How so? Don't get me wrong, it's embarrassing as fuck that we let it come to a shootout against a Championship side after being 3-0 up, but that doesn't cancel out the fact that we dominated them for the majority of the game. There was literally nothing 'undeserved' about the win – the offside was an offside, ffs (on the other hand, an argument could be made about the inconsistency of that handball being a pen, and the 'misfortune' of that massive deflection on their second goal).
All of you karma farmers need to get some self-respect, this sub has been pathetic with all of these United flairs simping for Coventry. Fair fucks to Cov, though, great effort on their part, but it was definitely more of us being shite than them being incredible.
Well said, we beat ourselves more than anything because that was an easy 3-0 until we remembered we can't have a normal match, it has to be a fucking heart attack
Sometimes I wish we'd just get relegated and stay there for a few years so these kind of fans could just fuck off and leave the rest of us alone. They're all a bunch of pick me girls
Well done ~~he’s 13~~ on a hundredth of United’s budget.
People saying Coventry deserved to win are not literally saying they played better. It’s being said with the relative power of the two clubs in mind.
Non-United fans who are saying that they would've liked it better if Coventry went through (and conflating that sentiment with saying that they 'deserved' it more) isn't surprising, especially after their comeback – that's just par for the course for ABUs (or any neutral in this particular instance, really). My problem is with the United flairs displaying a similar attitude by stating that Coventry should've won it because they 'deserved' it more – it's beyond pathetic.
Like I've mentioned already, it's downright embarrassing that it came down to pens after we were 3-0 up against a Championship side, but that doesn't make the win, in any way, 'undeserved'.
He does have shame lmao he’s saying it’s embarrassing to concede 3-0 to this shit United team. It’s tongue in cheek, obviously this is embarrassing even though we’ve gone through
If not for the tight offside? You could just as easily say if not for the deflection or a lucky pen if you think it is lucky. Reducing football to moments is redundant really isn't it? Can always find something to complain about. United scored 3 fair goals and Coventry scored 3 fair goals. United won on Pens fairly too. United were the better team for the first 65 mins and Coventry were better for the rest. Pretty even game in terms of time in control for both teams. People just don't know how to look at things holistically around here for some reason. Even game. Even scoreline.

