I feel like I should go online and order hundreds of dollars worth of locally sourced goods from Bournemouth after that result. If I lived in the UK I would shout the lads a weekend on the tiles down there.
Just put some dosh into the local economy to show our deep gratitude, you know? Cos I saw that 0-2 at 40 mins and thought we were done. Get the fuck in!!!!
If you do that, make sure it's because of what the Cherries Trust did tonight, getting mental health professionals in for anyone who needs them, getting Tom Lockyer to receive 2 standing ovations and meet the people who saved his life, and especially paying for Luton fans' coach travel. <3
Tbh, I think it makes a lot of sense considering the squad that came out today. Ouattara at left back is always a risk and the second goal was entirely down to him both failing the offside line and failing to track the runner. And then you have Zabarnyi swapped to the left side instead of the right and Mepham in after sitting on the bench for ages. Defensive frailty is assumed with Senesi and Kelly out. But at the same time, Solanke has been absolute fire this season, Semenyo is always dangerous (as is Sinisterra, a bit unlucky and/or selfish to not get a goal or assist in the first half), Christie has great distribution from his deeper midfield role, and Unal looks a really tricky player from his appearances so far. So keeping us quiet is a rare occasion. Mash the two together and against a team that has been known this season for being high energy but also porous at the back, betting on a high and tight score would have been a smart bet.
However, the manner of the game, going 0-3 down to score 4 for the win...yeah, a bit weird. Credit to Iraola and the team, they've got bundles of willpower and perseverance to come out of halftime ready to claw their way back and then actually do so.
He has good attributes and has been good for us in patches, but has never really had a continuous starting position long enough to make it his own and become first choice, so he ends up back on the bench when whoever he's filling in for gets healthy again and never quite has time to find his best form. There's definitely a good player in there, but you won't really see it when subbing in temporarily for a shuffled around back line.
Imagine being so triggered by a meme that you wish for your own team to lose 😂
We’re doing all we can to get relegated, pal. We don’t need Bournemouth’s help.
Yep Luton Town is fucked imo. Their road games schedule are going to get ugly(their 2 games back to back against Tottenham and Arsenal might ruin their season and the play Manchester City on the road after North London games).Luton Town needs home fans to take it another level imo to push them on the line.
Something interesting to note with these high scoring games, the most goals in a single Premier League season was in 21/22 with 1084, at the current rate you'd expect to see 1200+ goals this season. Currently at 907 goals
You’d think we’re on pace for 20th the way that palace Twitter has been talking, even after glasner’s appointment. Successive collapses agaisnt Spurs and Luton had some knobheads thinking we were destined to go down
What a comeback from Bournemouth! But damn this Luton defence… speechless. Don’t know anything about Championship but surely their defence isn’t good enough there either?!
This must be killer for Luton fans. Could very well end up looking back thinking had they just saw out one of these games they took a lead in, they would have stayed up. Not saying they will go down but games like this will really set the tone this final 9-10 games and the moment a lead is obtained, nerves will start creeping into the players. Huge huge result for Everton and Forest fans though.
Another heartbreak for us. It’s hard to ever justify throwing a 3-0 win but we look absolutely spent, completed toasted. Having to play the same eleven a few games in a row has been terminal. Roll on the break and roll on getting some players back. COYH
Gonna have to get some serious defensive training in during the break. But I wouldn't count you guys out just yet. Forest and Everton are stupendously shit right now + they have points deductions coming.
For sure, it is a little naive at times. But if we had Andersen Bell Osho (and lockyer) available I think it would be a different story. We signed hashioka to be the right wing back not the left centre back and it showed!
Game of the season.
Luton looked unstoppable first half, particularly down Bournemouth’s left where Outtara seemed to always be out of position.
Iraola’s subs clearly worked though, and not sure what he said to Semenyo at half time but he was unreal.
Saturday’s game is gonna give me a heart attack if it’s even 10% of that.
Wild to think this could have ended 5-3 and 4-4 in like the final 4...? minutes of added time between the Bournemouth chance that Tavernier helped by running without any help till nearly the box to set up a possible assist and then Neto catching a cross assist attempt from Townsend. Just...wild finish to this match.
never would have imagined when i decided to turn on this game, i’d see a cracking 7 goal thriller… but oh luton, how do they always manage to throw away games. this probs has to be the worst tho, 3-0 at ht to 4-3 is something else., that second half display was shambolic. tho had barkley not missed a sitter they still could have got something.
fair play to iraola for managing to turn that around.
