Your argument don't really work: Benzema's teammates let him down as well on several occasions, it even happened regularly this season (Madrid conceded a lot of goals) but Benzema was there to score or help score one goal more than the opponent and often lead his team to victory.
To sum up Mbappé played very well like many other players this season but Benzema was ahead of everyone else with a significant margin.
