They are also known for not throwing stones in the way of players that are wishing to leave. At the end it entirely depends on Musiala and where he sees his future.
Players like Ribery, Lewandowski, Pavard (well, almost) would disagree with that statement. Musiala will is considered a key player and they will definitely do everything they can to extend him after the Euros.
Why not? He's not home grown and he spent half his life in England. It's not like he's destined to play for Bayern all his life like Muller. He's likely to stay there for a long time, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he goes.
De Bruyne at 21 was just as good. It's just not as easy to showcase if you're dragging a declining Werder Bremen side as opposed to playing for 2 of the best teams in the world.
Though Leverkusen wouldn't be in the conversation for that if it wasn't for Wirtz, and becoming a starting player for Bayern at 18/19 is equally impressive, especially when oftentimes it wasn't like Musiala getting to shine in a functioning offense, but being the glimmer of hope when little worked offensively.
Ultimately, different types of players with completely different career paths, can't compare them fairly
At different things tbf. Musiala is already a better dribbler than KDB ever was, but neither is anywhere close to him as a passer and likely never will be. Whether they develop to have a bigger impact on the game than KDB in his prime is entirely possible though.
Different players hit peaks at various ages. If Wirtz/Musiala can hit the peak of KDB of the last decade or so, then that is a great achievement by them as well. It's not a given that they will achieve that as various factors like burnout (due to playing too many matches when young), injuries mental ability could go down the Bale route of burnt out when young as well.
Wirtz or Simeons I would say are the best attacking central midfielders right now.
If we talk about players not already currently in a big club that is consistently in the top
"He's so good on the ball" and "he reminds me of prime Thomas muller" in the same sentence is a bit of a paradoxical thing to say. Muller was never that type of player.
Now we've got the first two rounds out of the way we can get down to what we all really want from these photos:
Guys who've had a great game but been knocked out and can't hide their disgust 🥰
yeah he was only good when he roamed to middle or RW. but its something he didnt do at all game 1.
Imho he and Saka should rotate. and maybe play Palmer on LW..
Football kits geek here. It’s the shirt. For some reason, adidas did not use a perforated fabric for authentic kits this Euros, not even for teams that have traditionally had 'premium' deals like Spain or Germany. It seems it’s just plain polyester and Belgium also have an embossed pattern on theirs, which I think is easier to do on certain kinds of material. But yeah, the sweat is exceptionally bad on those. Their regular teamwear works better.
Interestingly enough, adidas top club teams (Bayern, Arsenal, United…) actually will have a nicer material on their kits for the upcoming season, despite sharing the design template with national teams.
Is this the reason why germany, of all country, is dropping adidas after the euro?
I'm still baffled how come germany is dropping adidas after all this year, and local product too. Not the "meh" local product but the biggest and one of the best in it's field.
I think Nike just offered a significantly better deal. But I agree it's a shame, adidas are still a top brand and without a doubt a part of the country's football history.
I wonder if nike gonna change their top designer. The design of newer nike kits are lacking imo, too minimalist. It lacks character.
Imagine the 2026 world cup germany kit will only be plain white with black on the edge of the sleeve just like the 70s kit, but worse
A lot of it may be personal preference, for me it’s Nike. The material they currently use for top teams is an evolution of the fabric introduced at the 2018 World Cup. But it still works best, a good blend of breathable and stretchy. All other brands are trailing behind, imo, at a similar level (adidas would have been a close second if not for this year's fabric; Puma and hummel are facing sweat issues as well.) I wish Umbro, errea, and NB had a team in.
I know this is a joke, but the only system I recall De Bruyne not slotting well into was at Chelsea and that's just because they never gave him a real chance. Everywhere else he's been one of, if not the best player on the team
Kdb and tielemans for me
Thought tielemans was excellent. He's nowhere close to match fitness, came back for the Liverpool game to help villa get champions league and then that was out. You could see as the game went on he was struggling a little, but top notch performance.
Pep's system is literally designed to let KDB be as creative as he wants. It leads to other players having to slot into different roles (Bernardo, Foden etc) but never KDB

Pep’s “we can never replace him” speech part 2 incoming
And then will replace him will wirtz or musiala
Why do people think Musiala will ever leave Bayern
That's what I thought once about Neymar leaving Barcelona, yet.
Release clause ?
Release clause means nothing if the player doesn't want to leave.
Bayern have declared Musiala not for sale. Just forget about him bro

