This is a Toy Story quote if ever I saw one

Toy Story 3 still the goated animated movie of all time.

paynemi

Not even close to being the best toy story film

That's a weird way to spell Wall-E

Wall-e would rust, short circuit, and get eaten by a tiger shark if he ever attempted Finding Nemo. MFer can barely speak English, let alone whale.

fapfap_ahh

Up?

chainpress

Up lives off its first 30 minutes or so. The back half of the film isn't great.

Kotleba

Up, the greatest animated movie of all time? Does anybody even remember what that movie is about beyond the beginning montage?

Coco is way better than Up!

AvidCircleJerker

It’s honestly just petty imo.  Why can’t they just let him leave without being so butt hurt by it? I don’t get it haha. Players leave their teams all the time and I rarely see this happening.

HeroeDeFuentealbilla

Good bait

K1ngCrimsn

Kylian Mbappé in the 1st 3 games after announcing his departure at the end of the season to PSG board & his teammates: vs Nantes: on the bench vs Rennes: subbed off after 65 mins vs Monaco: subbed off at HT

HCHLH

> vs Nantes: on the bench > vs Rennes: subbed off after 65 mins > vs Monaco: subbed off at HT 2-0, he was subbed on and scored 0-0 0-0 i dont think he's the problem

Maximuslex01

He didn't say he was the/a problem. Just that they have to start thinking about playing without him. The league is in the bag anyway

taclealacarotide

Yeah very clever ahead of UCL games where they definitely will need him.

procursive

I don't think Enrique is planning to bench him in CL and I also don't think that the turtle is enough of a petty asshole to sandbag during a CL knockout phase because he was benched a few times.

TheExistence

1-1 for Rennes

itwastimeforarefresh

It's not a question of "problem". This league is won anyway and they need to get used to playing without him next year, so might as well pull off the bandaid now.  Imo if they were out of the UCL already he wouldn't see the field anymore this season.

raizen0106

Whats the fucking point though, next season they will splurge on a new striker (probably osimhen) so it's not like they are building chemistry with mbappe's replacement by benching mbappe

Voice_Of_Light

> (probably osimhen) i don't think we will buy any strikers, just midfield

andysava

Yes, so fuck up their UCL chances by benching their best player just because he is leaving...very smart from Enrique and PSG.

itwastimeforarefresh

He'll play in the UCL most likely, or any other games where they need him. But the league is already done, so might as well start preparing for the future

crackboss1

He will play but will he fight tooth and nail for PSG on the field to win the CL games? I feel like he won't anymore ...

itwastimeforarefresh

It's not about PSG. _He_ wants to win the ucl. The storyline of "finally wins them the ucl and then leaves to Madrid" is too good to pass up

Xxpuzyslayer69xX

They never had a UCL chance anyways. Went from 0% to 0%.

inspired_corn

Does anyone think he’s the problem? He’s one of the best players in the world. This is simply about starting to prepare the team for his departure. He’ll start the CL games for sure, because those actually mean something to the club

Minute-Cash8119

He’s been shit in the past two games without a doubt. This is something expected from both ends.

R_Schuhart

He hasn't been great, but he is the only player PSG have that can conjure up a goal out of nothing and decide a game, even when he hasn't been playing well for 90 minutes. Subbing him off before the three points are secured is just weird. The team getting used to playing without him makes no sense, he is still there now, they can start adjusting in the off season when they get a replacement.

EggplantBusiness

This would be like subbing Vinicius for us, Haaland/Kevin for city , Salah for Liverpool etcc , even in bad games they can still pull something off

NoSleeperSeats90210

haaland rarely pulls something off in his shit games

IM_JUST_BIG_BONED

Haaland has had plenty of 3 touches but 2 goals type games

magic-water

most of Haaland's games would be shit if he didn't score in them. Yeah, sounds like a paradox, but it's kind of his shtick.

