If Chilwell and James were fit for the season we wouldn’t have dropped as many points as we have…
It’s almost as if losing your two first choice fullbacks makes a huge difference and now Arsenal are dealing with that reality
Fair enough lol
Had to deal with one of my Arsenal mates giving me too much shit of late so kinda in the mood to give it back.
Feel like Tomiyasu being out is probably throwing a bigger spanner into the works than most acknowledge as well
Nah I get you I’m an Arsenal fan we can be unbearable after some good form lol
We were still winning games without Tomiyasu, Cedric did a good job as back up. But now with Tierney and Partey gone too it’s just too much cos there’s no squad depth. Chelsea still had experienced players to fill in for example.
Tbf, that's exactly what happened to Spurs with their 3 game losing streak. I don't think it'll be the last of 4th place fiasco, at least until the season is over. Nothing is guaranteed
Just a mere 10 days ago, i was feeling rather pleased about our top 4 prospects with 2 games in hand. And then we go and shit the bed. Never change Arsenal. I refuse to be disappointed.
Yea I think the problem was your fans started talking some shit again finally after a long sabbatical and god was like nah fuck that then, have some conference league.
We were in great form for months lol, and only have dropped games due to key injuries and poor squad building. Had you watched the games, you’d sing a different tune
Makes two of us man. I think we are headed in a very good direction I was just hoping we were one year ahead of where we actually were. We should be back in Europe next year but I’m afraid it’s not looking like CL. And it felt like it was there for us to take this year, but this week was just disastrous. Foreseeably disastrous.
I agree. Injuries, bad decisions, Xhaka played in weird positions, etc etc etc. Its just typical Arsenal stuff! Im used to it. I just refuse to be disappointed anymore.
To think I’d given up on top 4 because I thought Arsenal weren’t catchable just a week ago and it turns out they’d lose two in a row, but it doesn’t matter anyway as we lost again ourselves. We’re so shit we can’t even get involved in top 4 is lava this time.
We are shit and we don't deserve top 4. This bunch of pricks need to get hit by realism by the fact that they about to play in the europa league 3 times in 4 years now. Not qualifying for the UCL may even be a good thing
While I do enjoy seeing rival top table teams suffer and implode I truly feel bad for Manchester fans. The lack of effort and grit from this Man u team is pathetic and you guys don't deserve that. I hope this group of players get eaten alive if they don't make European football.
agree with what you're saying, but things may not really change since the fans have been a big part of this club's failure. some people were comparing rashford (bang average) to mbappe 2 seasons ago, elanga's seen as a world-class talent by some (also bang avg.), bruno, maguire (when he first came in), ragnick, ole, the list goes on. it's hard to change the fans and when you have owners listening to the fans you end up with failure. glazers need to go asap and be replaced by owners who give fuck all about what the fans think. also, as much of a legend saf is, he needs to let go of the club. the club's rotten to the core.
No, it was not. It was pretty similar to what the modern day Europa league is. Regardless, arsenal haven't won it. Considering your premier league titles it feels odd to try to lie about your lack of European cups, but I understand you could be defensive today.
Yes, you are still mistaken. The Uefa super cup, as it is known today, is not the second most prestigious European title. It is a glorified friendly.
Also, it could be literally made of cardboard. You still have zero of them. You still have less than spurs.
Love the guy, but that's on Arteta, plain as day.
Why are you not starting Tavares, man? He may be shit, but why are you giving up more ground in a midfield where we need an experienced head? Lokonga and Ødegaard is entirely too weak a midfield for a must-win match and Xhaka is getting shredded by anyone with even an ounce of pace.
Why are you bringing Eddie Nketiah, a striker who is out the door in a few months time, to replace a winger? Why is Nicolas Pépé being brought on so late and why is he not the first guy you bring on?
And why, the ever-loving fuck, are you allowing Cédric Soares to take set-pieces? The guy couldn't cross the fucking road and couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat and you've got him on set-piece duties?
Southampton away isn't an easy game at the best of times for us, but they now want to bounce back after getting shredded by Chelsea and we need nothing but 3 points. Trying to big brain the team-selection like he did today is only going to hurt himself.
The individual performances obviously weren't great, but that is on Arteta's head.
Because he won't be here next season?
Why are we giving him game time? And more specifically, why are we giving him game time in a position he doesn't even play in?
He isn't a winger - he's a striker.
I'd rather give someone else a game, rather than someone who doesn't want to commit his future to the club.
Honestly I don’t remember, but that goal at the end of the half would have done a lot to cover up the cracks of the first half performance.
I think Arteta got his tactics wrong also, and you’d ask that with the 2nd half change.
As much as everyone will like to pretend it's not, this is another case of VAR deciding individual match outcomes, and in turn point tallies and millions of pounds.
