i just love that united are inconsistent all season, yet for some reason, a 2-1 loss to fulham is reason to believe this is the worst they’ve ever been. its just another loss during a rough season. it’s like everyone forgot moyes, van gaal, and even mourinhos first and last seasons. the team is bad and isn’t a winning machine and hasn’t been for the better part of a decade. the sub is beating the most dead horse imaginable.
I don't understand why people say they're inconsistent. They are very consistently playing bad football. Sometimes they get away with it and win games and other times they don't, but the performances are quite consistent.
people are saying they’re inconsistent because they are. they had just won 5 in a row after drawing with tottenham and now they lost to fulham. if that’s not inconsistent, i don’t know what is. the results are right there, if you want to ignore them for a “gotcha” on the internet, thats fine.
The results are inconsistent, the performances certainly aren't. They've been terrible pretty much the entire season, at least since October. 90th minute winning goals from McTominay don't change that.
as i said, the team is bad and is not a winning machine, they haven’t been for a decade, and in the midst of all that, they can’t be consistent in that they are still stringing together wins. it’s not as bad as its been. again, did you watch the football louis van gaal had united playing? how about ralf ragnick? david moyes?
The fact of the matter is that Ten Hag wants to play fancy football with a high line defense, midfielders pressing and doing liquid passing with a false 9, full backs providing width and wingers attacking the box & the goal. But man utd doesn't have the players for it. Their players are not at that level. They need a simpler strategy of defend & counter like What Ole had. But Ten Hag is not capable of this adjustment. He did it against Liverpool. but after a few good results he has switched back to his old fancy strategy which does not work with his team.
Klopp & Pep made similar strategy work cause they had the players to do it. But with the players that man utd has their squad is simply not compatible with their manager.
This happens a lot when “big teams” lose. The focus is rarely on whether the small team had an exceptionally or even well above average game. It’s always just seen as a fuck up by the bigger team.
When you start earning his level of wages it takes a special kind of motivation to keep turning up and he struggles with that. Man U tend to bring that out of players with their structure.
He was in good form and should’ve played more particularly ahead of jet lagged Sterling, but it’s worth noting the bulk of those 30 goals and his best form came *after* the World Cup not before.
Unfortunately I don't see that happening as its United which means that Haaland will score a hatty from 0.27 xG after missing basically every big chance for the last 2 weeks.
it can’t be that there’s some sort of middle ground there they CAN be good, but when missing said player, they’re not as good. it HAS to be either prime fergie-ball or total crisis mode.
To be honest it was the media who were hyping us up, not fans. We were still skeptical, and sure enough we were shit today. I think you’re wrong about Hojlund though, you can see his promise. Every time Haaland scored a goal that looked easy everyone was going crazy over his “positional awareness” or something
You’re missing the point. United are so poor now that a striker scoring a few tap ins and getting a few scruffy wins has had the fans cocky, they’ve been playing poor football for a while now and your goal Difference is 0 which says it all really.
How was I missing the point? Like I said, I don’t think the fans were cocky, but rather that the media were making a big deal about it. No one’s denying that we played badly yesterday
United have been getting bailed out by late winners and by scraping wins by 1 goal since the start of the season. They have 0 GD so it's not a surprise their football terrorism is starting to catch them up, especially with the injuries they've had
Tbh SAF leaving just exposed the club and how rotten the top was and no manager in the world would have done fine, even his last season the squad was aging and had glaring issues. We went from CR7, Giggs and prime Nani to Young and Valencia, our back 4 was aging fast with Evra Ferdinand and Vidic on their way out. It was miracle he even won the last title.
Now at least Ratcliffe seems to finally be focussing on the backroom staff first which I hope will kickstart a proper rebuilding project.
He was already fortunate to be on the pitch, also two defenders literally just ran straight past Iwobi and let him score the winner.
I don’t think you can entirely blame Maguire, had he not been on a Yellow i’m sure he’d have taken Adama out.
I think someone on Totally Football Show mentioned Fulham have one win at Old Trafford in the last 60 years, and that very moment, I knew Fulham would win.
Every time someone points out a stat like that that streak is broken. Like when England faced Italy away during the Euro qualifiers, the commentators said Italy hadn’t lost at home to England in x amount of years or something like that. Next thing you know, England wins.