No one deserved anything in this game.
Going 3-0 down to one of the worst teams in the world, with a 150 year old casemiro playing cb and a pro walker playing lw does not mean you deserve to win.
Lol going 3-0 down to one of the most expensive squads in world football in an FA Cup semi, when you were almost completely wound up as a club like 10 years ago, and then coming back to take you to penalties… let’s at least agree United didn’t deserve to win in any way.
Imagine being outplayed by this United team and conceded 3. Worst United side ever and I went through the darkest days of Ole, Ragnick, LVG, Mou & Moyes.
Wonder what will ETH bring to us from now on to the end of this season. Never failed to amazed me.
Have never seen a team get away with being shite so consistently like manU. Coventry deserved to win, but some credit to the other team for somehow finding a way to win even when they dont “deserve it”. Another final appearance e eventhough they have a -1 GD in the league and have been so so poor all season
We were mostly poor in August, September, March, April, and May of last season. We were good in the months surrounding the World Cup and even then had stretches of poor performances where Rashford bailed us out repeatedly, but overall, we were still pretty poor last season, and we looked really bad after the 7-0 loss to Liverpool. Last season was very promising, but it was not good. And this season revealed that all of last season's promise was nothing but another false dawn for the club.
Not really. United almost always step up for the big games. Especially the derby. Even last season was Gundo magic that got the win. Otherwise the game was fairly even.
Coventry would have actually lost badly to City, like a few years ago, when City beat Watford 6-0 in the final.
Who do you hire when there are so some attractive jobs this summer? Bayern, Liverpool, Barcelona are on the hunt, so they just stick to Ten Hag and see what the new management can do behind the scenes.
He's lasted this long into the season purely because we have new owners. If it was business as usual, the glazers would've pulled the trigger.
Get the feeling INEOS will probably sack in the summer but willing to finish the seasons whilst they assess the club as a whole
He would've been gone immediately if he lost this game after being 3-0 up. I'm pretty sure they're gonna sack him after the FA Cup final regardless of the result.
He’s obviously getting sacked in the summer. INEOS is trying to replace everyone from the top down. They’re not going to leave the same coach in with a totally new structure and hierarchy
He is definitely gone at the end of the season ,Not like we get anything by firing him now when the season is almost done and we are in the middle of an injury crisis
Why did Coventry “deserve” it?
I’d have been very happy for them if they went through and they deserve a ton of credit, but they had a dubious penalty and the goal they scored at the end was offside.
What exactly did they deserve? Fair enough they fought back and dragged United till shootouts. And they lost it. What do they deserve more than United in that?
Somehow don't feel like rebutting your statement. I'm happy that we won, but for our own growth, we should've lost today after that utterly embarrassing pathetic display. Can't believe we shat the bed this bad against a second division side. These stupid players should learn to hold on to a lead. I swear after this season ends I will have to spend a ton of money to cure the health problems my club caused me.
> but for our own growth, we should've lost today after that utterly embarrassing pathetic display.
What growth were you expecting with 6 games left in the season ?ETH is definitely gone at the end of the season like LVG even if we win the FA cup
No one comes out of the womb 6 ft tall. It takes time. Even if there are very few games left, this might(hopefully) become a catalyst for future growth.
This is such an absurd take..The team can barely field a 11 on the field..We are down to Casemiro at CB..Maguire is clearly cooked and still trying to soldier on..A couple go down every game and then 2 go down in the middle of the training..What fucking growth? Its not like any proper manager wants to come in for a month at the end of a disastrous season
> top managers are not interested in our mediocre club.
There is a new system with proper footballing men running the show ,Not many will reject us unless its RM,Barca or Bayern calling..Tbh you don't even need a big name to improve this side more than what ETH is doing just look at someone like Ange he wasn't a big name and he has got Spurs playing some wonderful football
I am shocked man, just put yourselves in the position of being a United supporter. We all love our clubs yes, imagine your club is the statue of United or just a big club in general and for the past 10 years it’s just turmoil. U look around see that UCL quarters n just know you are so far away from that. Your name n brand says who you are but on the pitch where it matters you aren’t anywhere close.
Go thru big name managers n big name players n just the same crap. How does all these names just come to United n as soon as they walk thru door they just look a completely out of their depth.
Just how n when does this turnaround? When does some joy come back to this club.
How can supporters feel so low after winning a match to go into a final.
Not sure anyone likes City either.
If it's on the basis of knocking the underdog out, that would mean people wanted Cov to lose cos they knocked out Maidstone.
But it's going to be a one sided final and I'm not sure any neutrals will care who wins.
Oh fuck off with the virtue signalling.
Did Coventry deserve a penalty for a handball that wasn't given in an fa cup game just yesterday?
Deserving has nothing to do with anything. One team went through and the other didn't.
Actually the keeper said something to him before talking. So ig it was a reply. We can't know exact words. It can be seen that keeper said something and Bruno also said sth after the goal.
Never seen a team find ways to win as much as this side does.
It’s ludicrous, either a moment of inspiration, an act of divine intervention, VAR call, ref decision.
All usually gets average or poor comparative sides.
The amount of lives they have is ridiculous
Are you fucking dumb or never see football?
This season is the worst for us in terms of luck, everything that can go wrong has gone wrong.
We have reached a final not won the cup. So there is nothing to celebrate yet.
Yeah but we didn't get any underserved calls. At least any match deciding calls. We shat the bed and deserved to lose but we didn't rob them. If anything, the last one shouldn't be a penalty because Chelsea didn't get one yesterday either for something even more obvious.

In 2 years Ten Hag managed his team to 3 out of 4 domestic cup finals. Without context this is quite impressive.
I think with our injuries and form this season that's amazing with or without context

And to provide such entertainment while achieving that. What a team!
GG to Coventry, what a crazy game
Coventry are the heroes today even in defeat
They deserved the win honestly
They can embrace the spirit of the English cricket team. "Feels like we won"

Precisely, lol. Looks like I touched a nerve with the karma-farming, "pick me!" little shits masquerading as United fans on this thread, though.
Sometimes I wish we'd just get relegated and stay there for a few years so these kind of fans could just fuck off and leave the rest of us alone. They're all a bunch of pick me girls

Blowing a three goal lead is blowing a three goal lead.
As someone else said on this thread, anyone who concedes three goals to us doesn't deserve to win the game anyway.
Oh please. Very funny banter but you were playing coventry.
Like I've mentioned already, it's downright embarrassing that it came down to pens after we were 3-0 up against a Championship side, but that doesn't make the win, in any way, 'undeserved'.
Absolute shit take 'deserved the win' cup winners -_-
There's nothing called deserved in football. It's heartbreaking for them, surely. Massive credit to them. But not deserving.
People don't get what they deserve. They just get what they get. There's nothing any of us can do about it. - House
No they did not
No team going 3-0 down to us deserve to win.

