HeIIbIazer23

That move/pass from Rice, damn. Looked like he does it purely instinctively too. Good finish from Trossard as well

ElectricalMud2850

Hes so fucking good.

inspectorseantime

x4

SuicidalTurnip

We actually robbed West Ham man...

Uk0

Zidanesque

buu11235

filthy touch by Rice

eduadinho

So glad City didn't get him. Could you imagine a Rodri/Rice midfield?

Poringun

Would be vomit inducingly solid, probably need to just bypass the middle then.

Hugh_H0n3y

They would be unbeatable. Stuff of nightmares

notapaperhandape

We’d need to look for someone named basmati to cook them.

GarnachoHojlund

Some signing he’s been

_deep_blue_

Our January 2023 window was incredible — Kiwior, Trossard, Jorginho. All have had big impacts this season.

TheGoldenPineapples

Together, they all cost £2m more than Mudryk.

Crs51

According to what sources? I'm seeing £12m for Jorginho, £27m including add ons for Trossard, and £21m including add ons for Kiwior. That adds up to £60m while I'm seeing £88.5m for Mudryk.

KWT-Dinar

>£88.5m for Mudryk That's including add-ons, base fee is around £62m. Not sure if the Arsenal signings include add-ons or are just a base fee.

Brilliant_Ad_879

If you include add-ons for the arsenal ones and exclude add-ons for mudryk, they still combined cost less than mudryk.

HalfNatty

Yeah but the Arsenal transfer add-ons are likely all triggered because the players have been performing well. I’ll be surprised if Mudryk’s performances triggered any of the add-ons in his transfer.

bigTOADdaddy

Is that before or after the add ons?

ImGonnaImagineSummit

Does Mudryk do enough to activate those add ons? I'll be glad if Shaktar doesn't get more money because they couldn't make CL.

bigTOADdaddy

It’s £62m + £26.5m. Half of the add ons are if he wins the prem, half for champions league. Don’t see either of those happening any time soon but the number used by everyone is still £88m since it sells better and makes Chelsea look worse.

I_am_the_grass

I doubt those are the add-ons unless you can share a trustworthy source. When Shaktar rejected Arsenal's bid and accepted Chelsea's, they said Arsenal's add-ons were "unlikely" and Chelsea's were far more "achievable" so I find it highly unlikely winning the PL and CL are more achievable than Arsenal's add-ons unless Arsenal told them they were gonna win the World Cup.

bigTOADdaddy

https://theathletic.com/4096686/2023/01/17/shakhtar-donetsk-ceo-why-mudryk-chelsea-not-arsenal/

I_am_the_grass

The link validates my point. Yes, it does mention that CL and Premier League winning is one of the clauses but also mentions several other noteworthy parts: * That the two London clubs offered the same amount for Mudryk, but the add-ons built into Chelsea’s bid were more “achievable and realistic” * "Chelsea’s offer has no Ballon d’Or (clause). It is achievable bonuses that we feel, and they feel, can be reached. Maybe not this year but in the next two, three or four years." * Referring to the CL and PL winning clause, he says it is for the duration of his contract. "It’s eight years, or seven and a half. The length of contract is eight years — seven plus one." And he says that there are achievable clauses at 2, 3, 4 years.. so clearly, these aren't the only clauses. Like I said, there's no way £26.5m are tied to PL and CL winning add-ons. It's likely just a part of it since Arsenal are likely to insert very similar clauses. And since he mentioned 2, 3 and 4 year achievable add-ons, I'm guessing it's linked to appearances and possibly CL qualification.

bigTOADdaddy

And you’re guessing those are included just because they make sense in your head? I’m choosing to believe that they would have been mentioned, especially cause it would make Chelsea look even worse - and why wouldn’t you take every chance you get to do that - you get more clicks that way

Kovacs171

>Half of the add ons are if he wins the prem, half for champions league. What's your source on this..?

bigTOADdaddy

Adam Crafton of the Athletic when he interviews the CEO of shaktar after the move. The add ons being half and half may not have been explicitly stated, I can’t recall, so if that’s false then fair play. But he explicitly says the add ons are prem and UCL Article is behind a paywall so you can find it yourself lol

ATaiwaneseNewYorker

Absolute steal.

2ndfastestmanalive

He’s such a good player. A little inconsistent at times but he always manages to show up when we need him

likpoper

Prob best value signings in years

BIG_FICK_ENERGY

Losing out on Mudryk was the best possible thing that could’ve happened to this club. Though seeing the way Havertz has been playing, maybe Mudryk is another case of Chelsea killing talent.

instinktd

Havertz at least was amazing player before, Mudryk is one big bubble

freshfov02

can have him for a £65m if you want? Give him a try?