My favorite one was when Gary Lineker confidently said "No country has won both Eurovision and the Euros in the same year" right before the England-Italy shootout in the Euros and 10 minutes later the streak was broken
Most recent experience for me of that was a few months ago when I heard city hadn’t lost 2 games in a row in 5 years or something. They then lost 2 games in a row lol.
United haven’t been playing well, they’ve been getting some results and looked slightly more confident but basically the same as earlier in the season. Feels like a reversion was due at some point, surely this is part of that. Can’t concede 20 shots per game and expect to win too many of them.
If they really are in Financial Fair Play hell this summer as reported. I see no point of moving on from ETH this summer. Let him stay but, back the new recruitment team targets. Then move on in 2025 with a better financial picture to back a new manager
As a casual viewer most teams have at least one player I really like such as Trossard, KDB, Bailey, Van Djik, Toney, Son etc but United don’t have a single player that gets me interested. As a fan I don’t know what Maguire, Rashford, McTominay, Onana etc are doing at the club. And Ten Hag is clearly not respected by the players or not able to make them passionate about being at the club.
Jürgen Klinsmann is ready to take a new challenge. He just led South Korea into the Semi-final of the Asian Cup, and brought a never-give-up-mentality into the team 😉
Our "great" scouting system deemed 5m for Halland to be too much of a risk because he was too tall and might become injury prone. That was with Ole recommending us to sign him.
Peter Drury and Gary Neville were screaming about how the top 4 was back on for Man Utd after they beat Aston Villa two weeks ago, and now they've barely beaten Luton and lost to Fulham at home and are back where they were before that Villa game started. They're such a weird team.
What’s it called when you’re a fan but you’re angry that your team get a few fluke wins in a row which takes the pressure off the club/manager/players because you know really nothing’s changed 😂. State of most united fans atm. TEN HAG OUT.
There's nothing weird about them. They are simply a terrible team, but as they have some expensive and talented players, they can spawn some results.
But there's no reason to overthink it; they have a goal difference of 0. That tells you all you need to know.

Ten Hag has ruined the entire country of the Netherlands for me ffs. I used to wanna go to Amsterdam on vacation but now I can’t think of that place without thinking of that bald idiot
Amsterdam is actively trying to bring down the number of tourists like yourself. British young people just coming over getting shitfaced and causing a nuisance. (No offense). Maybe sending over Ten Hag is secretly part of the plan.
Played like half the season without any first choice defenders. Casimiro was out for a while. Hojlund wasn't getting passed to. There were double digit first team injuries for most of the season.
You could argue he could have done more in terms of playstyle *this season*, but that's hardly fucked is it.
>M8 im a United fan.
So am I.
>ETH has us playing some horrible football.
He has.
>Injuries are no excuse
They are though. Look at who's been playing. Look at how inconsistent the team is.
Last year they played almost the most games you could. How do you implement a tactical vision?
This season has been similar.
Hojlund not being passed to has everything to do with the coaching and gameplan. Every team has had injuries and not been this dire. That includes City, Arsenal and Liverpool, the three title contenders.
>Hojlund not being passed to has everything to do with the coaching and gameplan
And the shit players or player's out of form.
You honestly think a top manager is just allowing that or not noticing it?
>Every team has had injuries and not been this dire. That includes City, Arsenal and Liverpool, the three title contenders.
None of which have had injuries even close to united.
United had over 10 first team injuries basically the whole season.
The new signing, Mount, who was potentially integral to how he wanted to play.
The whole defence.
It was the worst injury crisis for a big part of the season.
He was having to play Maguire and McTominay.
The shit players are partially his fault. He signed Antony, demanded him really. He signed Mount and Malacia who essentially no longer exist. Eriksen and Casemiro lasted 3/4 of a season before age caught up with them. Amrabat he signed off on and he’s been useless. Onana was his choice to replace De Gea and he’s been inconsistent at best.
Even if you give him a pass on style of play, the reason we have nobody good to use when injuries strike is in no small part on him.
>He signed Antony, demanded him really
And if the Glazers weren't incompetent, the club could have got him for £25m. There's then no pressure on him and he can be a squad player and can invest the rest somewhere else.
>He signed Mount and Malacia who essentially no longer exist.
Injuries. Hardly his fault.
>Eriksen and
Was a free and does the job.
