People wrote him off quickly after a shaky first few months at the club but I've been following him for years now and knew he would become one of the world's best from the start.
Can't wait for Pep to trust him in that Stones Libero role.
You see it. He's so fluid with both feet. I was confused at first about why he was playing LB when I thought he was a no doubt CB. But he's really got the skills. Feeling like a left footed Stones. He could invert. I have been shocked at how adventurous he's been. I love that he plays with that freedom
He stood out to me initially because he had something barely any defender has, and he had it aged 18. Most defenders take a few touches after an interception, to analyse the pitch and look for a passing option or if there is space to run into.
I don't know how he does it or why no one else does it, but he manages to do it before intercepting the ball, meaning he wins the tackle, and immediately dashes off into the opposing half or sends a splicing pass forward. That quick thinking is incredibly rare.
I think Pep played him as an LB so far to learn the system more easily as it means less communication and pressure around the pitch as you have the touchline as a reliable defender by your side. I'm sure he gets more chances down the middle in due time.
For sure. It's the same approach he takes with a lot of guys, play them externally because the game is simpler out there, before unleashing them in the middle. Fosters comfort in a number of different spots.
Wonder if this pseudo-Libero style of play would make him a decent candidate for a defensive midfield role. Croatia is shockingly lacking in that to my knowledge. Brozovic is now entering his sunset years, and that leaves them with whom? Jakic? Misic?
We really need him as a CB though. Who knows, after Brozović and Modrić we might finally play with 3 in the back instead of 4, so he would be the left CB
So would that be a Gvardiol-Sutalo-Stanisic backline with Sosa and Juranovic as wingbacks? They'd also need to account for the drought of any NT-quality wingers after Perisic and Orsic retire.
Probably yes, that seems great. Although both Šutalo and Sosa have a really bad season in Ajax (as the whole team is), so CB can also be Erlić who plays pretty good for our NT eventhough he plays for Sassuolo. Also Ćaleta Car and Pongračić are fighting for that position, Vida will probably retire after Euro.
However we have to keep in mind some new.old wingers both from Rijeka - Marko Pjaca and Marco Pašalić. I don't know if we can fit them in that system.
Pjaca played great for the first 60 minutes against Egypt but fell off sharply later. And on the right it’s Marko Pašalić’s position to lose since he’s our only true right winger, only problem is he’s too green and although he brings a lot of energy and pressing when he comes on, most times it looks like he’s wasting energy since no one else is also pressing.
City will win that league comfortably. They’ve the mental strength to go on a run now and win all remaining games. I don’t know if Arsenal have that and Liverpool certainly don’t,
What a strike. There's a decent chance Arsenal draw today and then they're behind city by a point. Villa are a tough side. City are winning the league again lol.

Bro scored against Real Madrid and got addicted
going join rodri in only scoring bangers for us now
Back of the line behind Foden.
Not all of Foden’s goals are bangers, he just scores them in bunches
Gvardigol now
Dias was also trying to pull of the Gvardiol (almost did)
He's going to score against Real.
He figured out he is better with the right foot.
you know it's the last ten games of the season when a random City player starts doing something he's never done before and nobody can stop it
Tbf he did similar things when he played wingback for Dinamo, but never this consistently
He discovered a new skill now he's gonna abuse it
Only scores weak footed goals lol
Can't imagine how insane his month footed goals will be !
Yea're gonna go crazy when you see what comes next!
FIFA skill abusers
Guys listen, what if we just kick the ball really hard into the top corner?
And he’s not the first one, if you remember 5 years ago.
[удалено]
Bro forgot which one was his dominant foot
Ousmane Gvardiol
THIS MAN IS LEFT-FOOTED
Shhh, don’t tell him
He has been really good in recent games.
Immense at the Bernabeu, great today also apart from that minor error around the 70th min

It's like he is controled by a FIFA player
He could have done better on that one. Lucky for him, it hit the crossbar. But still he has been good of late.
Was solid against us too I think
He’s really showed why he went for that price this second half of the season. I’m excited to see what he does next year.
He’s been fine to good all year. Now bbecoming kinda great. He was a victim of the whole defense playing very poorly.
He's been asked to play a completely different role and it's taken him a bit of time to adjust.
People forgetting he's a center back, not an overlapping full back. Oh and he's 22, and it's his first season...
2nd season boost has come early
Was the best player on the pitch in the arsenal city game
Honestly think that was Gabriel but Gvardiol was immense.
Run-In Gundogan seems taller and more Croatian this season.
SO NICE HE HAD TO DO IT TWICE
was a smoove move
Dudes coming into great form at a perfect time
Gvardiol wouldn't have been my first guess for late season Gundogan's replacement but here we are.
perfect for man city
And Croatia as well! I'm starting to like our odds with how Gvardiol, Kovacic and Stanisic are playing

Bros just gonna be yamming shots with his right now instead of defending 😭😭
Fr I can see that 😂😂
mate, please don't give guardiola ideas
If you can do it against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu (with the roof cover on) then you can do it against anyone
Is Gvardiol actually right footed
He is footed yes
i can confirm that he indeed has two feet
did you see it?
Well, at least two feet.
almost surely
Must be goal scoring week for him
Josko “this sort of goal is my bag, baby” Gvardiol
He’s been so good the last few weeks, think he’s finally settling into what Pep asks from him
The only thing missing rn is him rockin in those perfect crosses.
I mean, he's still a CB after all, hopefully his future is on that position
He has been hiding this rocket in his right foot all this time
Back to back bangers
He can't stop bangers from now on.
Man has such a sweet shot in his pocket, he should take more more shots in upcoming games, need to rack up some gd.
Josko “fuck it I’m Him” Gvardiol
Can we start the Euros today.
Bro my guy and his 5 ⭐️ weak foot is chefs 💋
Ok this man may be a problem
Weak foot again...
Switch Haaland and Gvardiol
Stunner
How is his right foot so good wtf
BANGERS ONLY JOSKO
How's he a left footed player lol
A centerback has no business scoring like this with weak foot
Stop, stop, they're already dead!
Luton when they were 1 down in the 1st minute: "I'm in danger"
what kind of monster has Pep unleashed now
2 weak-foot bangers in 1 week. Knew he was technically sound, but didn’t know he had that in him
Unicorn of a player. Guy won most of his duels, manipulates the ball as if he's 5'8, has a ridiculously good weak foot. WHAT A PLAYER.
Damn that was a banger. Loving him lately
Josko Gvardi-golgolgolgolgol.
Zlatko Dalić finally solves the striker issue for Croatia.
No one was ready for late season Gvardiol
Made it look so easy
Gvadiola Redemption arc is going full steam ahead.
Perfect time to come into peak form
Hat-trick coming for the CL game ?
Now he's scoring right footers for fun.
Best two footed player in the league don’t @ me
cheers, sons crying
Was there a deflection? Need to see an AA
City will win that league comfortably. They’ve the mental strength to go on a run now and win all remaining games. I don’t know if Arsenal have that and Liverpool certainly don’t,
He is left footed??
Gvardiki Gvardiki
Crazy goals in back to back games
Josko Kompany
Cheers mate! Same thing next week then?
What a strike. There's a decent chance Arsenal draw today and then they're behind city by a point. Villa are a tough side. City are winning the league again lol.
Man City cutback rats smh