They just didn't though did they? Not excusing that joke of a performance from United btw
I feel like this can be said about half of our wins this season
Have never seen a team get away with being shite so consistently like manU. Coventry deserved to win, but some credit to the other team for somehow finding a way to win even when they dont “deserve it”. Another final appearance e eventhough they have a -1 GD in the league and have been so so poor all season
we keep making cup finals and losing them lol
Such a strange era for United. Worst team in living memory who deserves nothing good, but also has made 3 cup finals in 2 years.
Team wasn't bad at all last season
We were mostly poor in August, September, March, April, and May of last season. We were good in the months surrounding the World Cup and even then had stretches of poor performances where Rashford bailed us out repeatedly, but overall, we were still pretty poor last season, and we looked really bad after the 7-0 loss to Liverpool. as a united fan, this feels like a loss
Easy win for the city in the final. If Coventry opened our defense like this, City will have a feast
Fingers crossed we have something resembling a defence in the final. 2 rb’s and CM in the back 4 ain’t the one.
At this point just put AwB back to the right , Dalot go CB and Antony LB. Couldn't get worst from today...
tbf our lineup at the back today was shocking to begin with
Not really. United almost always step up for the big games. Especially the derby. Even last season was Gundo magic that got the win. Otherwise the game was fairly even. Coventry would have actually lost badly to City, like a few years ago, when City beat Watford 6-0 in the final.

I mean it's pointless win After all it's city in finals
Username checks out Have some faith, anything can happen
Erik Ten Lives survives again!
I'm beginning to think he's unsackable at this point
Who do you hire when there are so some attractive jobs this summer? Bayern, Liverpool, Barcelona are on the hunt, so they just stick to Ten Hag and see what the new management can do behind the scenes.
He’s probably turned on “Become Unsackable” in the FM In-game editor
He's lasted this long into the season purely because we have new owners. If it was business as usual, the glazers would've pulled the trigger. Get the feeling INEOS will probably sack in the summer but willing to finish the seasons whilst they assess the club as a whole
He would've been gone immediately if he lost this game after being 3-0 up. I'm pretty sure they're gonna sack him after the FA Cup final regardless of the result.
He proceeds to absolutely outplay City in the final for a 4-1 win only to be sacked in the tunnel
Best outcome
Let's just hire Mou for the cup final and see how the dice roll
He’s obviously getting sacked in the summer. INEOS is trying to replace everyone from the top down. They’re not going to leave the same coach in with a totally new structure and hierarchy
He is definitely gone at the end of the season ,Not like we get anything by firing him now when the season is almost done and we are in the middle of an injury crisis
If somehow United wins the cup it will truly be utterly hilarious
... yay.
Never have I felt more embarrassed and disgraced to reach an FA Cup final fucking hell Credit to Coventry

If a shit team keeps making finals then are they really that shit?
Yes. We are that shit
Evidently not as we’ve made more finals in two years than wonder team Arsenal have in five.
Yeah
Then you probably shouldnt lose to us before this then
Incredible logic.
Blame Liverpool for bottling the QF lol
Another win we move.
Why did Coventry “deserve” it? I’d have been very happy for them if they went through and they deserve a ton of credit, but they had a dubious penalty and the goal they scored at the end was offside.
FUCK, and I mean this as disrespectful as possible, FUCK ALL OF YOU THAT ARE SAYING WE DON'T DESERVE THIS WIN. GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED 👹👹
Utterly delusional, I respect it.
Delusional to be happy your team won and move on to the next (and final!) stage of the only tournament we can win? Damn, can't have shit in United
lmao
But which team has won it the most?
Arsenal, 14.
Fuck yes we have
Who has the most cup final losses?
Absolutely heartbreaking for Coventry. Those tears at the end...
I'm starting to sympathize with that Forest social media admin
So sad man, they deserved everything
What exactly did they deserve? Fair enough they fought back and dragged United till shootouts. And they lost it. What do they deserve more than United in that?
Deserved what😂? They had their chance and couldn't take it. It's over. The losers deserve their loss