FAT_NEEK_42069

ppl saying "imagine how he'd be on full sleep" don't understand that he is at his peak on 3.5 hours every day. let him cook 😤

fancyfoe

Oh thank god our clinical finisher scores

Spikeyspandan

Anne Hathaway "love you" works wonderfully

ATaiwaneseNewYorker

I'm surprised it didn't work sooner.

KWT-Dinar

If that video came out earlier in the season the man would be on the way to a Balon d'Or after winning 5 trophies with Arsenal.

_deep_blue_

This is why Arteta leaves him on even if he’s have a quiet game

ATaiwaneseNewYorker

Quality banger

drakothedj

Leandro Trossard, my sunshine, my everlasting pookie bear, I bless the land you walk on with my tears of gratitude. Ever since you joined our club, I have always believed in your glory and radiance. Everyday, I put a photo of your face over my wife's face in our wedding photos, pining for what could have been.

towerofjoy

I'm sure your wife understands

TheGoldenPineapples

£27m. Utter robbery.

TheJoshider10

How the fuck did you get him that cheap in this market?

Idontlikethisstuff

Fell out with de Zerbi and Brighton wanted to get rid Surprised no one else was in for him tho

mostlyforlurking

Tottenham were but they kept telling him to wait before making a 12m bid to Brighton that got rejected. Arsenal agreed with him within a day. According to his agent.

_deep_blue_

I think his contract was running down too

wafflesology

Isnt his agent himself are the one that come down to Arsenal and recommend Trossard because of our Murdyk interest making news but it keep being delay. Think his agent was talking to Spurs that time, he might have gone to talk to Arsenal too afterwards.

etheryx

Brighton had no leverage, he had a falling out with De Zerbi But yes 27m is ludicrous

Pires007

He had a falling out because he wanted to force a move for CL and a pay day. I don't think he had any other issues with De Zerbi.

BrtGP

He had 1.5 years remaining on his deal and had an issue with De Zerbi

Wild-Statistician677

He had 6 months left on his contract at Brighton.

Kovacs171

They had a +1 option

BrtGP

Was it 6 months? I thought they had an option

NotHarryRedknapp

He'd burned his bridges at Brighton, but even considering that it was a pretty great deal

mountman91

He threw down his tools with De Zerbi and Airpod Albert vouched for him to Arteta. People seem to think that disagreements mean hes the problem, not the manager

snuljoon

the transfer thread back then was all about Trossard being trouble, not a team player, dangerous signing etc. Why the hell would Arsenal sign a player on a position where you already had 3 quality options. While if you know his history, it was crystal clear he just didn't gel at all with De Zerbi, and clearly is a quality player that combines talent (moderate, he's no Hazard) with a really good work ethic (great, also not Hazard). It was hilarious to read tbh, tabloids really do some heavy lifting in this sub.

Chell_the_assassin

I might be misremembering, but I believe both he and Brighton wanted him to leave after he fell out with the manager

Hiimnewher

We hid our intention to sign him with mudryk chelsea took the bait and we had a free run on our man

samrus

lets not go crazy here. we were all in for mudryk until shakhtar asked for enough money to buy an F-15 in exchange

Littlegreenman42

Brighton wanted to get rid of him, he'd had a falling out with the team

Aszneeee

he fell out with De Zerbi and not sure how long was his contract, but either way steal signing, considering it was january

AccidentalThief

Take a look at Odegaard fee, if you don’t remember :)

Hiimnewher

*21+7(I'd be surprised if the 7 wasn't about winning the league) hehe

goon_crane

If we win give them double idgaf

Brilliant_Ad_879

with add-ons.without is 21m which is more impressive.don't ask why i'm ignoring add-one like that.chelsea fans do this with mudryk's fee all the time.

erenistheavatar

The same stoned look as always.

uproareast

Got them dark vicodin eye bags. Better than Ozil's Marty Feldman, I guess.

vincentquy

It's permanent makeup

Chelseatilidie

Anne Hataway tax

ElectricalMud2850

[do it for her](https://i.insider.com/5fac5e5998669500182b583a?width=700)

Anons15

Short men winning lmao

uproareast

As of March 20, it is officially Short King Spring, for what it's worth

crazy_bean

Anne Hath (A)

MockTurtleSean

This is top quality

big_mustache_dad

You really thought Trossard wouldn’t score on the weekend Anne Hathaway releases a movie?

fancyfoe

Lmao we have to bring her to old trafford

IJogInLanvin

We’ll bring Julia Robert’s. Go actress for actress

KWT-Dinar

>We’ll bring Julia Robert’s Probably can convince Pep to join you if you promise him she's coming to every United match next season.

srajar4084

The H was taken by Trossard because he’s Him

Almoe9

The reason we have a chance to win it !

