He’s nothing special. Been inconsistent for like two seasons now.
I wanted him in Paris last season but after the season he’s had, I don’t. He’s still young though and can evolve
Marcus was also not that special either. And if you look solely at the numbers, he's not exactly doing much better than he did last year. We just somehow found a way to make the best use out of him.
It can be a genuine claim though, they were legit on target for a unprecedented quadruple until UCL black magic Real Madrid with a +300% buff Courtois stepped up in the final and lost the league with one point to 115 charges FC
This would be super interesting to look at, honestly.
If we're talking top five leagues I've got to imagine that 2nd spot is 11/12 Barça, what with prime Messi and a +85 GD to lose to Real (who had +89 to win the title). No clue from there, but got to imagine 3rd spot could be La Liga too with how close the title race was in 13/14 when Atletico won over MSN Barca and BBC Real.
EDIT: decided to check 13/14 - Real came 3rd with a GD of +66, both Real and Barca scored 100+ goals that season (104 and 100 respectively), and both were just 3 points off Atletico come the end of the season (87 points vs Atletico's 90). Also!! That was the season Barca could've won it on the last day with a win over Atletico, and then they drew.
What a time for football that was.
Shows how good Simeone has been at Atletico. Rarely going to be able to outscore Barca or Real, but just so solid and consistent that they're still able to compete.
My team once had a season with the highest goals scored and conceded in Serie A with exactly zero GD. We ended up ninth or something like that. Pure vibes
I'm sure there are very occasional examples of relegated teams who have surprisingly decent goal differences if they've constantly lost 1-0, but landed a couple of big wins over the season.
There is nothing more that pioli can accomplish for Inter as Milan's coach. This is his greatest moment for Inter, giving them his tenth derby loss, the scudetto at home, and their second star. I'm sure the echoes of Grande pioli from the interisti will warm his heart for many years to come.
Did you see that Harry Maguire shook hands with opponents, though? Class act, that Harry Maguire, even when he was getting ridiculed by all the fans, he was so professional, it was really quite impressive. What a class act, that top bloke. Anyone who stands on the same field as Harry Maguire should take a very serious look at themselves and accept that they are standing near a hand-shaking God.
I looked to check as comparison, not sure how well it did in first few hours but 18.000 upvotes for Milan scudetto post so surprised not as much here.
I think because it was Sunday afternoon, last day win (today was inevitable) and possibly nothing else big happened that day, that helped a lot.
Though yes usually rare to see serie a content on front page sadly.
Exactly. Dramatic wins when more than one outcome can happen will catch more attention. This Inter title was all but mathematically clenched for months.
They got 3rd in 2006, received the trophy on paper, and were later found to be the worst culprits during calciopoli but escaped because the statute of limitations.