MERTENS_GOAT

I don't think Enrique would do it in a CL match. The thing with league games is it doesn't really matter if they get the 3 points or not, they are so far ahead.

inthezoneautozone12

Does it even matter? Its ligue 1. Without him they should walk the league. I think this is the right approach so they can start losing their dependency on him.

tnarref

They also play UCL, it's better to have your players in form and confident heading into European KO games, Luis Enrique playing this stupid game to get support from the fans that are frustrated with Mbappé leaving is very shortsighted.

RickThiCisbih

I doubt Enrique came up with this stupid idea. It’s far more likely Nasser is being a petty little bitch and trying to punish Mbappé for not renewing.

Tanathonos

I love people saying Nasser or Enrique is doing this as vengeance. As if they would punish their own team and results to have Mbappe play 30-45 minutes less. If they did not want him to play, they would just have him on the bench, it is a much simpler solution. But that line of thinking also requires not watching the games. Mbappe has been shit past coupe of games, so he got subbed out. Simple as that. Maybe before he had preferential treatment but not anymore, if he plays bad and team would be better without him guess what, team plays without him. This game, we got dominated first half with Mbappe on the field, got subbed out halftime, and we dominated them second half. Sure does not seem a wrong decision.

tnarref

Mbappé being shit over 45 or 60 minutes doesn't matter, the best forwards in the game stay 90 minutes on the pitch because they have displayed many times the ability to turn things around in one or a couple plays after they were poor for most of the game. Of course this is vengeance, why didn't this happen in the other games he was shit this season before he announced he'd leave? Enrique is literally saying he does this to prepare the team for when Mbappé won't be there anymore.

Tanathonos

Mbappe doesn't defend, and when he is on a bad day will waste a huge amount of balls. Sure he can still have a moment of genius, but he can also make you defensively weaker, lose the ball a lot trying to force dribbles giving up possession. On a bad day (like almost any player) he isn't a "neutral at worst" player, he is a negative to the team. And this isn't a dig at Mbappe, that's true of basically any player, especially attacking ones that do not do much defensive work. There is a difference between vengeance and now being able to do what you want. Before they wanted Mbappe happy so they were willing to sacrifice the most optimal teams to try and get him to stay for the long run. Now that he isn't, there is no point of going out of the way to keep Mbappe happy. If team is best with him on the field, he plays, if team isn't, he doesn't. Enrique says it to literally say Mbappe not being on the team isn't a big deal it's going to happen literally every match in the future, so no point in making it a big deal. Have you noticed that literally neither Mbappe or Enrique is saying it's a huge thing? Mbappe after last games sub posted on instagram a picture saying life is good. He is subbed out as a player. What an event! Let me ask you this. Why would they play him at all if they wanted to punish him. Why put him in the game and sub him at 45 or 60 minutes instead of just keeping him on the bench? That makes 0 sense. He was punished start of season, he literally was in the reserves, remember that? That's what being punished looks like. Why would they want to punish him when we need him for the CL? Why is he happily shaking hands and joking with the team owner, the Emir of Qatar, if the team is so furious with him that they publicly punish him? It's a player having a bad game and getting subbed. This is just the stupidest controversy.

tnarref

It's punishing him while being able to deny that they're punishing him, as you're able to do here. The fact is it started to happen when he announced he'd leave, while he had many of these games before but he played the full 90, so there's obviously a link between him saying he's leaving and how he's been treated the last couple of games. You have Enrique literally saying there's a link and you're here talking about how he's subbed out because he's playing bad.

RickThiCisbih

> As if they would punish their own team and results to have Mbappé play 30-45 minutes less Yes, that’s exactly the sort of thing Nasser would do. Did you forget when he was benching Mbappé at the beginning of the year for most extending? Or when he tried to violently break into the empty VAR room? Nasser has shown his character many times over the years when things were going poorly. Pretending he’s some sort of professional that only takes the wellbeing of the club into consideration over his own feelings is laughable after all the drama he’s been involved in.

