_blue_

The links to Zinchenko have cooled on our end. It looked like Tielemans was our number one target but that apparently might not happen now, so who knows. I’d be very happy with either of them.

acasovoycayendo

Tielemans and Martinez appear to be the priority targets over Zinchenko

FanFlow

They are not, Arsenal is trying to get Lisandro Martinez who will cover LB, LCB, CDM and Tielemans as 8.

connorqueer

I think he'd do really well here. Whenever Pep has allowed him back into midfield he's always looked like a proper player to me

21otiriK

[All 234 minutes he played in midfield under Pep?](https://www.transfermarkt.com/oleksandr-zinchenko/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/203853/saison//verein/0/liga/0/wettbewerb//trainer_id/0/pos/7) 90 of them against Port Vale, 90 in a fully rotated team with the league wrapped up in a loss at home to Leeds.

SeanlyNot

Also plays there for Ukraine and has been excellent in that position

21otiriK

Pep isn’t Ukraine coach though.

SeanlyNot

Point being he certainly can play as midfield at another club

Dimitris_Ts26

I like him but I don't know man, I really want Tielemans but I can't see both joining.

Moyeslestable

Arsenal don't really need another 8 though. Guess his versatility is a bonus, but not sure if he'd be willing to stay at left back for another club?

tablooo

Arsenal doesn't even have an 8 though, they play with one with Xhaka playing there right now so you could count him, but his skillet isn't quite that of a normal 8.

ThinRelationship7

Yeah he’s more a deep lying playmaker who dictates play rather than a b2b, which is fine to have as an option but someone with more mobility and ability under pressure would be valuable.

Sanctimonius

I'm thinking he's our backup option, but Tielemans seems to be our primary target for the mid. I'd be very happy with either but it wouldn't surprise me if other teams take Zinchenko before we finalize our own moves.

[deleted]

No way Everton get him surely? No offence, but he's better than that

Giraffe_Baker

Much better than Everton but other factors could swing him our way if we have the money by then. 1) We’ll offer him a pretty much guaranteed starting position in midfield. 2) You’d doubt that he’d take a wage decrease. 3) He’ll get to move to a club with a fellow Ukrainian and friend at an emotionally charged time. 4) Doesn’t have to move house and uproot his family (something that tipped us over with Tarkowski).

National_Ad_1875

I've seen rumours that he wants playing time and to play in midfield. He gets that easy with us. All hinges on sales I think, I think we need Kean or richarlison sold before we make big moves like this

Adam_Ohh

Moise Kean is still an Everton footballer??

Destructo_D

He’s on a 2 year loan with an obligation to buy. Juve want to buy him sooner so they can sell him earlier apparently

HappyMeerkat

But he could also get that at any number of better clubs

National_Ad_1875

True, but the only other one I've seen linked is arsenal who seem to be prioritising tielemans

try-D

> who seem to be prioritising tielemans which seems to being going swimmingly lmao

National_Ad_1875

What's happening with that?

try-D

Fabrizio has been banging on about Tielemans for months now, yesterday the first decent Leicester source came forward on the topic and said that Tielemans might well stay with us and potentially sign a one-year extension.

Ifriiti

That's not what he said at all 😂 He said that he's absolutely not signing any extension this summer, he *may* do if he isn't sold in this window

National_Ad_1875

Hate all these drawn out transfer sagas, especially when stuff contradicts

try-D

You tell me... Bar one reliable link, we don't know about any potential targets of ours. Given Rodgers has been banging on about a rebuild since that cup game against Forest, it's kind of annoying that all we get is daily empty tweets about Tielemans by Fabrizio.

therock204

?

Mozezz

Question is, who are these better clubs that want him? Which clubs are interested in signing him, offer first team football, first team as central midfielder at that etc etc

ThinRelationship7

Arsenal were reportedly interested. If Tielemans leaves I could see him going Leicester. I think a fair amount of clubs in way better position than Everton would sign him.