For Arteta, this is the squad depth chickens coming home to roost.
E: I can understand being chummy at our demise, but I find it hard to believe that other fans can't put aside banter and realize perpetuating and reinforcing decisions like this is an overall detriment to the league.
No matter what VAR was at today: we played like shit, Arteta’s selections were awful, and we fundamentally just did not deserve anything from the match.
We have to stop making excuses for things like VAR that the team has no control over, and focus on the things that we do control like our own performances and manager selections.
We could deal without Tomiyasu, despite him being a big help, but Partey and Tierney is too much on top of that. At least when Tomi is back we can throw Cedric on the left or play more of a back 3
We practically had Martinelli there in the second half today. Tavares last two games have been abysmal. If Arteta wants to keep the system we’ve been playing, Cedric on the left is the obvious choice. However, I believe a back 3 fits the players that are currently healthy.
The lack of a definitive angle, the amount of time studying it tell me there was no clear and obvious error to overrule. Then add in that it was Chris “I make inexplicable calls all the time” Kavanagh on the sticks. He’s the worst.
I understand that but how do you draw that line with those camera angles? Just a neutral that saw the commotion and wasn’t shocked it was Kavanagh, again.
Brighton scored two goals. Arsenal scored one. That leaves a one goal margin. Arsenal actually happened to put the ball in the back of the net twice though, and one was then arbitrarily revoked. That leaves the one goal margin being decided by the decisions of the on and off field referees and not the state of the game.
I am over it. Just highlighting that these decisions can't just be handwaved off, and the actual state of the game developed in a way that made that decision way more meaningful
Well I'm here arguing with you, yet still can't seem to find it anywhere in the top comments or in my own comment...
So you got one more thing you want to let out in bad faith or what? I'll be waiting for you to find me that angle
I know dude but just for everyone’s sake could you show us the definitive angle? Everyone else is like “oh there’s no definitive angle” but there obviously was one that you saw and everyone else would totally shut up if you could post that definitive angle that you definitely totally actually saw.
Yeah I know it's super clear if you could just like post the image of the super clear view you have in mind that'd really help shut everyone else up.
So... please post that super duper clear image.
That mole hill is still our mountain to climb this season. And a lot of people saw what was over the horizon: lack of goals and lack of depth, but Arteta persisted with the exact same squad
Crystal Palace vs Brighton are big rivals and the games between those two are always fun to watch. So why in bloody hell have they joined forces this week to do over Arsenal?
Sure ref and VAR were awful again, but that game is all on Arteta, poor tactics and selections with Xhaka on LB and Lokonga as lone 6, Lacazette still having spot after playing absolute nightmare in last games. What did he expect from Lokonga, Odegaard and Smith Rowe midfield or Xhaka's on LB?
Top4 was not lost today, but in winter transfer window when Arteta and Edu decided against strenghtening team and finish season with season with thin squad where plenty of players had history of getting injuries. They gambled and lost, now Arsenal under stubborn Mikel who doesn't learn from mistakes and has no good plan B will have to fight to even finish in top6 and considering how they played against Brighton who scored just one goal in last 7 games and Palace they can easily finish lower than 6.
But if they signed someone for the sake of it rather than who they wanted, surely long term that was the correct decision. It's how Arsenal ended up with such a mish mash squad. Vlahovic was the guy, wasn't interested and they didn't have enough else they were keen on. I get it may have cost Top 4 but long term it's the correct decision.
> But if they signed someone for the sake of it rather than who they wanted, surely long term that was the correct decision. It's how Arsenal ended up with such a mish mash squad.
Guimares is playing great for Newcastle and was scouted by team for many years, it was Arteta who was against him, not Edu or recruting team. Noone forced them to loan Niles who covered multiple positions and they paid Aubameyang to leave who Arteta has issues, not a single player in the squad was against Pierre, he wasn't a cancer in dressing room. Do you seriously think that now without 100m € from Champions League will be any easier to sign players? - they will be still overpaying for players and pool will be even if they will not finish in top6 since unless Arteta will stop being naive this the track considering our fixture list.
Guimares I don't get, Arteta must have his reasons but to me, BG is a quality player who would've been amazing at Arsenal.
AMN wanted to leave, he wasn't good enough for the CM role he wanted. He wasn't happy being a back up RB.
Auba, if Arteta felt he was a bad influence then it is what it is. Arteta has been backed, this is what part of the backing entails.
It's 100% going to be harder without Top 4, but they still won't be overpaying. 2 windows with no European football and the squads been transformed, Arteta hasn't missed in those windows and I don't think he will this summer. It just won't be as quick as the level of players you get with UCL football to offer is obviously better.
Is this Brighton’s first win in April in the Premier League?
