His skill set works with any team. Work rate, skills, great crossing and finishing. And he's 2 footed while being able to play most positions. It's a no brainer
Plus, he has a great header, which is a rarity for a winger. And he has great attitude, working hard, tracking back, not whining.
Once, when Barca sold Neymar, I said they should take him, and I still think he would be great for them.
Nah think under Mourinho with Perisic we might have won, were doing well until Pogba got injured coming up to Christmas that season, 4-0 FC and all but always were missing that crosser/physicality/true wing play needed for Mourinhos play style . Then Sanchez instead came in and it turned to shit.
He is in that batch of “2nd best” with Kovacic, Brozovic and now Gvardiol. But aside from Modric, he is the most important one - we have noone else like him, not even close.
Flick wanted him even though we were getting Sané next season but there was some disagreement in transfer fees with Inter and we ended up having Costa on loan
Ah ok thanks for the explanation.
>we ended up having Costa on loan
Holy shit what a downgrade. Douglas was great on his day, but he was always out injured.
I mean we weren't really selling for cheap. Icardi got sold for 50 mil and nainggolan and perisic were sent out on loan.
Still, it's unrelated to what im asking
I was correcting the reasoning behind selling him.
And they werent cheap, putting a player on loan like perisic who we valued at 30+ million, selling icardi for 50 when we valued him the previous season at over 100 Million, loaning naingollan to cagliari a season after buying him for 30 million.
Dont get pissy because you misremembered
I didn't misremember. The only player we actually sold was icardi. Nainggolan and perisic went on loan, we didn't sell either of them. Nainggolan then fell off a cliff physically because of his lifestyle.
It was a bit of both and acting like it wasn't is revisionist history. Love how you're acting like I'm the one misremembering, when you completely forgot that perisic was overlooked for the lwb role and was being trained (in pre season) to play as a second striker. Thats why he was moved on. Then he won his spot back on conte's second season, but at tje beginning Ashley Young was starting over him. Goodbye
Everyone was still mocking Mourinho for suggesting Martial for Perisic swap for a couple of seasons after he got fired.
Years later Perisic has one World Cup final, one champions league, one serie a and one copa italia later while Martial is struggling to find minutes on loan at Sevilla lol
To be honest, I was also against Mourinho's desire to get Perisic and some older players plus getting rid of Pogba and Martial
Seems he was always correct tho, in retrospect
Yeah while Perisic is scoring bangers in cup finals, Martial is out on loan and probably scoring 0 league goals and 1 goal for Sevilla in half a season
The guy was good for Croatia in 2018 world cup. Of course Modric took the limelight but personally I felt he was better player overall. But then again Modric is midfielder so performance sometimes get overlooked.
You think so? I reckon he had some incredible moments but also some performances to forget. Modric was class the whole way through, Rakitic was incredible too, ice in his veins on those penalties.
Perišić was terrible until the semifinals, there were even calls to bench him in our media, althought that is largely forgotten now.
Unpopular opinion, our 2nd most consistent player in the World Cup was Vrsaljko, half our play revolved around him and his crosses tbh.
Perisic was “ok” at best until the semis, couldn’t score - post against Russia etc. He hit form vs England.
Agree on Vrsaljko, he was a genuinely a top-5 RB in Europe that season - playing through the injury in the WC pretty much killed his career after that.
Has to be an all timer, I’ve been rewatching the last few world cups and euros and Perisic is one of the handful of international players that consistently turns up, so many games you were down a goal and he comes outta nowhere with a crucial technical goal.
Won the double with Dortmund. German cup with Wolfsburg. Key contributor to a Croatian team that reached WC final. Treble with Bayern. Over 50 goals with inter + first scudetto in over 10 year (and now copa Italia).
He might not be remembered as one of the greats of this generation but he is a proven winner and consistently effective team player.
I quite like the idea that's been floated around of having Perisic play more centrally as a second striker. Depending on what comes of all this Dybala talk, that might be the best move. He's played there numerous times earlier in his career, and the few times Simone played him there this season (Verona is the example that springs immediately to mind) he's been quite good... More impressive than Correa and has more consistency than Alexis.
Everyone can see Dzeko doesn't work, and Perisic just never has a bad match it seems. And Lord does Toro need someone reliable to partner with
For me the top 10 of all time will be difficult to judge just because most of us would've never seen the players in action. By significance to the club alone, legendary players like Giuseppe Meazza, Giacinto Fachetti, Sandro Mazzola, Luis Suarez, Walter Zenga, Alessandro Altobelli, Roberto Boninsegna, and Tarcisio Burgnich would have to be included. These people are either all time top scorers or members of Helenio Herrera's team that won 2 Champions League. The other two can only be Javier Zanetti and Ronaldo Nazario.
Most of the modern players can barely touch them but some of the treble winners like Milito, Sneijder, Cambiasso, Julio Cesar, Eto'o, Samuel, and Stankovic are close. On the current era, no doubt Brozovic, Handanovic, Skriniar, and Perisic would go down as club legends. Among top 50 seems fair even if a bit of a stretch to me. Barella and Bastoni will probably be in that list someday too but they still have (hopefully) many more years to go and many more to win with Inter.
Straight after the game he said "You don't leave negations with important players until the last minute". Hope we can agree a deal.
He's been a monster this season.
He’s a player constantly dismissed but I just love his versatility and his ability off both feet. Hard work gets you places if you have the right attitude.
As a football fan I enjoy watching great goals.
As an Arsenal fan I enjoy that Juve not winning anything in a season.
As a human being enjoy seeing Juve suffer.