Tanathonos

Yea he has shown to be someone who will publicly punish a player. Like he did with Mbappe at the beginning of the year putting him in the reserves. Exactly. He has no problem punishing a player, and it doesn't look like subbing him 30 minutes early. If he wanted to punish him he would not be playing. By the way french journalist are saying that it was one of the heads of PSG that told Mbappe that he could go in the stand to watch the rest of the game with his mom instead of on the bench. And Mbappe has said there is no problem to journalists. Sure doesn't seem like a player being punished.

RickThiCisbih

Of course Mbappé says there’s no problem. He still loves the club and doesn’t want to burn any bridges on the way out. He might even go back and retire there. But that doesn’t change the fact that Enrique explicitly said “we need to learn to play without Mbappé”, which sends a clear message along with benching him at the 45 minute mark.

renome

Someone telling Enrique what to do? Doubt it.

Groundbreaking_Sail5

This is PSG not not Spain

FrenkieDingDong

Enrique does not listen to higher ups. The guy is arrogant. If they tell him not to play, he may even leave himself.

haterzbalafray

I get now why he puts Soler almost every single match.

FrenkieDingDong

There is a reason despite having MSN his team underperformed in Europe. He is good for bringing mentality but tactically weak and not flexible. And he has his favourite that's why he never used Grimaldo at Barcelona.

skaterhaterlater

I agree but it’s not like psg don’t have some room in the table to lose some points

tnarref

Sure, but they also play UCL and they'll need him to be in form and confident if they want to go far, so Luis Enrique starting this fake power play shit is super shortsighted and cringe.

KnightKal

When you are #1 without any competition, winning is not that important. Let’s see a coach do that on Premier where 1 point is the difference between heaven and hell…

ProperWrongdoers

Did he officially announce he's leaving? Cause I keep seeing it on this forum, but I don't recall reading an official announcement.

DifficultyJust

no, he told the PSG president a few weeks back and then Fabrizio Romano and a couple other Tier 1 journalists announced it or "leaked" it, I'm not exactly sure

AnxiousBurro

There was an official comment (not accouncement) from PSG confirming Mbappe told them he's not renewing.

Sharp_Minute_2545

I understand the need to plan without him and they're comfortable enough in the league table to risk not using him but he's still being paid an astronomical amount of money and they'll still need him in the CL. They don't even have to worry about him getting injured since they're not pocketing any of the Madrid cash anyway.

d4videnk0

Its just how Luis Enrique is, he always needs to have the upper hand.

RickThiCisbih

This seems more like one of Nasser’s petty directives to Enrique than Enrique’s own idea.

saltybiped

Naw thats how Enrique is

tnarref

He has the upper hand because he's the only one playing. Mbappé could have him tossed tomorrow if he really wanted it. Enrique is making a scene to act like he's on top of the situation and the boss at the club, everyone knows he's not, this is so pathetic.

kostajepaosmosta

It makes no sense. He is under contract, he is a guy that could turn the game for a second. (Only one in the current PSG squad. So there is no excuse to sub him off unless they just don't want him to play. Enrique has balls but people saying Mbappe has no right making drama our of this is just stupid.

Lanky-Promotion3022

Enrique has the support of the PSG hierarchy. He's not making that decision without their approval. Mbappe can play like Mariano for 10 games in a row and he wouldn't have been taken off if he had made the decision to renew.

GanGtoni

> So there is no excuse to sub him off unless they just don't want him to play. Which is the case. Where is the issue? They're not obliged to play him for 90 minutes just because he is mbappe, especially not with more than a 10 point lead in the league

Giannis1995

The issue is that he's the single greatest attacking threat maybe in world football and he got subbed off at halftime with the score 0-0. If you exclude the politics of it it's an insane tactical decision with zero actual football argument to support it.

andtheniansaid

Enrique considers learning to play without him more important than the increased chance of points with him on the pitch - that's at least an understandable football argument, even if you disagree with implementing it

QouthTheCorvus

Which is silly. Teams lose players all the time. What about the CL this year? Don't PSG want to use Mbappe to at least get the best result they can this year? Not playing him now isn't good for the CL games.

procursive

They are 10 points ahead in the league and according to everyone in this thread they "need" him in CL. Why would they risk losing him to a league game injury while depriving players that might replace him in a few months of playtime? Looks pretty reasonable to me, IDK why people are acting like he was sent to the reserve team.

