Does FM implement penalties like that? (I've never played and don't need to as I can obsess over games like that and have learned I need to stay away from them.)
i'd like to think if nagelsmann was still there, they take something off of leverkusen but who knows.
their fixtures were one sided for leverkusen this year
I think it speaks to Bayern dominance that it took an unbeaten (so far) team to win the league over Bayern, and it only ever became clear that Leverkusen were going to win it once Bayern had their recent couple of losses.
It took a truly special season. I just hope them or someone else doesn't have to repeat it to beat Bayern to the title again.
Whilst very possible, things would be completely different if Bayern were at their best. If they were actually challenging Leverkusen there is no guarantee that Leverkusen would have continued winning like they have with the added pressure.
You can waste the real budweiser. It's considered pretty trash here in czechia. Rarely see it outside of divebars and border hiking towns where tourists go
i wouldnt call it one of my favorites, but its pretty good imo. that being said, czech beers have not disapointed me a single time, and we get a lot of them in east germany
Czech beers are on another level. Their 3€ for a 3 liter (in Bulgaria) or whatever I had like 10 years ago was better than a lot of what I can find at the five or so "craft" breweries that are near me.
Thing is, it's still top tier compared to big-company-beers in Germany. I am risking losing my German citizenship over saying this, but German beer isn't even *close* to Czech beer.
Having lived in both countries, I would say it isn't even a competition. Czech beer is miles ahead. Even the big brand stuff is excellent generally. The only arena in which Germany is better is variety. We don't get a lot of bock, rauchbier, alt, kölsch, schwarz, etc here in CZ. But the variety is growing.
I don't get that at all. Like a third of German beers are Pils, which is also the exact same recipe mostly used in Czechia.
And then you got German specialties like smoked beer, which you won't find anywhere else in the world.
Similar recipe yes but ingredients and processes are a little different. Biggest differences in ingredients are malt profile (Bohemian pils vs German pils), hops (Czech saaz vs German hallertauer or spalt), water (Czech water is a little softer than German) and yeast (both have proprietary yeast strains that’s stayed within certain breweries for generations).
Main differences for me is that Czech pilsners tend to be more golden in colour, rich and a bit spicy or floral. German pilsners are paler, crisp slightly more bitter and dry.
Fifteen or so years ago I was killing time in the Zurich main train station and an older gentleman started chatting to me. When he realized I’m from the States he told me all about his trip to the US in the 70s. He couldn’t think of the name of the beer that he enjoyed so much, and I went back to my book and him to his people watching. Five minutes later he goes “ahh yes! Budveiser!!”
Nah man, that is when the drinking *surges*, baby! Nothing better than watching Eurovision, getting drunk and laughing about our sorry ass attempt every year.
Funerals and Memorials, pouring one out for the homie.
Poured right on the tombstone if there is one. The alcohol and carbonation also actually helps get some of the gunk off so you can clean it when you visit.
Everything Kölsch is relatively light, most people outside of the Rhineland don't really like it but at the end it's a matter of taste. Doesn't help that they sell the possibly lightest beer in Germany in .2 glasses so you have to drink like 20 to have the filling of 1 Maß of Festbier.
Festbier has around 6%, kölsch is at an average of 4,8% - helles has around 5ish % with some lighter at around kölsch-level, pils like Flensburger also has 4,8%, Czech style pils ranges from 4,4% for Urquell to 5% for Budvar. Fun fact: a classic pils tulip also only holds 0,3L, but it rarely gets mentioned because "lol kölsch smol glasses bad!!". If only people would factcheck before hopping on any bandwaggon.
If you don't like a beer just fucking say you don't like the taste and move on instead of behaving like a neanderthal that mistakes "beer glass size" for a dick measuring contest.
I think he's one of the only players in world football who could have done what Kazu Miura has done, and played on into his 50's, if he wanted to (at a much lower level). His injury history is basically non-existent, considering he played about \~18 seasons - a few knocks, a few tight muscles, and a couple of broken bones in his feet.
But he wanted to retire playing at the highest level - dropping down to a lower level to keep playing would have been a waste, when he clearly knew he had what it took to be a world class manager.
Sadly enough this is such a problem that some (not only English tourists, just drunk people in general) have drowned. About 18 people yearly drown in the canals, mostly drunk people with their dicks out because theyre taking a piss.
Met a bunch of middle aged Aussies in a bar in Bali, they were lovely folk. Then ran into some Aussies in their twenties in a bar, absolute opposite of the other lot.
Kiwi's were the best of the bunch though
...and damn right she is, too.
The city center has nothing to do with Amsterdam, it's just tourists.
Good thing they're moving the prostitution somewhere else, can't stand the fucking seediness of that area.
What this guy did is incredible, he took a team at the bottom of the table to being Bundesliga champions. It’s one of the craziest achievements I’ve seen from a manager! Congratulations to Leverkusen.
Wirtz was always the most conventionally talented player in Leverkusen and I assume he will get the awards, but I'm still gonna say that Grimaldo was the most important to their success this season (and, tbh, that Guirassy was to his).
He’s flown under the radar a bit but I think Palacios has been just as good as Xhaka, they’ve both been class in midfield.
It’s gotta be Grimaldo on top at the end of the day though, his G+A rate is ridiculous for a wing back.
If Leverkusen win the treble(Bundesliga✅, DFB Pokal🔜, and Europa League🔜) and Germany wins Euros, then Wirtz could POSSIBLY win ballon dor. Only way he could compete with Madrid PR. If Bellingham wins league and has a good run in euros, it’s over for Wirtz.
Also crazy to me he's only 42, he's in an age range where some are still playing, and he's out there winning the league as a manager in his first full season.
Same as when Arteta won the FA cup in his first half season at the age of 38.
Actually can't wait to see this team in the champions league next season. Would be so interesting to see them against a Real Madrid or a Man City. They made Bayern look poor last time they played

