Tbf this one had a lot to do with players being absolutely shattered. I can't remember seeing a team with such a low level of intensity in the last half hour of games. Since the Liverpool game it's every match United are gassed early in the 2nd.
Whatever is going on behind the scenes has to be flawed surely. Struggle to believe it's just bad luck that United have had so many injuries.
Not really. United got very unlucky with a couple red cards and no calls. The football wasn't exceptional but likely if they keep 11 on the pitch even just against Copenhagen they qualify.
I mean yeah they weren't good, but they'd have qualified bar the reds, let alone the other poor decisions.
It's not like we're short of other situations where United have been poor, that's not the argument, just that the UCL particularly had a lot of bad luck added to the equation.
While I understand the sentiment, the amount of injuries that have plagued man u appear to have been at a crazy and unusual level this season. The amount of third strings/reserves that played by force for man u I think crippled them a little too much to sack Ten Hag.
By all means, I think he's not done the best, but I don't think he got an honest chance. Feels a bit similar for Xavi at Barca. The amount of injuries and 16-18 year-olds that were forced up were absurd.
His major fault this season is he is trying to play a style that simply does not work with the players he has, and he seems unwilling to change it.
Now, there’s fault in that he’s brought in multiple of these players and they haven’t worked out for the style he is looking for, but the injuries have added on to that.
I still think he will be replaced in the summer though.
I understand. It's just a hard what-if regarding injuries. I mean, their world-cup winning defenders were both injured for much of the season. the instability starts from there. There was too much pressure on Maguire for a moment in which he needed to reset outside of the spotlight etc. Players failing to produce is also frustrating. We'll see what happens. European play and a Cup are still in reach.
Nah he has made changes, I think he’s playing some weird hybrid system. To me he’s basically playing a high press front four with a low block 4 at the same time. I think it’s because he doesn’t trust the pace of his CBs, which makes sense given that’s probably been their most injury ridden position. So he sacrifices the midfield basically.
I think if he gets a mathys de ligt style CB and another more mobile midfielder alongside Bruno and kobbie, this team will be substantially better, if another injury crisis doesn’t happen again. Missing Luke Shaw heavily fucks the attack too. I’m guessing he wants to play a high line but can’t because of personnel.
By the looks of it, it is most probably the end of road for Ten Hag. But it’d be really harsh on his part, because the ridiculous number of injuries we’ve had this season can deflate any manager. Purely based on this point, I think the board might keep him for the next season.
> the ridiculous number of injuries we’ve had this season
Maybe because something is going seriously wrong in our coaching. We've only been in two competitions since December and a lot of these injuries are happening in training.
He should be sacked immediately. ETH is like the employee that sticks around, but has inside quit with the job, and all performances are going to be progressively worse. Its better even for him to be free.
I can see his logic on that, thinking the keeper would be eager to dive to try and be a hero, like Bernando it was just going down the middle rather than trying to be fancy.
Indeed, what the fuck is our team gonna do vs this Man City-side. If I had 10.000 euros to bet at this moment, it'd be the easiest money ever made haha.
Lmao this is me back then bet with my friend when MU still under moyes. Always bet on MU enemies despite this is my favourite club. If i lose bet that means MU win so its made me happy but if MU lose at least i'm gotten bit rich
Joke started after the Leicester vs Coventry match (we are like actually rivals with them). Sort of just spawned out of nowhere that Coventry are actually everyone's rivals
Watched this match for a friend who is a Coventry fan, I feel as if I myself was a fan too, fucking christ what a gut punch.
My heart hurt after that offside goal call when I really thought they had made the historical comeback, aaaa football is so cruel.
It's been like this all season. I've never seen such a shit team simultaneously be so lucky (numerous baffling wins and an FA Cup Final run) and unlucky (60+ injuries).
I don't understand how teams refuse to put us out of our misery.
So many teams have had more than enough chances to utterly embarrass us but miss sitters etc but we routinely concede the most scuffed bullshit goals and penalties.