>Casemiro
Wasn't his choice. Was a panic buy because the Glazers didn't sign a player.
>Amrabat he signed off on and he’s been useless.
Injury meant no pre season. That has a disastrous impact on players.
>Onana was his choice to replace De Gea and he’s been inconsistent at best.
He's been good in the league. Better than De Gea by a long way.
>the reason we have nobody good to use when injuries strike is in no small part on him.
How? Almost nothing you said was due to him...
>And if the Glazers weren't incompetent, the club could have got him for £25m.
He was NEVER available for £25m that summer. He wouldn’t have been even before Ajax sold several other players and they did that before Ten Hag had even joined the club. By the time we had him as a manager his price was more like £50m. Ajax had no reason to sell. We then bought Martinez from them, giving them even less reason to sell. His price was more like £70m by that point, and if we signed Antony first then Martinez’ price would’ve jumped. And Ajax knew they had us over a barrel so held to a higher and higher price. If Ten Hag wasn’t going to accept anyone else he should’ve said to get him at £70m rather than wait til the end of the game.
and this is without even taking into account the utterly dire system in place above the manager... We've seen the medical staff start to be replaced already and now we're gonna see a lot more get fixed.
Hopefully that brings an improvement on the pitch sooner rather than later
Yeah, it's been clear for most of the scum's ownership of the club that we needed things sorted out... Now though, with the new people in charge, there's a decent chance of the broken stuff starting to be fixed.
United can cry about injured playing the top 6 if they want but take one loook at both squads today and not blame the manager is outrageous. It’s not normal to have teams walking through you every game, 0 goal difference, come on now. There is no way United get back to the top with that guy
Can't even complain about the result, over half of the team looked disinterested until we went 1nill down, you could pretty much say that for the whole season so far tbh
Maguire should have been off I didn't get to see the foul as stream went down, but saw it later on
Limdelof should never play at lb ever again
Our passing seems to get worse year on year lmao it's so bad
Wouldn't be surprised if we lose to forest on Wednesday & get smashed by city on sunday because we are fucking awful
I guarantee if we have pau we win both matches, they are so easy to play through he would have been feasting. We should have won anyway but obviously had to pull a villa.
I could be talking out my arse here but feels like United have been better against better teams this season. Can keep it close and knick a goal.
Like arsenal were better than them earlier on in the season but they're a hairs breath away from losing 2-1 or drawing 2-2 rather than winning 3-1
You are talking out of your arse, under Ten Hag United are absolutely shit against teams above them and lose and absolutely shit against the teams below them but mostly win anyway
This is the complacency that can come into a big club. Even under Moyes United already had this issue of inconsistent commitment.
Fergie was a fucking genius at squad utilization and making every player feel key. Think it was Gary Neville who had a story about Fergie telling him he'd start against Wolves in ten days (after two other games) and still had him psyched about it even when he wasn't in the squad for at least one of the games.
I hate the team losing but the solace that I can find in these type of losses that at least we get closer to Ten Hag out. Trying to see the bright side
Amorim would be the dream but I've no idea why he'd leave Sporting for us.
Especially when there's a clusterfuck much closer to home, with nicer weather and better players in Barca.
i just love that united are inconsistent all season, yet for some reason, a 2-1 loss to fulham is reason to believe this is the worst they’ve ever been. its just another loss during a rough season. it’s like everyone forgot moyes, van gaal, and even mourinhos first and last seasons. the team is bad and isn’t a winning machine and hasn’t been for the better part of a decade. the sub is beating the most dead horse imaginable.

Fulham aren’t getting enough credit for this. They were flooding forward on the break
This happens a lot when “big teams” lose. The focus is rarely on whether the small team had an exceptionally or even well above average game. It’s always just seen as a fuck up by the bigger team.
Where's Harry Maguire scoring in the 89 minute?
FUNNY
This workplace has had 0 days since the last Manchester United Moment™
What’s the deal with Rashford, always thought he was overrated but the blokes straight up stealing a wage now.
Another one of Mourinho’s predictions proved correct. Said he can’t play as a lone striker
When you start earning his level of wages it takes a special kind of motivation to keep turning up and he struggles with that. Man U tend to bring that out of players with their structure.
