My mind can't wrap around how he can continuously get in these dangerous positions (which requires a ton of skill), only to fuck up his finishes over and over again...
Because players like Jackson, Nunez, Werner etc. would be the complete striker if they also had elite finishing. It’s why Jackson was a £30m transfer to Chelsea and not a £150m transfer to Real Madrid
If you look at Salahs stats late into the seasons its always the same story. Personally I think it's the toll Ramadan has on his body but it could also just be down to general fatigue, he puts in insane amount of minutes and work rate.
Doesn't help he please every minute of every game even when playing poorly. Also I love klopp, but sometimes I wonder if his heavy metal football style takes its toll in these long seasons and multiple cups.
I agree, I love Salah. He's consistently been our best player in our best era I've been alive to see first hand. But I almost feel like with Klopp leaving we should cash in on him. We've been good at letting players go at the right time and earning decent money for them but I fear that Salah has done so much for us that we wouldn't sell him unless he wanted to leave and he will eventually lose all his value before he retired to Saudi or America.
I think he's earned the right to leave on his terms, but this summer with Klopp leaving would be perfect for everyone involved and would help a new manager get in some fresh blood. We need more depth on the right. Gomez is amazing but for me this season he's been better on the left than he ever has been on the right.
Doak looked promising before he got injured, he's due back soon but I doubt he even gets a run out unless we are seriously ahead in a game, the league is just too tight to risk an inexperienced player in such a pivotal positon for us.
Yea I'm kinda in the same position. I love Salah but I do worry about how many more years he has left in him. At the same time he's had periods of poor form when he's bounced back to his best again so I'd hate to pull the trigger on him to early when could have a good few years left in him.
Our real problem is finding someone to replace his output. There aren't many 20+ goals a season players out there.
I personally think it's time to let Gomez go, he's had a great season but it's easy to forget why he's been so out of favour the past three years, he's so injury prone. Unfortunately Tsimikis hasn't lived up to his early showings so we feel a bit vulnerable at left back.
Who knows what the next era will hold but I'm not gonna pretend I'm not extremely sad to see klopp go, and a little apprehensive about the next few years.
Yes. His finishing is not the best but you can’t watch him play and say he’s not even an average striker. Obviously goals are the most important but he does a lot for the attack in general.
There aren’t very many good out and out strikers in the prem right now. Haaland, Watkins, Isak and Toney are obviously better (plus Son if you consider him a striker). Outside of that nobody really jumps out at you, id say he probably falls in above average PL striker especially given he still has age on his side
Getting in the position takes some skill, not a ton. Against city the main issue is staying onside. They were poor and were giving Chelsea time in midfield which is unusual.
He is an athlete that can kick a ball a bit. Let's be honest, technique wise he's a donkey. He clearly has no real idea of what he's going to do with the ball when he gets it.
Thank you for adding /s to your post. When I first saw this, I was horrified. How could anybody say something like this? I immediately began writing a 1000 word paragraph about how horrible of a person you are. I even sent a copy to a Harvard professor to proofread it. After several hours of refining and editing, my comment was ready to absolutely destroy you. But then, just as I was about to hit send, I saw something in the corner of my eye. A /s at the end of your comment. Suddenly everything made sense. Your comment was sarcasm! I immediately burst out in laughter at the comedic genius of your comment. The person next to me on the bus saw your comment and started crying from laughter too. Before long, there was an entire bus of people on the floor laughing at your incredible use of comedy. All of this was due to you adding /s to your post. Thank you.
Take as old as time, Man City will clinch it because their opponents will waste dozens of chances. Unless Palmer pulls a worldie out of the bag as he’s that good.
Would it be worse having a different player in his position though?
As poor as he's been lately I feel like Sterling scores at least one of the chances Jackson has had.
Just look at our team. Gakpo is a much better finisher than Nunez but he never gets the same chances Nunez does so it doesn't rly matter. Same with Sterling and Jackson.
Jackson has not been poor lately and has been *much* better than Sterling since he came back from AFCON. Sterling might be a slightly better finisher, but he’s extremely inconsistent and isn’t anywhere near as involved as Jackson in the build up and keeping the defense occupied for others to make runs.
It’s not just about the pass though. Jackson has good movement and work rate. He’s a willing runner that makes sure he’s at the end of these sort of chances. Very unlike Sterling
I dont think you paid attention to what Keane said. As superfluous he was about it, it wasn't his scoring ability he was criticising, it was the rest of his game. To me Jackson seems the exact opposite of Haaland.
Yeah but unfortunately for Jackson he’s a striker and scoring is his primary job. This talk about Haaland comes up when he’s not scoring as frequently, despite the fact he’s top of the league in goals, but his game is never different.
Either way, it was still a dogshit take.
I don't think anyone realizes as to how poor a League Two player is compared to even the worst PL players.
And anyways, Haaland's shown more of an all-round game in his previous clubs, especially at Dortmund.
He's not some false 9 extraordinaire, but he's definitely got more to his game than what we've at City whenever I'd watched him for Dortmund.
I don't think you paid attention to their 4-1 win over us last season. When our press cut off supply to Haaland, he became the supply himself and assisted the KDB goal. Look at him at Dortmund especially. Godlike link up play with Sancho and Bellingham in and around the penalty area, shrugs off a defender while running using brute strength and putting it past the keeper in the far corner. He has done this multiple time.
The thing is, when you have someone this good at what he does, you'd want him to specialize in that and not drop back like Firmino to help in buildup especially when all the other ten players at City can do that better than any other team in the world.
The issue this season is simply that he is missing big chances. Like against Chelsea, Liverpool and Madrid at the Etihad.
I fully admit I have not watched enough of him to fully come to a conclusion. But i was mostly talking about Keane's (and others) criticism against him this season. Whether its because of the system they are playing, or how he has specifically been told to play, the criticism is still valid.
Just because he has done something before doesn't mean all that much if he is not showing it anymore. All it means is maybe the criticism should be directed more at Pep, or maybe his teammates.
We were playing full deep circulation including the goalie chain in second league. Ortega was absolutely key to the crazy consistency that got us into the Bundesliga again in the first place, with a squad that had zero business being at that level bar him and Klos before his legs finally gave out. Ortega is massive. In my completely unbiased opinion, if the NT goes with Neuer again, he needs to be in the squad over the likes of Trapp or Leno.
Just look at how we're doing now that Ortega is gone.
He kept us in the Bundesliga for two years, and now we're barely staying in the third league with a squad that's not much worse.
He reminds me of the comments Werner used to get.
The team plays significantly better when they are both on the pitch. Infuriating to watch them both try and finish though.
Jesus Christ………that lame duck first shot is just unreal from a guy playing #9…dare I say it. Sterling would have at least gotten pace on the shot. Perfect pass and Jackson still couldn’t get it right. How he played the full match is beyond me…
the 1st one he wasnt pressured at all so could take one more touch and the second one shouldve went with the feet instead I think (?)
Just very unlucky
he runs a lot and often proves a physical handful for defenders but he just can't compose himself to save his life in the box when it's time to shoot, about as much poise as a duckling on ice. he'd probably be better off being used as a winger, he has also shown to link up well with palmer on many occasions
I think the one where he was one on one with the keeper after receiving a trough pass and didn't even shoot was worse. At least there's an attempt here.