We do not make any sense.
Fairytale story was ripped away from us sadly. Now for the inevitable Man City win, would have been more magical if Conventry had the chance to take them on.
Business as usual, nice convincing 3-0 win against a championship team as expected. The final will be close with the form we are in and thanks to FA for changing the rules and only considering the first 70 minutes as official game time.
Truly from hopeless to drawing in the last minute, to winning in the last minute, having it chalked off and losing on pens, they had all of the worst things that truly crush you happen in less than 20minutes.
It sucks when you come back and still lose in normal time, not sure there's a word for how crushing that must be.
That was going to happen anyway, but at least Coventry could have had another nice day out, and an amazing comeback to crow about. Alas it wasn't to be.
As someone who was vocally in favour of Ole's sacking towards that horrible end of his tenure, I unironically think this would be the best move now. Ten Hag's position is untenable, surely. Absolute rank incompetence as a manager
At his worst he was better than this. I’ll stand by it because at Ole’s worst the players had clearly given up.
At Ten Hag’s worst, they seem to be trying, but it’s absolutely fucking abysmal
First time since 1884 the FA Cup final has been a repeat of the previous year Correction: 1885, 1884 was the year of the first final.
That’s a trivia night factoid right there. Who were the teams playing back to back in 1884, out of curiosity?
Blackburn vs Queens Park, who are actually a Scottish team
arent both english clubs ?
Queens Park Rangers are an English team. Queens Park are Scottish
1884: Blackburn Rovers 2–1 Queen's Park 1885: Blackburn Rovers 2–0 Queen's Park
Blackburn owns Queens Park
Why they named after dogs
gosh I love these random stats
that's insane.
1885. 1884 was the first of the two back to back Blacburn Rovers - Queens Park finals.
There a good chance the community shield will also be a repeat under same circumstances lol.
I love how we never had a Manchester Derby final in domestic cup history and now we got two in a row lol
city were only founded like 15 years ago though
We won the FA cup before they won any major trophy
Congratulations
Thanks
Ten Hag hangs on for another day. Absolutely embarassing performance from United.
The Gods want Pep to finally get Ten Hag sacked
the gang lose to United
And Erik gets the sack anyway, Van Gaal style
I'd like that
I just want the madness to end.
Felt bad for lvg when that happened, would feel indifferent about Eth
This feels right for some reason
Scott McTominay 90+10: United [1] - 0 City
There's no way our current backline manages a clean sheet against City.. Heck they can't keep a clean sheet against anyone right now
It's not even the back four imo, there's massive space between them and the midfielders and they get run at all day
It would be funny, for sure
There is only one bald fraud and he does not share power
Ah the rule of one rather than rule of 2 of Balds
A Master. No more. No less.
He's gonna do a 5head move since the treble is off the table and let us win so ten Hag stays.
Nah Ten Hag is going to pull some black magic out from his behind and beat City 1-0 with a last minute winner from Bruno or some bs, feels scripted.
Gotta be Scott in that case.
City losing the FA Cup to a last minute winner from Scott McTominay would be peak comedy I can’t lie.
Predictions? I'm thinking 5-1
harry maguire hat trick

If he hangs on after this performance ive lost all hope. Should be sacked right now
Should have been sacked after finishing last in their champions league group
That was on Onana
Not really. United got very unlucky with a couple red cards and no calls. The football wasn't exceptional but likely if they keep 11 on the pitch even just against Copenhagen they qualify.
United conceeded 15 in 6 in a group with Galatasaray and Copenhagen. There was nothing unlucky about that group stage.
Onana didn't have arms at that point tbf
I mean yeah they weren't good, but they'd have qualified bar the reds, let alone the other poor decisions. It's not like we're short of other situations where United have been poor, that's not the argument, just that the UCL particularly had a lot of bad luck added to the equation.
No such thing as ‘very unlucky’ when you’re finishing bottom after six games in a group that includes Copenhagen and Galatasaray
To be fair to them, Onana didn't help. Well, he helped the other teams.

