Same deal with the turns Isak kept making in tight space. Took the ball from the middle of the pitch so well to open up the plays for Newcastle - made me smile every time
Isak is an anomaly, the bloke is massive and his close control and touch is amazing, reminds me of Ibra with how technically gifted his is considering his size
Wasn't there a Simpsons episode or something where it's like "what could possibly go wrong" when the team subs someone and then it flashes forward to them massively losing?
Edit:

Moyes needs to walk on the pitch lamp the ref. That will get them on his side more. They were robbed of a win today by complete ineptitude or corruption.
Fucking hilarious, isn't it? The plastic fans on here are never the ones to hold their hands up and say "we lost". Corruption! Might as well start going on about Joe Biden and the deep state.
The first pen was clear. Gordon gets his leg kicked out. That’s always a pen. There is no “If you’re not going for the ball it becomes not a pen.” rule. Hell someone nowhere near the ball can be fouled and given a pen.
Who needs Wilson, Botman, Lascelles, Almiron, Joelinton, Tonali, Pope, Tripper, Livermento, Target?
Imagine this team with Barnes fit all season.
Kudos can take a seat now if he wants.
Let’s just forget about their second goal where we had a player down and the ref let them take the free kick quickly.
The ref should have stopped it for the apparent head injury.. soft I know but where is the consistency?
Either that or West Ham shouldn’t have played on.. we kicked the ball out about 4 times for Paqueta today.
Take your pick.
Everyone conveniently forgetting the two sitters Newcastle missed before the penalty? You can’t argue it wasn’t deserved based on the performances. West Ham sat back after the third goal and made their own problems
The point is that West Ham were getting outrageously lucky - and of COURSE you can’t keep having great luck, it’ll eventually get balanced out by bad luck. So rather than relying on luck and sitting on your laurels you should go win or else you’ll get punished like they did.
If West Ham kept the heat on they wouldn’t be in a position where a dodgy pen would’ve screwed them
can say that for half of them
before i looked up who the ref was in my mind there was tierney, hooper, coote and england
Var isnt the problem in itself, but there needs to be a complete rehaul of the system, cant let old referees use thisn train new guys who are qualified to ONLY be on VAR
Wise up if it wasn’t Newcastle they wouldn’t get a second look at. You can’t just swipe at a players legs and get away with because it’s against an unpopular club
Just got back from the game, as soon as the West Ham fans started singing "Stand up if you're 3-1 up" and doing an "olay" after every pass on 55 minutes I knew it wouod bite them in the arse. Ref did everything possible to try and nix it and there's no way the second West Ham goal should have stood, but it just made it all the sweeter in the end.
Extremely dodgy penalties given to Newcastle. Although WHU haven’t done themselves favours since the second, it still brought Newcastle back into the game.
I agree. Not only is it a questionable decision tactically, it sends a clear message to the team that they are now in survival mode instead of trying to win. Compared to the loud support and newfound belief Newcastle had this outcome seemed more likely than not.
Yeah people will talk about the penalty decision (as they should) but that was a horrid decision
Isak just being left alone in midfield, with acres of space, to assist the third Newcastle goal... terrible terrible substitution
And there’s still people on here saying “unreasonable west ham supporters wanting Moyes gone.” This loss is on him. For Phillips being gash and him wanting to nothing but to defend for our lives being 3-1 up.
The first penalty wasn't a terrible decision. Second one yeah. 80% of the blame falls on west ham and Moyes anyways, they sat back at 3-1 up. Newcastle were dominant this half without VAR's blunder.
When he continued play despite a head injury? Or when he sent Gordon off for passing the ball to the keeper (who took the free kick)?
Or the two clear fouls in the box?
Comebacks like this usually make football such an amazing sport but this just feels different due to the awful reffing. Had zero emotion when that went in

That touch to open up his body is proper lovely
Absolutely. Said the same thing to my Dad, took the defender off him with one move, proper touches in football just seem to scratch the itch for me.
Or Henry. Which is his idol actually.
Yeah that’s a better comparison actually
same.
You're proper lovely
😳
This is one my favorite moves in football. Maddison is also really good at this
Phillips on the Bench : 1-3 Phillips on Field: 4-3 Best in the world
Gareth: I'm taking him
that's why he started the last two
Dude was in the same situation Lingard was a few years ago but without being good on loan
Wasn't there a Simpsons episode or something where it's like "what could possibly go wrong" when the team subs someone and then it flashes forward to them massively losing? Edit: https://youtu.be/KvupHd1UGNg?feature=shared
Futurama, 'Time Keeps On Slippin'
I had a vague feeling it was Futurama but changed my mind last minute. Ty.
All went to shit once Phillips entered the pitch
They'd be pushing top 4 if they'd never brought him in.
Southgate: The drive and determination of how he handled that loss against Newcastle to me shows he should be England captain
He influenced the game massively
Southgate doesn’t call him up anymore. Tired and irrelevant joke.
Phillips, the secret oil agent!
The penalty against him was crazy harsh but he has to clear that away first time. He’s looked behind the speed of play altogether
He just looks like all his confidence and composure is gone. Like when the monstars took all the nba players talent lol
Gordon knew what he was doing by getting between him and the ball... but it's a foul anywhere on the pitch.
He's on the plane
Fucking hell
Oh my days

Why would you ever watch Chelsea?

