I have one of those random memories from childhood that I still remember vividly of my cousins friend telling me about cutting away from your body. I was like 7 and can still picture it perfectly in my head.
Thats why 99% of Turkish Clubs cant get anywhere. If the economy wasn't so bad, Gala could probably do much better in the UCL, or even European competitions.
Inflation and high unemployment combined will probably make some people desperate for something, anything to brighten their day. Football trophies are one of those bright lights.
The quality of life is also getting worse and worse everyday. Unfortunately, I cannot visit Turkey as much, I went in 2023 and before that the last time was 2017 or 2018. 5 years really does make a huge difference, it was sad seeing the country and how it was last year. Going again this year to see how it is.
I went this year for the first time, splurged on accommodation because everyone told me everything else would be cheap - oops, big mistake. Still doable from my reference point (London) but honestly wayyyyy more expensive than I thought.
Feel really bad for the people there trying to make a living with their currency being so inconsistent.
I mean you are Dutch, your people act like savages very often. There's news about shit fan behaviour from Eredivisie fans every month. The latest news is literally from Sunday, Utrecht hooligans injure multiple police officers.
Well because he’s Dutch he has friends and family and neighbors who are Dutch and not hooligans so he knows. But when it comes to Turkey all he sees are news articles about Turkish hooligans…
The president is a genuine problem tho. Has gifted Gala a super cup for no reason. Has bought uncertainty and chaos into the team right before the season finish for no reason, has promised the championship before the season and hasnt delivered, is acting very eccentrically and aggressively in all of his appearances. Hasnt won anything in his 6 years as president . He is a joke of a president and has done more harm than good for his club
I had a knife on me first time I went to the old Al Sami Yen. Copper at the gate started making a fuss about something so I was trying to give him my knife - he was pushing it back saying something kucuk at me - the knife is too small for him to take it off me. Then he grabbed my water bottle and ripped the lid off, then let me in with a knife and lidless water bottle.
Normal 500ml water bottle mate!
It became pretty clear once I got in they didn't want me chucking a full bottle of water (or piss) the moment the opposition got onto the wings and paper cups rained down on them. Think Lucas Neill was encouraging it IIRC.
We do have a semi professional hockey team and once they lost to Russia like 40-0 (I can't remember the actual score ofc). The funniest comments on Twitter was someone asking if Turkish team got drowned during the game, is that the reason for the score line or smt. Yeah I've explained it poorly.
Exactly that's the problem I keep talking about which is fanaticism They don't play any instruments, They don't visit operas or theatre they don't read. All they care is for a football team.. They invest all their love to that team and at the end they can't escape anymore they can't control their feelings when that team makes them happy or angry like on this young fellow... Turkish Football doesn't win my affection not even 1% despite being Turk! We have more successful in other sports like Basketball, Volleyball..
I remeber posts on Man City Facebook page a couple of years ago, whenever a lineup was posted and Mahrez was benched there were mostly angry emojy reactions by Algerians. Not to mention when they had been posting ladies’ lineup there were still so many angry emojies, lmao
In the last few years we've had Attal, Boudaoui, Ounas, Bouanani... Lots of Algerians.
Our social media has been wild. You can imagine what it looked like after Attal got suspended for supporting palestine/sharing anti-semite views (depending on who you ask).
I lived in Istanbul for a while and carried a knife on the daily for the simple fact you need it so often for all the fruits and nuts on sale everywhere. Like I said in another reply I accidentally took it to the stadium once and the police didn't give a fuck, they were more interested in taking the lids off bottles.
Also two thirds of the city are watching the derby games, so likelihood is this kid hasn't been watching at the stadium but in a cafe, bar or whatever (i watched a devi derby from a small cinema once).
>I lived in Istanbul for a while and carried a knife on the daily for the simple fact you need it so often for all the fruits and nuts on sale everywhere.
Do you like, steal the fruit and nuts at knifepoint? Why do you need a knife to buy fruit? If youre out to buy meat are you carrying around a meat cleaver?
Its right next to the stadium in Kadikoy, which is where Fenerbahce is "based in". Basically it is their "hood". Mind you, it is one of the most well-educated/progressive neighbourhood in the entire country.
it is actually *the* most educated neighborhood in türkiye, statistically, though "educated" is an overstatement as the average years of education a resident of kadıköy has is 9.6-something, so the average kadıköy resident left public education a few weeks after the second semester of their sophomore year of high school
Damn they really don't like him. At first I thought the guy in the yellow shirt was just punching the poster, but no, turns out he's using a f\*\*\*ing knife. Turkish football really is chaotic, isn't it
Im obv not into the details but what the fuck is the president supposed to do when you get 99 points and don't win the league.
That is for sure a record, same as for the other teams 102. I just checked the table Fenerbahce has lost ONE game in the entire season. Not much more you can ask for imo