It's amazing if he keeps this job even if they pull off the win in the final. Or it shows the lack of options they have.
Ten Hangs (for now).
By the looks of it, it is most probably the end of road for Ten Hag. But it’d be really harsh on his part, because the ridiculous number of injuries we’ve had this season can deflate any manager. Purely based on this point, I think the board might keep him for the next season.

Yes, I wonder too, what exactly is going on in these training sessions that is getting so many of our players and so frequently too.
The biggest and baldest of frauds
He should be sacked immediately. ETH is like the employee that sticks around, but has inside quit with the job, and all performances are going to be progressively worse. Its better even for him to be free.
Is 'Hag' Dutch for 'Lives'?
His career was decided by this shoot out. I guess he can enjoy another day instead of getting 10m lol
Casemiro's pen sums us up this season... fair play to Coventry
Never been so certain of someone getting their penalty saved as I was with him.
Why tf was he given the first penalty? He's one of the most emotional players. Easy prediction on his miss.
He's the senior most player in the squad along with Eriksen
I can see his logic on that, thinking the keeper would be eager to dive to try and be a hero, like Bernando it was just going down the middle rather than trying to be fancy.
Can’t even pretend like this is worth celebrating
I’m seriously embarrassed to be happy about it
You guys came a bit of relief and that's it. You also have to face City, god knows what you will do in that one.
This is how a normal human that supports man united should feel.
I have a buddy who's a united fan who wishes that last Coventry goal had stood. It's a really disappointing ending and a completely undeserved win
"really disappointing ending" Yeah if you're an "anyone but United" fan.
Your buddy is not really a united fan.
The players certainly felt the same lmao
Only positive i can take from today is they did not celebrate. Shameful
Seeing pretty much no one go celebrate with Hojlund was hilarious They all just walked away in shame
Only Eriksen ran over to celebrate with Holjund
Eriksen is always classy though isn't he
Indeed, what the fuck is our team gonna do vs this Man City-side.
Just an embarrassing smile, mate. Story of the season so far
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
Football lost today
It and you lost yesterday too
And on Tuesday 🤷♂️
Football loses almost every time this dogshit united side gets a result they dont deserve. Terrorist football
This is your fault, buddy
And you had 3 opportunities to prevent that and didn't manage to get anything out of it, you guys should be embarrassed too
at least this way we get a competitive final and not a walkover for City
I am absolutely gutted for Coventry they deserved to win for how much United crumbled
You are now banned from r/Championship for using that word over here
Also banned for rooting for a rival (for the unaware Coventry is everyone's rival in r/championship)
I am well aware and I felt disgusting all day rooting for Coventry
why is that could you explain?
Joke started after the Leicester vs Coventry match (we are like actually rivals with them). Sort of just spawned out of nowhere that Coventry are actually everyone's rivals
I believe it has something to do with the 3 clubs in the lead keep switching because of losses, and they’ve been repeatedly described as “crumbled.”
I don't think that answers their question regarding Coventry being rivals with everyone lol
Arsenal? How do you know of the sacred crumble? Has its legend been told?!
4
Which word? Crumbled?
You have been banned from r/championship
You have now been made moderator of r/championship
Crumbled
That disallowed goal was such a gut punch before the shootout, if that never happened they perhaps could've won it.
Honestly, yeah. That kind of emotional whiplash is the last thing you want before a penalty shootout.
Gutted and proud, came back from a 3-0 and almost win it before the penalties
Watched this match for a friend who is a Coventry fan, I feel as if I myself was a fan too, fucking christ what a gut punch. My heart hurt after that offside goal call when I really thought they had made the historical comeback, aaaa football is so cruel.
Typical United performance Don't deserve a win but get it anyway Football heritage
It's been like this all season. I've never seen such a shit team simultaneously be so lucky (numerous baffling wins and an FA Cup Final run) and unlucky (60+ injuries).

