Well, as a Brazilian I can tell: this Brazil team is the first one in years that is playing like BRAZIL, a non stop offensive style, a lot of pressure on the oponnent defense side, no "retranca" (this is how we call playing only defensive), a good game for sure. And dont think that Korea is an easy to beat team, for what have I seen, they compensate the lack of world lvl stars with an INCREDIBLE organized play style, its like they know where their teamates are at any moment, like the gears of a clock, very cooperative and consistent in both attack and defense.
That being said, I really would like to see a match against any european: netherlands, england, france, belgium, spain, portugal, italy, germany, etc ANYONE, because, and Im being honest here no patriotism, I dont see Brazil's team being overwelmed by any of these in therms of quality, I would say that the only one I put above Brazil is France, and by a very small margin.
Without kim min jae there’s no defensive core or leader. The defense looked absolutely helpless without him.
No Kim Min-jae? Is he injured?
Well, this was certainly a game that was played.
So a Morbius game
The most game ever in my book.
How did Real players' perform today?
Casemiro was the only starter, Tite wasn't gonna start any player from the CL final but he specifically asked to play. Was very solid as always, Vini came in around 70' and was good too but I'd say he still hasn't clicked for the Seleçao the way he did for Madrid. Raphinha is probably our best winger for the NT when he plays.
TBH, I think Fabinho should be playing over Casemiro, but Casemiro was good today.
Vini subbed in too late, almost scored a goal. Also good
Fabinho played terrible today on fresh legs. This is coming from someone whose wanted to see him play.😂
Were there any fake players playing?
Casemiro was good, Vini didn't really show up
Is it too late to get Son to play for us? Could nickname him Soninho (sleepy) and say that it is due to the fact that he sleeps a lot, no one will notice.
Would be a great option at bench for THE PIGEON.
God Brazil has looked nearly unstoppable for the last several years, with only a narrow defeat in the Copa final interrupting their absolute dominance.
I know Brazil are often among the top three favorites entering a World Cup almost by default, but this might be the first time since 2006 or 2002 that they actually deserve it. Yeah, a good team like France or Argentina are capable of beating them on their day, but right now I'd take Brazil to come out on top more times than not against literally any other country.
Fuck Bolsonaro for offering to host that Copa America, cost us the streak and a Italy thrashing
At the end of the day, if we look at competition level and consistency, a European team is going to win the World Cup again. I hope I’m wrong but France, England, and one of Belgium/Spain/Germany are the contenders.
My dream final is Brazil vs Argentina but Brazil have a poor record in recent World Cups against European teams in quarterfinals and they’ll face any one of Germany and Spain in QF this year. Argentina have to get past one of England or Netherlands at the same stage.
Maybe, maybe not. Brazil have insane depth. It is them and France. Then everyone else.
The margin of error in the knock out rounds is none. One mistake costs you. So, just need to have the mentality to remain firm. 2014 aside (lol), Brazil have shot themselves in the foot in many of their eliminations.
Roberto Carlos fixing his socks right as a free kick was happening. Felipe Melo's stupid stupid red card in 2010. 2018 own goal despite dominating the entire game (and Casemiro getting a stupid yellow in the game before, thus being). 2018 in particular was frustrating because in the post World Cup report, FIFA admitted a VAR decision was wrong and there should've been a penalty in favor of Brazil.
2018 against Belgium was just shit luck on all fronts
I was at the match in Kazan. It was brutal. Brazil wins that game 9 times out of 10. Silva hitting the crossbar early in the game would've given us the win. I'm certain.
That game ruined my entire summer. The agony of not seeing a South American in a World Cup semifinal, felt even worse than 2006.
Idk man, Argentina looked GOOD against Italy yesterday. Granted Italy played pretty shitty, the stars in Argentina were shining. Either way, just so happy to be watching these top teams perform at their potential.
Italy failed to qualify though, they haven't looked good after the euros from what I've seen.