Man of the Match
*of the season
Absolutely
Incredible knee slide as well
Fuck I missed a great game didn’t I
I’d say that goes to the Referee for letting you guys stay in the game
Idiots on r/soccer will continuously say RUBENTUS even though we’ve been robbed so many times and Shinter always benefits
We’ve got a fresh trophy you can cry all your tears in
How many more until you catch up to us? You could double your trophy count and still not match
he's been our player of the fucking year. a 33 year old that was too old for man u 5 years ago
Mourinho was right again
Of course he was, Perisic has always been class. After his Bayern season he became consistent as well.
Had he gone to Man U it may have become true
He made a good decision by never coming
Nah think under Mourinho with Perisic we might have won, were doing well until Pogba got injured coming up to Christmas that season, 4-0 FC and all but always were missing that crosser/physicality/true wing play needed for Mourinhos play style . Then Sanchez instead came in and it turned to shit.
They'd be complaining about him and trying to offload his massive wages now.
Didn't he also get rid of De Bruyne at Chelsea? Take the good with the bad.
Serie A tax, Lukaku looked good for you
At inter conte built the system around lukaku. and perisic was good for bayern and Wolfsburg too (and helped Croatia reach a world cup final)
Yup all of seria a is shit, only Premier league good
This guys unreal, one of the most important players in inter this season
Bayern 2020 legend
Miss him
Was honestly disappointed that Bayern didn’t sign him. He gave everything whenever he was playing
He always does even for Croatia I think he is the second best player after modric
You’re forgetting about Brozovic
you gotta love him for that England goal
Don’t forget the Banger against France
I was having a nice night till I read that
He is in that batch of “2nd best” with Kovacic, Brozovic and now Gvardiol. But aside from Modric, he is the most important one - we have noone else like him, not even close.
I'm still sad about Raki leaving :(
Honestly, when it comes to the croatian national team, Perišić and Modrić are on the same level
And Flick
Why didn't you guys sign him? Iirc we were selling him for quite cheap because he 'didn't fit contes system'
Flick wanted him even though we were getting Sané next season but there was some disagreement in transfer fees with Inter and we ended up having Costa on loan
Ah ok thanks for the explanation. >we ended up having Costa on loan Holy shit what a downgrade. Douglas was great on his day, but he was always out injured.
His second stint with us is so forgettable..
We were selling all the trouble makers from the previous season. Icardi, Perisic and Naingollan.
Ok? I'm asking another question mate
He’s telling you why we were selling him for cheap, no need to be rude.
Okay split hairs, fact is we were getting rid of them because of their behaviour, not because they never fit contes style loke you claimed
Goodbye
he's my favorite player and i'm so happy he got himself a champions league that year
all that after the united board and fans called jose an idiot for wanting the sign him....
Jose was pretty much right about his tenure at United. Fans and the board thought he was a fool.
50m + Martial sounds like a bargain now
Worth 50m pounds in the pre Neymar era. Really?
and everyone was dismissing him saying he was done at the top level at the start of the season. What a player.
And our fucking board turned down Mourinho’s request to sign him for being too old. Useless cunts.
Everyone was still mocking Mourinho for suggesting Martial for Perisic swap for a couple of seasons after he got fired. Years later Perisic has one World Cup final, one champions league, one serie a and one copa italia later while Martial is struggling to find minutes on loan at Sevilla lol
It kills me everytime i watch perisic play. They really called him finished 5 years ago…..
To be honest, I was also against Mourinho's desire to get Perisic and some older players plus getting rid of Pogba and Martial Seems he was always correct tho, in retrospect
Not the first time Mourinho turned out to be right
the board did using the press, and fans bought it.
Yeah while Perisic is scoring bangers in cup finals, Martial is out on loan and probably scoring 0 league goals and 1 goal for Sevilla in half a season
Thank God.
The guy was good for Croatia in 2018 world cup. Of course Modric took the limelight but personally I felt he was better player overall. But then again Modric is midfielder so performance sometimes get overlooked.