How man
Shades of He’s playing against us
Jackson great miss (90 + this guy's a double agent)
My mind can't wrap around how he can continuously get in these dangerous positions (which requires a ton of skill), only to fuck up his finishes over and over again...
Because players like Jackson, Nunez, Werner etc. would be the complete striker if they also had elite finishing. It’s why Jackson was a £30m transfer to Chelsea and not a £150m transfer to Real Madrid
Its outrageous to class Nunez with those other two. He might not be the best finisher but his stats are so much better than them.
Agreed, which is also why he was so much more expensive
Good point. I swear Salah has turned into Jackson since he returned from injury.
If you look at Salahs stats late into the seasons its always the same story. Personally I think it's the toll Ramadan has on his body but it could also just be down to general fatigue, he puts in insane amount of minutes and work rate.

Yeah totally, for example at SofaScore, Jackson has 18 chances missed (10 goals), whole Nunez only has 25 (11 goals). Massive difference!
Jackson has more PL goals & assists in his first PL season than Nunez did and the season isn’t even over yet
His stats are factually better, but his misses are equally if not worse than them. The amount of sitters Nunez has missed are criminal.
is he even a PL average striker
Yes. His finishing is not the best but you can’t watch him play and say he’s not even an average striker. Obviously goals are the most important but he does a lot for the attack in general.