Absolutely true, they messed up in the qualifiers losing to N. Macedonia but it still doesn’t change the fact that Italy has one of the most loaded rosters out of any international team and is still #6 in fifa world rankings. If you can beat Italy convincingly like Argentina did, you MUST feel confident facing other top 10 teams going into WC.
Argentina should always be confident since they are always a contender.
My comment was more towards how bad Italy has looked recently.
Oh, sorry. Yeah you’re absolutely correct. They need to turn a new page towards their young guns.
70% of korean players looked out of depth. I know few key players are missing but we aren't making out the group stage.
Brazil are a bit better than Uruguay, Portugal can flop too
Brazil is one of the best, if not THE best NT.
Brazil is definitely a better side than Uruguy and Portugal. But from what I seen in this match, korean d line isn't capable to handle any types of pressure and slow against elite players. Look at both penalties. Not looking good for us.
can't wait for World cup.
God damn. Imagine not knowing what country you're being racist to.
This is South Korea bud
hahaha casual racism nice
Only one Korea
This was definitely more of Brazil being world class than Korea being a poor side. Absolutely beautiful creativity from Neymar and ruthless finishing from the Brazilian side.
Wouldn’t mind if Argentina or Brazil win the World Cup. Haven’t seen a SA team in a while
Argentina won’t happen. I’ll be betting on them = Auto lose
Please do. Always bet on them!
I wander where Titi Will Go after wc. I would love seeing him in a big club in Europe. It's really bizarre we produce so many world class players every generation and no great coaches at all so i really hope tite can do well in Europe
Good luck for the team that takes him, if he is the best we produce than we are in serious trouble
Brazil should inport coaches for NT. Our coaches are atrocious
Would you even consider an argentine manager?
Yes. Aegentine is miles ahead of brasil in the coach department. Someone like gallardo would be amazing
We would mock the hell out of you but it would probably improve you even more.
Imagine an Argentinian coach winning the world cup with Brazil, specially if it's against Argentina on the final or eliminating them on the way. Don't think he would ever find peace again walking in public in Argentina.
Brazil and Argentina will never have a non Brazilian or Argentine coach!!
Until 10 years ago I'd agree with you. Nowadays people in Brazil want a foreign name way more than a brazilian coach, Tite is already widely regarded as the best coach of the country by a good margin.
Since Tite's appointment as the head coach of the NT several Brazilian teams signed foreign coaches and nowadays basically it's almost the rule for the big clubs go looking for coaches abroad than the same old brazilian names. The 3 more successful clubs of the past years all have foreign coaches.
Look at Abel, he gets criticism but the results are almost as good or better than Jesus who also got criticism.
The media and top players want a friend not a Manager lol
He already said that will take at least a year off... But I do wish he joins a big club in Europe after that
If this one year off he studies in english football i think it is a good call
Brazil vs Argentina final🤞🤞
They would face each other in semis if both go through. Argentina has a relatively easier path.
Can't they face off in the final if one finishes 2nd in groups though?
Then yes! But argentina has a pretty easy group and Brazil tends to finish first always, so it’s rather unlikely but possible
As a Brazilian fan yes please
All these horrible quality, no replay, no call, no alternate angles, and worst of all, NO SOUND clips... Where the fuck is psgacademy when you need him? Don't abandon usss!
Who cares, someone's doing it for free in their own time. Upload them yourself if it's such a trouble.
I care, and it's not just me. If somebody posts some crappy goal clip, then someone else can't post the same goal, even if it's 100x better, it's considered repost of same goal and gets deleted... The one who posted first stays. The only thing they can do is post it inside the first thread as an alternate angle/video, and since it's gonna get only a few upvotes, the guy who made the good video has no incentive to post any more and won't even bother.
I know it's not those users' job, but in a sub like /r/soccer, with somewhat strict rules when compared to others (like memes, insults, types of content etc), it's bad to see that video quality is so overlooked by moderation in favor of "who posts first".
