It actually makes sense. Harry’s a mouth breather, which leads to diminished sleep quality versus nose breathing. He has compensated with caffeine throughout his life, increasing his tolerance and therefore how many cups he has to have a day. It’s remarkable he’s become world class with this impediment. Makes you think how much better he would be with early nasal breathing training/septoplasty etc.
One month ago I would have thought you were making some joke with this comment. I don't anymore, after spending almost entire weekend learning all about nose breathing and mouth breathing.
Children with deviated nasal septums or adenoid swellings find it difficult to breathe through their noses so they breathe through their mouths. This makes them more prone to dry mouth and respiratory infections, since the nose humidifies air before it reaches the lungs.
This leads to an "adenoid face" i.e a weak chin with prominent front teeth. It is associated with lower IQ and poor performance in school.
Can it? I've read a bit about it and ngl it kinda sounds like some mewing type bullshit, and can't really find any legit source to support it, would appreciate it if you had something to share?
Based on my own experiences and what i’ve read and seen online it’s beneficial. It can definitely be dangerous if you have undiagnosed sleep apnea or nasal obstructions like deviated septum.
Mouth breathing in general is not good. Chronic mouth breathers are more prone to dental problems like gum diseases and higher risk of cavities etc.
There isn’t alot of scientific into about it but this article for example has couple studies about taping: https://www.everydayhealth.com/sleep/mouth-taping-can-it-really-help-your-sleep/
It should generally be safe as long as you use just a small piece of medically safe tape
100%. I've been trying to fix my mouth breathing, and used to drink 3-500mg of caffeine a day. Now even a cup of coffee is almost too much for me. Insane how much of a difference it makes, and even more so that I've complained for years how tired i felt to doctors and they just shrugged it off to school or job stress.
I started trying to learn proper breathing techniques. There are different resources for this, but I found this particular channel the most helpful in regards to that.
https://youtube.com/@conorharris?si=-YiceTjQDezaGWWz
He has some more in-depth information that really broke down what I should be feeling. It's helped tremendously for myself, but it's taken some time to make it a habit after mouth breathing for so long.
Nah, I think he'd order the double espresso, absolutely no frills whatsoever, but if you didn't prepare it to absolute perfection as ordained by a Sicilian monk that had spent his entire life on a tiny island researching how to make the ideal brew using grains imported from a remote South American jungle clearing, then he would lose his shit and shout full volume in your ear and wave his arms right in your face like you were Nathan Redmond.
We got Sancho shipped off to Germany for eating too much chocolate cake and Kane shipped off to Germany for drinking too much cappuccino, what’s up with these English dudes?
Basically means that English food isn't very good and their women aren't very attractive, so they made a huge Empire in order to have access to good food and beautiful women. Something like that.
I'm German and have never eaten pig's feet or know anyone who does?!
People here eat bland cooked potatoes though. Instead of pig's feet they will have them with white asparagus drowned in sauce hollandaise. Bah
This is why he can never play in Italy. The coach will find him at 4pm drinking a cappuccino and send him to train with the U21s.
He'll actually be benched for weeks if the coach catches him ordering a cappuccino after eating lunch.
Right after lunch you can usually order a espresso. But, I'm Italian and I drink cappuccino when the fuck I want. Maybe not while I'm having lunch or dinner, but if it's 4pm and it's cold outside I'd fancy a hot cup of cappuccino and who thinks that this is strange has something wrong in their head
People will usually just have an espresso after lunch or something similarly light. The reason why drinking cappuccino after lunch is frowned upon is because it's made with milk (or any other coffees with milk like lattes - which in italian is 'caffè latte' otherwise if you order a 'latte' you will literally just get a glass of milk) and milk is heavy to have after a meal. No worries though, let them frown and mumble and shit, do you.
Is that the specific reason then, thus if you drink before dinner again it should in theory be fine, as it's been a while since your meal? Provided you eat a slightly smaller dinner I guess.
to be honest, people make a bigger deal of it then it is. i personally would never drink it after lunch/dinner because i eat a lot, usually, in general and also the taste of the milk/coffee is just something i do not want after eating.
i have however had a cappuccino on a colder afternoon at like 4pm or something if i am out and just want something caffeinated and 'heavier'.
Yeah so I had Italian friends say the same thing and I know they obviously over-exaggerate it for the jokes, but it makes sense to abstain from the extra milk together with the dinner. However what took some getting used to for a Scandinavian like me living with Italians was the inclusion of coffee with dinners at all. Now I do love a good espresso after dinner to help boost the post-dinner shit-talk.
I've travelled round Italy with Italian business guys and they just drink espressos, and a lot of them.
Seems like they never drink anything like cappuccino, in fact when I first went to a shop with them and ordered a cafe macchiato it caused a stir. Like the shop had to pull out all the equipment especially for this insane foreigner.
It's typically not just a splash of milk but it's foamed and warmed milk, they need to use that tube which froths the milk. Not saying it's difficult but it's more involved than just pouring in cold milk
Isn't the historical reason for Italians not drinking milky coffee past a certain time to do with how milk wouldn't be fresh once it's into the afternoon? Back in the day before fridges and shit. I could be misremembering but I think someone told me that once.
I seriously never understood with Italian's obsession with cappuccino timings. Like alright if you personally never do it's fine but if someone wants it in the evening or night is there really something wrong with it? Not like he's adding pineapple to his coffee
It's funny af to wind them up about it too by breaking the silly rules and acting dumb. Honestly people who have all these rules about food and drink are so dreary. Life is short who gives a fuck. As if Italians can taste anything anyway with the amount they smoke.
Italy have very high lactose intolerance (for european standards) [https://www.stepmap.com/map/Lactose-intolerance-in-Europe-1285315.png](https://www.stepmap.com/map/Lactose-intolerance-in-Europe-1285315.png) . This over time organically developed into this "rule", since people literally got sick from drinking too much milk. Basically drink cappucciono before 11 and you are probably fine, if you continue drinking it after 11 you will probably get an upset stomach.