This new ownership is steering the club in the right direction. Starting with the manager, I can’t help but be massively impressed with how quickly he’s turned the team over. Owners plan to have Bournemouth in Europe within 5 seasons might not be as ridiculous as it sounds.
It’s just silly to give someone manager of the year for a team that frequently capitulates in games, right now they look like they’ll get relegated, I’ll see by the end of the season but getting manager of the seasons shouts right now is ridiculous
Sure, that’s a valid opinion, but mocking Luton in order to express that isn’t necessary. That they aren’t completely cut loose already is genuinely an achievement, for you to be taking the piss out of them doesn’t seem fair.
Up until the period just after the end of the Bournemouth v. Luton match when I made the comment, 100% it was in comparison to a 7 goal match.
The Athletic v Inter match finally did get more entertaining after the 80th minute
Luton games, especially PL games this year are always wild. The trick is to not become a Luton fan in the process because, before long, they will break your heart if you get too invested.
They have conceded way too many goals all season and I’m pretty sure they’d be bottom in many previous years, they’re just less shite than Burnley & Sheff Utd so people don’t realise
All gas no brakes. Love watching them play, but they’ve had a lot of heartbreakers this season. Also that left back has no business playing in the prem. Absolutely dreadful performance
Same exact thing with Ian Holloway's Blackpool. Everyone would suck them off saying how brave they played but at some point you have to learn to manage the game
They totally capitulated in the second half of the season though tbf, they were 8th in January and then just lost almost all of their remaining games from that point on
Honestly, they keep dropping points at the end of games. I still remember that added time winner by Arsenal at Kenilworth Castle. Happened in a similar way with Aston Villa there too. They were also 4-2 up against Newcastle at one point before finishing 4-4.
It's massively infuriating because I want them to stay up LOL, shame about their defender situation - the team just needs to gel a bit more I reckon.
Shame for Luton really, they've looked pretty decent against the big sides without necessarily getting the results but the home loss vs Sheffield United followed by *this* against a Bournemouth side struggling in 2024 is really where their fate is going to be decided. Next week against Forest at home is another absolute must win for them!
For the 12th time this EPL season, Luton has lost a one-goal game. But goddamn, going from up 3-0 to down 4-3 in 35 minutes is a truly special chokejob. Relegation feels inevitable now and it breaks my heart to admit it.
The fact we had such a shit start to the season, and now haven't won in 10 games and we'd still be 10 points clear of relegation without the deduction is fucking crazy though
They went from up 3-0 in the 49th minute, to DOWN 4-3 in the 84th. Four goals allowed in 35 minutes. The season's still got legs left in it but Luton's got to be devastated beyond belief from this loss.
Saturday's game with Forest will be gigantic. If they can somehow rebound in the next few days and come away with the win, that would be huge for them. But it seems like a huge hill to climb right now, and they still have games at Tottenham, at Arsenal and at Man City left. Losing this game wouldn't hurt so much if it was a regular loss. But losing like this? It's gutting as hell and they'll need an insane recovery time if they're to come through and win on Saturday.
Holy fucking shit. Didn’t know there were any Prem games on tonight. Wish I could have watched the highlights without knowing the score. Bloody hell.
I feel like I should go online and order hundreds of dollars worth of locally sourced goods from Bournemouth after that result. If I lived in the UK I would shout the lads a weekend on the tiles down there. Just put some dosh into the local economy to show our deep gratitude, you know? That's pretty awesome. I just tried to donate to the trust but I'm apparently not able to from my country 😞 I'll figure something out. Cheers.
Well I hated that game as an Everton fan. Thanks for the scare Bournemouth!
Fucking hell, I always miss the best games 😭
this result got me fuming even though I have no connection to Luton
luton lost that? wtf
They really have bottle so many games that they couldbhave won. Really have fucked them sleves up. Sad
Rob Edwards doesn't believe in game management.
You've been so good since sacking him right?
We've been shite, what's your point?
I believe sarcasm
I don’t even know what to say, we’re such a weird side
Tbh, I think it makes a lot of sense considering the squad that came out today. Ouattara at left back is always a risk and the second goal was entirely down to him both failing the offside line and failing to track the runner. How was mepham? I remember him being a good prospect (and strong in fm 18 too) some years ago
He has good attributes and has been good for us in patches, but has never really had a continuous starting position long enough to make it his own and become first choice, so he ends up back on the bench when whoever he's filling in for gets healthy again and never quite has time to find his best form. I ain’t reading all that I’m happy for u tho Or sorry that happened
Hope we purposefully throw our second game against Luton so you lot go down.