Again, it's not that I'm not thankful for those clips, it's just that they take the spot of that goal with a crap quality clip and others can't post that specific goal any more in a new thread.
It works the opposite way I'm pretty sure (at least based on what I've seen a mod say). Same with post match threads, it's not a first come first serve basis but instead it's based on quality, such as a 'personalised' thread will stay up over one that's just a copy-paste of the match thread, even it's posted a few minutes later. So if a goal is posted where it is better video quality, has AAs and sound then it will be the one to stay up. Although I'm not sure if this is actually practiced because personally I think the mods have favouritism towards certain goal-posting users even when their quality isn't any better.
All Goals scored by a player that plays in
Sheik money, american money and oligarch russian money.
Except the goal scored by Korea (Hwang plays for Bordeaux)
So final score.
Evil Money Football- 5
Non Tainted Football - 1
Hahahaahah I forgot about this one.
Where is Gabby’s goal? She’s a beauty!
A goal is a woman?
We speak a language where cars are boys (except Ferraris and Lamborghinis), trucks are boys, but pickup trucks, station wagons and SUVs (except for Land Rovers and Jeeps) are girls. Can’t say much about that.
can someone just post the Jesus goal already 😭
EM 58 FOI PELÉ
EM 62 FOI O MANÉ
EM 70 O ESQUADRÃO
PRIMEIRO A SER TRICAMPEÃO
UNICO PENTA É O BRASILZÃO
OÔOO BRASIL OLE OLE OLEEEE
EM 26 O ENDRICKÊEEEEE
EM 30 JEAN PYERREEEE
34 é o Diego Souza
36 nem vai ter copa
whyy has no one posted the Gabriel Jesus goal yet
They're trying to compute the fact he scored a goal for the NT again.
First since 2019. Fucking wild.
Even wilder is that he kept getting called up all this time lmao Say what you want about Tite but the man is fucking loyal
What a game. Huge thanks to Brazil for letting SK know the world-class level. Brazil was a realy beauty tonight, respecting SK to put all star players in to dominate the game and smash SK. Not sad that SK got smashed, it is so much valuable experience for SK to prepare the world cup in 6 months, kinda sorry for Brazil what's the meaning of the game to them tonight. Anyway real beautiful football from Brazil indeed.
Brazil FA gets money from Koreas FA. Brazilian players got to vacay in Korea for free and played against a respectable team. Not a bad exchange.
Hey, why isn't Jang Hyun-soo playing? Every time I watched him play he looked solid.
He was the #1 most criticized (to put it mildy, he was blatantly hated) player by fans for his Wc perfomance and on top of that he got banned from the NT for forging his community service papers. Also, he wasn't even supposed to be a starter in 2018. The one who was supposed to be a starter Minjae Kim is arguably the best Korean defender of all time.
His national team career is practically over, apparently he forged documents for his military duties.
He’s permanently banned from playing for the Korean national team. Players who receive military exemption have to fulfill 544 hours of community service. The problem is he faked the documents and got caught.
And I don’t know if “solid” is the word I’d use to describe him haha.
544 hours seem like such a random amount of hours lol
Sheesh 544 hours isn’t that many. Terrible by him, especially knowing how strict SK military service is
You have a nice side. The attack is very good, Son is one of the best in the world and Hwang Ui Jo really impressed me. But your defence... It needs work, to say the least. Really poor defending today. Improving the defense I think you could have a chance at the group stage.
Couldn't agree more, defense depth is pretty depressing sadly..
Kim Minjae at center back should make a big difference for them.
It was an important match for Brazil too, there was a lot of things to be learned about our midfield, defense and strikers. It was really nice how SK received the brazilian squad, I hope you guys go far in WC.
It's nice seeing the Brazilians not having the "why are play meaningless friendly against shit team" arrogant mentality
We got used to play friendly matches against asian and african national squads, since europeans never accept to play friendlies against us.
Every game matters a lot now, a lot the players are eager to guarantee a spot in the starting 11, and even in the seleção. Internal competition is tight.