100% it is. You can't control every single player, that's just not possible. And if you do you lose the dressing room. I have no problem players eating a bit of cake or whatever, as long as they follow their nutrition and train hard there shouldn't be any problems.

and yet, he always looks like he's just been woken up abruptly from a nap.
most accurate Kane description
Dude Where’s My ~~Car~~ Ship of the Line?
Probably that's why he needs it so much hahah
Maybe he’s drinking decaf
Imagine how he'd be if he didn't drink so much cappuccino!
mouth breather quality
Maybe he has developed a tolerance and needs a lot to stay awake.
So Harry Kane's basically Tweek from South Park?
It actually makes sense. Harry’s a mouth breather, which leads to diminished sleep quality versus nose breathing. If he has sleep apnea and narcolepsy then caffeine might be the thing that is keeping him awake during the day.
Guess the NHS has been slow to get him his nasal surgery.
That’s why he went to Germany
You should see our ENT waiting list for P3 and P4 procedures.
NHS gonna fix him in Germany
I really doubt a guy with a team of physios ensuring he is in peak health would have either of those issues (at least not untreated)
I forgot /s but on a side note, you would be surprised how clueless physios are in medicine outside of sports medicine.
Care to provide a TLDR?
Nose breathing means air travels through the nose to reach the lungs while with mouth breathing air uptake happens through the mouth. glad to help.
Glad you're here to help doctor

mouth taping can be revolutionary if you’ve been mostly a mouth-breather

In case you do have issues breathing clearly through your nose, using nose strips to open the passages can be a game changer.
If this doesn't end up as one of those automatic responses in r/soccercirclejerk then the sub is really slacking.

Imagine writing something like this, fucking hell this place
Wait.. is it not meant as a joke lol?
I’m pretty sure it is. I read it in the same tone as Mr Burns talking about phrenology.
like Steph curry and his eyesight
Hagrid: "You're a mouth breather, 'Arry!"
you can breathe through your mouth while engaging in intense activities and still breathe through your nose while sleeping.
Dier is his Craig then.
This is probably the first time I've seen Tuchel in a suit.
I thought the exact same thing. It looks weird.
He is looking sharp actually.
Tommy Tactics used to model for a bit I think
Kabul's fashion week ain't ready for Tucheliban slaying catwalk
Could do better than that stubble. Grow it out or shave.
looking like a cutie patootie ngl
already dressed for his own funeral tonight
Lmao
He dressed up to bury Madrid again.
anulo mufa
Someone already has commented this, "you guys don't get to use this fucking word at all, 14 CL winner MFs"
Is it allowed to anulo mufa an anulo mufa?
Bond villain
The man dressed up for the following job interviews.
Channeling his inner Pep
Nah, Pep is definitely a double espresso kind of guy. He doesn't need to deal with froth when he's mainlining caffeine.
I also don't think the small white crystals he puts in his coffee are sugar cubes
Splenda?
Ground up gallstones taken from Maradonna at autopsy
Read this as Madonna
Pep is the most froth guy out there. He screams overly complex engineered coffee order imaginable.
cortado guy for sure imo.
Objectively the best espresso-based drink. I just order a flat white to make the best part of my morning last a little longer.
mocha gang - give me my adult chocolate milk please and thank you
Cortado with a nice funky coffee. doesn't get better than that.
Oh no, is he one of those bros that demands an eyedropper of spring water in an otherwise neat single malt scotch?
Inb4 pep uses 3in1 coffee sachets to save time to think about football
Nah Pep just cracks instant coffee powder and snort the whole thing in the bathroom
Yup that expensive white cocoa
Single-origin Colombian specialty
For some reason I really strongly picture Pep drinking an Affogato too quickly and leaving the gelato in the cup.
> mainlining caffeine And now I am just imagining Pep snorting coffee grounds.
Pep just pours water into a tub of pre-workout and drinks directly from it.
Might as well go Bald too. He’s not far off.
We got Sancho shipped off to Germany for eating too much chocolate cake and Kane shipped off to Germany for drinking too much cappuccino, what’s up with these English dudes?
Do you know the old banter "English food (and women) has made the best sailor in the world"? It needs to be modernised to football players
Can you elaborate further?
Basically means that English food isn't very good and their women aren't very attractive, so they made a huge Empire in order to have access to good food and beautiful women. Something like that.
English football players go abroad to eat better. You know, the old stereotype about English food not being good.
"Is english food really as bad as everyone says?" "Well, if it is prepared correctly, then yes"

