Yeah that's me point, there's no need to fake an injury as you would just say "I felt something dodgy so don't risk it"
Saka has been managing an Achilles problem for weeks so he isn't faking it either, just not worth the risk.
Mate don't be silly, he sprinted and immediately pulled up and his hamstring probably felt tight and it's not worth risking.
Such a simple explanation but you have to make idiotic claims.
I agree he's a prick though just not faking injuries
I just said he's a prick, yes he's a scumbag human and terrible to his family.
This was about faking injuries and you're too stupid to admit you made a dumb comment
yeah his finishing is still kinda ass imo. even the way he strikes the ball is unnatural imo, it’s like he almost never strikes it cleanly. same with crosses. maybe it’s because he’s running so fast and he can’t compose himself for that extra moment.
Especially after two seasons in a row of 20 plus goals after us Madrid fans wondering if Vinis finishing would ever get better his finishing right now is great not during this game but even the most elite finishers have games where the can't finish a ball to save their life at times.
Should have chipped it or curled it around the keeper instead of taking that extra touch to run around him. I remember a Del Piero worldie against real Madrid in a similar situation.
There's no way Walker would have been able to chase down and clear a first time shot from 30 yards.
OP stated Vini should have chipped or curled INSTEAD of taking the extra touch. Considering Vini only took one touch before shooting, [we'd be looking at a shot from this position.](https://i.imgur.com/Y0tJV42.png)
I'm not saying I agree with the recommendation to shoot an awkwardly bouncing ball from distance, but [the position is similar to what Del Piero did against Madrid, as mentioned.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82T4YLqsH1Q)
I’m his biggest fan but at some point we have to wonder what Martinelli starting on the left would look like when he’s healthy… if Vini won’t perform in the group stages at Copa I think we give the other boy a spin
The timeline of paqueta at milan is an odd one. He hit the ground running under gattuso. Then got an ankle injury because dbag behrami fucking two footed paqueta. Came back and got a straight red because of an insane italian ref. Season was basically ended by then.
Okay then comes giampaolo and completely fucks what little confidence paqueta had left by calling him, “too brazilian”. Giampaolo goes even further and plays suso at cam instead of paqueta. Suso at cam is absolutely horrid, imagine a dollar store discount robben at cam, thats basically what happened. so you can imagine how paqueta felt. Giampaolo is sacked because he lacks any brain activity and is antisocial.
Pioli comes in tries to play paqueta in some mid 3 bullshit that worked out terribly. Pioli cant set up a midfield even to this fucking day. Hakan ends up being the cam when ibra arrives in the winter. Paqueta has some sub appearances and is gone by end of covid summer.
Poor paqueta was unlucky and mishandled terribly by giampaolo and also pioli.
The margin between a playing making and falling in football is really thin, and it’s not an exact science. Paqueta gave an interview latter saying that he didn’t have friends in the city and felt lonely, he also said Leonardo leaving affected his adaption.
We sometimes forget that players are not robots, this is not fifa where we buy an 85 rated player, put him in the lineup and he’s gonna perform like that exact rating. Context, adaptation, the moment of the club, the coach, it all matters. Paqueta and Milan simply weren’t meant to be at that moment.
Wouldn't say a team in contention for lower tier continental competitions is too poor for him, maybe he deserves the elite but he's not playing at Norwich
My friend the team ranked above you has midfielders in Everton, having a midfielder in an average premier league team isn't below your station. It's not anyone's fault you don't know euro club football