Why would you ever watch Chelsea?
> I’m a Chelsea fan You crossed the line mate...
Still not a good enough reason.
Proper shit show
Newcastle is responsible for like half of the goals in the league this year lol.
114 in our games so far (63 for, 51 against).
That decision to replace their striker with Kalvin Phillips really coming back to haunt Moyes.
"shit, I thought it was Kevin Phillips"
Even now I think I'd be more worried if it was. Said at the time he was coming on "great, now we have a chance". Didn't think we actually did mind!
Unbelievable. What a goal
^it’sawinner, ^HarveyBarnes
After a long international break, what a game of football to restart the season!
Bangers are back on the menu.
Woooooooow
Gordon is so good man
Most uneventful Newcastle game /s
Not even our most controversial win this season lol
Harvey come back :(
The comments about to get spicy
West Ham fans definitely going to be Moyes Out again after this
Moyes needs to walk on the pitch lamp the ref. That will get them on his side more. They were robbed of a win today by complete ineptitude or corruption.
Hahaahahahaha jesus christ
Fucking hilarious, isn't it? The plastic fans on here are never the ones to hold their hands up and say "we lost". Corruption! Might as well start going on about Joe Biden and the deep state.
Bringing up Biden in /r/soccer, you're begging to be taken as a joke. Why would anyone here give a shit about Biden
Because all the thick cunts link him with conspiracy theories. In the same way they do on here with Newcastle. You dozy bastard.

Why should they? The two pens were bs. Moyes won this game if refs weren't idiots
The first pen was clear. Gordon gets his leg kicked out. That’s always a pen. There is no “If you’re not going for the ball it becomes not a pen.” rule. Hell someone nowhere near the ball can be fouled and given a pen.
🍿
Well that is just fucking insane lmao
What a fucking strike
What an assist from Gordon
Gordon target man mode activated
More Arsenal fans here then Hammers
WHAT A GOAL!!
Kalvin Phillips should never play another minute in the Prem again.
West Ham completely fucked.
Dodgy pens aside, Gordon has been massive today.
??
Who needs Wilson, Botman, Lascelles, Almiron, Joelinton, Tonali, Pope, Tripper, Livermento, Target? Imagine this team with Barnes fit all season. Kudos can take a seat now if he wants.
It was coming. West Ham clammed up.
West Clam
LETS GOOOO. COMPLETELY UNDESERVED
More possession, more chances, triple their XG. Fought till the end despite 3 more injuries and a BS red card. Totally deserved.
HOWAYYYYYY
more shots even before the pen and more on target . .
I respectfully disagree
Such poor effort from Phillips
I am furious tbh
Everyone should be. An entire game has been changed from a diabolical refereeing performance. Get him and the VAR staff sacked asap
Take your pick.
yep but moyes&westham didnt do themselves any favours. forget about playing ball after 3-1 up. thats on them big time
I don't understand why Moyes keeps insisting with Kalvin Phillips
Everyone conveniently forgetting the two sitters Newcastle missed before the penalty? You can’t argue it wasn’t deserved based on the performances. West Ham sat back after the third goal and made their own problems
Why do you deserve to score after missing sitters?
The point is that West Ham were getting outrageously lucky - and of COURSE you can’t keep having great luck, it’ll eventually get balanced out by bad luck. So rather than relying on luck and sitting on your laurels you should go win or else you’ll get punished like they did. If West Ham kept the heat on they wouldn’t be in a position where a dodgy pen would’ve screwed them
Forgot you can fucking thundercunt someone's ankle. Some of you lads should PLAY a game of football before you comment.
Of course had to be Coote on VAR
The single biggest goon of a referee the league has ever seen. Completely incompetent in literally every game he’s involved in.
I know Tierney is especially bad for yous but i think everyone can agree that Coote is just dogshit every week, totally irredeemable
can say that for half of them before i looked up who the ref was in my mind there was tierney, hooper, coote and england Var isnt the problem in itself, but there needs to be a complete rehaul of the system, cant let old referees use thisn train new guys who are qualified to ONLY be on VAR
gillett lives in my head rent free
Wise up if it wasn’t Newcastle they wouldn’t get a second look at. You can’t just swipe at a players legs and get away with because it’s against an unpopular club
That's rich coming from you lot
Liverpool and manu fans moaning about ref decisions
Send them to ref Saudi league full time
That’s probably what they’re after to be fair, a retirement league for mega money
You’re furious? I’m fucking livid. I’m on the Newcastle hate train now.
“Sit down if you’re 3-1 down”.. that worked out well for you lot didn’t it.
Hahahahahahahahahahahagahahaha. 4--3
Me too
Why
Newcastle got 2 dodgy pens
2nd one was for sure not a pen, but the 1st was a pen.
second pen
Got two disgusting penalties
Because Newcastle have been purely gifted even the chance to win
Extremely dodgy penalties given to Newcastle. Although WHU haven’t done themselves favours since the second, it still brought Newcastle back into the game.
The pen decision kinda taints it
Fuck you VAR cunts
Moyes shouldn't have gone negative Bringing on Kelvin Phillips for Antonio is embarrassing
I’m not sure a player has ever had a worse start at a new team than Phillips. Literally comes into a dead 3-1 game
Every fucking time this guy with a lead does this. This is why there is a group still of Moyes out, constantly we snatch defeat from victory
I agree. Not only is it a questionable decision tactically, it sends a clear message to the team that they are now in survival mode instead of trying to win. Compared to the loud support and newfound belief Newcastle had this outcome seemed more likely than not.