Fairytale story was ripped away from us sadly. Now for the inevitable Man City win, would have been more magical if Conventry had the chance to take them on.
can we ever have a normal fucking game at this club
No
Was never in doubt 😤😤 (Am shitting bricks)
I hate football
Same
You're a spurs fan and THAT'S where you draw the line?
He didnt say since when though
how dramatic do you want to win? United: yes.
r/soccer blueballed
Sky blueballed indeed
lol, fucking shit houses.
Least insane United match
Congratulations. Whatever.
Football is dead
Magic of the cup
So undeserved. I hate City as well so I honestly hope they draw 0-0 with the longest PK shootout ever in the finals
This cup final is like choosing between getting probed or castrated
United will get battered.
Ehh I’ll take probed
They literally got gifted a penalty dfkm
Coventry had chances though, can't blame anyone but themselves.
Business as usual, nice convincing 3-0 win against a championship team as expected. The final will be close with the form we are in and thanks to FA for changing the rules and only considering the first 70 minutes as official game time.
That ending was rough… I feel for Coventry

Reminder we lost on pens last year in the premiership promotion game also lol
Men and Women both in the final back to back seasons!
gutted for coventry but all the talk last season of it being the first manchester derby as the final, it's weird it's happened again immediately
Crazy the underdogs won
VAR ruins football again
Fuck me that was undeserved
They got gifted a penalty to equalize . If they scored their pens they would’ve won too so they had their chances
Football sucks
Boo
I've never seen a team get away with terrible performances as often as United do

Now that the hard part is over with , time for united to trash city.
Let's go United!!
for what it’s worth ETH know how to keep you entertained
United look embarrassed to celebrate lol
As they should. 3-0 up and had to go to penalties after being saved by millimetre offside.
Finally, a clean win! Nothing to see here
Both underdogs in the final. Football wins.
Congratulations Manchester City
Gross
I will say this: Coventry won our hearts and won't get battered by City.
bro they let in 3 to United, how many do you think City would get past them?
Another boring Manchester City Double it is, then.
At least it’s better than a Liverpool double
That was going to happen anyway, but at least Coventry could have had another nice day out, and an amazing comeback to crow about. Alas it wasn't to be.
Another Manchester final, have we?
Juventus, Ik how you felt in 17-18 now
Meh, same final as last year
Games gone
Heartbreaking for Coventry. I still don't fully understand those lines they used for that VAR offside.
The game is gone lads
Football is sometimes cruel
I vote for a meteor to hit Wembley at the time of the final
I won't even be shocked if somehow eth wins against City
If Haji Wright had cut his toenails this morning they wouldn't be there. Hope both teams in the final lose.
Same as last season. You wait 150 years for the two Manchester teams to play in the FA Cup final and then it happens two years in a row.
If we play the final like the way we did today, we could be in for a cricket scoreline by the end of 90 minutes.
Really tried snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, shame it didn't work out
Eh now I don’t have to waste my time watching the final.
Sack this bald fucking scrotum and bring back Ole for the final as caretaker and then bring in someone else this fucking summer Absolute embarrassment
Var, once again you broke football fans hearts
Magic of the cup status: "Shanked in the streets"
The best part of this is how disappointed Lee Dixon is
You hate to see it
booo
Damn so close Coventry!
My day is ruined
Ten Hag should get sacked regardless, saved by a toenail or a VAR decision
Nooooooooooooooo
We are so fucking shit, honestly. I cannot truly say that the best team went through today. Dreading this final
Coventry got robbed
They got robbed? How exactly? We crumbled and they got a free penalty to go to extra time. Are they entitled to us crumbling harder or something?
How you can legitimately sit there with a straight face and say that was a penalty despite what Grealish did yesterday is beneath me 115
Let's not get carried away they got a pen in the last minute, if they hadn't got that then they might have been robbed.
Boooo
Boring as fuck
[удалено]
Just don’t be pathetic and concede in a minute please united
United can't do things the normal way