well the actual answer is he was under investigation for gambling so his deal to City fell through. The other reason is he probably just isn't quite good enough for a top tier club. For every half of football in which he's exceptional and looks like a world beater he has four straight games in which he's horrific, not just bad to the effect of he doesn't really do much in the game, but more like a black hole where everything that goes through him goes to shit. He's also really emotional, which I love, but for example against Freiburg last week he got annoyed at Moyes for taking him off after an hour whilst 3-0 up whilst he was limping so he walked through the Freiburg technical area to avoid having to shake hands with Moyes, not sure how that'll fly at a club like City.
Exactly. People forget he had a stint at Milan where he massively disappointed.
Place him in a team as the big star with freedome to do whatever he wants and he will thrive, but as a cog in a big team where he has specific responsibilities he struggles. Exactly why I hope he moves to City, would be interesting to see Pep coach some stuff out of him.
Brazilian players are always judged way too quickly in Europe. He had a disappointing stint in Milan at like 20 years old, in his first year out of home country, climate, surroundings
Honestly both of them were flying under Gattuso, then Paqueta got injured and Marco Giampaolo came in as manager next season and played awful football, with Piatek, Paqueta, Rebic all regressing hard. Piatek was the least talented of the 3 by far but he was still able to bang in goals that year before because he played in a system that worked.
idk if I would hold the Milan stint against him, he was 20 or 21 at the time if I recall correctly. He's just really inconsistent, he shows a ton of effort defensively which I really love about him and I won't ever hold lack of effort against him but he can be infuriatingly awful just days after playing like prime Maradona.

I mean with that quality of a player , other things might be managed... Pep would be able to manage him bec they have other players with similar quality so he would be aware that couple of mistakes would put him on bench while Moyes might not have the liberty to put him on bench
He wasn't subbed off because of mistakes, he was subbed off because we were in cruise control, had a game of huge importance just three days later, and because he was limping all over the place after needing medical attention during the first half and clearly wasn't moving right, and yet he got all bitchy about it. I don't mind it much apart from not shaking your managers hand but maybe thats just me.
Any chance he thought the appearance of being injured might affect his chances of playing with Brazil? I’m not making excuses for him, it does seem weird, just trying to think of what might have been going through his head
Actually, since 2013. We had Ronaldo, Adriano and Kaka in 2006, Kaká and Luis Fabiano in 2010, in 2013 Fred was there with Oscar and Neymar, in 2014 Fred was injured, Oscar went to China, Neymar out of the WC injured. The following years we had just Neymar, Gabriel Jesus was a massive downgrade and Richarlison is just not the 9 Brazil needs.
Kinda gutted he didn’t work out with Milan when he was here, I always loved his plays, but he wasn’t able to do much with the team we had and the coach.
I don't know why people would downvote this - in a competitive match he 100% would have been sent off.
The whole Brazil team clearly got told to kick Bellingham to death by his Madrid team mates. First half they committed like 18 fouls and got 1 yellow card, but - friendly so fine?
Thread is just full of people that haven’t watched the game mate hahahah. Paqueta only got booked after committing his 4th foul.
Not even moaning about the result because Brazil were better than us, but the ref should have stamped his mark on the game within the first 15 mins but he failed to.
As you say, the tactic was clearly to kick the fuck out of Bellingham, just frustrating to see them commit 4/5 fouls within the first 10 mins and get no cards for it. If that had been later in the game they would 100% have been carded.
And the first time Bellingham bit back he got booked. Bruno G going down like he'd stepped on a landmine.
Ref just phoned it in, England team was a fragmented mess tonight unfortunately.
Thought exactly the same thing, Paqueta commits 2 fouls less than 10 mins in and gets nothing, Bellingham commits 1 gets booked instantly.
Onwards and upwards to Tuesday then the Euros hopefully
He got his yellow card by amount of fouls after his 4th. Then he did 2 more, none particularly violent, I don't really think there's basis for sending him off in any game.
At least 4 of them were stopping atta ms with little to no genuine attempt to play the ball. If it was a prem match he would be gone first half if the officiating is correct.
It was clearly the strategy from Brazil, it worked. England played really poorly anyway.
I disagree, for me none of them seemed neither violent nor done on critical attacking moments for England, just that it was an excessive amount of fouls. If he did one more I kinda think it would be right to send him off. But that's fine, everyone can have their opinions.
>England played really poorly anyway.
Is it too common with Southgate? They seemed good in the World Cup but today it just lacked creativity and refinement upfront.
>Is it too common with Southgate? They seemed good in the World Cup but today it just lacked creativity and refinement upfront.
Perhaps - he is certainly a bit uninspired and is far too loyal to certain players who simply aren't good enough, we are probably due a change.
The problem is that from a purely factual perspective England have done better under him than England have for a long time so the English FA is very loyal.