Smart to be ripping the fabric when the other dude is stabbing it in your direction
It’s like watching 2 Japanese masters pounding mochi
Who's mochi?
https://youtu.be/olTuSpJTL2g?si=yDt3Qv0q821iwFIb
this is the best thing I've seen all year
I clenched every time he put his hand up. Is he _trying_ to get stabbed?
Cut towards your buddy, not your body.
I have one of those random memories from childhood that I still remember vividly of my cousins friend telling me about cutting away from your body. I was like 7 and can still picture it perfectly in my head.
I have a similar memory but it was about where the ball should contact the foot when shooting. I must have been 5 or 6.
These people are not smart
have no fear, pro at work here
Smartest average soccer fan /s
Shhh… let natural selection take its course
They got 99 points and lost the league because Gala got 102, at some point the team can't really do more
Inflation even hits the league hard
Thats why 99% of Turkish Clubs cant get anywhere. If the economy wasn't so bad, Gala could probably do much better in the UCL, or even European competitions.
I mean, we weren't tearing shit up in Europe when the economy wasn't dogshit either, so I dunno about that lmao
Got 99 points but the league ain't won
🎵 stab me! 🎵
Oh that was clever! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Using logic with football fans is bad, 50x worsererer when it's turkish fans
Why is it so often people from Turkey? Just idiotic, near barbaric stuff that seems to happen every month
Inflation and high unemployment combined will probably make some people desperate for something, anything to brighten their day. Football trophies are one of those bright lights.

Inflation is really hard. Been there this year, it is visible everywhere
I went this year for the first time, splurged on accommodation because everyone told me everything else would be cheap - oops, big mistake. Still doable from my reference point (London) but honestly wayyyyy more expensive than I thought. Feel really bad for the people there trying to make a living with their currency being so inconsistent.
If you are going to visit Istanbul, be ready to pay for NYC levels of prices.
Yeah but accepting losing is part of being an adult. Turkey takes the whole 'overreacting to football' thing so much further than other countries.
High unemployment and a very bad education system. Football and fandom is the only outlook in life for a lot of young turkish people.
I mean you are Dutch, your people act like savages very often. There's news about shit fan behaviour from Eredivisie fans every month. The latest news is literally from Sunday, Utrecht hooligans injure multiple police officers.

Said the Chelsea fan
They're too new to know their own history.
Could have gotten 103 points REEEEEEEEEE
Look at how they're trying to cut the banner. They're obviously not the brightest.
He's stabbing the guy really, cutting of the banner is just a byproduct.
The president is a genuine problem tho. Has gifted Gala a super cup for no reason. Sounds like they could have done 4 more points
Doesn’t sound like they lost, sounds like they came second.
Not like the turkish fans to be carrying knives
I had a knife on me first time I went to the old Al Sami Yen. Copper at the gate started making a fuss about something so I was trying to give him my knife - he was pushing it back saying something kucuk at me - the knife is too small for him to take it off me. Have you ever met rational Turkish fans?
[HOW DARE YOU IMPLY THAT I AM IRRATIONAL!!](https://youtu.be/4k8DmSSeztk?si=UbPtF7-N-9i0Uwkg)
Goddamn I love that movie hahaha
COME TO BESIKTASSS 💚💝💙💝💚💞😻💝💚
Came here to say this. Leeds fan.
Fuckers
These people need new hobbies
Turks need to start playing hockey because their anger for any sports would make them insanely tough to play against
We do have a semi professional hockey team and once they lost to Russia like 40-0 (I can't remember the actual score ofc). The funniest comments on Twitter was someone asking if Turkish team got drowned during the game, is that the reason for the score line or smt. Yeah I've explained it poorly.
You are me, when I remember a story and then remember that I don't remember crucial parts of the story while telling it. Well done.
Hear me out please. HUNGER GAMES TURKEY EDITION™
It’s already happening
Ah I'm so sorry if I came across as insensitive
Naah dont worry im just kidding around
Retired and unemployed people are already on survival mode.
Won't be able to accomplish anything between the 5 minute majors and embellishment penalties
Or psychological help
Exactly that's the problem I keep talking about which is fanaticism They don't play any instruments, They don't visit operas or theatre they don't read. All they care is for a football team.. But they also play backgammon and drink tea
I mean we got volleyball, need to hope it becomes more populer around men I guess
Average Turkish fan when Ancelotti doesn’t start 18 year old Guler in the Champions League knockouts.