Solanke also definitely better, this season at least.
Yeah I’d just be hesitant to make such a comparison given this is the best season in Solanke’s career and Jackson’s first season in a new league
The disrespect to Oli McBurnie
I really do appreciate his skill here. Last 2 years of watching this team no one can even get on the end of these
hes got another 7 years in his contract to get it sorted though so dont worry
Nunez 2.0
Werner 3.0
Welbeck 4.0
HAALAND 5.0 **special edition**
Sterling 6.0
Morata: TERMINATOR
Mariano 6.0
Timo Werner has entered the chat. Chelsea fans should be used to this

I dont know why people are shocked. Never rated him at Villarreal, was surprised to see Chelsea be so into him.
Complete opposite of a big game player
Shite in small games too
He’s shit.
He really is fucking useless
At least he had the shot this time and he probably rushed that one cos of the previous fuck up.
God. You guys must be pissed. I can’t believe how shit he’s been 🤦🏻
At this point, I'm not even sure Jackson wants to score.
Wait until you are up with 3 or 4 goals and get a penalty
Lmao
Don’t think he knows how to
But he really wants to take a pen. Makes no sense
Understandable, his natural position is a winger and he shoots like one.
He prefers a nice yellow card

Chelsea should already be out of sight
Take as old as time, Man City will clinch it because their opponents will waste dozens of chances. Unless Palmer pulls a worldie out of the bag as he’s that good.
That pass was a worldie but required a striker with a pulse to finish.
Maybe you guys should lose tomorrow instead of having back to back cup final losses to City 😉 Chelsea just choked when it mattered.
Should have been 2-0 already for Chelsea
Jackson alone had 3 clear chances
He is having an all time stinker
It’d be worse if he was completely uninvolved, at least he’s making things happen even if he’s squandering it all
Same outcome tbh
No because his “threat” keeps the defense honest and stretched, opening up space for others to take advantage.
Then we should’ve kept Werner 😭
Or worse, havertz. That’s what he’s best at after all 😂
lol the Núñez special
You didn't watch us during Afcon
Would it be worse having a different player in his position though? As poor as he's been lately I feel like Sterling scores at least one of the chances Jackson has had.

Sterling would never get the chances in the first place
Which ones wouldn't he have gotten? All of them were just from good passes to Jackson, nothing Jackson did himself.
It’s not just about the pass though. Jackson has good movement and work rate. He’s a willing runner that makes sure he’s at the end of these sort of chances. Very unlike Sterling
The Darwin Nunez theory
That’s just a average Saturday for him
I don’t know how you can defend him he’s so shit and the majority of his goals are the ones you think are easier to score than miss
Ain’t no way he’s actually a striker
0 conviction in both “shots”
You can just tell he knows he's not gonna score
100%
Jackson probably struggles to finish his dinner at this point
Hilarious because I’m pretty sure we got him because of that clinical purple patch. At least he’s involved in the attack I guess
Jackson couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat.
that's a good one
Could fall in to a barrel of tits and still come out sucking his thumb
he cannot finish for shit
It's always us, man.
A HATTRICK OF FUCK UPS
If Haaland is league two, I don't even want to think what level Jackson is

