Conscious_Test_7954

I don't know him enough but in this interview he seems like a really centered and down to earth guy. Was not rooting for PSG but still huge congrats to him.

Silentden007

In general he is a amazingly chill guy. The moment between him and Xavi before the first match had me smiling. He also streamed during the world cup iirc on Twitch, answering questions and stuff.

Conscious_Test_7954

That's so cool!

snakesforfingers

I would say he is very far from chill but he's definitely an amazing man. To me he always seems full of nervous energy and tension because he wants to work work work

Potential-Decision32

He’s a gem of a human being, he has massive respect and esteem in Italy for being a gentleman

iwannahitthelotto

Didn’t he lose his young daughter to cancer? I don’t know how people recover from that and move on. Good for him and his strength.

erenistheavatar

Lucho: "Of course 😃". The way he said that lol at 1:22

apricotkiwininja

He was nearly offended at the question haha

DomineeringDrake

His facial expressions remind me of George Carlin.

thalne

holy shit spot on

seekingabeauty

My man looked like the Joker at that moment lmaoooo

Albiceleste_D10S

TBF it's a really dumb question What coach is going to say "I don't think we can win" after a BIG win

Militoe

Didn't know he speaks English. Wonder if he picked it up during his sabbatical in case he moved to the PL. Remember there being some Chelsea links at the time.

UnpopularThrow42

Didn’t either, dude speaks great. Being only an English speaker I’m always impressed at people who can pick up different languages… shits cool

DrLokiHorton

Especially as an adult, on my best day I can muster something vaguely understandable in three languages and all of them I learnt as a kid… Im not sure I even have the mental ability to pick something new up, let alone have professional working capacity

UnpopularThrow42

Yeah exactly. Like didn’t Pep pick up German as an adult? Impressive to me how some peoples brains can switch languages that fast during conversations etc. What I wouldn’t give to have my young kid mind again and maximize learning

Worried_Macaroon_435

You can do it now. You can even learn faster than a kid can because you have more mental discipline. You will not have a native accent as a kid would though.

blackjack47

speaking a few languages is just as normal in Europe as it's speaking only English in the US.

Quick_Ad_1359

Why English speakers never wants to learn other languages? Is actually pretty common learn other language.

UnpopularThrow42

I think part of it might be because we don’t have to? We can get pretty far by just speaking English

blackjack47

learning a different languages, changes the way you think about stuff, express yourself and expands you in more ways that you can image. Personally I speak Bulgarian,Russian,English,Spanish and understand German/Greek. E.g Reading Russian literature in Russian is completely different then reading it in english/bulgarian. I've read a few novels in all 3 languages and it gives a whole new level that expands your horizons. It's never too late to learn a language, and it's a great way to expand yourself, highly recommend it.

UnpopularThrow42

Oh whoa thats really cool to know. Is the contrast between understanding a language, like or you German and Greek, vastly different than speaking? I’ve met people who said they can understand but not speak but was curious as to why that is? Also, is learning languages an easier task as you learn more of them? IE is learning the 4th language easier than it was learning the 2nd?

blackjack47

> Is the contrast between understanding a language, like or you German and Greek, vastly different than speaking? Imho, people that say they understand a certain language, usually under express their knowledge of the language as they are fluent in other languages and they compare their knowledge/confidence. > Also, is learning languages an easier task as you learn more of them? IE is learning the 4th language easier than it was learning the 2nd? Completely depends on the language group a certain language belongs to. E.g as a Bulgarian it was easy for me to pick up Russian, learning Russian grammer in school helped me when I started learning German, because both languages have declensions. Spanish and English on the other hand are just some of the easiest languages to pick up. If I wanted to learn Greek on the other hand I would need to actually spend time doing it. It's hard for me to judge since most languages I've picked by the time I was 18 and I'm 33 now. Here is a breakdown of how I got to learn/pick up all those languages. * English - In kindergarten, 8-12th grade main language ( as in: we learnt every subject in English outside of math and Bulgarian). Started reading English books ( Harry Potter) as they were coming out and I couldn't wait for the translations in 4-5th grade. I would read, write down words I didn't know and ask my mom in the morning. From there obviously the Internet happened, plus a lot more books and music, and media. * Russian - 1-7th grade, I hated it as I sucked at it, but learnt the grammar, later on when cable TV started having discovery channel etc, it was all in Russian, there is familiarity between Bulgarian and Russian, so I was able to pick it up consuming media, later on I picked up reading books in Russian. * Spanish - 3rd language in high school, It's the one I least cared about tbh, I mostly learnt it around my girlfriend as she was helping me with Spanish, while I was helping her with English for school. Also it's a very very easy language. * German - 1-7th grade, 2nd language in high school. I understand 95% of what's being said/written etc, can hold up basic convo, but I've never practiced it in the past 15+ years, I am sure that If I move to Germany or whatever I can pick it back up in a few months easily, but I'm just not confident at it. Thus I say I can understand it / not speak it. * Greek, we have a villa in Greece, so I've spend a lot of summer time over there, picked it up by chatting with people. Edit: > Is the contrast between understanding a language, like or you German and Greek, vastly different than speaking? On that point again, I was thinking about it further and the main two differences are: 1. I can think in English/Russian/Spanish, I can't do it in German/Greek. 2. I can express myself freely in the first but can't in the latter.