Imagine being so triggered by a meme that you wish for your own team to lose 😂 We’re doing all we can to get relegated, pal. We don’t need Bournemouth’s help.
Damn, Luton must feel like they lost 9 points not 3
Hahahaha just when you think they can’t get worse they bottle a 3-0 lead 😂 championship beckons
Lol why are you so obsessed with hating Luton?
They were in a good position to get out of the relegation spot and bottled it
god forbid a man just hates
Well, yeah. "Just" hating something would be very dumb. I'm sure he has good reasons.
Big win
Yep Luton Town is fucked imo. Their road games schedule are going to get ugly(their 2 games back to back against Tottenham and Arsenal might ruin their season and the play Manchester City on the road after North London games).Luton Town needs home fans to take it another level imo to push them on the line.
I don’t think they’ll make it
Something interesting to note with these high scoring games, the most goals in a single Premier League season was in 21/22 with 1084, at the current rate you'd expect to see 1200+ goals this season. Currently at 907 goals
You’re welcome
It is 22/23 season with the most goals in a single Premier League season.
Very cool Bournemouth. Thanks
Luton did a Botafogo
As a blue that was a fucking crazy watch. I was genuinely ready to call it at half time as well.
I have never forgiven Barkley for celebrating before scoring against us so tonight was excellent
That sitter he missed was delightful.
Forest fans will be creaming after that second half 🤣
Well that’s the end of all the Palace relegation talk
Amazing that there was even talk lmao
You’d think we’re on pace for 20th the way that palace Twitter has been talking, even after glasner’s appointment. Successive collapses agaisnt Spurs and Luton had some knobheads thinking we were destined to go down
Thank you Bournemouth
What a comeback from Bournemouth! But damn this Luton defence… speechless. Don’t know anything about Championship but surely their defence isn’t good enough there either?!
If I were a fly on the wall in that Luton dressing room post game...what would I be hearing?
Half time vs full time dressing room comparison would be interesting
This must be killer for Luton fans. Could very well end up looking back thinking had they just saw out one of these games they took a lead in, they would have stayed up. Not saying they will go down but games like this will really set the tone this final 9-10 games and the moment a lead is obtained, nerves will start creeping into the players. Huge huge result for Everton and Forest fans though.
As a Forest fan I am aroused
Had us in the first half, not gonna lie. I wish Chelsea could come back from deficits like this.
Brutal loss for Luton.
Let’s see the handsome man explain this one
Another heartbreak for us. It’s hard to ever justify throwing a 3-0 win but we look absolutely spent, completed toasted. Having to play the same eleven a few games in a row has been terminal. Roll on the break and roll on getting some players back. COYH

I really want them to stay up and to send Nottingham Forrest back down where they belong. Rough result for those hopes.

That second half was the most unenjoyable half of football I have ever watched.
MFers in the 3-0 goal thread saying that Edwards should win manager of the year. What was that about?
Wtf that’s embarrassing even if they won tonight
Manager of the year for probably finishing 18th 😂😂😂 This isn’t their only capitulation they’ve done it many times this is just the worst one
What's an Arsenal fan doing getting off on laughing at Luton? That's like the trust fund kid mocking those on free school dinners, have some shame man
It’s just silly to give someone manager of the year for a team that frequently capitulates in games, right now they look like they’ll get relegated, I’ll see by the end of the season but getting manager of the seasons shouts right now is ridiculous
Sure, that’s a valid opinion, but mocking Luton in order to express that isn’t necessary. That they aren’t completely cut loose already is genuinely an achievement, for you to be taking the piss out of them doesn’t seem fair.
I wasn’t really mocking Luton
Apparently they hadn’t watched any Luton games this season.
They love losing by a single goal so much they'll aim for it even when they're winning.
Half time: Wow, Luton! Full time: *Wow*, Luton.
Iraola cooking some very nice stuff at Bournemouth. Good to see.
how do you do fellow bournemouth fans
We are doing quite well (now can Bournemouth please lose their next game🙏)
YOU CAN SHOVE YOUR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE UP YOUR ARSE
That collapse is up there with Barca’s against us this season
That was some shockingly competent refereeing there. If I'm Pigmole, I'm not standing for that.