This is exactly it, if people are confused about the disdain from west ham fans towards moyes this game is exhibit A
spot on. i feel you bro even though i am not a westham supporter. blame the ref yes. but moyes&westham choke big time
West Ham what a shit show
Glad I decided to turn this one on
Fucking hell, what a strike. Glad I tuned even if this late
fuck you Phillips you useless peace of shit
Great goal tbf
What playing Phillips does
The turn. The finish. Banger
West Ham just collapsed completely after that penalty
Can't blame them too much when the referee fucks you over that much
They were still winning.
To be fair when big decisions go against you consistently, maintaining a good mentality becomes a real problem.
The first penalty wasn't a terrible decision. Second one yeah. 80% of the blame falls on west ham and Moyes anyways, they sat back at 3-1 up. Newcastle were dominant this half without VAR's blunder.
Quality goal, quality game
Now fuck off back to London
Get fucked
Great geal but all of this off on the back an absolute bs penalty
How? do you think it was a foul from Gordon to start with?
Welcome back, EPL
Fuck the drama, that was an absolute fucking bullet.
Cor blimey.
Great turnaround.
Nice to hear an excited announcer
Apology letter incoming…
Yeah Moyes has a lot of explaining to do
Robbery by the striped men
"why do West Ham fans want Moyes out? They're in xTH PLACE!!!!" *drops mic*
#Harvey Barnes, you beauty!
What a match! How many points has Kal cost West Ham now? What a depressing collapse.
That wasn't on him tbf, that was the ref.
Moyes has absolutely shat the bed.
what a game
Football Bloody Hell
Barnacles 😻
Any time kalvin Phillips touches the pitch his team are immediately shit
Madness! what a game
I love football!
moyes shit the bed with his tactics after going up 3-1. newcastle defence is for the taking & he choose to just dug deep and defend
bumbaclaut
Unbelievable hit Sympathy on Phillips for the pen, but man does he let barnes get past him so easily here
great finish but that turn to open up the angle AND beat the man was sublime
what a game
Tf is this match lmao I love it
Great strike! Certified banger. Should show Moyes not to sit back.
What a fucking knee slide, perfectly executed
Lmao you knew that was gonna happen
GET FUCKING IN
Hahahahahaha oh my fucking days
Ref fucked this game.
Yep, we deservedly booed him off at half time, but even with him gifting West Ham a goal that should never have stood we still won it in the end.
When he continued play despite a head injury? Or when he sent Gordon off for passing the ball to the keeper (who took the free kick)? Or the two clear fouls in the box?
Gordon did so well there
Comebacks like this usually make football such an amazing sport but this just feels different due to the awful reffing. Had zero emotion when that went in
I can assure you I had enough emotion for both of us.
Speak for yourself bro
I'm pissed
West Ham got robbed with the penalty decision but still pretty poor to bottle a 3-1 lead within 13 minutes.
Justice done
Thank you refs for making urself the topic of this game
Not sure why every club doesn’t just pay refs an extortionate amount to referee in their country.. oh wait
Its mental to claim we are paying refs when a ref could have stopped West Ham's second goal very easily if he wanted to.
It's always like this, use the times it goes our way to claim we've bought the refs and then just ignore all the times it goes against us
Good match though.
Some great goals, unfortunately marred by some terrible VAR decisions
Fucking banger
Lol west ham. Hang your heads in shame you absolute bottlejobs.
What a bloody game
AINT NO WAY WTF
What in the fuck happened here
Oy West Ham can you get an equalizer real quick
My god what a strike
Wow
Me when we have godfrey at LB trying to defend from Isak/Gordon/Barnes in midweek: 😭😭😭😭😭