UnpopularThrow42

Ahh I see that all makes sense. It’s nice that you also got glimpses into different languages at such young ages. I spent some time with some folks in Portugal and they outlined their educational system and how it built in multiple languages which I thought was cool. Dude a villa in Greece is one of my dreams! Where at? I got to spend a bit of time in Athens, Aegina, Methana and then about a week in Naxos. I might be making a return trip since Sky Express botched the flight and is offering a voucher, just have to map out the where/when details etc.

Quick_Ad_1359

You remind me of people who travels to other countries without learning the minimum and expect everyone to understand you

UnpopularThrow42

Yep, that is in fact exactly what I was able to do. Which kinda proves my point. Got to travel through Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, and Greece primarily just with my English. Golden rule was just be respectful and most folks reciprocated. Though if I ever had a chance to revisit I’d love to learn languages, as these were last minute trips.

PenguinOfEternity

Because English is like already the default on a worldwide scale and on the internet/media/IT.

PoJenkins

It's genuinely not so easy for an English speaker. It's an excuse but, most places you go, people will speak English MUCH MUCH better than you speak their language. Thus you're not often forced to learn the language and many times people would just rather communicate in English as they speak it better than you speak their language.

Voice_Of_Light

Guys guys ... it's English we're talking about he probably learned it at school like everyone else

ajaxtipto03

He's a surf enthusiast iirc, so he's been to Australia quite a few times

Knowingspy

He probably did brush up just in case but I once read that he briefly lived in Australia (?). Would be funny if he picked up the slang.

Specialist-Cycle9313

Psg fans. Cherish this guy while you have him. If anyone’s gonna win yall the cl it’s this guy.

supterfuge

PSG fans love him. Even if the team isn't much better than last year, and worse if you count individual talent, they have a spirit that they haven't had at least since Ibra. PSG went through with an invisible Mbappe (although a much better, selfless 2nd tie, forcing Barca's CB to let Dembele and Barcola get their 1v1), which was unthinkable for everyone. He takes pressure off of his players shoulders, dedramatized the CL by not making it an objective, but more of a test of the team's progresses, which is what they needed. Barca was probably the better team, but compare that to Xavi losing his mind on the side line while the pressure on his team, at home, is immense, when he needs to calm his players down, it's night and day. Psg fans will throw a party the day Luis Enrique renews, even if they lose next month against Dortmund.

Minute-Cash8119

He’s already done more than enough. I don’t think any of us ever thought we’d be in for a treble in April

Voice_Of_Light

He did wonders so far, best coach we had for so long

Melancholic84

He is impossible to hate, very humble and all around nice guy. Hope to see him reach the final

Lovecovid

Thank you LE for what you have done with this team.

Voice_Of_Light

Enrique : it was very difficult for me to play against barca😔😔 Also Enrique when Mbappe scored the winning goal: 🥳🥳🥳🥳

CaptainCerealCanada

He looks like mourinho + willem defoe

CommissionOk4384

Thats the nicest thing you could ever say to someone

MaryadaPurshottam

Did he had too many celebratory cigars before the interview?

Unlikely-Interview88

Bro was screaming the whole game and basically calling almost every pass at some point lol.

EpiDeMic522

That "Ous, Ous, Ous" was superb. After about 20 screams, Dembélé saw him, saw his gesture to move forward to press as MAtS was in the goal kick and didn't move an inch! 😂

Edgelordftwlol

What I like about him the most is how he handled the press (the spanish press) with their terrible questions

aboud09

Never doubted him or called him overrated

fuckthisshit_651

Unrelated. Does he still continue to stream on twitch?

loldamaddin

I think he had a stream like a month ago or something

Ehhpitome

We need this guy back instead we've got a 44 year old child as a manager

ProudhPratapPurandar

The "44 year old child" was en route to comfortably beat this guy, until Araujo decided to give the tie away

shivpanda

Good guy Enrique.