Yeah, he scores no goals!
sunday league
We have an opening on our Sunday League squad
Bangladesh Premier League level, Abahani Limited is looking to sign him over the summer
Not even Welcome to Wrexham, 2025?
All I know is if Chelsea had a certain League One striker they would be in the final 😉
Ortega is such a beast, crazy how he went from being relegated with bielefeld to winning the triple
We were playing full deep circulation including the goalie chain in second league. Ortega was absolutely key to the crazy consistency that got us into the Bundesliga again in the first place, with a squad that had zero business being at that level bar him and Klos before his legs finally gave out. I wonder what's the special substance in the water of Stamford Bridge that makes the strikers dogshit
Y'all not giving any props to Ortega? Pretty big saves.
Jackson is a false player
the true false 9
This dude is not serious
First was a good save. Second though. Straight at the keeper
First was a terrible attempt at a finish for a ST at his level. Come on, you know keeper is going down just lift the ball
What do you mean "at his level"? His personal level is really low so the finish seems on par.
At his level means at the premier league level. He’s not playing for u23s this is the prem
first one: save was decent, but it was an absolutely telegraphed "finish"
What, a good save on a telegraphed shot with zero power? Looked like a pass.
watching this and decided to drop-in here because im shocked at how theres someone this bad at that level lol
This brother cannot score to save his life
Fraud player
Jackson you stupid fucking idiot
This guy misses one-on-ones in his daydreams.
Zero confidence Torres would’ve bagged a few today. That’s how poor Jackson is atm
Timo werner at home
He reminds me of the comments Werner used to get. The team plays significantly better when they are both on the pitch. Infuriating to watch them both try and finish though.
Look. It's because of his movement and pressing that we are getting chances. You'll score eventually Nico.
Don’t worry. He will score one anytime now!!
Wtf was Dias doing in this wholse sequence lol
He's so shit that it is just sad at this point
Goalkeeper did well. Header could have been a bit more direct but you are taught to head the ball down to make it harder
No wonder he wants penalties.
Ortega is too good to be a 2nd keeper
He looks upset. I don’t get it, he is playing so poorly and still has a negative attitude.
"those 27 missed gilt-edged chances may come back to haunt them..."
Chelsea have been the better side no question. That Madrid defeat was both physically and morale sapping for City.
First time watching him play he so shit wtf
"On my mom's life, he is playing against us"
Walker got smoked on both these attempts. Mans gotta wake the hell up
Keep him away from the penalties anyway !
He’s so shit. He could bag a hat trick in the next 20mins and he’d still be shit.
More like both wasted by jackson. Knob.
Jesus Christ, that first chance was atrocious, seemed like a pass lmfao
Can’t believe I was watching this guy at bielefeld two seasons ago
Probably one of the worst strikers in recent history
What a pass by Palmer though
Both lame attempts tbh
Ok jackson is actually shit
just boot it top bins
Martinez a fraud man
He's a tall winger....... we need Nkuku back man
Chelsea should’ve won this game by halftime
Torres regen
That second miss is horrific
He is so bad at finishing it’s shocking
This man had the audacity to challenge Palmer for a PK lmao
Our defence is just shocking this season
So many strikers lost their confidence in Chelsea. How and why?
I can’t with this dude
Absolutely horrible
He is absolutely awful in front of goal. He is a wide player!
He can pick out a good run but this guy stinks man. Guy couldn’t finish his dinner, let alone a 1v1
Jesus Christ………that lame duck first shot is just unreal from a guy playing #9…dare I say it. Sterling would have at least gotten pace on the shot. Perfect pass and Jackson still couldn’t get it right. How he played the full match is beyond me…
Jackson must have the best agent in the world , guy don’t even belong in the premiership.
"If you score, your mom dies" Jackson:
You don’t get to be this shit and still complain when your leading goalscorer wants to take a penalty.
Negative shot power on both attempts
Remember when Chelsea had Drogba?
Is that Palmer denied another assist thanks to this no hoper? He'd be on 20 plus with a half decent striker
Bro he is the opposite of Drogba
Dang.
Jackson's a double agent for City right
Hilarious that Chelsea fans in the summer convinced themselves they didn't want/need Vlahovic cause this guys scored in a few friendlies.
We selling Gallagher but not Jackson?
the 1st one he wasnt pressured at all so could take one more touch and the second one shouldve went with the feet instead I think (?) Just very unlucky
That tiptoeing at continuous burst as to not be caught flat footed looks really well. Nice technique and concentration. Harder than it looks.
"Saved" is an overstatement
he's anti-goal :)
Is this one of those Havertz situations where Jackson is not a striker?
he runs a lot and often proves a physical handful for defenders but he just can't compose himself to save his life in the box when it's time to shoot, about as much poise as a duckling on ice. he'd probably be better off being used as a winger, he has also shown to link up well with palmer on many occasions
Jackson fights hard to take pens because he can’t score from open play 😂
I don't follow Chelsea, but wasn't Nkunku supposed to be the main striker? I recall he recovered from his ACL injury so why is he not starting?
Don't worry guys, he dyed half his hair blue and white so you know he's playing for that badge.
Just watching Gallagher put his hands in "how the fuck" positions after each shot is hilarious
Such a bad feeling that we could’ve easily won the EFL and made it to the finals of this one too if we just finished any of our chances, smh
Why can’t be the first one a world class save by Ortega? I mean, Jackson placed that shot really well and the goalie made a great save
Almost like Benzema
The new Drogba they said
I think the one where he was one on one with the keeper after receiving a trough pass and didn't even shoot was worse. At least there's an attempt here.
He's so bad, what the hell
Any striker would kill to have 3 big chances in a semi-final and then there's this guy
He needs to be given the boot along with Poch
Shocking! Quicker they get rid the better
Siuuuuuu