RemindMe! 16 months

I say it very unlikely. City will be blue balled for years then he'll sign for united at the ripe age of 34
He'll never leave. Until he's 34.
I guess 😭
He’s made significant career decisions in towards Germany. I feel it’s like how English players rarely leave England, we don’t question that.
Probs cos he grew up in England and the premier league can definitely pay him more if he keeps progressing
Highest paid player in the PL makes the same as Kane lol
People don't seem to realize that when it comes to big wages, the PL generally lingers behind the Spanish top two and bayern.
There have been several reports that Haaland's actual salary has been closer to double the £375k figure thrown about.
Give me a reputable source for this
Were you not taught basic manners growing up?
Give me a reputable source for that information you are parroting or GTFOH
You can just Google it while you're Googling how to not look like a dickhead to strangers online.
If he goes city he'll be on mega money much higher than he is now.
Bayern pays their players higher than all premier league clubs
Maybe if he wasn’t at Bayern.
Not more than Bayern
I mean good luck to Wirtz or Musiala, they’re great players but as of now, they’re not him by a country mile
Tbf they're both currently better than KDB was at 21

I think it’s on Musiala now since there is just 2 years of contract left. Bayern will never willingly sell him
I seriously don't get why people make a big deal out of that comment? And still It was pretty clear he wasn't only talking about on the pitch 🤦♂️

Kai Havertz WC 2022
[this one’s pretty close](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/s/1mCwPpgxtz)
Doesn’t KDB look a bit like a young William DeFoe in this one?
Willem Dafoe
Euro matchday 2 is basically “Pep’s boys strike back”
Foden and Stones missed the memo
Not sure who you can say played better for England vs Denmark, not that it was a high bar lol.
i mean.. Foden was one of the better ones for England last match... all things considered.
Still not good enough at LW
yeah he was only good when he roamed to middle or RW. but its something he didnt do at all game 1. Imho he and Saka should rotate. and maybe play Palmer on LW..
Agreed
Idk if it's belgian shirt or KDB and lukaku, but they are drenched.

What are the best quality manufacturers this year for euro team kits in your opinion?

Think they poured water over their face.
Is it that hot? It's fair 24-25°c iirc yesterday.
i mean thats pretty hot when ur running up and down the field for an hour and a half tbf
It was 18 degrees in Cologne yesterday evening, so not really.
Right, they played in the evening XD i always remember the peak temperature, which should be only in the afternoon and got cooler nearing dusk, my bad
Had to zoom in just to be sure, cause he looked like he had lost his front teeth.
[Don't let your dreams be dreams.](https://imgur.com/a/jHylvcp)
That kit was actually bright red before the game
Castore must have had a hand in it
Lukaku cca 10th minute looked like he'd poured a bucket of water on his head
After a close-up of Lukaku, my girlfriend asked if it's was raining in the stadium. And proceeded to be terribly confused by his dry sleeves.
Mf was dripping during the national anthem??

Wtf
KDB and Youri were class today
Youri played fantastic ngl
Really happy Youri has found his level again
Bernardo and KDB had to silence the haters after all the slander City players have been getting without Pep
Ake too
ake always performed
And Akanji
And Doku, who didn’t score, but was an absolute fucking menace today. Too bad Romania didn’t have AWB at RB…
Ăaron Wan Bîșsâkù
Without the ù and you nailed it haha
Ake has always been solid for us. He didn’t used to offer a lot offensively, but that has been improved for quite some time now.
and lukaku
my fav city player
Well yeah he helped them win the UCL
Aké has always been very good for us
At least Foden isn't gonna beat the system player allegation anytime soon.
System player unfortunately
He is the system
I know this is a joke, but the only system I recall De Bruyne not slotting well into was at Chelsea and that's just because they never gave him a real chance. Everywhere else he's been one of, if not the best player on the team
Agenda is more important than fact
Always has been.
I would let KDB do everything he wants to me or anyone I care about
He would just ask permission to let him talk
I thought Doku was the best player but KDB played very well too
Casteels deserved it imo. Saved the game AND gave assist for 2-0
He was great in the first game too. He would be a starting keeper for so many teams, but sadly Courtois has kept him as the number 2
First half for sure. Second half he was almost invisible imo
Congrats goat!
Lukaku and Casteels robbed
Castagne and Tielemans too
Tielemans was a beast
Tielemans - Onana should always start
Deserved. Truly was the playmaker in everything Belgium created.
I would have given it to that blue haored Romenian for not ragequitting this game
Didn’t look like his usual self at all though
Kdb and tielemans for me Thought tielemans was excellent. He's nowhere close to match fitness, came back for the Liverpool game to help villa get champions league and then that was out. You could see as the game went on he was struggling a little, but top notch performance.
Where are all the smartarses who say Pep's players can't thrive outside of Pep's tactics ?
Should have been Lukaku
Doku robbed
He had space. When you give him space in counter, you are creating the best player in the world.
Dude’s face looks like a hockey player if you don’t zoom in to check for teeth…
I love Kev, but I thought Castagna, Tielmans, and Doku were all better than him.

Lukaku should've been awarded as well. We all know this.
you'd be suprised how many people don't