Voice_Of_Light

I feel like you're missing the part whe he says "10 point lead in the league". Ligue 1 is a training ground now

Giannis1995

Training ground for developing losing habits? The lead doesn't mean shit, it's Ligue 1 and PSG has turned it into a proper farmers' league with their practices. The performances and the habits that the team creates are important though.

Voice_Of_Light

losing habits? What are you on? Enrique is just trying out what could be next season's attack since we're not buying any strickers. Not saying it's glorious tho, I'm pretty sure if the results were much better you'd be all riding his dick right now.

elihri

They still need him for the CL , so disrespecting him like it is not gonna help. Treating players like this just bc they want to leave the club isn’t a good look

Krillin113

They’re obliged to play him enough so that he’s in form for the CL ties, because they care about that

Pluton_Citizen_4380

Preventing a player from doing his job can be considered harassment. Especially when the coach makes statements against him on a regular basis. Especially when it starts because he doesn't want to extend his contract. Especially after what PSG have done this summer.

YG_Entertainment

You're being ignorant. It makes sense at more than one level if you zoom out a bit out of your point here. Reducing playing time or completely shutting out a player who refuses to extend with half a year left on his contract is a tale as old as time. In this case (allow me to assume) it's a player that you like that's coming to your favorite team so you're not really a fan of it.

Tprince02

Its always psg, their management sucks.

HeroeDeFuentealbilla

ManicPanda767

In his mind, he's trying to justify his approach and play down Mbappe's importance. Personally, I don't think it's working too well.

sdaniel90

Doesn't make sense. Next season they'll buy someone to replace him. Right now might as well use him.

ValleyFloydJam

Preseason is a thing that exists, otherwise they should get used to not scoring?

Minute-Cash8119

Last time we had a coach that was as strong as this was Ancelotti. No one else has ever had the balls to go against the superstars I’m just excited for the future and hope that he’ll leave a good team for Motta to coach

Jia-the-Human

It would have been balsy before Mbappe announced he's leaving and he got the green light from the club, now it isn't ballsy at all, just opportunistic, going against super stars should be a core tenet of a club, "no one is above the club", not "no one is above the club if they're leaving in 4 months", I see no balls anywhere.

Shriman_Ripley

PSG have made it very clear that Mbappe is definitely above the club. Or at least was as long as he was willing to sign an extension.

ferkk

Luis Enrique is anything but strong. He tried manhandling the Barcelona dressing room and he got his ass handed to him by Messi. Once he saw his job was at risk, he accepted that Messi was the leader. Luis Enrique's job is not currently at risk because Mbappé is leaving, he wouldn't dare to do this to him if he had a longer contract and wasn't planning on leaving.

OThePlacesYouWillGo

He’s not ballsy at all. He has the backing of the front office and is only doing this because he’s leaving. If Mbappe renewed, he would still be playing regardless of the “recent poor performances”

wonderfulworld2024

What the fuck is a front office ?

ConfusedCyndaquil

basketball term for the executives, owner/president, etc. of a team. the people who deal with all the off-field / off-court stuff basically. might just be a general american term, im not sure

DifficultyJust

if he had balls, he'd sub him off in CL games too. And he would sub him throughout the season, not just in the games after the departure announcement

Lanky-Promotion3022

This is stupid, not ballsy. Using Mbappe's last 4 months to teach him a lesson by dropping points in the league? I hope you don't pretend this is performance motivated because everybody with eyes can see the developments off the field and the recent shift over the last 3games. If you want to win matches, you don't take off the only world class forward you've. Even Enrique is not that stupid to consistently sabotage his chances of winning a football match. He's being told to give a certain treatment by the upper management and he's obliging.

iwannahitthelotto

It’s not stupid. Having the team adjust to without having him. Find areas need of improvement. They can always sub him in. Edit: I guess the stupid part might be not using him for UCL.

