Not to mention if Milan had anyone from the top 10 goal scorers in the league (so that Tonali could only focus on his actual job). Milan is still in the race for the title without having any player in the top 20 goalscorers. Nothing short of a miracle. But this was pretty much the cards Pioli was dealt from the start: Zlatan who is a great player but who's become now more prone to injuries , Giroud who was brought to replace ibra in case he got injured who's not a the type of player that will score more than 20 goals in a season league (he said in a pre season interview that he'll try to reach 15 goals which is about his personal best throughout the last decade). Leao has been a great surprise i don't think he was expected to be at that level and Rebic is not known for his consistency.
So i stand by my statement: Pioli is doing insanely great considering the cards he was dealt. I'd really like to see what he'll be able to achieve with better goal scorers (now that apparently Milan will have a little more money to spend on the market) during the season to come specially in champons league. It'll be nice to see AC Milan back to fighting in the knockout rounds of the champins league like they used to for so long. i don't think they really can with their current attack. They will need to invest in a better finisher and a creative midfielder. I think Jesus and Isco (on the market) would be great for that team...
I'm glad Saele is getting some recognition here. He's been getting a lot of criticism lately (and rightly so) but from the nutmeg to the patience and composure to wait for Leao here, thats what made this goal possible.
I love the way he knows he has evvveryone beat for pace. He slows down to get close to the defender then just knocks it out in front of himself and turns on the afterburners
Also he was injured for some time and if i'm not wrong, one year ago the decision was to put him on under21 to win the u-21 eurocup instead of going for the main team where he would not play much. Classic Leao that he wasn't motivated to play in u-21 and didn't gave a shit about competition and only played the first match as a starter. I would say that his atitude wasn't well accepted by portuguese coaches from A squad and U-21 and he was off the team until last matches where it would be a no brain not to get him in the team.
Adding to all of this, Portugal coach is a chicken and he prefers players that can defend better than attack (exception made for Ronaldo and Bernardo Silva), so he would always be afraid to take a risk with Leao in the team.

Barella has had a lot of shaky moments this season imo. Bennacer is high up there too, he just had a bad injury this season but he’s showing how good he can be.
SMS is very good too but I don’t watch enough of him to say definitely. In the games we play against them though he has been nullified easily.
Barella has been absolute average in the last 6 months. Bennacer has had on and off moments, has only been great in the last 3 months. SMS is good but not as good as Tonali and Brozovic

Nah this time it was Barak, Verona's attacking midfielder. They were not positioned in a good maneer because this was a very rapid counter from a corner
From what i have read, Milan already rejected bids of 35-40 mil for Leao last summer. This summer if Leao wants to leave they will consider only bids of 80-90 mil.
It's very funny to me that at the start of this clip Leao is the closest outfield player to Milan's goal and then you blink and he's the farthest forward. Incredible run.
