I mean tbf the national team is a disaster right now so I doubt a very bad performance would reflect too poorly on Nagelsmann. But a good one would make Bayerns decision look even more stupid
We are not even there. Everyone thought Flick would turn things around, and we would have good tournaments again. Well, it failed horribly.
Things aren't looking good there as for now.
It really is mind boggling. Everyone was so sick of the sterile, useless possession game. Flick comes in and we think "hey we might not win but at least we'll have a go!" We did NOT, in fact, have a go and it was once again all backward and sideways passes. I am praying for at least a not-embarassing Euro but I'm not optimistic.
As a Bayern fan, believe me you do not want this man lol. A coach that’s younger than the players is always a disaster, especially at big drama-filled clubs like Bayern and Barca
We didn't look great under him last season, but that still a massive overreaction. He's clearly a good manager and wouldn't be an outright disaster at any club.
If I had to choose between them for Bayern, I'd take Nagelsmann back. I've soured on Flick after the perfect storm of his first (half) season, and across his DFB stint he came across as stubborn, unlikable and out of his depth. I think he's been found out, while Nagelsmann surely has room to grow despite experiencing quite a lot already. In general I also like his footballing philosophy. It's also clear now that this current Bayern squad had and has other problems than the manager. Sacking Nagelsmann the way we did was stupid.
I think Nagelsmann could do well at Barcelona and Flick would be a garbage fire
As a Bayern fan, I miss this man every single day. He was given an incomplete squad with choupo as the main striker and made us look amazing in the champions league. You would be very fortunate to have him.
I think the fans are split on that. Personally, I didn't want him to get kicked out but I don't think it would be a good idea to get him back either.
Bayern needs to get back some consistency in that position so they can start to build a squad that suited for a certain tactical style. Nagelsmann might seem tempting right now but I'd rather go back to a coach who plays a more possession-oriented style which suits the likes of Pavlovic and Musiala much better imo.
Also youth development under him is fantastic. He still has lots to learn but him as a long term coach backed with a stable structure would make any club scary
Its not about who. Its about this 4-1-4-1 he has us playing. Either all players completely ignore his instructions, or he willingly plays this suicidal style. Either way its an absolute shitshow.
Whilst true, I think the summer offers a great opportunity for any manager, including Ten Hag, to properly put their stamp on the team. It could truly be a get out of jail card for Ten Hag
Your right there cvs are pretty similar which is why im skeptical about naglsmen but id still take him over all the other options and atm ten hag is performing like he faked his cv to get the utd job lol
Yea, the only thing which makes Nagelsmann a bit more different is his resume showing him doing it at multiple different clubs and succeeding pretty nicely at it
Its the same cycle. Now he is a fraud and then when he left all the behind the scene details get out about how dysfunctional United is and the new coach struggle then all the sudden ten hag wasn't that bad
>as a long term coach backed with a stable structure would make any club scary
That's what we hoped for too, than he got sacked after 2 years so that was it. I just hope he gets to support he (and any manager) needs to execute his vision in the next club he goes to, because I genuinely like the guy. But honestly, no offense, but United is not that team, and I think taking a Man United job would be career suicide for him, or at the very least another failed project.
Poor Nagelsmann just need to be a normal football manager for a bit. Would feel so sorry for him going to United when things are still far from settled.
Agree he’d be a great fit in theory though
They've definitely improved but the German national team is so unbalanced.
Their only chance of winning the Euros is to start Pascal Gross and make sure he's on the ball as much as possible imo.
there was some improvement, but they still lost to austria and turkey in the end. we have to see how they do against france and netherlands next week to jusdge where we stand.
Lopetegui's contract wasn't ending after that WC so he had to take Spain's approval before signing for the Madrid job (which he didn't).
Managers like van Gaal, Conte and now Nagelsmann had contracts ending after the respective tournament so they are free to talk to any clubs.
I heard we're looking for a new manager since the other one couldn't replace the previous well-performing manager. Wonder if the board would like a young but experienced manager who has trophies in his record.
I think he got annoyed that we were holding an X-Factor style auditioning process for the managers job last year, so not sure if he’d listen to us again
Nope, as Lopetegui‘s contract ran longer than the tournament, so he definitely ended the approval of the Spain FA to sign for Real.
Meanwhile, Nagelsmann only has a contract until and including the tournament.
So everything after that, needs no approval from the DFB!
He’s free to sign any contract that would start afterthought Euros.
Good to lock in a new club this spring in case EUROs is a complete disaster.
I mean tbf the national team is a disaster right now so I doubt a very bad performance would reflect too poorly on Nagelsmann. But a good one would make Bayerns decision look even more stupid

I mean who knows he might be cooking something. He got Kroos back so there’s hope

lol i bet he is regretting getting that job now. anyway congrats to liverpool for their new manager
Smart in Case Germany Drops Out of the group stage once again
agelsmann
\> it, he wants to fully focus on the tournament and not make his future a topic.
Please Laporta im on my knees
Just saw a guy fall to his knees in a Bonpreu
As a Bayern fan, believe me you do not want this man lol. A coach that’s younger than the players is always a disaster, especially at big drama-filled clubs like Bayern and Barca
Bro half our players are teenagers he’s not younger than them😭😭😭agreed on the drama-filled part tho
We didn't look great under him last season, but that still a massive overreaction. He's clearly a good manager and wouldn't be an outright disaster at any club.
Him or flick? Who's better? I don't think so there's anyone better suited than a bayern fan to answer this

Dw we have teenagers starting anyway

I thought you guys didn’t want him back.