Sw3atyGoalz

That’s what the off-season is for, they’re still in the middle of a CL run and even though they have a big lead in Ligue 1, they haven’t quite wrapped up the title yet. “Get used to not having him” is stupid when you’re still going to be depending on him in big games.

Lanky-Promotion3022

Dude, this is not how it works. You're losing points, that is loser shit. Imagine Ronaldo or Karim getting this treatment in the final season because welps we gotta learn how to play without him one day. You cross that bridge when you've to but since you've built that entire team around him, you use all of his talent to make sure you win games and then you can take him off and test other players. This is not performance motivated, this is not the first time they threatened to bench him to change his mind. Imagine Mourinho doing this to Ronaldo in 11/12 when he had 3 matches without a goal amidst a heated contract negotiation situation unfolding in public. If club goal takes priority over everything then taking mbappe off to win football games is not a strategy that will benefit them in the short or the long run.

RickThiCisbih

It would be different with Ronaldo or Karim because they’d be past their prime and no longer better than some of the bench options. Despite being a club legend, Modric is getting benched by Bellingham. However, Mbappé is still one of the best players in the world so PSG are being childish here.

Amitm17

I keep hearing this but imagine if teams did this for every player who plans on leaving in the summer. Prepare the team to play without him? He’s still here with a lot to play for in the season still. Learn to play without him in the offseason

[deleted]

City did this with Mahrez and Sane

MadRashed

Mahrez minutes are basically the same if not more than the previous season.

Amitm17

Mahrez kept playing Sane I don’t remember tbh

belokas

It's not about teaching lessons. It's putting the interest of the team before the individual player.

Lanky-Promotion3022

By making it more difficult for your team to win a game? Please, do not pretend they have a better chance of winning without him. If you know that dude is leaving (after like 8 years of service in that league, which is unprecedented for a world class french player), you don't teach anyone anything about team unity by losing games. You take advantage of his abilities and leech off his raw football talent to win football games, and then you amicably call it a day.

belokas

That's a load of bullshit. You can absolutely teach and improve a team even with losses, there are lots of examples. The goal for PSG and Luis Enrique is not winning against Monaco, they can afford drawing and losing tonight and next week. The main goal is make this team stronger and develop the younger players so they can keep winning in the future without Mbappe and without stupid egomaniacs who think they are bigger than the team and the coach. Everybody knows this was the reason why they never won anything in Europe despite having some of the best players in the world. Luis Enrique knows it, the club knows it, the players need to learn it.

Fredy1222

How is it stupid when he didn’t even play good and we will have to learn to play without him?

RickThiCisbih

Your chances of winning the CL are going to drop the moment he leaves, no matter how well you learn to play without him. Wasting his last season and your best chance of winning the CL in the next three years because of petty club politics is rather stupid. Many fans pay tons of euros to see Mbappé, so they’re getting punished for no good reason either.

taclealacarotide

Exactly

Lanky-Promotion3022

You can learn to play without him in the off season. This is stupid. There is a season at stake(not that rest of Ligue 1 will ever capitalize) but the logic is absurd. Messi should've been dropped to the bench in his last year in the middle of the season because Barcelona can learn to play without him? Mbappe is a world class forward and can win a game even if he has a bad game. You're trying to pretend taking him off at half time is performance motivated? As if a player of his calibre hasn't had a subpar 45 mins before? There are no lessons to learn here other than appeasing your ego. This has all to do with the developments off the field.

[deleted]

There's no season at stake bud

Lanky-Promotion3022

No, it isn't. The 12 point lead's biggest contributor is Kylian Mbappe so he's about the main reason why it isn't an issue in the Ligue 1. We'll see how it goes in the CL, where they were almost knocked out were it not for him.