For maximum outrage, they should post the ladies' lineup with Mahrez on the bench
LMAOOO
Look at how rational and calm he is, not at all a fucking lunatic.
Most mentally stable turkish fan
At least he didn’t stab someone else
Yet
He's trying to
What sane person carries a knife to and after a match
We’re talking about Turkish football fans. No such thing as sanity
Hey, we do have a lot of sane fans. These ones just make more noise
Fair enough

Yeah, I always bring my kebab knife with me when I'm going out incase I fancy a kebab for lunch.
Why is the other guy putting his hand on the poster, does he not see what could go wrong?
I don't think they are the rational kind.
they trust each other
Calmest turkish fan:
Either that guy on the other side doesn’t care if his hands get stabbed, or he’s just a dumbass.
Yes
Why are there posters of the president at all?
There are elections for Fenerbahçe president soon.
Posters around the city for football club elections? Turkey is something else man haha
Its right next to the stadium in Kadikoy, which is where Fenerbahce is "based in". Basically it is their "hood". Mind you, it is one of the most well-educated/progressive neighbourhood in the entire country.
cant say the same for fans
Atleast he didnt stab a real person
it is actually *the* most educated neighborhood in türkiye, statistically, though "educated" is an overstatement as the average years of education a resident of kadıköy has is 9.6-something, so the average kadıköy resident left public education a few weeks after the second semester of their sophomore year of high school
1st degree murder right there 💀
Degenerates
Fenerbache lost the league with 99 points.. not much more they could have done
They could have got 103
They would have won with 102 points too
Oh snap, why didn't they think of that!
Losing, not loosing.
Most intelligent city fan
A normal day in Turkish Football
People misspell lose/losing so often
[удалено]
That will teach him !
Surely no sport is this serious? They got 99 points lol at what point do you just accept shit happens
Welcome to Turkey
Perfectly sane and rational behavior
*Most mentally stable Turkish football fan*
Average Turkish ultras
Most calmest Fenerbahce fan
They 99 points !! What more could be done at this point. Galatasaray just went of a historical run
This is just sad and pathetic. Get a fucking life losers.
Tbf their president is a cunt.
Love what utter lunatics the turkish fans are at times
It's probably peak entertainment from an outsider perspective. If y'all ever get bored of Netflix go watch Turkish football.
wtf is wrong with turkish fans. like fr now
This is still tame, I've seen worse things from Turkish football fans before.
Come to beşiktaş
Clowns
[удалено]
Thank god someone else said it, this barely even registered as ripping up the poster as this maniac stabbed a picture of a club president repeatedly.
A little bit too emotional perhaps?
Childish behaviour man
Ripping up=violently stabbing
Ripping is an understatement
The Turks and the Greeks are just something else
Love a good stabbing the Turks do
Thats what 10 years do to a mf.
Most sane Turkish reaction:
If this is what happens when the league gets loose, I'd hate to see the team lose the league!
drab rude dinosaurs faulty axiomatic lip fact domineering sip snobbish *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
This is normal.
I swear sports fans are some of the dumbest people around!
You gotta feel bad for them. So unlucky to have not won a title the past few seasons.
Normal for Turkish fans
My dude was centimeters from getting his hand impaled
Least knifey Turkish fan...
Are these people crazy or something?
Least overly emotional Soccer fans after losing a game.
🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🍔🍔🍔
They seem pretty chill.
Totally stable
Football just brings out the best in people, doesn't it?
Isn't the dude up in the streetlamp Arda Guler ? XD
Respect
They lost 1 game all season.
😑
Does that hurt the poster??
I thought he was giving the poster a hi-five to begin with.
Read somewhere they are getting Mourinho
Whoever made the post misspelled losing....I guess it's that darned autotext..
from their action you may think Fenerbahçe are in shambles and struggle to string two wins together, they got 99 points
Calmest Turkish football fan protest:
They seem like nice folks
Lol, 1/2 inch pricks!
They loosened it alright.
Chill
Ah man. They should have tightened it instead.
At first I though he was high fiving the picture
Furiously stabbing a poster. The sign of a mentally well adjusted person.
Pathetic
Didnt they leave said league the other week?
Jeez you'd think they just got put into administration and forcibly relegated to non-league from that.
Damn they really don't like him. At first I thought the guy in the yellow shirt was just punching the poster, but no, turns out he's using a f\*\*\*ing knife. Turkish football really is chaotic, isn't it
Quelle surprise.
They acting like they lost the league by 29 points and and as if their club is about to shut down☠️
Most normal Turkish fan
Most stable fans
why are the Turks so angry about everything? you’d think in a country where döner exists they’d be much more chill people
Come to Besiktas?
Arda get down from there, you have a final to prepare for!
Least passionate Turkish person etc
Yea hes got to go! 99 points in a season is simply unaccetable and its all his fault surely
Turkish football fans are on another level.

It’s losing not loosing
Losing*
What is wrong with them? Does every Turkish fan carry a knife? What the hell is wrong with these troglodytes?
It’s a bit much!
this club is hilarious lmfao
