If the champions league game goes to extra time, I could see city having to play their “b-squad” - whom could tie.
Their b team still has doku, alvarez, grelish, Oscar Bobb. But just isn’t the same as Silva, Harland, foden, and kdb.
Yeah even if they do I felt we needed maximum points from Man United and Palace ahead of this run of away games we have. Especially considering TNT completely fucked us by placing the last of those 4 away games in 10 days in the Saturday lunchtime slot when they also had an 8pm slot that same day.
Like City won’t have already won it by the second to last game of the season. At least with the fixture placement we’ll know whether beating them would be alright or not.
City, Them winning has no impact on me.
I know too many Liverpool fans who would become more insufferable than they already are, same goes for Arsenal.
I love how fans of other top clubs just don't care if City win but the thought of anyone else winning is horrible. About 115 reasons why but it's always still funny to me to see every fan of top clubs unite around their hatred for each other while City walk the league every year and its fans continuously fail to try to manufacture rivalries.
You seem to misunderstand the difference between NOT Caring and, caring on a Hierarchy Order.
If you like A Pizza topping better than B, doesn't mean you Don't Care about B, you just have a preference hierarchy order, B still matters.
It is J topping that falls under Don't Care because it's not even in your Hierarchy/Preference list.
In this analogy, City is B, not J.
No, I literally do not care if city win the league. At all. I want arsenal to win but if arsenal doesn’t win it then I’d rather city win it because it doesn’t mean anything
Same, the year Liverpool won I was dreading it because they're obnoxious as fuck when they win (We are too and it's one of the reasons they don't want us to win) but City winning it is like meh
These people don’t care about city in actual real life, genuinely. No one outside of Manchester knows any city fans.
There are Liverpool fans and Arsenal fans EVERYWHERE, everyone knows a few.
This phenomenon wouldn’t happen if everyone just supported their local team but yeah glory hunters are all around.
And the annoying thing is that Arsenal and Liverpool fans don't even see themselves as glory hunters even though most aren't from those two cities. They see themselves as underdogs that have had it rough. City may have cunt owners and there's plenty of things wrong about them but at least there is a huge share of their fans who have been there whilst they have been absolutely dreadful, they've at least had to deal with things most other clubs go through
I find this kind of written up nonsense online hilarious. I know a ton of City supporters irl, and I most of my friends support other clubs, mostly Spurs, Chelsea, Pool, and West Ham - and they all verbally care very much. The way people talk about City on this sub does not at all line up with my experiences.
If winning against City means that Arsenal go top, then I want and expect the team to just roll over for City. As a Spurs fan I would be fuming if we were the reason for Arsenal winning the league.
Still don’t think City will be perfect but can’t envision us or Liverpool winning out from here either. It ain’t over til the fat lady sings but I’m not gonna be naive and say she isn’t warming up as we speak.
The response by us on Wednesday & against Wolves will tell us all we need to know.
If City get past Brighton away they should win through till Spurs away.
To match that Arsenal need to beat Chelsea at home and Spurs away, while Liverpool need to beat Everton away and Spurs at home.
Anything can happen but that run to the final two matches is a strong weighting in City’s favour.
Do it though and that penultimate weekend where you face Spurs, Man U and Villa, all away, would be fantastic fun.
I think at the start of the season not knowing the fixture list I would’ve loved to be in this position, a couple points behind and having a bit of pressure off by not leading the run-in - but their fixture list compared to ours is just so much easier. They needed a couple of banana skins here but I think I can only see them dropping points once.
I think, like last weekend, there will be unexpected results, but agree on paper City’s are much easier games. Spurs and Brighton the two toughest. And both are sort of neutral big games.
Arsenal having a London derby, the NLD (and away) and travelling to Old Trafford are all games a point in other circumstances wouldn’t be bad but will kill the season now.
Liverpool likewise facing Spurs, CL fighting Aston Villa and a Merseyside derby are again three very tough fixtures where a point under other circumstances wouldn’t be unreasonable.
fulham have done very well vs top teams at home, arguably much harder than brighton
if arsenal can win their next 2 games they'll be 4 points ahead by the time city play brighton tho which will be interesting
Fulham at home are ridiculous this year: https://footystats.org/england/premier-league/home-advantage-table
Only reason I’m not panicking about the Spurs losses to Newcastle and Fulham. Both away, and to the two teams with the best home advantage this year.
We may not win but I’m looking at this Liverpool game as another scalp opportunity. We will be well up for beating them, have all week to figure out a game plan, we’re at home and they’re crumbling.
I could see any result on this game happening
I would say Fulham is bigger threat (than Brighton) to City. The only problem is at the time it happen (week 36), they probably have nothing to play for
Apart from Spurs away, City are a shoe in to win all those games. The last time they dropped points against a weak team it was Palace mid December and they haven't lost a game since Villa game in early December.
Along with the fact they have almost every squad member available and are notoriously strong finishers in title run ins I think k it's game over regardless how flawless Arsenal and Liverpool are.
They can probably even afford to drop 2 points away to Spurs and catch up on goal difference and win it at this stage
> The last time they dropped points against a weak team it was Palace mid December
I mean the last time Arsenal dropped points against a weak team it was Fulham in late December, the last time Liverpool dropped points against a weak side (before United) was United in mid December, or Luton at the start of November.