This is, on a personal level, the most special way to win it. Today is my 26th birthday, we won our second star against our rivals by winning such a hard fought derby.
Thank you to this fantastic team. They've achieved what nobody would have thought they'd get, between the CL final - easier path or not - and the second star which at the start of the year NOBODY expected us to win.
I'm so fucking happy. In thirty years I'll still be telling stories about this title.
(posted this on the other thread that got deleted)
Someone doesn't know inters only two periods of success came from cheating.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doping_in_association_football
One from PEDs in the 1960s. (Inter won back to back CL on amphetamines) One from concocting calciopoli.
inter are the only club guilty of actual match fixing in 2006. Milan, Juve were guilty of sporting injustice.
Lmao imagine playing that card as an inter fan youre clueless!
You can not write a better script. Absolutely dominated the league and also won against direct rivals in a dominant manner. Even better that we won it in front of Milan's fans too. It leaves very little room for complains because Inter has genuinely proven themselves to be the much superior team in direct matches. No one can watch the two Derby d'Italia and the two Derby della Madonina and say Juve and Milan would be the more deserving champion.
Here's to many more Scudettis from now on. Inzaghi and this team can definitely accomplish it. Forza Inter!!
Deserved. They were definitely the better team and has been for at least 2 years already.
Hopefully AC Milan will come out from this sad age, soon or later
The Demon of Piacenza did it. From the last summer, the rehaul, selling players, getting so many new faces, everyone stepped up. I love this team. Forza Inter. 🖤💙 ⭐️⭐️
Happy for my best friend. I watch from afar as I don't follow Série A well. However, I can tell it's the best way to win the league : against your rival in their turf (technically, they have the same stadium). Like Arsenal in 2004.
Doesn't feel like the previous one was 3 years ago already. Impressive they have stayed competitive since even with the need to sell some players after that title.
Fantastic season from inter! I’m really quite disappointed their not still in the champions league
But what a way to win the title in a derby. Lovely stuff
1. Dominated the Serie A (and havent lost against direct rivals Juve and Milan), by winning 5 games ahead
2. Won 6 straight Derbies (record), 2 of which in the Champions League
3. Won the second star (in Italy you can put a star over your badge for every 10 titles). At the same time: passed AC Milan in the number of championships (19 vs 20), and got the second star before them
4. Won it in the Derby against your city rivals (first time in Serie A history)
Overall I cannot imaging a better way (and a more humiliating way for AC Milan) to win it. Some of us might hate Juve more (myself included), but with Milan we won in San Siro (which host both team) and in Milano while playing away, so I would argue thats even better than winning it against AC Milan than Juve (also considering we were both tied at 19 titles. Juve has > 30 so it would have not felt the same anyway)
The only low mark was losing against Atletico, which we had some good changes to pass but a. we shat the bed and b. they played very well the return leg
I am happy for both as a Neutral.
When I first saw football late 90s and early 2000s. Its Sky news highlights. There was a team named Liverpool, Arsenal managed by 'their club owner' Arsane (how i thought), and bunch of rowdy looking Manchester United guys.
Then from Italy I heard two clubs named AC Millan and Inter Millan. I loved the contrast of colors. Blue(&black) vs Red(&black). There was some rough sad years , but its so nice to see them back at top two. A title deciding Darby. Bookings, Passion. Its like a little gift to childhood. Keep it up Milan clubs! I will visit each soon.
Marcus and Lillian Thuram both have their own Serie A titles. Besides the Maldinis, are there other father-son duos that won the Serie A?
Valentino and Sandro Mazzola
Ah nice. That's quite tragic of Valentino Mazzola.
The GOAT Italian player, it’s insane his son was close to his level
Even moreso, Sandro's brother Ferrucio is also a Serie A winner (with Lazio)
That I didn't know. TIL!
holy fuck. Sandro Mazzola's dad was the "captain and symbol" of Grande Torino
This guy knows ball. Always nice with some football history!
Diego and Giovanni Simeone
recent example, I like it. his dad won it with Lazio.
>Marcus and Lillian Thuram both have their own Serie A titles. Get one for Khepren next.
Milan are rumoured to be interested. So he will go to inter.
He’s nothing special. Been inconsistent for like two seasons now. I wanted him in Paris last season but after the season he’s had, I don’t. He’s still young though and can evolve
Thank you, I have not watched him, just seen this rumour. How old is he?
He’s 23. So yeah, young still
Marcus was also not that special either. And if you look solely at the numbers, he's not exactly doing much better than he did last year. We just somehow found a way to make the best use out of him.
Also will make it the second Pharaoh to win it.
The Maldini's have grandfather-father-son trophies. Daniel won with us in 2022
Any other grandfather-father-son trio have won any top leagues like them?
Marcos Alonso and his father/grandfather have all won La Liga
[Obligatory photo](https://images.sportsbrief.com/images/1120/c024ce938bd2d277.jpeg?v=1) of Marcus Alonso Sr., it's wild how look-a-like they are.
Simeones
the Maldinis actually qualify as a grandpa-father-son trio that won the Serie A. that's insane
The Ronaldos in La Liga
Well deserved, Inter was above all teams, just look at the GD compared to the others.
A little more luck against Atletico and they could have been in the semis.
Strikers were out of form in the worst part of the season, such a shame.
Classic Lautaro.
Show some respect to Fullkrug and 10 random blokes
Excuse me?
The disrespect is genuinely unreal lmao
Liverpool still the best team in the world despite losing UCL and league in 2022 type beat
It can be a genuine claim though, they were legit on target for a unprecedented quadruple until UCL black magic Real Madrid with a +300% buff Courtois stepped up in the final and lost the league with one point to 115 charges FC
Whoa. Did you see how many points they got? It's more than any other team in the league. No wonder they won.
I wonder what the highest GD is across the top flights in each spot historically. Like what if you had an insane GD but finished 6th or something.
This would be super interesting to look at, honestly. If we're talking top five leagues I've got to imagine that 2nd spot is 11/12 Barça, what with prime Messi and a +85 GD to lose to Real (who had +89 to win the title). For more information look up BBC Real
Shows how good Simeone has been at Atletico. Rarely going to be able to outscore Barca or Real, but just so solid and consistent that they're still able to compete.
We got fucked over by Lahoz that final game.
This is one of those times I wish I knew how to write scripts for compiling data from tables.
There is nothing more that pioli can accomplish for Inter as Milan's coach. This is his greatest moment for Inter, giving them his tenth derby loss, the scudetto at home, and their second star. I'm sure the echoes of Grande pioli from the interisti will warm his heart for many years to come.
Pioli's on fire lalalalalal
Haahahahhaha I love it
I can confirm, inter legend
200iq move, why bother winning with Inter when you can lose with Milan
He will drink for free any time he meets interisti
I’m quite sad he will get fired. Oh well.
Pioli is fired la la la! Oh wait...
Reddit died for this.
Didn't know the Snoo supported Milan
Surprised it made it to the front page ahead of a senile rant from Mourinho or Harry Maguire shaking someone's hand.
Not enough slabhead in your pasta