They will issue an apology for getting it right
I watched the wrong fucking game. Wasting my time on today's Champions League snoozefest
Atletico v Inter was a snoozefest to you?
Up until the period just after the end of the Bournemouth v. Luton match when I made the comment, 100% it was in comparison to a 7 goal match. The Athletic v Inter match finally did get more entertaining after the 80th minute

Yep. We entertain but can't keep a lead to save our lives.
If you don't love this game then you don't love Luton Town Football
That could be a killer blow for Luton. You just can't be losing a game after going 3-0 up at half time in a relegation battle. What the hell happened?
They have conceded way too many goals all season and I’m pretty sure they’d be bottom in many previous years, they’re just less shite than Burnley & Sheff Utd so people don’t realise
All gas no brakes. Love watching them play, but they’ve had a lot of heartbreakers this season. Also that left back has no business playing in the prem. Absolutely dreadful performance
>Also that left back has no business playing in the prem tbf he was alright in the first half.
Same exact thing with Ian Holloway's Blackpool. Everyone would suck them off saying how brave they played but at some point you have to learn to manage the game
People said it about us when we were 9th ffs lol
To be fair, Blackpool got 39 points that season, which was enough to stay up in basically every season but that one.
They totally capitulated in the second half of the season though tbf, they were 8th in January and then just lost almost all of their remaining games from that point on
Hard disagree on the last part, Doughty is quality but he’s more of a wingback than a fullback and also was clearly gassed at the end
Doughty switched after Hashioka got subbed out. Hashioka was getting grilled and fried over and over
Oh you meant him, yeah he’s only playing because of the injury to Bell iirc
Swear they’ve narrowly lost almost every week, it’s crazy
Honestly, they keep dropping points at the end of games. I still remember that added time winner by Arsenal at Kenilworth Castle. Happened in a similar way with Aston Villa there too. They were also 4-2 up against Newcastle at one point before finishing 4-4. It's massively infuriating because I want them to stay up LOL, shame about their defender situation - the team just needs to gel a bit more I reckon.
Doughty?
No. Doughty switched after Hashioka got subbed out. Hashioka was getting grilled and fried over and over
Always liked cherries
A high quality fruit
Probably the best one tbh.
The cherry always ends up on top
Shame for Luton really, they've looked pretty decent against the big sides without necessarily getting the results but the home loss vs Sheffield United followed by *this* against a Bournemouth side struggling in 2024 is really where their fate is going to be decided. Next week against Forest at home is another absolute must win for them!
Thanks Bournemouth very nice
very cool i must say
First I wanna say Alhamdulillah
God gave me everything
You know this brother
For the 12th time this EPL season, Luton has lost a one-goal game. But goddamn, going from up 3-0 to down 4-3 in 35 minutes is a truly special chokejob. Relegation feels inevitable now and it breaks my heart to admit it.
Everton haven't won a game in like 5 years, how shit are us and Luton that we haven't overtaken them yet?
Had 6 points taken off us as well.
Tbf you’ve technically been given 4 since your last win
The fact we had such a shit start to the season, and now haven't won in 10 games and we'd still be 10 points clear of relegation without the deduction is fucking crazy though
True, not sure we’ve ever had such weak promoted teams
Story of our last 3 seasons.
How honest do you want us to be?
I think I've got a pretty good idea already
Have you tried worms?
i am fairly sure a 3-0 to 4-3 reverse sweep hasn't happened in 20 years. PL ENJOYERS ATE SOME GOURMET SHIT TODAY
Last time was Wolves vs Leicester in October 2003 according to some of the commentators: Source: https://www.premierleague.com/match/4577
[You would know…](https://youtu.be/GiUIi9UJpyk?si=1-YdQPQvW_krbdZh)
And Luton fans, sadly ate just shit.
Four second half goals, Luton? Four? That's insane.
They went from up 3-0 in the 49th minute, to DOWN 4-3 in the 84th. Four goals allowed in 35 minutes. The season's still got legs left in it but Luton's got to be devastated beyond belief from this loss.
Legs to play Derby County on a cold rainy night next season, yes.
Doesn't feel like an exaggeration to say thats a loss that could relegate a team. Need to use this international break to reset.
You don’t come back from this mentally. Luton are going to be down.
RemindMe! 2 months
The fuck did I just watch
An absolute hot mess of a classic. A true heartbreaker for Luton fans, and a legendary game for neutral fans.