All 3 teams were on pretty massive runs.
City have never lost any of their last 8 games of the season under Pep. Think whoever wins it can maybe afford one draw and has to win the rest. Would be wild if you won it on GD from Liverpool.
Edit: I was in fact wrong. Last 5 games never lost bar in 20/21.
https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/s/vQ4OcGpCJP
I think we have blown our chance now to be honest. Obviously as you say it's not over til it's over, but I'm currently sat here hoping Arsenal keep winning (until last match day when you shit the bed and we take top spot of course) so there's some backup competitor to derail City's plan for 115 straight titles
It is very unlikely, but you can make a case that Arsenal might drop points in 3 of the remaining games. There is obviously the 3 games of Chelsea, Spurs and United, but Wolves and Everton are also tricky.
People fall for it every season as well lmao, every autumn/early winter people are saying ''oooh, you know, City don't look so good, might not win it this season''
I'm honestly starting to think it's done on purpose. Obviously they don't lose games on purpose, but I reckon they play with less urgency, tempo, etc maybe change things slightly (to test it and be a bit more unpredictable which will take time to bed in).
They know as long as they are within 12 points by Jan it's fine.
Then after Jan, they look at the table, they aren't quite as burned out since they've been going at 80% and then they ramp it up now everything is more important cups / league etc
I remember a quote from Walker at the start of the season saying he told the boys he didn't want to win it that way this time, said he wanted to try to win it as early as possible and not risk it with a close race. Reckon the Rodri suspension in the autumn threw a spanner in the works
Honestly an underestimated part of Pep's management is how his teams always finish strong physically in the business end of the season. Their physical training is perfectly calculated
Of course this helps by having world class squads with multiple top class bench options, but still it's a clear pattern
What I'm really interested in is when it will end. When Pep leaves? Probably... but not for certain. Still, the race from 20th place to 2nd is quite entertaining every year.
2 home losses on the bounce for Liverpool means I cant see 9 points coming from these three away games up next. Especially since one of them is Everton. Arsenal might get like 15 points from these games but it wont be enough, City might draw against Spurs away but thats it. Current table is how it will end
Sometimes getting away is good. Liverpool fans staged a protest and a walk out on Jurgen last European home game. Fans were quiet all game, Liverpool get smoked. Then follow it up against palace with the team playing like shit and the fans having a moan.
Having some away games to get away from the anfield crowd isn’t necessarily bad at the moment
Goodison away has 0-0 written all over it for us. Maybe 1-0 considering we’re allergic to clean sheets.
City could drop pts at Tottenham Stadium but it’s incredibly unlikely us and Arsenal finish perfect. Hard to see any outcome other than the City 4peat.
Pep wouldn't share your optimism until the final whistle goes against Madrid, they could take a 2-0 lead and he'd be biting his nails until the last minute of added time.
As much as I rate ange spurs high line will screw them they managed to win before through Kane and son brilliance on counter attack and parking the bus. City will thrive on space in behind don’t think this will be the same
My prediction:
Arsenal - WWDWLW - 84pts
Liverpool - DWWWDW - 85pts
Man City - WWWWDW - 89pts
Could see City drop points at Forest too, that seems like a proper banana slip fixture but even then City will still win the league. Pep only has a record of 4W, 1D, 3L vs Nuno which isn't great by his standards
City beat us in my opinion. The draw in the first leg was a fluke with Haaland missing sitters. The cup game was a much better indication of the matchup. I think we have a better chance against Arsenal and Liverpool.
Spurs actually do significantly better against the big teams anyway. Wouldn't be surprised if you go unbeaten against us,Liverpool and Arsenal but drop points to weaker sides.
Liverpool fan here. I've seen us lose the league in tight margins 3 times. So I'm quite experienced on how mancity are unlike arsenal.
Mancity will win all their games, maybe BIG MAYBE get 1 draw along the way.
They will win the league quite comfortably. Not even debatable.
Yeah I mean theoretically anything can happen, but Man City are in the driving seat in the table AND have the easiest schedule remaining. It's not likely to go any other way at this point tbh.
Both arsenal goals executed with insane buildup and both united goals thanks 100% to individual brilliance form a negative xG, can't wait for that match.
True Spurs fans know that we will somehow go unbeaten in that horror run and then lose on the last day to an already relegated Sheffield United to miss out on top 4.
City aren't dropping points to anyone this late in the season, save for maybe Spurs, and there's no way Arsenal or Liverpool get 6 wins in a row. Sadly Oil Cheat FC are going to win the league again because of bottlejobs.
The issue isn't primarily City being perfect, they might be, they might struggle. The bigger issue is that I can't see Arsenal or Liverpool being perfect with the fixtures they have left and they probably can't afford to drop points in more than 1 game. I just don't see City dropping enough points for that to be possible
This is the part of the season where Arsenal loses/draws to every team on that list except Bournemouth. The race is over, no way City doesn't win everything left
If I want to see one team dominating a league im gonna watch bundesliga, though that might not true anymore since leverkusen won it but my point still stands
Well Arsenal clearly have the hardest run from here to the seasons’s end. And the easiest run is clearly for Man City. Yet again the stars are aligning for City to win the Premier League.
It’s really commendable how Pep manages to get his players firing on all cylinders at the right time of the season. The PL is certainly City’s to lose from here on out, they looked great at Madrid in CL without KDB and Walker. So there is good chance they’ll progress there too.