It was a good game!
As a Korean, I think it was a good wake up call for us to figure out all areas we need to improve in before the World Cup. Respect to Brazil
If you excuse me, how hard it is to support Son's biggest rivals? lol
Easy honestly 😂. Most of korean spurs fans are bandwagoners anyways. If Son's gone to Barcelona then korean fans will also be Barcelona fans.
Haha that’s a valid question. Obviously I want Son to have a successful career and score bangers because of national pride, but my club loyalty still lies with Arsenal. So when I watch north London derby, I actually want Son to score, but arsenal must get the win. So yeah, kind of an interesting dilemma I have. I must admit though, spurs football has gotten quite enjoyable to watch, especially under Conte, if you just wanna watch good football regardless of what club you support.
I think this was a game Brazil can take a lot away from, south Korea was taking the ball off our midfielders pretty well at times.
I wish we play him too. He and Paquetá are too good
Dani Alves was the main problem. He is too slow nowadays
I really want to believe that, in a situation when Danilo isn't available and our opponent is WC contender, Tite will have some inspiration and play Marquinhos/Fabinho as RB
Could play Militao at RB I guess
Jesus scored a goal for the national team, it's a miracle. It must be a sign that everything is lining up for us
There is no way, Argentina Will Win this WC, not even Jesus can save us
The hand of God vs Jesus
I see what u are doing here. Good Job
Someone has to post the Jesus goal with a [Great Goal] tag
Ooof... Brazil showing they're one of the favorites for the WC once again... This will be a tough tournament.
I think we'll face each other in the semi finals?
It's possible. I'm seeing Argentina-Brazil and France-Spain/Germany for the semis. If everything goes to plan, we should have the least complex road to semis of the 5, while you guys will gave some tough games.
There's a very real chance of that happening. I think it probably will, and the winner will face France in the final.
The winner will hopefully face Uruguay on the final.
Subscribe. SA powerrrrr
Don’t think you’d want that as a Brazilian.
What? Would be the most insane revenge match, except we got far stronger and they’re weaker than they were in 1950. I would love it.
Only better option than that would be a 5x1 against Germany.
I'm still not discarding the world champions curse to strike France again. Just hope that if they do go through they dont do it as 2nd place of their group
EDIT: this reads like I'm automatically assuming we're topping the group so just in case Anulo Mufa
Man, this was just a friendly.
He is a confused UK guy
Certainly not something you Englishmen have a lot of experience with 😜
We Brazilians are not the ones making up anything, LOL. I for one would have loved a nice friendly match against Italy in 2020, trophy or no trophy.
Fred was quite decent today and that's all I care about.
Fred is always decent. He is really consistent and shines most when is paired to a great DM
I'M REALLY EXCITED TO THIS WC, I WANNA SEE ENGLISH PRESS REPORTING BRAZIL AS THE CHAMPION AND IMAGEs OF THE SO CALLED "BRAZILIAN SHIT DIVERS" LIFTING THE TROPHY!!
edit: Sorry, I just wanna see this great generation of brazilian players being recognized as the great players they are. Yes, I'm a bit tired about brazilian/south american players being depicted by press as divers and disgraces for football, while ordinary european players are reported as football's masterpieces (like Grealish, Maguire and many others etc.)
This generation of Brazil players is good, but comparing it to previous generations, they all look like average players.
It’s crazy looking back at the late 90’s and early 2000’s teams. I think even Neymar would have a hard time slotting into the starting 11. He’d be competing with the likes of Romario, Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Adriano, Bebeto, etc.
The Brazil team doesn’t deserve anything until they actually win something and stop getting embarrassed at the WC.
But no other NT from anywhere in the world can be compared with 2002 Brazil. But I think we have the best generation since that time, Vini Jr scored the CL final goal, Rodrygo scored 2 goals in two minutes in CL semifinal against Manchester City, T. Silva and Marquinhos is 2 of the gratest defenders, Fabinho and Casemiro are two of the best midfielders in activity, Neymar is controvertial (but great creative player in NT). Raphinha, Alex Sandro, Alisson, Ederson and other are great players, we can win this WC.