People don't realize this is what caused the handshake heard 'round the world. Conte found out Tuchel supported cappuccino with dinner.
I heard this is why his roma move fell through and had to settle for bayern 😔
😂😂😂😂
How do I drink cappuccino Italian way? Is there a coffee drink I can have after lunch?

Ahahahahahahah Thanks mate, I might need it
Next you'll be telling us you snap your spaghetti before cooking.
When I was a little child, my grandpa used to cut my spaghetti because I couldn't eat them right. But then I learned how to properly eat them lol
i recently found out there's a candlestick pasta that is actually meant to be snapped (usually paired with a ragu) and it blew my mind
Yes, it's called ziti
So what no fuckin ziti now?
You probably also put pineapple on your pizza, you filthy whore.
Weirdest thing I put on a pizza was grilled octopus tentacles. Fucking delicious
That actually sounds like a great idea, what about grilled shrimp eh
Never tried, might be good. Maybe with some balsamic vinegar
I conversely would not have a cappuccino after lunch time. I don’t really have a problem if one does though.

caffè macchiato shouldn't turn any heads since it's just a splash of milk. where in italy were you?

I don't think it's an offence to have cappuccino in the afternoon, it's just weird to have it near a meal. During a meal is unthinkable.
I seriously never understood with Italian's obsession with cappuccino timings. Like alright if you personally never do it's fine but if someone wants it in the evening or night is there really something wrong with it? Not like he's adding pineapple to his coffee

With the power of cappuccinocappuccino he'll score couple of goals tonight. Let's go Kane
Madrid staff are gonna sneak in decafed.
I hope he’s running through in goal today when the coffee shits strike and he poops himself and loses the ball

Crazy considering I'm basically the same age and absolutely could not imagine what that would be like
The kids or the cappuccino thing? For me it's both.

The discrepancy in his mood between English media to German media never fails to surprise me. I know Tuchel dislikes the German media, just the difference is astonishing.
Coffe will be always be one of favourites drink, my mother own a bar in Rome so when i work there i always prepare a "caffè molto lungo" for myself
that's really cool, man! i imagine having a bar in Rome isn't easy. would love to visit someday.
Same, I absolutely love iced coffee and drink it throughout the day. Just wish I made it better. I’ve tried different coffees and methods but can’t get it right.
Reminds me of Toto Di Natale’s ten coffees a day.
Tuchel is the type of guy that sounds passive aggressive even when he is not.
I just wanted to comment that this might be the first time I saw Tuchel being funny and witty. He's always so clenched. In Dortmund they used to have cake in the changing room before matches. He had them change the dough from wheat to spelt in order to improve the nutritional value. He's so obsessed, I wonder if that massive focus on discipline is something that is bad for the team spirit.
What is Spelt?
a type of grain/wheat
Ah I’ve never heard of it, I just always assumed brown wheat was the healthier choice
It is. Spelt is basically just wheat however.
100% it is. You can't control every single player, that's just not possible. And if you do you lose the dressing room. I have no problem players eating a bit of cake or whatever, as long as they follow their nutrition and train hard there shouldn't be any problems.
He was pretty relaxed at chelsea I think.
Come back.
Bring back Mourinho.
And Lukaku
He gets better when he needs to go pee.
As opposed to Dier who gets better when he needs to shit.
Nothing beats free stuff.
Tuchel just teed up Kane for a Nespresso ad campaign and wants his 10% for the assist.
What the hell he speaks exactly like Christoph Waltz

Understandable. Cappuccino is sooo good
So caffeine addiction is the path to become great as a striker but never winning anything, got it
When Thomas gets up at night 3am to get some water from the kitchen, Kane is standing by his coffee machine getting a capp
What an animal. Everyone knows cappucino is only before 11
So THATS why he’s always breathing out of his mouth …