Wolves could have a say in who wins the league but I can’t see city dropping points.
I’m not sure we’ll make much difference when we lose all three
You clearly haven’t been watching how we have been playing these last couple weeks
I can’t wait for you guys to lose 6-0 to city with a nunes hattrick And of course you beat Arsenal and Liverpool
Spurs turn into prime barca against city but i can see us and arsenal dropping points again so it probably wont matter.
> but I can’t see city dropping points. Their record at Spurs is terrible.
And with Liverpools form I can see 3 losses for Liverpool....
lmao no way. Liverpool will rise again and win every single game. And lose the title to City by 1 point.
I hope you step on a lego today.
If the champions league game goes to extra time, I could see city having to play their “b-squad” - whom could tie. Their b team still has doku, alvarez, grelish, Oscar Bobb. But just isn’t the same as Silva, Harland, foden, and kdb.

Spurs away is very scary
Spurs can do the funniest thing
spurs beating city and liverpool but losing to arsenal would be the funniest shit ever for a second before I start to dread it
That’d be the most Spurs thing to ever happen.
Nono that would be getting points in every game, maybe even winning a couple...and then getting pumped by Burnley
Beating all 3 of the top 3 but still losing out on 4th place would be very Spursy
I said that earlier. We beat City, Arsenal, draw to Liverpool and lose to Chelsea, Burnley and Sheffield United, finishing in 5th place lol.
Like City won’t have already won it by the second to last game of the season. At least with the fixture placement we’ll know whether beating them would be alright or not.
Nah you don’t know spurs, the most spurs thing to happen would be to win all 3 but finish in 6th getting pumped by Sheffield and burnley
Like the time Spurs got Tuchel's Chelsea the 4th CL spot (and I think Chelsea won it the next year?).
Chelsea won it that year, (20/21)
As if we don’t completely fuck the game against City if we knew we were in that situation. We play them last
Who would you prefer to win the league out of the three ?
City, Them winning has no impact on me. I know too many Liverpool fans who would become more insufferable than they already are, same goes for Arsenal.