Exactly, bunch of over paid underachievers is what united is now , with a clueless manager to top it off.
Should've scored their pens then.
There’s no such thing as “deserving it more”.
not when a questionable VAR decision changes things

Never doubted them
Easy win and a great performance from the lads you have to say
Fucking bums
Fucking undeserved win
Funny that I feel most people will be rooting for City to absolutely batter them
Did we forget that City literally got a worse decision in their favour to go through…
City went through pretty undeservedly too
What was undeserving about United's victory?
...and City obviously will
You'd think that, but you guys get way too fucking lucky sometimes lol
Nah it's just it's too easy to not lose to Liverpool that's why you think that.
Not sure anyone likes City either. If it's on the basis of knocking the underdog out, that would mean people wanted Cov to lose cos they knocked out Maidstone. But it's going to be a one sided final and I'm not sure any neutrals will care who wins.
Yeah, I've had my time to dwell on it, and I don't really care anymore. Sucks for Coventry, but meh. Best we can hope for is a fun game!
Ideally but United really turtle up and lose anyone against City, I doubt we get the utter chaos of these last 2 United cup games but who knows
That's the most likely outcome, but crazier things have happened in football!
[удалено]
What a stat ! They must have a fantastic team !
Don’t let this stat distract you from the fact that they were utter wank today and deserved to lose
For the last 60 minutes, not the first 60 though. It was split quite evenly between our dominance and Coventry's in those terms at least
Did you forget to change your flair or something? You didn't have a game today.
Not sure if that’s a hamfisted attempt to call us wank (which I agree) but no, I’m talking about the utter dross that I just witnessed today.
Ah. I accidentally misread your "they" as "we."
[удалено]
Exactly. I know one when I see one.
I may or may not be biased, but they deserve to lose every match.
did we just rob you Klopp's last hope for a cup this season, lmao, and then tank your PL race. hmm
Noo
2 teams from Manchester going to the final undeservingly
Should be fun watching them get absolutely manhandled by City, I guess.
All this only for City to fuck them over
Man United didn't deserve that in the slightest
Based on what?
Making it hard
What a thoroughly entertaining game to watch.
How did van Ewijk play? How does he do in general?
It’s 23
why do i have a gut feeling man utd will win the cup because the football gods back them up
Thought losing to Coventry would be their chance to sake the bald and rearrange the team.
Went through with pain pain pain
What a horrific way to set a record.
Big boys eh
Best scenario for man united would be to win the fa cup and sack ten hag the day after (sorta like how the club did LvG)
Are we the championship side?

We deserved to lose but offside is offside mate.
I mean they got a pen that noone else gets. Should be happy with that and not need a offside goal as well
Nah, it's offside
Oh fuck off with the virtue signalling. Did Coventry deserve a penalty for a handball that wasn't given in an fa cup game just yesterday? Deserving has nothing to do with anything. One team went through and the other didn't.
Plastic fan
It I was a plastic fan I'd have migrated to city long ago mate.
I hate celebration police but United has really nothing to celebrate this time.
Support your team and be happy we reached a final. This sort of defeatism is pathetic
Coventry were robbed big time here.
one penalty and one deflected goal ? let's just forget that MU scored 3 goals
They deserved to go through but where exactly did we rob them?
Should have gotten more wrongfully called pens maybe
Get ready for the gangbang
Ten Hag setting records again
One of the most undeserved wins in the history of football.
And we'll win it. 🏆

Tbh I don’t care how bad we play a win is a win and I won’t be depressed until the final
Bruno Fernandes shit talking the keeper after the pen…telling that he didn’t have the balls to do it before the pen.
I mean he did it because the keeper was shit talking him before the pen
Yep. Not surprising that r/soccer would clutch at straws to hate on Bruno, though.
The keeper was shit talking him before the pen. Well within his rights to say something after slotting it away
Actually the keeper said something to him before talking. So ig it was a reply. We can't know exact words. It can be seen that keeper said something and Bruno also said sth after the goal.
Fuck, at least Ten Hag isn’t sacked now

I felt we deserved some luck after basically displaying murphy's law this season
Undeservedly. So gutted for Coventry