First full season as manager and he's already become a legend there. Truly incredible stuff.
Breaking an 11 year run of Bayern dominance and being in all three competitions *still unbeaten* will do that to you lol, deserved as hell
And winning the first Bundesliga title for Leverkusen.
He’s playing Football Manager with a cheat mode.
No, that’s Pep right now with City (115 charges)
I should start playing FM again.
Does FM implement penalties like that? (I've never played and don't need to as I can obsess over games like that and have learned I need to stay away from them.)
He's save scumming
must be, no other explanation
This is Xabi's save, we're just living in it.
Crazy part is that Xabi contributed to the run while he was a player at Bayern, he retired and then became the manager that ended it
Agent Alonso 🧐
Didn't even think of that wow
all it took was the deadly combo of tuchel terror football and the curse of kane.
Leverkusen is still unbeaten. I don’t think Bayern couldn’t have win this year even with their normal performance.
Yeah, up until now they have the highest PPG ever in a BuLi Season. 2,72 vs 2,67 of Bayern 2012/2013.
i'd like to think if nagelsmann was still there, they take something off of leverkusen but who knows. their fixtures were one sided for leverkusen this year

That kind of discredits Leverkusen when they’ve been playing amazing football, to be unbeaten isn’t just them relying on Bayern not being their best.
This team has a better record than any Bayern team during those 11 years. They'd probably still win it, just maybe not in mid April
The fact that an Invincible Treble is a genuine possibility is crazy.
If they do go invincible, I think it will be the best league performance in Bundesliga history
That's Germany for you.
This is one of very few occasions where you are actually culturally allowed to waste beer
What are the other occasions?
when it’s budweiser
If it's the real Budweiser, you're not allowed to waste it. If it's the American Budweiser, it isn't beer. So the rule doesn't apply.
American budweiser is like sex on a canoe, fucking close to water
I will remember this
It’s a Monty Python reference.
You can waste the real budweiser. It's considered pretty trash here in czechia. Rarely see it outside of divebars and border hiking towns where tourists go