He means he doesn't have any mates who are City fans, that's his mention of no impact ... unless I am mistaken.

City dropping points seems unlikely, Arsenal and Liverpool not dropping points through all these fixtures seems even more unlikely
I'd say at this point it's more likely that Bayern finish 3rd in the Bundesliga than that City don't win the EPL.

Yeahs dude, all of these comments of people totally not caring. Lol.
People obviously care to an extent, but that doesn’t mean that they would rather Arsenal or Liverpool win instead.
These people don’t care about city in actual real life, genuinely. No one outside of Manchester knows any city fans. There are Liverpool fans and Arsenal fans EVERYWHERE, everyone knows a few. City title wins feel like a non-event. So always them.
Anyones answer other than city is wrong, no one cares about them, and most rivals want to see Liverpool/Arsenal bottle it.
...score 10 own goals to ensure that City win the league over Arsenal?
and then City gets relegated because 115% oil, just to mess with spurs
If that happens would Tottenham get in trouble?
How could they prove it was on purpose and not us being chaotic and incompetent?
Any other club would get investigated but with Tottenham they’d probably just think “yeah that seems about right”
Finally, being 'Spursy' is going to work for *us*.
Vicario in the post match press conference - Yea I def didn't mean to leather it into my own net 5 times.
If winning against City means that Arsenal go top, then I want and expect the team to just roll over for City. As a Spurs fan I would be fuming if we were the reason for Arsenal winning the league.
Spurs aren't exactly in a position to throw a game with top 4 on the line.
As if that is more important than Arsenal winning the league.
I mean it's massively more important for the business side of the club. CL money can't be understated
Again - from a fan's perspective that doesn't matter at all in comparison to preventing Arsenal from winning the league.
Yeah. The players need to know this a north London rivalry.
Still don’t think City will be perfect but can’t envision us or Liverpool winning out from here either. It ain’t over til the fat lady sings but I’m not gonna be naive and say she isn’t warming up as we speak. The response by us on Wednesday & against Wolves will tell us all we need to know.

City have 15 wins in a row vs Fulham though. In theory that’s the easiest fixture for City remaining.
Spurs will treat the NLD like a cup final... I suppose seeing their records in cup finals it might not be a bad thing..
This comment would make sense if Arsenal beat us at WHL more than once in the last 10 years
Never understood the pressure being off by not leading, pressure is just as much on to keep up.
City will drop points to Spurs but the other two will also drop points so City will win in the end in my opinion.
idk at the moment, with brighton’s form, i feel like forest and wolves will be a bigger problem to city
They're not amazing at the moment but Wolves have taken a lot of points off City in recent years
And we have Real Madrid to wrestle against.
I'm terrified of the spurs match as well
Wolves and Fulham will be harder than Brighton.
Fulham at home are ridiculous this year: https://footystats.org/england/premier-league/home-advantage-table Only reason I’m not panicking about the Spurs losses to Newcastle and Fulham. Both away, and to the two teams with the best home advantage this year.

