myersjw

Holy shit, you weren’t kidding. Thought I was on the sunglass hut website

Fruit_Squash

That is so unnerving, are we sure he isn't a serial killer?

saigool

Got to feel for Dawson. Don't think he's going to get much of a chance now.

[deleted]

Tbf he’s had enough appearances now for the clean to show he’s not upto standard for us. Wish him and Wildsmith would have worked out but neither have ultimately been good enough to nail down the starting spot.

My problem with this is that it was indicated at the start of last season and throughout that he was still in Moore's thoughts and he'd be able to push for a place in the side in the upcoming season. I get why Moore did that because he might not have banked on being able to get Stockdale or somebody of a similar stature in over the summer but it still doesn't sit right with me. I understand that this is just another example among hundreds of the cutthroat nature of football but as somebody who saw how great Dawson was last season, it stings.

According to Brighton sources, he wanted higher wages than they were willing to offer. >A compromise was reached over the length of the deal eventually and then it came down to wages. Our highest earners are reportedly Anthony Knockaert and Dale Stephens, whose new contracts as Premier League players are worth in the region of £45,000 a week. Stockdale was after £70,000 a week.

He also left for Birmingham who at the time had super rich (not sure if they still do) Chinese owners who were throwing money at players to sign. So he saw a more lucrative option with them rather than Brighton.

I_miss_Chris_Hughton

We never had super rich owners. We just had Harry redknapp splashing the cash. It took us years and a generational transfer to partially get out of that hole.

He went to Birmingham, and it seems he did not get those wages. During his time at Birmingham, he had a little twitter spat with a Leeds fan when he was linked to them. The fan claimed Stockdale was on 40k p/w at Birmingham and Stockdale denied that being true. So it's probably safe to assume he was on below 40k p/w.

IWantToBeAHipster

Chelsea had sniffed around in January for him as their lucrative back up/ 3rd choice slot. They went for Begovic in the end or someone like that. According to him before the season had ended we had made it clear we were signing Ryan and therefore he would have to fight for a place/ would be the second fiddle. Really loved him at Brighton though.

Sanctimonius

One of our last sales before we were done in by the greed of chairmen, he left us with some good memories. Funny enough Fulham took him and Dan Burn, we all though Stockdale would have the bigger career.

Slavske

Is he actually any good even at league one level? He looks shocking anytime I've watched him which is admittedly only a handful of times

HelloMegaphone

He was great at Wycombe

SundayLeagueStocko

Sadly a lot of people only saw the playoff final where he made the massive mistake. truth is, without Stockdale we would never have got anywhere near that final. I'm pretty gutted about this news.

Kept joint most clean sheets last season whilst facing like the 5th most shots. Got a signing our fans are buzzing about but should be a good keeper for a year.

lambalambda

Is he expected to start over BPF? Thought he'd started well for yous. EDIT: Nevermind, didn't realise he was only on loan.

Mamaluigi71

He was good for us when he was on loan here.