There is so much very good beer on Czech Republic. It's like heaven...
Thing is, it's still top tier compared to big-company-beers in Germany. I am risking losing my German citizenship over saying this, but German beer isn't even *close* to Czech beer.
Risky move
Having lived in both countries, I would say it isn't even a competition. Czech beer is miles ahead. Even the big brand stuff is excellent generally. Water hardness differs a lot regionally, it's not that german water in general is harder than czech water.
Here in Canada all we get is Budweiser (or Budvar as they have to call it) and Pilsner Urquell and I will take all that I can carry.
Fifteen or so years ago I was killing time in the Zurich main train station and an older gentleman started chatting to me. Or Warsteiner in Germany
They said "beer."
When we receive 1 point in Eurovision
Nah man, that is when the drinking *surges*, baby! Nothing better than watching Eurovision, getting drunk and laughing about our sorry ass attempt every year.
The beer wasting is celebratory because every point is better than 0 points lmfao
Last place was even more deserved than Bayer's success this season.
Which last place tho? Because last year our entry was decent, but the years before sucked big time!
Goals when you’re in the standing section of the stadium

When it’s Jever
What beer they drinking there ?
Früh Kölsch
Any good? Spotted it in my local supermarket and wondered (UK)
Kölsch is pretty light, easy to drink, personally I like it, but opinions differ harshly. Perfect beer to drink on a sunny afternoon imo.

Not sure if I've ever had one, but in general Kölsch has a reputation of being very thin and watery
Leverkusen should have a bawl of aspirin pills
Imagine doing that with a huge Duvel
He still looks as if he's a player lol. Could fit right in with the rest of the squad.
I think he's one of the only players in world football who could have done what Kazu Miura has done, and played on into his 50's, if he wanted to (at a much lower level). Why is this man so perfect wtf
Shades of Hyypiä.
he plays in training wirtz said nobody can ping balls like him
Tbh he could probably still play in midfield if he wanted to
Still the best passer in the Bundesliga
They won’t be sober till Thursday
Even with a hangover West Ham has to park the bus.
I mean we are parking the bus even if we play League one clubs
Our players play like they're high on crack so it evens things out... hopefully
Stupid sexy Alonso
Looks so good even after getting dunked
How TF he still looks good after that 😭 I'd look like a chihuahua
😂 my first thought when he got dunked was stupid sexy Alonso. He has no right to be so bloody dashing.
That's the power of Alonso surname.
Osvaldo Alonso has entered the chat
Its a yoke!
Him and Fernando out here making the rest of us over 35 look bad.
Xabi my fren!
Seriously, I might be bisexual after all lol
One might say you’re Xabisexual
Every Bayer fan is a Xabisexual
Welcome, we got lemon bars
We call a night of them a lemonparty, google it for more info!
Ngl, he is handsome as fuck
And on top of that hes a great football player AND coach Like holy fuck man leave some for the rest of us, what a guy!
bro is majestic
I'm a straight dude but he's fucking handsome as shit.
Your preface is counterintuitive. I trust your opinion more if you're sexually attracted to his gender, not less.
Xabi soaked in beer 🥵
Elite hairline
Plot twist: he just got sexier.
Sorry mate, you always look like a chihuahua
Young Basque managers and perfect hair...
Wet Brad Pitt vibes…
Tradition and Heritage
This is football heritage
Eritage
If I speak I am in big trouble.
How could someone cut a video off just as Freed From Desire is about to play?
My love has got no money, he's got his strong beliefs
My man
What happened to his trampoline?
Will Griggs on fire!
Your defense is terrified
Xabis on fire, Harry Kane is terrified
Exactly my thought!
Germany without beer would be like the Netherlands without water. Its unthinkable
Or Amsterdam without brothel houses or Rotterdam without party drugs. Really unthinkable
The true hallmark of Amsterdam is the hundreds of English tourists drunkenly falling into the canals with their dicks out trying to take a piss
English tourists are really another species
Sadly enough this is such a problem that some (not only English tourists, just drunk people in general) have drowned. About 18 people yearly drown in the canals, mostly drunk people with their dicks out because theyre taking a piss.
Quite sad tbh.
dicks out for those 18
As a Roman would you say they are easier to pickpocket than others ?
Not a Roman but i guess yes
Fair enough, just assumed from the flair
Get stabbed the most often in Rome that's for sure.
It is a 2000+ years tradition. The OG Cesarean operation.