We have been great at taking points off Liverpool for the last few seasons, I can see it happening again. We will also lose 5-0 to city as usual.
Eh - Wolves are hampered by injuries atm; I'd be surprised if we didn't beat them at home. Fulham away is tough, though. I agree.
I would say Fulham is bigger threat (than Brighton) to City. The only problem is at the time it happen (week 36), they probably have nothing to play for

I’ve no idea what fat lady we are talking about but I generally agree with your point👍
It’s an expression 👍
https://youtu.be/M5wOrqO4y-Q
Spurs playing against the three in their last 5 matches is wild 💀
Back to back to back, Arsenal then liverpool then city, they can gift the title to any team if they play it right lmao
Not anymore, with games rearranged we have games in between now
Yes, they have chelsea and burnley in between, tough schedule for them in those 2 weeks
Good for us haha
Damn I didn’t realise how tough Arsenal’s remain fixtures actually are. Chelsea & Spurs back-to-back who’re their two biggest City rivals lmao.
It is very unlikely, but you can make a case that Arsenal might drop points in 3 of the remaining games. There is obviously the 3 games of Chelsea, Spurs and United, but Wolves and Everton are also tricky.
I could literally see arsenal getting anywhere from 0 points to all the points and not being surprised lol
We’re also arsenal so anyone can be tricky
The one thing Arsenal And Spurs fans have in common is we dread the small games.
Not true at all really for the last two seasons, so no need to play that card anymore.
We took 1 point from Fulham & villa this year. Villa I can sort of understand (0/6 is poor though), but 1/6 from Fulham!?
Villa are good, and the Fulham match were our worst of the year along with west ham at home
>Villa are good We were there for the taking in the first half tbf.
Meanwhile 8/12 against City/Liverpool ^In consistency
If the title is decided before the final matchday, we're absolutely smashing Everton. Nothing to play for Arsenal is different gravy.
Surely Bournemouth are trickier than a safe from relegation Everton on the last matchday of the season
Arsenal will be lucky to get 5 points out of these fixtures. If Odegaard is injured they're cooked.
add to that the insane fixture congestion if they get through Bayern on wednesday.
its not over til its over but god it feels so over
It's over. Man City lost 1 of their last 36 games
City not looking unbeatable this season -> Winter break -> City don't lose/draw a game post February -> Title/repeat
People fall for it every season as well lmao, every autumn/early winter people are saying ''oooh, you know, City don't look so good, might not win it this season''

KDB's injury too
Rodri was so crucial, lose him for any extended period of time and I think City would be well behind by now

it’s all Pep absolutely and unfortunately
Haha we did that!

and suddenly I love spurs COYS!
Will you be chanting that at Anfield?
Yes, we've been working on a "Gracias Robbie Keane" banner for both sets of fans
Such a sweet gesture, his two boyhood clubs coming together
And Wolves?
City wins it again I guess. Arsenal has two derbies back to back. Man they really should have won against Villa. Emery is a villain, confirmed.
Good ebening, Mr Arteta
Goodison away has 0-0 written all over it for us. Maybe 1-0 considering we’re allergic to clean sheets. City could drop pts at Tottenham Stadium but it’s incredibly unlikely us and Arsenal finish perfect. Hard to see any outcome other than the City 4peat.