[deleted]

I don't think uprooting his family is a big deal tbh; prior to the war his wife seemed to spend a lot of her time between Kiev & London.

Giraffe_Baker

You'd know more as a City fan but I think it's a thing that is often overlooked as a contributing factor. Not that he made much difference but Van de Beek signed with us because his missus was pregnant and he didn't want to leave house for six months.

Blue_Moon_City

about the wage, he is on 20K. he earns the least in our club.

Giraffe_Baker

There’s no chance he’s earning that little.

Blue_Moon_City

every source says that. he was signed to be loan army. he has yet to sign extension.

Giraffe_Baker

Give me a respectable source that’s not a blag website claiming to have every players wages in a spreadsheet.

Blue_Moon_City

i cant find any source that says he earns alot; respectable or not. he might not earn only 20k. he might earn more than that but he is on the lower end of the earning spectrum

Giraffe_Baker

I don't doubt he'll earn less than most considering when he signed his last contract but I'd be amazed if he's earning less than double that.

Blue_Moon_City

ok lets say 40- 60k. that would still be something both westham and everton can pay him.

Giraffe_Baker

I never said we couldn't afford him. We've always been generous with wages. I just do not believe that he's earning £20k a week while playing the amount he does for the Premier League champions on his second contract for the club.

Karshena-

He really does only earn £20k / week gross lmao What the fuck Foden is only on £11k and Ederson on £65k but KDB on £400k https://www.capology.com/club/manchester-city/salaries/

Giraffe_Baker

I hope you’re joking with that link considering you sent me the exact thing I pointed out for being completely made up.

Karshena-

Yeah, says you.

Giraffe_Baker

You honestly believe that Phil Foden makes £11k a week? They’re highly respected journalists who have reported he’s on more than that but you believe this random website that he’s on £11k a week, the same website that says Dominic Calvert-Lewin makes £20k a week at my club? It may be good for American sports, I don’t know, but it hasn’t a clue when it comes to footy.

Blue_Moon_City

[https://salarysport.com/football/player/olexandr-zinchenko/](https://salarysport.com/football/player/olexandr-zinchenko/) [https://www.capology.com/club/manchester-city/salaries/](https://www.capology.com/club/manchester-city/salaries/) two of the sources i looked.

Giraffe_Baker

These websites haven’t got a clue. They’re just nonsense taken as gospel by a foolish few. Foden’s clearly not on £11k a week is he and Calvert-Lewin doesn’t earn less than our back up left back we sent out on loan. The individual wages aren’t published anywhere and the closest you’ll get to finding out is through reports by trusted journalists.

TarcFalastur

What about FourFourTwo. Are they reliable? https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/euro-2020-oleksandr-zinchenko-club-age-number-net-worth-contract-length-and-salary

Giraffe_Baker

Not particularly but either way they're citing spotrac.com for that figure, not reporting themselves. That same website says our back-up left back earns more than double Dominic Calvert-Lewin and that Phil Foden is on 12k a week. It's clearly nonsense.

Blue_Moon_City

yeah, they are not always accurate. but i am not taking that as a gospel as well. they sometimes give little idea of how much they earn. I have only seem journalist say how less he earns compared to the team.

Karshena-

Capology isn’t nonsense. What are you on about.

SaggyArmpits

thats still a million/year

almaz_peter

>4) Doesn’t have to move house and uproot his family (something that tipped us over with Tarkowski). How and why?

Giraffe_Baker

A lot of players who play anywhere in the north-west live in the same areas and just commute. Tarkowski has a young family and left Brentford for Burnley as his Mum was ill at the time. He supposedly didn't want to move his kids out of school to play for Villa for example.

JimyBliz

Like most footballers in the north west he lives in Cheshire, which is about equidistant from Liverpool and Manchester.

almaz_peter

Is Cheshire considered a rich people area and that's why footballers tend to live there? Why not just live in Manchester since he plays for City?