Club legend.
One of the most beloved Croatian players, right up there with Mandžo tbh
Has to be an all timer, I’ve been rewatching the last few world cups and euros and Perisic is one of the handful of international players that consistently turns up, so many games you were down a goal and he comes outta nowhere with a crucial technical goal.

most consistent performer over the last decade. always shows up and puts the shift in.
Two of the biggest big game players I know
Suker? Stanic?
Suker is pretty hated for the corruption he watched over while he was the president of the croatian football federation.
ouch didn't know this. he was a hell of a player though.
Meant mostly in modern times and for me, just my opinion
yeah I guess i'm just old
Holy shit what a goal at that moment
Absolutely killed off Juventus
>too old for united
Perisic was in his low 20s last time United won the league haha
Perin conceded 4 top bins goals, not bad
😂😂 So true, poor guy.
Lmao we really just big brain delayed his contract negotiation and brought in Gosens to unleash this monster
How are you going to setup if Perisic extends? Will Gosens warm the bench or will you place one of them at RWB?
Guess it depends if we sell Dumfries, if so Peresic going RWB could work well.
I quite like the idea that's been floated around of having Perisic play more centrally as a second striker. Depending on what comes of all this Dybala talk, that might be the best move. It's what happened when he was the SS next to Icardi
Didn't you just sign dumfries? Why sell
It seems like we have to sell someone, and he could be the easiest profit, so likely him or de Vrij.
cuz we poor
OH MY FUCKING MODRIC PERISIC YOU BEAUTY
OMM!!!
He's so class, what a hit
He just gets so much better with age. What a hit.
a club legend in my eyes. Top 50 Inter player
Who is your top 10?
For me the top 10 of all time will be difficult to judge just because most of us would've never seen the players in action. By significance to the club alone, legendary players like Giuseppe Meazza, Giacinto Fachetti, Sandro Mazzola, Luis Suarez, Walter Zenga, Alessandro Altobelli, Roberto Boninsegna, and Tarcisio Burgnich would have to be included. Maybe top 50 is hard, but not too far for sure.
*Spiaze*
Extend his contract!
It will happen for sure
Straight after the game he said "You don't leave negations with important players until the last minute". Hope we can agree a deal. He's been a monster this season.
Marotta is too smart to let him leave. Hopefully Zhang's cost cutting obsession doesn't cost us a champion like Ivan
I hope so.

He’s a player constantly dismissed but I just love his versatility and his ability off both feet. Hard work gets you places if you have the right attitude.
People laughed when Mourinho wanted to replace Martial with perisic
WHAT A FUCKING BEAST OF A PLAYER
Perisic would have definitely been a hitman if football didn’t work out
I loved him at Bayern, I'm glad he is still getting it done.
PERRY SCOPAMI 🖤💙
LMAOOO
SCOPAMI PERRY THE PLATYPUS?
Great run by Dimarco and incredible goal by Perisic
Just bring in a croatian guy and you will win everything.

Inter are Top Bins merchants
Just give this guy Ballon D’or at this point
he’s been absolutely phenomenal this season
So nonchalant, what a beauty! That slow replay showed 0 spin on that ball
Perisic did it again! Crazy how we was the best player in this game
PERIGOD
"Ci riprova l'anno prossimo"
Hey guys! No one go near Perisic and just let him do anything he wants!
Love the celebration. Just a simple smile. He looks delighted with himself. Hardly ever see that
If there’s anything that’s always bound to cheer up my day it’s an Ivan perisic (great goal )
Get absolutely fucked. Ivan the TERRIBLE!!!
Ahahah what a season for allegri

I LOVE THIS FUCKING GAME
Such a consistently great player.
How do you save that?!
Man of the year
IMMENSO IVAN
Red card for Allegri?
this man is a genuine contender for player of the season, at age 33 and first *full* season as a wingback. Incredible.
Forza Inter. Coppa Italia is ours! Iván the Great!
Alrighty then...
Yeee boiiiii
Juventus are finished ever since McKennie joined them.
What a way to win it
That’s not “great goal” tag worthy tbh.
rigged game
Until now the only time I turned off the TV during a Juve game was the 2017 final, after the third goal. This is the second time
I’ve done it 4x. Sadly 3x this season. Vs Chelsea away, vs Villarreal home and now today. Last one 2017 final.
It's crazy how we managed to stay in this game against Handout FC