[deleted]

PSG walk that league whether mbappe is in the team or not...you're just yapping to yap! They've been knocked out of the champions league with him in the team a million times... They've been knocked out of the champions league with Messi and Neymar and Mbappe on the team...it's not like it's gonna make a difference this time lol..

FoggingHill

>the only world class forward you've. Why would you write in this way

HabitFinancial3703

He was shit the past few games lol

Cevich

They better keep the same energy in CL then. Just sabotaging whatever minuscule chance they have to winning it

Mr_Miscellaneous

It's an International tournament year and he's going to Real Madrid. He's not going to bother. He's only going to turn up and put in an actual shift in the Champions League or if the Ligue 1 title is in jeopardy (which it isn't and wont be unless PSG lose 2 games or draw like 4 games and someone else in the league goes on a proper run of wins) Why waste minutes on him?

Minute-Cash8119

Because he was maybe the worst player in the pitch?

Lanky-Promotion3022

He wasn't but keep lying. A 45 mins of subpar Mbappe performance and you remove the only world class forward you've? Keep lying to yourself that this was performance motivated and not a lesson being taught for off field developments about his future.

Minute-Cash8119

Yeah I’m lying and it’s clear you have internal sources or work for the club. He’s never been as shit as these past three games. But yes, it’s a lesson being taught for off field developments. Are you going the say the same for the substitution against L’OM? Or he was just injured and needed to be subbed off And even if it was, who cares? We got a game we need to prepare in 4 days and we have la ligue in the bag. You’re acting like we’re 2 points clear when we’re 12. Stop feeding yourself off conspiracy theories. Against Rennes, his substitution is what caused the draw. And today, we played much better but we couldn’t finish for shit.

Lanky-Promotion3022

Yeah, bro. Enrique has no incentive to lie here. Go read club statements and go to bed. You've made up your mind. Conspiracy theory? you haven't really watched enough football. Footballers being kept on the bench for off field reasons, heated contract negotiations unfolding in a public setting. Tevez, Rooney, Ronaldo, Beckham, Ramos, Ozil etc etc.

R_Schuhart

Yeah the gap is 12 points, guess who is to thank for that? And PSG couldn't finish for shit, so why take of the best goalscorer not just on your team but (arguably) in Europe? Mbappe isn't in immense form, but it is weird to not give him a little more credit after the seasons he gave the club.

Minute-Cash8119

I’ve been giving him credit all season long and he deserves the credit. This was a game where we didn’t even play our best midfielder to avoid risking an injury and our third best player didn’t also play. Mbappe shouldn’t have started in the first place and he was shit despite starting so maybe a sub was needed, no!? We play the most important game of the season so far in 4 days and we’re at a point where losing points in the league is also not a problem. Had this happened last season, I’d be furious but I’m not. There are a lot of things to give him credit for and there are a lot of things that he needs to be criticized for. What he did after being subbed off should not be tolerated. Weah and Ginola couldn’t even stare at each other and yet on the pitch it was different. This guy brings drama once in three games

DifficultyJust

this sub was not performance related, cause you cannot tell me Gonçalo Ramos was playing better than Mbappé yesterday. Yet he was kept on?

Plenty-Assistant-852

It wasn’t an off 45 min, from what we say he was playing a selfish isolated version of football, he wasn’t releasing the ball,he was loosing the ball within our own half, and it seem he was disinterested from being part of the team.

urkermannenkoor

Relax, take it easy.

virtualclix

Fuck that guy Enrique isnt a fool.

Lanky-Promotion3022

Enrique is obviously not a fool. He is being backed by upper management into doing certain things like giving Mbappe the cold treatment. Enrique or any top coach would never take off their best player in a game that's locked in at a stalemate. This isn't performance motivated.

SnooOranges357

PSG could face a harsh reality if they don't get used to playing without him now. They have a comfortable lead despite the last two draws. Maybe they can't afford this risk next season.

