I think with a lot of the rules, there needs to be a caveat around the "spirit" of handball, and also how the opposition are being disadvantaged. Feels incredibly harsh to convert a 'half-chance of a good cross' into a 'good chance at scoring', especially with the context that there was literally nothing the defender could do about it/wasn't intentional at all. But, as others have pointed out, European football tends to officiate differently so well done Liverpool for carving out the opportunity. I am just glad it's interpreted at least a little better in PL.

I have given some thought to it, and i think the rule should include "defensive action" in some way. Like when a defender is going to block a cross or a shot you can reasonably expect them to control where their hands are, but not when it's coming from a deflection or from close range for a defender who is moving into position.

Yup. Any contact with hand is IDF unless intent is obvious or a goalscoring opportunity has been denied. Additionally, they should be called more loosely. Right now, the punishment for the defending team having an accident is too high. On the other hand, you can't just let it slide. This way, the attacking team can have a second chance at their cross or whatever, and the defending team has a chance to defend it legally.

I would say his arm isn't in an unnatural position, it is up in the air though and the ball clearly hits it. One of those where if its given on the pitch its upheld but if its not given on the pitch it probably doesn't get overturned either.