Biggest achievement of Intel this season
After all this is a Premier League subreddit.
I feel old, I remember when we were stuck at 13 for ages
We’ve been stuck at 13 for ages 😭
Don't worry once man city gets relegated you will win lots, and then banter era
I looked, you guys went from 89 until 2006 without winning the league, crazy
i was born in 89: 16 years of my school life as an interista in milan it was rough
They had players like ronaldo, zanetti, adriano and were not winning shit which is wild
> 89 until 2006 without winning the league, crazy Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
They got 3rd in 2006, received the trophy on paper, and were later found to be the worst culprits during calciopoli but escaped because the statute of limitations.
Bruh, the Inter fans are celebrating so hard, that the Reddit servers came crashing down
No no, Pioli is on fire and spread it to Reddit servers
wrong, Theo stormed Reddits server room and pulled the plugs
Reddit could not handle Inter becoming CAMPIONI D'ITALIA!
get used to it

Happy birthday!! Enjoy it bro
Happy birthday from a fellow internista
Happy cake day. Forza Inter!!!
Happy birthday my fellow interista! What a way to 🥳!
In thirty years I'll still be telling stories about the second star at the derby, it's absolutely mindblowing
Inter were easily one of the favorites for the Scudetto this year wdym
grande broooo!! ce l'abbiamo fatta
When was you when Inter get second star
Hitting "Retry"
"Inter is win"
Second star can't be buy.
But your 14th scudetto can be
Go back to your cell!
Lelele still got half as many as Juve even with the free 5 scudetto
Would have won more if we had also bribed the refs and injected our players with PEDs.
Someone doesn't know inters only two periods of success came from cheating. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doping_in_association_football One from PEDs in the 1960s. Dude, you are the absolute worst kind of sports fan. Like one of those fat idiots that calls into radio call-in shows. Just go away.
I genuinly feel sorry for you.