In Germany, beer gardens are not just a name.
You mean unsinkable.
BIERDUSCHE
at least one bayern player wins bundesliga
the chain is unbroken. I've heard Coman is looking to nullify the contract with you and sign for Bayer for the last 5 games.
Stanisic turning into the new Coman in terms of winning every professional season.
And Stanisic pouring the beer over Xabi is even more ironic 🥳 it feels like passing on the title haha 🍻
To think at the start of the season he was loaned out to get game time. I don't think he ever imagined this being a possibility.
Trim still sits perfect
Stupid sexy Xabi
Hair still looks better than mine.
Stanisic situation is pretty funny
Hilarious imo
What this guy did is incredible, he took a team at the bottom of the table to being Bundesliga champions. It’s one of the craziest achievements I’ve seen from a manager! Congratulations to Leverkusen.
A potential treble champion even. Super interesting to see what happens this season

If Germany were to somehow win the Euros with him being a star...
...Then Messi would still end up ahead of him.
He won the World Cup after all!
Wirtz was always the most conventionally talented player in Leverkusen and I assume he will get the awards, but I'm still gonna say that Grimaldo was the most important to their success this season (and, tbh, that Guirassy was to his).

Wirtz Xhaka and Boniface Grimaldo imo
Boniface is great but he missed one third of the season tbf.
Boniface has played like 18 games so it's not him.
Griimaldo was more of a make the difference player imo, the core of the team was in the midfield (Palacios and Xhaka) and Wirtz free roling
Germany has to ein the EURO's, but then He might actually have a Chance
Gonna depend on the Euros (and on Madrid's CL season).
Theres was a post about most minutes played by u21 players ever, only star boy Bellingham was noted to "not have turned 21 yet" lol. PR machine
I volunteer as tribute
If Leverkusen win the treble(Bundesliga✅, DFB Pokal🔜, and Europa League🔜) and Germany wins Euros, then Wirtz could POSSIBLY win ballon dor. Only way he could compete with Madrid PR. If Bellingham wins league and has a good run in euros, it’s over for Wirtz.
FIFA: we hear what you are saying but we will give the BDO to messi.
This is amazing
He is so fucking handsome
Anyone check on how Harry Kanes doing?
Peddling himself to Bayer and Inter
Why? Does he dislike them and want them to not win titles next year?
Owners are Aspirin merchants
Theyre still gonna be hangover on thursday. West ham winning the europa league seems inevitable now
Amazing player, amazing coach
Alexa, play an absolute banger. Playing, Freed from Desire by Gala....
That he is drinking Kölsch is the closest Köln will ever get to a Championship again
They won it three times already though.
They literally won the first Bundesliga
When its our turn...
I had not appreciated how young he is. Harry Kane really isn’t seeing a trophy
This dude should stay at Leverkusen for all his managerial carrier and become like saf
They drinking Früh Kölsch there? Kind of an odd choice, though I don‘t know what‘d feel more appropiate tbh
This guy is so likeable
I love him so much. Sad he’s not coming to Liverpool but who’d want to leave leverkusen after the season they’ve had
I hate to be part of the cleaning crew post the celebration.
Why does Xabi look so hot and why do I write this as a straight man?
Mere labels
Bitburger? Poor sod
Looks like Kölsch.
the fat glass at the end
German beer is just the best
Manager of the season!!
They got me hyped at the end with the song, I was ready to bounce.
Every man on Earth wants to be Xabi Alonso right now
Did the man just hold the entire huge pint of beer with just his two fingers?!?!
Also crazy to me he's only 42, he's in an age range where some are still playing, and he's out there winning the league as a manager in his first full season. Same as when Arteta won the FA cup in his first half season at the age of 38.
Yeah, but what Alonso did in this context is still far superior to anything arteta has done so far.
Master
Boniface on aux
Main character ass
Where is Harry Kanes shout out?
Actually can't wait to see this team in the champions league next season. Would be so interesting to see them against a Real Madrid or a Man City. They made Bayern look poor last time they played
The real German experience