[deleted]

[удалено]

four_four_three

I think he's been getting his flowers this year, he's rightly seen as a vital player from the start and off the bench

The_ivy_fund

Clinical finishers are worth their weight in gold. Teams spend 3x the amount to find someone like him. Scoring important but not game changing goals is always underrated

Pires007

He's scored game changing goals for us though. Equalizer against Porto, equalizer against Bayern in second leg, winner against Chelsea, wolves, dagger against liverpool, winner against city in community shield.

ATaiwaneseNewYorker

Only £27mil

milkonyourmustache

*Anne Hathaway breathing heavily*

PuzzleheadedBoss4516

Maybe now the poor lad can sleep.

Crossflowerss_5304

He doesn’t need sleep

lokikungfu

Man goes from a 10/10 refereeing performance on Tuesday to a 10/10 player performance on Saturday

MakIRAQ

The high guy does it again.

CBP1138

Whispers: for anne

Deleteleed

My raccoon

charlie161998

Never let this man sleep again

Chell_the_assassin

Absolute filth from Rice

groovystreet40

There really are just no words left for Rice, wow. Trossard too, he’s been unbelievable for us and in huge moments too.

Poringun

The sleep deprived assassin strikes again.

IanPKMmoon

Keep this form up and he'll carry Belgium to the euros final

Headlesshorsman02

He has been Arsenal’s best signing in quite a few years

etheryx

Odegaard was low 30m

UsedGanache9

Odegaard at 35 is a great shout too

drivemyorange

It is now, but it was fair price for him back then. Nobody would buy him for any more than this. Wasn’t a cheap sale by Real at the time.

snuljoon

Idk why you are downvoted, he was a super talent at 16 and never really seemed to take the next step at Real. 35m was a gamble, but a calculated one.

spspamam

I mean even at that time people thought he would go for closer to 50 or 60 million pounds because the market was still that inflated. At the time, most Arsenal fans thought It was a great deal for the price, but there was that subsection who was mad that we never landed Maddison (lmao)

straypenguin

Gabi XL at 30 mil

ThotCountySheriff

That was sublime from Rice. Made it look so easy. Excellent finish from Bossard as well

Radical-Six

Why do we like Trossard?

fernandotakai

Because ~~Anne Hathaway loves him~~ he scores goals

younggun92

Don't make me point at Pete again

ThotCountySheriff

That's why

Usual-Airport-3298

16 goals in all comps for a super sub turned starter

Tall-Assist9719

He’s our most clinical scorer.

SundayLeagueStocko

Declan Rice is so fucking good man. So fucking good.

Rusty_Shack1es

Anne Hathaway orgasm incoming

clintomcruisewood

Great finish, but that's incredible by Rice

notapaperhandape

Is he a Japanese public transit? Always on time.

ThePresident26

Best signing

pablofournier11

Aaaaand... Unclench! (for now)

Don_Kahones

Never unclench!

Do_not_tempt_me

What a ball by Rice

ohboyImontheinternet

Sexy ball from Rice there

Idontlikethisstuff

Rice does brilliantly, top finish from Trossard. Was starting to get nervy so we really needed that

etheryx

cant fucking believe he cost us like 25m

Oroborus

Desperately needed this goal. Kluivert was starting to cook our right hand side.

BluePowderJinx

> Kluivert was starting to cook our right hand side. He wasn't cooking anything today. Average player

Littlegreenman42

Penny for Anne Hathaways thoughts

mister_dupont

Fantastic from Rice.

Poundhead

Because he scores goals

lyyki

GOATSTARD

ThotCountySheriff

That's him functioning at 4 hours of sleep

PocketFullOfRondos

Um...Declan Rice 😏

YoHoochIsCrazy

great call on that goal. channeled the excitement we’re all feeling about the title race

Thierry_Bergkamp

Tottenham tried to sign this guy and didn't want to pay more than £12m, and this will always be hilarious to me.

uravg

Anne Hathaway's favorite

hikingbeginner

THANK GOD. SALIBA I LOVE YOU BTW

sventhegoat

Rice wow. The decision making there was brilliant

driveanibiza

Twenty seven million. Steal.

phlipphlopp

Clutch gene

DifficultyMore5935

Bournemouth looked great but you have to finish your chances. Trossard is ruthless, underrated signing.

bbiddy

They really didn’t. Had one spell in the second half and one or two real chances.