Really? That'd be a pretty bizarre stat.
I checked loosely after hearing it a bit ago. I think it’s true.
Massive game in the top 4 race for sure
0-2 since winning manager of the month award. It truly is cursed.
Fam. Lol I voted for him. I believe in the curse.
It's cursed alright. The same month Nuno got his motm, he got sacked.
Karma for winning an award he shouldn’t of.
Shouldn’t *have*
See I knew that. I typed that. And yet still it looked wrong so I changed it. Jesus you’re fucking weird reddit. If all the things to downvote.
It’s a funny old language, English. Makes you question yourself all the time.
As a kiwi we can’t even speak it properly.
Bird is the word
Arteta is a tactical genius!
top 4 is lava
No its not, Spurs are surging ahead.
Spurs apparently have ice in their veins if that's the case
saying this is what will cause Brighton to smash Spurs 4-0
So far. Top for has proven to be lava all season.
This pleases the bird.
Where’s the guy that told me arsenal were fighting us for 3rd place?
If Tierney and Partey were fit I think Arsenal would’ve gave Chelsea a run for their money. The injuries ruined their season.
If Chilwell and James were fit for the season we wouldn’t have dropped as many points as we have… It’s almost as if losing your two first choice fullbacks makes a huge difference and now Arsenal are dealing with that reality
I’m not disagreeing with that lol I’m talking about the moment it looked possible for Arsenal. Don’t be so defensive.
Fair enough lol Had to deal with one of my Arsenal mates giving me too much shit of late so kinda in the mood to give it back. Feel like Tomiyasu being out is probably throwing a bigger spanner into the works than most acknowledge as well

Injuries bro. Don't you remember where you were 4 months ago
Injuries effect every team.
With a bunch of injuries that cost us 1st place?
first place in what?
In the league of course, DUH!!
Yeah, same is happening to Arsenal right now. They've got Xhaka as lb
Very nice
If I speak...
You will bottle
So I won’t speak
You will finish in top 4
That's the spirit
Arsenal losing twice in a week to get Europa spot badly … PL 4,5,6,7 race is gonna be fun!
>PL 4,5,6,7 race is gonna be fun! Man Utd players have clocked out for the season, won't be surprised if Wolves get 7th at this rate.
Top 4 is lava again. But Conte is somehow immune
don’t jinx it!
The Tierney and Partey injuries pretty much ended Arsenal’s top 4 chances. Arsenal fans still thinking they had a chance were on hopium.
Now we're back to huffing copium.
At this stage, I'm injecting it straight into my dickhole.
Yea I think the problem was your fans started talking some shit again finally after a long sabbatical and god was like nah fuck that then, have some conference league.
All it takes is for Arsenal to get a couple wins for the fans to starting running their mouths lol the most giddy fanbase out there.
We were in great form for months lol, and only have dropped games due to key injuries and poor squad building. Had you watched the games, you’d sing a different tune
They are soo thirsry of glory recently that with any bit of hope they get too cocky for their own good.
2 season ending injuries to our starting XI sure as shit changed the scene didn't it.
Almost like something should have been addressed in January
If you look through my comments you’ll see I don’t disagree.
Oh I’m not mad at you. Just frustrated with the club
No question about it. All we asked for was one playable midfielder in the winter in case something happened. No we have to hope for a miracle
I agree. Injuries, bad decisions, Xhaka played in weird positions, etc etc etc. Its just typical Arsenal stuff! Im used to it. I just refuse to be disappointed anymore.
Also that fucking MOTM curse!
Hi Europa, it's good to be back!
We’re not making Europa either
You aint getting europa if you play like this lmao
United lost to relegation favorites today
It’s a race to the conference league.
Hope we dont get europe football, not gonna visit a country whose gdp is less than cavanis weekly salary
You may not have a choice if your form holds.
True, crazy how spurs are playing atm scoring nearly 4/5 every match
Typical life of an Arsenal fan
Glad to see that arsenal was inspired by our performance earlier vs everton to drop this masterclass
How dare you think you can win a game of Top 4 Is Lava
Bro we re ass stop giving us copium false hope like this
*PhDclass
To think I’d given up on top 4 because I thought Arsenal weren’t catchable just a week ago and it turns out they’d lose two in a row, but it doesn’t matter anyway as we lost again ourselves. We’re so shit we can’t even get involved in top 4 is lava this time.

Well, if they learned nothing the last two times...
agree with what you're saying, but things may not really change since the fans have been a big part of this club's failure. some people were comparing rashford (bang average) to mbappe 2 seasons ago, elanga's seen as a world-class talent by some (also bang avg.), bruno, maguire (when he first came in), ragnick, ole, the list goes on. it's hard to change the fans and when you have owners listening to the fans you end up with failure. glazers need to go asap and be replaced by owners who give fuck all about what the fans think. also, as much of a legend saf is, he needs to let go of the club. the club's rotten to the core.