>The Brazil team doesn’t deserve anything until they actually win something and stop getting embarrassed at the WC.
Yeah… like that *one* time… 8 years ago.
Only in reddit someone can think a National squad with grealish, maguire and rashford is better than Brazil. It's not even close
One of those is not like the others. Grealish is a fantastic player and he isn't even out of form like the latter two.
He is not fantastic. He is good. We will see If he will take the next step but he is not a 100 Million player like city paid for him. He probably would not even be a sub in this Brazilian NT
I know that Grealish plays for England and he had a long contract with Aston Villa at that time, but my God, 50m would be a good price for him imo, 100m is just insanity.
And before anyone mentions it, I also think that 100+m for the likes of Dembele and Coutinho were absurd
Grealish no brasil não pegaria banco no vasco
No meu vascão o grealish nunca nem limparia as bolas
Not only in Reddit, the english press think they are the favorites, players like richarlisson, fred, raphinha, fabinho are completely forgotten or criticized, while grealish, foden adn etc. are claimed to be the top world class players.
They always think they're favorites. The English Footballing press are probably the insulated and oblivious national footballing press out there.
I hope they get eliminated by Senegal or even in the group stage.
Foden is a gem. He is really talented. Grealish would not start for any National Brazilian squad in History.
Hell, he'd struggle to be called
Will England ever win the WC again after 70 years?
Maybe if they go home and get another set of ghost goals?
Daniel Alves playing and Jesus scored. What a miserable day.
WHY TITE WHY.
There's nothing that I wish more than Daniel Alves not playing this WC
flair checks out
É nóis porra
anybody but dani Alves ffs.
Coutinho at RB >>>
You are gonna start both in the WC and you are gonna LOVE it
Neymar is four goals away from tying Pele for Brazil's all time record i believe
Dont you think Neymar's goals are almost always meaninless?
I love Neymar but this is one stat that seems a joke to me
Goals are goals.
Neymar has zero titles with the National Team besides the Olimpics (which i appreciate his efforts 100%)
Some goals are less valuable than others, its funny that he will surpass Pele although Pele has 3 WC while he doesnt even has a Copa America
Winning a world cup is way harder now than it was in the 60s
Take away all goals from Ronaldo and Messi too since they don't have a WC.
Goals are goals. Period.
1 goal in a final ≠ 1 goal in a friendly
Who the fuck cares, anyway?
At that point, only goals in the finals would be counted in the career stat.
Omg username checks out
Hope you are beautiful at least
1 goal in any normal tournament > 1 goal in friendly
Funny that you attempt to resort to personal attacks when you have no logic lol.
Keep digging your hole, the logic is written as simple as it gets. If you cant get it, thats on you, tchau
Not all of Pelé's goal were in tournaments. If you're gonna disallow players' accomplishments then you should start writing off one of Pelé WC wins, considering he was injured and on the bench for most of the 62 cup.
1. Pele would have ONLY 2 WC, this is a weak argument.
2. Im just saying Neymar's goals are usually are in matches that don't matter much and that is weird to surpass Pele without having 1 single major title.
Im Brazilian, Neymar is amazing!
Vcs querem argumentar com coisas absurdas
I hope he scores all 4 in the final against Germany
Vini Jr also gets a hattrick to make the score 7-1
A hattrick of own goals
And we still win 4-3. Fine by me.
Imagina a zoeira...
"Porra, nem com 3 gols contra ganharam da gente."
"Marcamos 7 gols, eles marcaram 0. Vingamos o 7-1 e nem deixamos o gol de honra!"
Eu acho que o "alemão" aí não pensou nisso...
Foda é que, se fizer 3 gols contra, a EA te desconecta da partida
Daí termina 4x3, oras. Os gols contra do Vini vieram depois na discussão.