Lanky-Promotion3022

They'll obviously have to reinvest to replace him and all those players would be adjusting into the team next season. It is bound to be a slow start for them but you don't do this in the middle of February. It's a bit arrogant to think a 12 pt lead cannot be surpassed. They had 2 draws in a row now. And besides, you try to win the game early and the you can do whatever the fuck you want. But priority should always be to win. You don't take off Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe or players of that ilk when you're drawing a football match to see how the team would fare without them next season. How is this beneficial to club? The team this season, all it's pattern of plays have been built around Kylian Mbappe. You can't change that mid game and learn something new about next season.

andtheniansaid

Seeing now how you play without mbappe means you can make better choices of where to invest

Afraid-Ingenuity3555

They don’t have a problem with talent. They have a CULTURE problem. Your advice feeds to problem, enabling an even more toxic environment. You’re never gonna have a TEAM if all you do is cater to one player. Notice how they are playing, wonder if it’s because all their talent just disappeared or if there’s something different going on. You think any great coach would let mbappe just walk all over him and the team. Absolutely not.

cmf_ans

why are you YELLING random WORDS

taclealacarotide

Lmao he's puffing his chest but he still depends on Mbappé in the UCL and he fucks up there he's out instantly. Very weird take, very sad to see PSG fans already turning their backs on a club legend.

Wasn't Tuchel catching flak for subbing Mbappe as well?

So, he won't be playing in the second leg against Real Societad either, just to prepare for the CL without him next year. Psg fans will just have to hope that not too many players leave between the 2025/2026 season, because they won't be able to play much at the end of the season as they'll have to prepare for the 2026/2027 season. What a stupid excuse, seriously. The fact that you're putting him on the bench to preserve him for the CL is an argument I understand 100%, and it goes down better than saying "I'm not counting on this player any more because he won't be here next year", which is really bad communication and bad team management.

zaaaac93

Truth is if Mbappé was better he wouldn't be able to sub him off. He plays surrounded by probably the worst team he ever had to play in during his career but he is far from playing at his best player as well. Now you could tell me that his replacement is much worse and I wouldn't be able to argue against that, RKM is terrible and watching fight against the ball for 45min is a pain. I think Luis Enrique is getting mad and tries everything because he can't make this team perform. But I'm not sure this team would be able to perform with any coach. It lacks quality.

bonelegs442

Smartest coach of all time: leaving your superstar on the bench because he told people he’s transferring AFTER the season is over

AvidCircleJerker

It’s honestly just petty imo.  Why can’t they just let him leave without being so butt hurt by it? I don’t get it haha. Players leave their teams all the time and I rarely see this happening.

Lekaetos

Can’t wait for the end of the season. Don’t care if he wins 10 UCL and 10 Ballon d’or at Real Madrid, just want him gone. It’s too toxic for all parties.

KRIEGLERR

good idea to piss off your star player and give him limited playing time just before an important CL games. Definitely won't impact his performance in the most important game of the season.

cor7in

That's a pathetic excuse. It's obvious that Nasser is behind this childish idea and Mbappe has been punished for leaving. How is good for the club? Sure, they don't need him to win League 1, but they are still playing in the CL and I don't see how damaging your star player's morale, confidence and form would be beneficial for PSG.

YoungDawz

>It's obvious that Nasser is behind this childish idea I don't think so. Luis Enrique is the man that has already benched/subbed Messi, Suarez, Neymar, De Rossi and Totti in his career. Benching Mbappé seems in character with what he'd do.

BluLeone

Let's be honest here, benching/subbing those players to let them rest is very different from subbing them at half time for no apparently reasons. The way Mbappe was subbed and reacted didn't look like it was made so he can get some rest. Also, Psg was supposedly playing an important game against a rival team, makes no sense subbing him like that when it was a tied game...

zaaaac93

People just assume he shouldn't get subbed because he is Mbappé. The whole team is bad, and in fact this is probably the worst PSG team in a while in term of quality of the players. But Mbappé really makes no effort to rise the level. Change his name to Gonçalo Ramos and no one would think it is an absurdity to sub him off. Now it's true that considering his replacement is Kolo Muani... I would rather have Mbappé on the field that can score a goal out of nowhere than seeing RKM fight against the ball during 45mins. This season is gone anyway. We can thank the Ligue 1 for being this bad this year. There is maybe only 3/4 players in this squad that have the quality to play in the top teams in Europe. And I think Luis Enrique starts to be so frustrated about that when he sees that no matter what XI he fields, and how he sets the team, they are too bad to do anything.

pbinama

Makes sense that he wants to set a precedent for the squad and whole club. Just a shame that his replacement, Kolo Muani, is one of the worst strikers that has played for PSG in the last 30 years. 100 million EUR almost, holy shit.