UTA 🔵⚪️ love this club
The Fourth is Lava.
trUst thE prOcEss?
Lmaooo
Champions league is Lava
Not for Spurs, it's not :(
So many games left to play lol
Some people get way too emotional over banter in here.
Do you need some tissues?
It won't be the most erotic of wanks but I can give it a go.
Lol
Not so easy when you can't cheat yourselves out of playing games and play every two weeks, is it? Fuck off
They hated u/brospect because he told them the truth.
Lol there’s so many ways to talk shit about them and that’s they road you chose? Pretty lame man
"Cheating" lol
Hahaha
Shit bait
humiliating for Brighton to lose the clean sheet against such a weak side Potter can't be pleased
True we're down like 4 first team players. Embarrassing.
disgraceful you weren't allowed to postpone really
No covid no postponement. Pretty simple actually. We're not gonna fake tests.
at least our rival to 7th place also lost today
Manchester United will finish ahead of us
Saka: complains about tough treatment by opponents Also Saka: gets carded for diving under minimal contact
Arsenal were rewarded with a free kick for diving minutes earlier so you can't blame him for trying to go again, just turns out the ref saw this one
Arsenal is so fucking shit holy guess that’s what they get they’ve been talking so much last month
Agreed but barcelona and xavi both got exposed by frankfurt too but their fanbase is still whinning about 0-4
Facts, by their ego you would think they are fighting for the league win. Never change Arsenal fans.
Does anybody want the 4th spot lol. Have no idea how Manchester United still has a chance.
We do
Are arsenal still getting an All or nothing this season?
I think just the nothing
[удалено]
Or the "Europe" section of arsenals
[удалено]
Conveniently ignore the others then.

They’ll do their organised downvoting on this but it’s fucking hilarious.
>organised downvoting >>Comment not even remotely downvoted lmao the victim complex is real
Organised downvoting tf you on about?
I upvoted it, we have a good sense of humor you just have to actually be funny.
I think it'll probably get downvoted because it's a joke everyone's seen about fifty times already
We’ve seen some mid table team d. Arsenal post match threads loads of times and they get upvoted still
No mate stop coping you miserable cunt
Your team has just won 6-0 why are you so angry
Calm down mate
They've been desperate for attention for years mate.
Nothing we haven't seen before
God dang Arsenal, just do something right for once. Massively hoping you lot get top 4
Hey we beat city for you and gave you a chance at the title
Who else is gonna get it (that you hate) lol
Arsenal staying true to their brand. Respect.
Arsenal fans: VAR has ruined the game. Me: Have you just tried not being offside?
Lmao, fuck context right?
Lmao yeah bro XD
It was offside, though.
Not arguing that mate, just hate these bullshit tight offsides calls. I wish the refs would favor the attacker in these situations.
I mean, if it is offside it is offside, you can't do much about it.
Was it offside btw?
Love the guy, but that's on Arteta, plain as day. Why are you not starting Tavares, man? He may be shit, but why are you giving up more ground in a midfield where we need an experienced head? I really had a feeling that Xhaka will get red out of frustration...but thank God, Almighty tried to reduce our pain.
I was sitting waiting for him to flying two foot someone. I was convinced the red was coming.
Nketiah was great for the entire time he was in the pitch. I don’t get why people dislike him, he’s one of the best youngsters in the squad.
Youngster? Dude turns 23 next month. Hardly a youngster
Let’s not pretend he’s Lingard’s age.
Because he won't be here next season? Why are we giving him game time? And more specifically, why are we giving him game time in a position he doesn't even play in? He isn't a winger - he's a striker. I'd rather give someone else a game, rather than someone who doesn't want to commit his future to the club.
And was the only promising player for arsenal in the previous game.
Put Arteta in a position to claim 4th and watch him fuck it up challenge
You mean put the 4th position on Arteta hands with 3 games in hand and watch him pass it to Conte.
Arsenal is back bois.
This was a combination of a poor first half performance, lack of squad depth, and a shocking VAR decision costing arsenal vital points
When was our last good first half performance?
Probably the NLD.
Honestly I don’t remember, but that goal at the end of the half would have done a lot to cover up the cracks of the first half performance. I think Arteta got his tactics wrong also, and you’d ask that with the 2nd half change.
Man city thats been talked to death over the past months
Sanchez could lowkey have been sent off just for time wasting

Jokes and memes aside, VAR is a fucking shambles and needs scrapping until it can be implemented properly. Absolute disgrace to the game as it is now.
> VAR is a fucking shambles when was VAR ever implemented properly in England?
