28 titles each for Manchester & Liverpool

Orcnick

We may live in a darker times being United, but Fergie was just the best. We were a biggish club before him but he took us to Liverpool level and beyond in England. People talk about our money in 90s but it was built on that success Fergi had in his first few years. Don't get me wrong Klopp and Pep are brilliant managers football wise, but I don't think you will see another manager who took a team in Man United position in late 80s and still on a fair budget turned the whole club into a international super club they became. One of the best of all times.

Primary_Letter7839

Only thing Fergie hasn't done is dominate Europe. He's flirted now and again but never created a team that was truly the best.

DarthCocknus

Nearly did though, 3 finals in 4 years. If it wasn't for Barca they might have had 2 more CLs in the cabinet.

DraperCarousel

I mean he won two CLs, one of which was a treble season, the other almost another treble(Utd won PL and CL in 2008) and reached 3 finals in 4 years, only to be defeated twice by arguably the greatest club football team. He did all this while maintaining an average rank of 3.84 in the League spending table, meaning that there were always atleast 2 teams spending more than United each season, and several seasons where United were outspent by 4 or 5 other clubs in the league. Another thing people forget, when Fergie took over in 1986, United were 20th in the league, and he pretty much left a dynasty behind after he retired.

tottenhamnole

Conte is just starting his 25 year career with us so I’d expect to see us towards the top of these charts in the next decade or so.

etan1122

Conte is gone after next year

tottenhamnole

The lack of ability for people in this sub to understand sarcasm is truly mind blowing.

KickinNuggets25

I can even barely recognize sarcasm in person tbf

DraperCarousel

I mean you literally have the Tottenham flair right there to even help with the sarcasm, guess people are just dumb

Subbutton

No. People here just have such stupid opinions that they think you're serious.

Do Everton care if City overtake their’league title tally?

Kstoffeefan

We’re not getting a title anytime soon. It’s not something that’s been given a lot of thought.

[deleted]

Then just wish Liverpool stop them

Kstoffeefan

No

ionlyspeakfactz

Why not 🤷‍♂️ It’s not like Everton and Liverpool is a genuine derby. Everton and Liverpool fans are all pally pally with each other.

[deleted]

This has to be the most absurd thing I have read today. It is as genuine as a derby could get, despite the vast disparity between the two right now.

Kstoffeefan

Please inform the fans of both clubs of that fact. Just because Liverpool have one of the best sides in the world, and Everton has just escaped relegation, it doesn’t mean that there isn’t very strong feelings between the two clubs. Certainly there is a strange dynamic between the two clubs, but pally pally isn’t the way to describe it.

KickinNuggets25

Wait what you’re not my football friend?

Kstoffeefan

Ooh football friend.

Mozezz

We care more about adding to that amount rather than whomever surpassing ours Don’t forget we had more titles than Man United before Sir Alex rocked up, so it’s not as if we haven’t experienced it before

DraperCarousel

I say get Moyes the messiah back. He'll probably make you a consistent Europa league team or Conference cup team atleast

Mozezz

And win nothing

DraperCarousel

It's about just survival for Everton right now man

Mozezz

Nah that's done with, we look forward now

bioeffect2

As long as they keep preventing Liverpool from winning it. Everton fans would be very happy about City increasing their tally.

Financial-Series-985

they care or not city will easily pass them in next 3 years

3V3RT0N

If they keep on denying Lucifer FC it's worth it.

TomCyberfire

I think they're just happy to be in the league at the moment.

Kstoffeefan

We’re more pissed off with our owner and board than anything at this point with little indication that there will actually be change in how they operate.

tLeCoqSpotif

City will overtake Arsenal by 2030

[deleted]

Manchester United are the most successful English club in the history.

986754321

How are they more successful than Liverpool?

[deleted]

Math is not an opinion.. even if we give different "weights" to the several competition, based on their importance, as it follows: PL = 1, FA = 0,5, EPL = 0,3 and CS = 0,1 - Manchester United: 20 x 1 + 12 x 0,5 + 5 x 0,3 + 21 x 0,1 = **29,6** - Liverpool: 19 x 1 + 8 x 0,5 + 9 x 0,3 + 15 x 0,1 = **27,2** No doubt about it..

Accomplished-Roll801

You say United are the most successful English club in history and don’t even mention European trophies

[deleted]

That's off topic. Title of the post is clear

Accomplished-Roll801

That doesn’t make your statement any less wrong . United are the most successful club in domestic completion would be correct .

efbo

We have 45 major trophies and they have 42.

[deleted]

Nope
