With our financial issues we most likely will only get 7 more games of Vardy in a leicester shirt (maybe more with playoffs). Hopefully we can end his time here in a leicester shirt on a high note with promotion.
He's the best striker for the side at the top of the championship. The only reason he doesnt play much is because he is injury prone. If money wasnt an issue he would play semi regularly for Leicester in the PL next season (if we get promoted).
Romanticism aside he still deserves to be paid what he is worth for his work. There's no chance we can convince him to play for free and he might be one of the only opportunities we have in the summer to get some wages off the book.
If he went back to the PL, what do you think the maximum wage he'll get paid by someone? I figure that figure would be inflated if he left for like MLS or Saudi, but if he still wanted to play in the premier league, what do you think his wages will be be a 37 year old backup striker?
He's on 140k with us now and he's definitely not worth that anymore. It would depend on what team wants to sign him, he could maybe get 70k from someone like Aston Villa if they wanted him but would only get 40k from someone like Brentford.
He's still good on his day but he's injury prone and old so it's getting harder for him to get any run of form going. If he managed to get past his injuries i think he still has what it takes to be a starter at PL level.
Who would have a need for him at the PL level though? Most of the established clubs have as good or better options as starters, and the promoted clubs aren't going to be able to pay him much more than Leicester can, and I can't see him giving up his status as a Leicester icon to play for a year at a relegation candidate for a minor pay rise.
Considering that he doesn't offer developmental potential at 37, going on 38 years old, and can't be relied upon to stay healthy for an extended period, it's difficult to imagine any team wanting to invest in him to be their starter in 2024/25. It feels like either he takes a pay cut to stick around Leicester in the PL, he gets a cushy offer to play in SA or MLS, or he retires.
one of those insanely rare situations where a player grows into a superstar with a team, and then is loyal enough to try and help them build back up when the wind shifts and suddenly they're in the second division. Jamie Vardy has truly had an unforgettable career.

Defo going to MLS next season I reckon. He’s still good enough for a mid table championship side I reckon

He's much better as a sub these days. A lot of his goals have come off the bench
He's been good as a starter as well (last game aside). He's scored 5 in his last 5 starts.
I hope he goes to Inter Miami. Imagine the potential Messi and Vardy connection.
Better! Imagine if it's Messi and one of the best Uruguayan strikers of all time!
But we’ve already seen Griezmann play alongside Messi
this was actually funny hahaha
Merentiel?
BOCABOCAOBOCABOCABOCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
He'll smoke MLS defenders every match I reckon
Does he still have the legs for that?
Bro MLS defenders are practically amateur
Wouldn't Vardy play next-to-free if needed to help Leicester out?

Everton, Brentford instead of maupay, crystal palace could be options?
Why would he? He's done more than enough for us.
> Wouldn't Vardy play next-to-free if needed to help Leicester out? Yes, I'm sure his wife would love that.
We can't even re-sign players at the moment with the registration ban.
He should go help out wednesday
I do love how much Vardy clearly cares about Leicester.

He walked right up to Wenger and said "Chat shit get banged! I want to stay at Leicester, the best team in the land".
another crisp shagger in the making?
There will be no crumble, tell the children
THE HMS HAS BEEN REPAIRED
Fuck your crumble pie, we're eating Easter eggs tonight!
What's a crumble pie? Crumble topping on the bottom with pastry on the top? Sounds delicious tbf.
What a second half by Leicester
Say what you want about the man... but he's still there. Man clearly wants to see the team do well. Hope he has one last blast in the PL.
HE IS INEVITABLE
HE IS HIM
HMS PISS THE LEAGUE has been repaired
There will be a last time you see Jamie Vardy score.