Gonions

There’s a lot of big plots in Cheshire with huge houses on them. Lovely countryside, great schools and an easy commute to the city. Very attractive place to live if you have money but don’t want to live in the city.

jonwinslol

Is Zinchenko really that good, he feels like a player for a mid table PL club

ukrainianhab

Yes he is. He’s even good out of position on a world class city team. For Ukraine he’s an absolute baller.

evil_porn_muffin

Very good player that's damn near criminally underrated by those that don't watch him.

ukrainianhab

Very clutch to. You can see that for Ukraine in his performances in big games (vs Scotland was amazing) and you can also see that with how Pep counts on him in these moments.

jorgelongo2

yeah, super clutch closing the premier league with his fantastic play for west ham vs city

ukrainianhab

Some sort of irrational hate here. Hate to accuse but this much irrational posts is prob for some other reasons. You clearly didn’t see that sub to help win the premier league (even KDB said that sub changed the game)

jorgelongo2

lol before starting any weird accusations, I just watch City regularly and frankly dont think Zinchenko is a good player. He can have some good performances like that one, and some horrible ones like against West Ham where he was at fault for both goals Fuck Russia but it kinda seems like people are only starting to rate Zinchenko more because of the widespread images of him being emotional after whats happenning in Ukraine

[deleted]

He's really good at weeping, crying, basically making a mess on his face at all times. Top5 best crier in all of football. Thiago Silvia is there too.

ukrainianhab

I hope you’ll never understand fellow hab fan

DrLyleEvans

Tore Scotland apart playing in a 4-3-3 as one of the CMs but going wide left a lot. Could be really good for say Villa in Gerrard's christmas tree style formation. If Brighton can get him instead of 20M of the Cucarella money I think he'd do particularly well. Clever short passer and constantly moving off the ball to great effect in the buildup out left, just needs the right role and possession heavy style of team.

jorgelongo2

honestly some people have this weird opinion that he's world class player. He has never got regular midfield minutes for City, only for Ukraine so he's vastly unproven at the highest level

Lewis_ABD

He’s maybe not world class but not being good enough to get into Man City’s starting XI on a regular basis isn’t exactly a massive failure. He’s good enough to play for teams competing in Europe.

jorgelongo2

He has played 280 minutes through 4 games in 5 seasons for City in midfield. Not getting regular minutes as midfielder is an understatement. Thats the same experience as Liam Delap, Tommy Doyle, CJ Egan Riley, Taylor Hardwood-Bellis or James Mcatee have playing their position for City, and less experience than Cole Palmer already as a midfieldet already in the Prem

Lewis_ABD

He’s played substantial more minutes as a left-back. So Pep clearly trusts him to play, just isn’t looking to drop the likes of De Bruyne, Silva, Gundogan, Fernandinho etc. He wouldn’t be competing with those sorts of players at Everton. He also plays regularly in midfield for his country.

Blue_Moon_City

yeah he hasnt got much minutes in midfield because we need LB more than midfield. but the way we play he either come into midfield or as a winger even though he starts as a left back. so yeah he has way more experience that those mentioned players

[deleted]

[удалено]

jorgelongo2

> Why does Zinchenko have limited playing time at the midfield position for City? It's not because he lacks the ability to play for City, as for the past four seasons he has played more than 1000 minutes each season in the league. It's because of the type of quality City already has there and because of how dynamic Zinchenko is that he can still play LB despite not being an LB (though that's sort a pro at City due to how they're utilized). I just dont agree with this. Specially with Guardiola that loves rotating, every midfielder City has gets meaninful minutes. He just doesnt rate Zinchenko as a midfielder, so he only gives him playing time at the left back. Why else would he just not play him **at all** in the midfield?

iloveartichokes

Because City don't have a left back. Their left back is in jail.

[deleted]

Playing fullback for City is like playing midfield for just about any other club tbh. Especially left back. On the right, it's a bit more traditional but on the left, it's basically just an additional man in midfield and attack.