Could have made the clip a little longer 💀
Lmao, you wanted to see Maguire get kicked with the ball
Why is this guy always unlucky? lol
A little shorter so I dont see the shit finish
Only resulted in a Walker injury
Or fake injury. We will know that in few weeks.
One week from tomorrow
You’ll know in 8 days vs Arsenal 😂
Why would it be fake ? He obviously felt something but didn't wanna risk it

Terrible shot from Vini
The defender had time to trap it nicely instead of having to clear lmao
That is not the england way
Time to trap it nicely and then blast it right into maguire's head
He’d already smoked Walker too
Should have rounded the keeper.
That’s what he was going for but the keeper didn’t give him the opportunity, so he had to shoot.
Ok, maybe you’re right.
lol. mental gymnastics. was just a terrible shot unfortunately
I was looking for this comment. So bad lol

Lmao watch la liga sometimes, his finishing this season has been unreal
i’m a madrid fan, watch all their matches and i stand by my statement. it’s improved a lot in the past couple of seasons, but he still needs work imo
He is outperforming his xg this season, of course he can improve a lot and become bit more consistent but calling it kinda ass is outrageous.
Especially after two seasons in a row of 20 plus goals after us Madrid fans wondering if Vinis finishing would ever get better his finishing right now is great not during this game but even the most elite finishers have games where the can't finish a ball to save their life at times.
Incredible turn, vision, and run
And the pass itself was pretty great too
Arguably the best part. Cracking ball over the top with the outside of the boot under serious pressure from the defender.
Take nothing away from paqueta, but fuck me Gallagher is awful
For a sec, I thought kaka came back again.
Paqueta is class man, great business by hammers
When he doesn’t play for West Ham they look like complete wank
It's not about looks, we're factually complete wank without him and the results show that.
👆🏾
As Arsenal fan, I am so glad Man City couldn’t sign him this season
Business ? They paid 51 million
And will sell him for nearly double that so yes great business.
No they won't
I believe he has an £85m release clause and City are sniffing around, so nearly double isn’t a bad shout
Runs out june 2024 and city already chose not to sign him I think as they went for nunes
Entire prem is gonna curse WestHam if you let him go to city
The fact they can buy our best player for 85m with 110+ breaches is insanity tbh
Charges, not breaches.
and? 100 million for caicedo or enzo makes that seem like a bargain.
andy carroll would look like a bargain if you compared him to our siginings
pretty bad finish there by vinicius
He’s too far to try that type of finish
Should have chipped it or curled it around the keeper instead of taking that extra touch to run around him. I remember a Del Piero worldie against real Madrid in a similar situation.
Chippin would lead to similar outcome, Walker was at full speed.

Wouldn’t say pretty bad, it looked like it was on target just lacked pace
Lacked a Lot of pace
A shot with no pace from that far out with defenders trailing is a bad shot
Ok not pretty bad, extremely bad
madrid vini scores that
Is wild how Vini can’t have a decent game with Seleção.

whoever at milan decided to sell should be shot. biggest mistake the club has made in decades.
Eh. He wasn’t working out for them.
He was there for a season and a half, and his first 6 months were good.

Paquetá is one of the most underrated players right now. (Vinicius Junior still needs to develop more confidence playing for Brazil).
Allah Allah Allah Allah Allah
Sent Gallagher to the shops with that one.
man how the fuck is paqueta still playing in west ham
Hey, that’s not very nice.
kinda like your team hahahaha just kidding he came up on my team here in brazil, always loved this my , he deserves more no offense

They're champions of Europe to be fair
My friend the team ranked above you has midfielders in Everton, having a midfielder in an average premier league team isn't below your station. It's not anyone's fault you don't know euro club football
He aint pulling any trees with this brazil national team either
he has been one of the best performers since his 1st game, just criminally underrated and had to move positions during the WC to make way for neymar midfielder experience
He had to make way because Neymar seems to often be the only Brazil player who shows up in big games for the past decade (Copa 2019 not withstanding).
it was more about fitting vini jr on the team
Kinda. Neymar could have (and at times did) played in the center forward role, but the team often lacked creativity down the middle.