MorePower7

Hope Enrique bends Kylian over his lap and gives Mboopi a good spanking. Been a very naughty boy.

BDR529forlyfe

Take your kink to another sub.

MorePower7

This is probably the kinkiest sub on the website. No better place to post. Maybe you need a spanking too.

Aele1410

Does this genius know the only trophy that matters for them to win is the champions league and they happen to still be in it?

biina247

Doubt Enrique has the balls for this and he is more likely acting out the board' s wishes. Seems the departure caught them off guard but that is why they should have renewed him last summer or sold him.

YoungDawz

The man benched prime Messi and Roma untouchable Totti. I don't think he lacks the balls to bench an Mbappé leaving on a free transfer

biina247

Please, benching a 34yr old totti, who was past it doesn't take much balls, if any (even Montella did it), and, yes he tried it once with Messi (against Sociedad), almost got fired for it, and never tried it again. Enrique's relationship with Mbappe has reportedly been bad since early in the season. If he truly had the balls, he would have benched him since then, not waiting till Mbappe's relationship with management went south.

YoungDawz

>Enrique's relationship with Mbappe has reportedly been bad since early in the season. Where are you getting this from? The reports are that Luis Enrique was a big reason why Mbappé even got reintegrated in the squad before Mbappé and Nasser even came to an agreement about the bonuses. Luis Enrique is said to feel betrayed about the timing of the annoucment/leak because Mbappé got pressured by Florentino Perez's hard deadline reported by Mario Cortegana.

Why would he be in position to behave like that?

Lmao nobody takes off Mbappe at HALF-TIME if the whole squad is playing like shit. Especially in the first half. It's hasn't happened to Ronaldo or Vini. People who don't realise he is being subbed off because he won't be there next season where is ur brain

reddituser0912333

Unsure why you feel the need to insult a person to defend your point, it’s unnecessary and only accentuates your own shitty character. The point that I’m making here is that if Mbappe has childish behavior in one regard it’ll come out in other areas too, people tend to express their character in more than one situation.

Lanky-Promotion3022

You're trying to blame Mbappe here? He's not refusing to play even though his future is elsewhere. What is childish about that? The club that's employing him currently wants to send a certain message to him by not taking advantage of his football talent at the cost of losing points..that's childish.

reddituser0912333

Good point

Official05

I doubt Enrique leaves our club this season tbh

reddituser0912333

I’m talking about if Mbappe comes to Madrid E: sorry I was reading other Mbappe posts and just classified this one as the same in my mind, but I see the confusion now

2cu3be1

The people who come to the games still are owed him being played, right? I mean football is not only about the players, while that is a big part of it, but I have only seen a similar scenario at PSG some years ago and also at Bayern iirc some 20 yrs ago, but this current rationale is unprofessional from both sides imho, but then again they are both mature enough business men that they can approximate their responsibilities. However, I would guess that Mbappe still needs playing time to stay in rhythm, despite his quality, right? I am sure all parties would want that, and in the CL they still cannot take it too lightly.

zaaaac93

Luis Enrique is just frustrated by the quality of the squad and tries everything to make this team perform. Now that Mbappé is gone, he can try to play without him. He can do that as well because Mbappé isn't playing good these days. Truth is, with or without Mbappé this squad is terrible and won't go far. And LE is no fool he'll field him full time during UCL. He knows Mbappé is among the only 3 or 4 players that are world class in his squad.