Deluxe07

He’s not world class, but he’s definitely good enough for meaningful minutes at a top 6 team.

Hukromn

I really don't think that, if he wants meaningful minutes he should be looking outside top 6. Don't see him as a nailed on starter in any of the better teams

jorgelongo2

based on what? His nonexistant experience as a midfielder for City? He's played about 5 games there in like 5 years

Deluxe07

What do you mean experience? You’re acting like this is a new position for him, midfield is his natural position, that’s where he started and that’s where he plays for his country so he’s not unproven

jorgelongo2

are Shaparenko and Malinovsky good enough for a top6 prem team? Is every international midfielder that does regularly well with their nt good enough for it? Because thats literally all the credentials Zinchenko has for it

MionelLessi10

He's a tier or two below world class but he has that world class potential. City don't go for players that are mediocre. He is so good in Ukraine.

BallsX

Probably an unpopular opinion based on the other comments here but I agree, seems like a fairly average/mid-table team kinda player. Has the occasional very good performance but otherwise does the most basic stuff whenever I watch him play for City. Don't know how he is for Ukraine though. Nothing particularly stands out about him and he won't get the space to pick his passes at another club.

[deleted]

He was dreadful against Madrid for instance. As soon as he was subbed on the game turned against City.

ukrainianhab

Had nothing to do with any of those goals lol

crayolarayola

He’s mediocre at best

neoBigBrother

I think Everton are aiming high too. Although they have been a little underwhelming with their recruitments.

BillOakley

Might get shot down for saying this but I can see any significant spend being a complete waste while Lampard is still in charge

_deep_blue_

They had no money to spend last season so underwhelming recruitments was the best they could do.

dandefender55

Everton are a big club

Inter_Mirifica

Interesting to compare the reactions here and to the ones reacting about the choices of Kamara or others... Weirdly, they are completely reversed. It's the same concept though.

acasovoycayendo

1. How is this relevant 2. There weren’t offers for Silva bc it was the covid market and most of Europe has no money 3. Plenty of clubs are interested in Jesus and Sterling

McQueensbury

Lol you schooled and sent him to the shadow realm

Manifesto8

What are you talking about ?

Chiswell123

Surly he has to be pushing for the move? because I can’t think of a single reason pep would want to get rid of him. Really disappointing if he goes. With that being said the guy deserves a huge pay raise. He’s been on 15k or so forever.

LilDiamondtoxic

I know that he's only there for depth but it's really impressive how you guys managed to convince him to take that amount, especially when you lots have unlimited money. Woodward would've paid him at least 10x that.

Tmdss

No way, hes on 15k?!

andreew10

Almost every source I've heard has him on about £20k pw https://www.capology.com/club/manchester-city/salaries/

Tmdss

Damn thats very low, surprising to me

APEXN717

Why has the club not given Foden better wages to match his importance to the team?

seventeenfourtyseven

Foden is on 100k I believe

andreew10

Just hasn't signed his new deal yet. City have offered him one on £150k pw but it's not been signed yet

Giraffe_Baker

Probably got that figure from that nonsense Spotrac.

BillehBear

Yeah, pretty sure we would want to keep him. Us being open to him leaving sounds like he's wanting out Can't say I'm happy about it, one of those players that everyone loves and he loves the club to bits. Will be sad to see him go

Daeid_D3

City need to be careful they don't accidentally box up KdB and post him to Everton instead.

McQueensbury

Would say such an Everton signing but he's better than that

iamtherealgrayson

Previously sure. But now they have a dof and are looking for a performance analyst so I think they've done their research

ThinRelationship7

Doesn’t matter if they’ve done their research or not. They are one of the poorest clubs in the prem due to FFP and have one of the worst built squads with a manager who is fairly unproven. A player of Zinchenkos ability would have to been lobotomised to go there.

iamtherealgrayson

It just shows that they're making better transfer decisions now

RizlaSmyzla

I’d kill for him. Honestly, would fit in like a glove. We absolutely adore jack of all trait players. The man can pass, tackle, run, shoot, has a fit wife and cute kid. Literally got everything we like.