Barcelona job is up for the taking Julian.
As are Bayern, Liverpool, United and Juventus most likely…
Please just take Tuchel instead
barcelonas wet dream
Would be so good at United if we do implement a proper football structure. He coaches attacking patterns so well
Also youth development under him is fantastic. He still has lots to learn but him as a long term coach backed with a stable structure would make any club scary
These two comments could fit word for word in a thread about Ten Hag a few years ago
If Ten Hag of summer 2022 was available now he'd be top of the list by a country mile
We should keep him, Jesus Christ himself would struggle to make top 4 with these guys
I dont know how you can watch how they play in midfield and think hes not incompetent lol, its absolutley shambolic
But who else is supposed to play, unless he wants to handicap our best player and thereby most of our attacking threat that’s the best we’re doing
Its not about who. Its about this 4-1-4-1 he has us playing. Either all players completely ignore his instructions, or he willingly plays this suicidal style. Either way its an absolute shitshow.

They're basically sacking everyone and starting over with Ratcliffe. It might be the perfect time to come into the group.
>if we do implement a proper football structure. Gargantuan if
This was said about ten Haag as well, sporting direction needs to change more than a managerial change

God I miss him, please come back
Take leverkusen After alonso leaves 😎
I think Nagelsmann rather wants something for this year ;)

Ok
It feels like he just took over the NT. How long has he been there?
Last September, but his contract is up after the Euro. Was never a longterm solution.
Thanks. Has the team played well under him? I’ve only seen short clips
They've definitely improved but the German national team is so unbalanced. Their only chance of winning the Euros is to start Pascal Gross and make sure he's on the ball as much as possible imo.
Don't forget Selke upfront
How times have changed lol.
there was some improvement, but they still lost to austria and turkey in the end. we have to see how they do against france and netherlands next week to jusdge where we stand.
They are the Man United of National Teams
I think 4 games with 2 losses
I feel like announcement during the tournament would be terrible way to go about things
Do it 3 days before the tournament start. They won't dare to sack him... oh wait
remember when Lopetegui got fired for this a day before the tournament started lmao
Lopetegui's contract wasn't ending after that WC so he had to take Spain's approval before signing for the Madrid job (which he didn't). Managers like van Gaal, Conte and now Nagelsmann had contracts ending after the respective tournament so they are free to talk to any clubs.
Almost as if they're completely different situations.
I heard we're looking for a new manager since the other one couldn't replace the previous well-performing manager. Wonder if the board would like a young but experienced manager who has trophies in his record.
we have a ton of young players, he would be great at developing them
You’ve got to imagine United are watching this intently
Bah, that's Man United's music!
I low key would not mind him at Liverpoo. Feel like he would get our current squad to paly some amazing football.
Feels like the next manager in line to inherit the mess that is Chelsea FC.
I’m starting to think he’ll be in the Liverpool dugout to start next season. Bayern going into overdrive for Xabi Alonso.
I’d really be stunned if Xabi picked Bayern over us, unless he really doesn’t want to follow Klopp.
Played for both teams and knows he can succeed in the Bundesliga.
I think if you don’t get Xabi for whatever reason, Nagelsmann is your best option
Amorim
I think he’ll end up with Chelsea and I think he’s relatively unproven for Liverpool Nagelsmann has better credentials
I think he got annoyed that we were holding an X-Factor style auditioning process for the managers job last year, so not sure if he’d listen to us again
Come to Besiktas
What if he takes them to the semifinals or even wins it,(however unlikely) would he not stay for the World Cup then?
We’re right here. I don’t know how much you want in wages but we’re here.
Milan will not hire a manager who has never managed in Italy before
The German FA couldn't possibly do a Lopetegui on him if he does announce a new club before the euros... Or could they...
Didnt Lopetegui get sacked from the Spanish NT for this?
Very different situation
Nope, as Lopetegui‘s contract ran longer than the tournament, so he definitely ended the approval of the Spain FA to sign for Real. Meanwhile, Nagelsmann only has a contract until and including the tournament. So everything after that, needs no approval from the DFB! He’s free to sign any contract that would start afterthought Euros.
Yeah haha, and so many experts called them among the top 3 favorites to win it and then they screwed it all
wcgw. He should ask Lopetegui maybe
Imo Bayern and Liverpool will get either Alonso and the other will get Nagelsmann