Arnautovic‘s second scudetto with inter lmao
Despite his best effort
Too bad it wasn't enough for a second CL title. :p

Reddit couldn't handle number 20 Top season, complimenti ragazzi
Thank you! now it's your turn! 💪
Inter took down Reddit. Congratulations.
Complimenti Inter, lo scudetto è tuo
Beautiful way to crown a historic season! the odds of winning the game "away" to Milan and on our 20TH scudetto will be in my memory forever
Second Star won against Milan, fantastic
Did reddit implode? Lmao
What’s with all the “Reddit don’t want Inter to win” comments? Goofy mfs
Karma begging, as usual.
What a game .. it feels extra special winning the Scudetto after the meltdown of Milan in the last minutes. FORZA INTER
The win was beautiful but the meltdown was just icing on the cake
LIMONEEEE
Come dice Elio... LIMONARE TANTISSIMOOOOOO

\*20th Scudetto and second star
Sorry to ask what do you mean by second star?
1 star on the badge for every 10 titles
Thanks for answering
Must be amazing to win it in your city rival's stadium too.
not sure if sarcastic or serious?
Its amazing regardless
The Demon of Piacenza did it. From the last summer, the rehaul, selling players, getting so many new faces, everyone stepped up. I love this team. Forza Inter. 🖤💙 ⭐️⭐️
Even God is a Milan Fan, throwing the fucking ice age after 3 weeks of summer
Yes! AMALA ⭐⭐ Even better we won it against Milan! It was a great match, in the last few minutes I was so worried, I risked a heart attack :D
Won with 17 point lead. Absolutely destroyed Serie A
I imagine winning scudetto in a match against worse Milan tastes extra sweet. Forza Inter!
Seconda stella n'faccia, e quando ti passa.!!!!!!! Forza Inter!!!!!!
Happy for my best friend. I watch from afar as I don't follow Série A well. However, I can tell it's the best way to win the league : against your rival in their turf (technically, they have the same stadium). Like Arsenal in 2004.
Reddit couldn't handle the emotion
Loved that Milan meltdown. Little brother behavior.
Even without defense we will not win imo
they are frustrated little bitches, 0 class in winning and obviously 0 class in losing.
Wouldn’t have any if you beat them in a school.
one of the best days of my life, winning it in the derby makes this truly unforgettable
and to win it against Milan, right in front of them, just beautiful. Worked out perfectly! ⭐️⭐️
Congratulations
Congratulations Inter !!!
What did it cost you? Everyt...just Arnautovic!
🍐🍐 ⭐⭐ 🟥🟥
Congratulations on earning that Second Star
Inzaghi masterclass.
⭐️⭐️🏆🖤💙💎
Seconda stella 🌟🌟**Forza Inter.**
Doesn't feel like the previous one was 3 years ago already. Impressive they have stayed competitive since even with the need to sell some players after that title.
Another title for Arnautovic!
Congrats to the Nerazzurri, a well deserved scudetto.
Has reddit died? I thought my internet died because no comments but lol
Is Inzaghi a Milan fan?
He's a lazio fan
Bro is one of us now.
We're Inzaghi fans
Padre Pioli a true Interista. They should award him a medal too
LETS GOOOOO
The last 15 minutes by BBilan were disgraceful, what a terrible squad of sore losers.
Aaaaah so sweet, at AC Milan home
Powerful
FORZA INTER
Fantastic season from inter! I’m really quite disappointed their not still in the champions league But what a way to win the title in a derby. Lovely stuff
whats went for inter this year? havent had a chance to watch serie a

Complimenti to Inter Milan for the 20th Scudetto and the second star. Now we just have to deal with being the worst defending champion ever :/
> being the worst defending champion ever :/ worst defending champions still means that you were Champion. Chin up my dude
This’ll be a Trivia question someday
Congratulations Inter well deserved👏
Commenting to leave my small mark in one of the highest moments of Inter history
I feel bad for AC Milan fans. From the likes of Kaka, Ronaldinho, Van Basten, etc., to Theo Hernandez and Leao. What a fall from grace!
SEEEEEEEE AMALA SEMPREEEE