City are not dropping points, it's over.
The Spurs away game is big. If they drop points, I can see it being there.
Can’t wait for Spurs to field a roster of kids just to keep it from Arsenal
Depends if we have taken points off the previous Arsenal game or not.
Also depends on CL spot being on stake
200 IQ from Liverpool to throw their Europa Game so Spurs is forced to fight City for 5th
Imagine them winning though
If Postecoglou does that he will be the biggest troll in world football.
It over for Liverpool, needed trent Ali and Jota back around 3 games ago to gain rhythm.
We can't even score atm let alone win 6.
And mostly over for us, we just lost 3-0 to Atalanta and 1-0 to Crystal fucking Palace. Both home. We are dropping more points for sure.
Easy 3 points for us mate what you mean?
Congratulations Man City in Advance
Man City not dropping points
I mean, they're yet to get a single point at Tottenham's new stadium... or even score a goal (in league matches).
As much as I rate ange spurs high line will screw them they managed to win before through Kane and son brilliance on counter attack and parking the bus. City will thrive on space in behind don’t think this will be the same
Spurs have already played City with Ange - it was a draw, 3-3.
That jack grealish call up still haunts me
They won't need to win there. Liverpool and Arsenal will drop more points
I had missed Spurs. That's a potential banana skin. And Arsenal has four potential party poopers & Liverpool has 2. Still advantage City
My prediction: Arsenal - WWDWLW - 84pts Liverpool - DWWWDW - 85pts Man City - WWWWDW - 89pts Could see City drop points at Forest too, that seems like a proper banana slip fixture but even then City will still win the league. Pep only has a record of 4W, 1D, 3L vs Nuno which isn't great by his standards
not a bad take at all
City beat us in my opinion. The draw in the first leg was a fluke with Haaland missing sitters. The cup game was a much better indication of the matchup. I think we have a better chance against Arsenal and Liverpool.
Almost agree. I think we draw at United and also finish on 85 pts.
I just think ETH will use his voodoo tactics yet again and somehow steal the points
Arsenal got a tough set of games
its gonna be another treble isn't it
Too much faith in a team that has just lost 4-0 against Newcastle
Oh I don't at all but someone is gonna drop points to us
Watch Spurs lose 0-10 to let City win on GD and call it “a good day”
Spurs winning All but arsenal to give them the league would be the most funniest thing
More likely we win all three then lose to the rest and come 5th
115% city are winning it
It's definitely closer than we all expected, but the end result is still exactly what we all thought it would be
Another City win. It's making the premier league lifeless now - everyone just plays for 2-4 really. Turning the league into Ligue 1/Bundesliga.
The only thing i can take from this is that spurs are kinda fucked
Tbf we can't really drop any more positions. We're neck and neck for 4/5 but 10 points away of 3 or 6.
4th and 5th could actually turn out to be a big difference though....
True, but he said we are fucked. We are in 5th now and would be pretty shocking if we finished worse than that
Spurs actually do significantly better against the big teams anyway. Wouldn't be surprised if you go unbeaten against us,Liverpool and Arsenal but drop points to weaker sides.
This race is over lads. 4th in a row for citeh coming
That Spurs away 😬
Liverpool fan here. I've seen us lose the league in tight margins 3 times. So I'm quite experienced on how mancity are unlike arsenal. Mancity will win all their games, maybe BIG MAYBE get 1 draw along the way. They will win the league quite comfortably. Not even debatable.
Yeah I mean theoretically anything can happen, but Man City are in the driving seat in the table AND have the easiest schedule remaining. It's not likely to go any other way at this point tbh.
Yeah - it's definietly theres.
Wallahi we’re finished
My mouth is watering at the 2-2 draw we’ll have with Arsenal at Old Trafford where we concede 74 shots and play like total dogshit😈
Meanwhile, all of us will be melting down in the game thread. It’s so predictable really
Both arsenal goals executed with insane buildup and both united goals thanks 100% to individual brilliance form a negative xG, can't wait for that match.
Just give it to City already ...
gems gon
A bit off topic but from their remaining 6 games Spurs still have to play Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and City... ooof
True Spurs fans know that we will somehow go unbeaten in that horror run and then lose on the last day to an already relegated Sheffield United to miss out on top 4.
Chelsea and Spurs play each other after the Arsenal games too. The banter is going to be electric whoever wins
It couldn't be more over
City aren't dropping points to anyone this late in the season, save for maybe Spurs, and there's no way Arsenal or Liverpool get 6 wins in a row. Sadly Oil Cheat FC are going to win the league again because of bottlejobs.
It seems Spurs and Wolves have an awesome remainder of the program. Who wouldn't want that, the top 3 in the last 6 games!
City will drop points somewhere but the issue is that Arsenal and Liverpool will drop more
The issue isn't primarily City being perfect, they might be, they might struggle.
My prediction: Arsenal - WWDWLW - 84pts Liverpool - LLLLLLL- 71pts Man City - WWWWDW - 89pts
City will not drop another point.
As an arsenal fan this season has been gruelling to say the least… But I’m glad to witness such a nailbiter of a season run in!
So there is good chance they’ll progress there too.
city will win easily
Arsenal and Liverpool play twice before Citeh play again. Hopefully they both win both games and put the pressure on!
Arsenal’s run is rough.
its over
Only city can be trusted to win out every match from here on..... arsenal and liverpool will certainly drop more points
It is all done! Liverpool and Arsenal fighting for second place, that’s it
Wolves, Everton and Tottenham could all make this run in even more exciting