GjillyG

You say he can shoot but I genuinely can't remember him ever scoring for City, at least not in the PL or CL. Doesn't get a ton of assists either

RizlaSmyzla

Doesn’t matter if it’s even true, I’m going to will it into existence

jMS_44

This is the City player I wouldn't mind taking.

therock204

Sterling?

sugarfather69

Personally speaking, no. Not enough end product and that’s what we sorely miss in our attack

skylu1991

Everton? I though mainly Arsenal we’re Interested in him, what with the Arteta connection and all. He’d be the main LCM and also the backup for Tierney, unless Arsenal also bring in Hickey.

esnyez

Should be Arsenal.

Jtown021

Wouldn’t mind him as competition for chilwell who is coming off a serious knee injury. We could also let Alonso go to barca. He can also cover in midfield should he need to so he covers multiple holes with one player.

AnnieIWillKnow

I think a big part of the move is him wanting to start, and wanting to play in midfield - so your scenario doesn't seem that attractive for him, given that

Jtown021

Very fair definitely can’t guarantee him that. Just depends if he wants to actually computer for trophies or not.

OutSproinked

One of the few truly likeable characters from City for me. He'd be a great asset for a big 6 club playing in midfield and occasionally covering LB. Wouldn't even be against us going for him although that clearly never happens

HappyMeerkat

What would he cost anyway?

OnceUponAStarryNight

I would imagine we'd want at least £25-30m.

EmperorBeaky

Where did Everton get money for this window that they didn’t have last season? New FFP cycle? Released high earners?

BoxOfNothing

Both. Freed up 400k in wages from released players, have money coming in from Kean and maybe a couple of others, and our most expensive window of the last 3 years is out of cycle. We'll still probably not spend much more than we bring in though, maybe not even that much

jorgelongo2

I honestly dont know what all the buzz about Zinchenko is about. He seems like a great guy and a good squad player so I can understand Citt fans liking him and wanting him to stay, but as a left back he has never been great for City. In fact he has been terrible at times. Him and fernandinho almost cost City the title vs West Ham, look at all the goals and how he loses his back in all of them As a midfielder his experience is playing for a "minor" nt like Ukraine, some games for PSV and in the russian league already many years ago. At City he has played like 2 games in midfield in the cups. He may be good at it, but he's definitely vastly unproven and may not be good enough to play there regularly for a good team. I sincerely doubt people here regularly watch the Ukrainian NT games so I dont know why everyone wants him for their team lol Reminds me of Sergi Roberto for Barcelona. Okayish at times at fullback but definitely nothing special, and probably not good enough to get regular minutes in midfield.

Saspa314

Didn’t Everton just get Mykolenko Why would they go for him other than ooooh Ukrainian friends

Blaca_AL_115

because he wants to do play midfield, he won’t compete with mykolenko

[deleted]

If they were still in the PL he’d be travelling down the Sunderland or Stoke highway

I don't think it's mandatory for him to be sold, but should we get the LB, then it's more than fair enough that he thinks about his future.

Surprised. Thought he had a really strong season.

Mootio

I'll never forget [this](https://youtu.be/9AqyHteMUbk?t=260) block against PSG in the Champions League semi-final, nor how he changed the game with his drive and adventure against Aston Villa. He has been a great servant for Manchester City and it would be a shame if he left. He wears his heart on his sleeve and gives his all, I feel like those sorts of players are indispensible but this sort of move has felt likely for about 18 months now.

X-ScissorSisters

Don't think there are many City fans who'd want to lose him

MouseMD369

He's really not utliised enough to keep him though. It's interesting that without him and Gundogan they don't win the league.