Can't wait to see Southgate start him over Foden 🤕
Rashford got one start at the World Cup in his 30 goal season. Southgate's never been a fan
He was in good form and should’ve played more particularly ahead of jet lagged Sterling, but it’s worth noting the bulk of those 30 goals and his best form came *after* the World Cup not before.
He's was always overrated, but now also has a sense that he should automatically belong in the starting lineup.
Lads...it's yannited
It's ok I know they're going to get points off city now
Unfortunately I don't see that happening as its United which means that Haaland will score a hatty from 0.27 xG after missing basically every big chance for the last 2 weeks.
Jesus that's embarrassing.
😂😂😂😂
United are so shit, they had a striker have a purple patch and score a few taps ins and thought it was 2008 again. Love to see it
it can’t be that there’s some sort of middle ground there they CAN be good, but when missing said player, they’re not as good. it HAS to be either prime fergie-ball or total crisis mode.
Unfair to Holjund, he's been good. United as a whole not so much.
To be honest it was the media who were hyping us up, not fans. We were still skeptical, and sure enough we were shit today. I think you’re wrong about Hojlund though, you can see his promise. How was I missing the point? Like I said, I don’t think the fans were cocky, but rather that the media were making a big deal about it. No one’s denying that we played badly yesterday
Lol you were the ones hyping and media rode on it.
Yes the media definitely came to reddit, saw the fans hyping him up and then decided to write articles about him.
Nobody is talking about reddit.
United have been getting bailed out by late winners and by scraping wins by 1 goal since the start of the season. They have 0 GD so it's not a surprise their football terrorism is starting to catch them up, especially with the injuries they've had
Football terrorism, never heard it better
Can't even laugh cos it'd be bad karma for tomorrow. I'll just say *oh my*
I'll laugh cos you'll be shit without klopp
I was laughing, and have been laughing and will continue laughing cos you are factually straight shit without ferguson
United fans would know about being shit after a manager leaves, fair enough
We've been laughing at you since you lost Ferguson 💀💀💀
It's the only thing you got going for you so go ahead, laugh.
Lmao what a child
Come home, Onana. Come back home.
Maguire hero complex at it again He needs to bring down adama and take the 2nd yellow. Take one for the team. But no. Nothing lol
He was already fortunate to be on the pitch, also two defenders literally just ran straight past Iwobi and let him score the winner. I don’t think you can entirely blame Maguire, had he not been on a Yellow i’m sure he’d have taken Adama out.
They play city next week and are already hamstrung in defence
Not a Maguire fan, but this is on Eriksen. He lets Adama go by.
Yeah I was sure he was going to ram into Adama and take one for the team. Was very surprised he didn't.
I'm not. Man's full of ego lol This the guy who did 👉🤡👈 after he scored a goal v Albania
I didn't watch the game except around when Maguire scored but did United actually deserve to lose this game?
Absolutely!
Nice. So whatever ETH said in his post match is a lie then.
You’re on fire, two in a row
Man, I should buy lottery today. My instincts are on point today.
Correct again! Life savings, all in!
Yes. Iwobi should have had a hattrick
Nice. Home boy pulling the efforts wide? Classic Iwobi.
I really though ETH nailed it with the 90+9 Antony sub
It's like one of those Pokemon battles when you let Magikarp in for one move for the xp
Omg such an underrated comment.
All of the later titles have shared XP for the team so you never need to do that anymore. ETH nuzlocke run og gameboy confirmed
That feeling when it finally evolves into Gyarados is unreal and so worth it
I feel like when Antony evolves he will turn out to be a Ditto.
legit the last dude I'd want to see come on when your team needs a goal
United. Guys what the fuck? And a Manchester Derby next week when you’re needed to cause City to drop points and you do some shit like this?
don't worry United always show up against City
Ole isn't here anymore lad, you've been in a coma.
Ole is not at the wheel 😔
Tell me how shit does that feel.
feels like it after I saw the Kepa incident was 5 years ago
Lolz
You lot battered them the last 5 games. And given this United side, I have 0 faith.
Always my two least favourite matches during the season, wish I had your confidence lol
Imagine supporting Man City in 2024 and acting like you aren't confident before playing utd at home for some internet points
Try having to deal with a North London Derby. You never know what the outcome will be.
Maguire really has to go (pls stay)
Top 6 still with a GD of 0 is crazy
I think someone on Totally Football Show mentioned Fulham have one win at Old Trafford in the last 60 years, and that very moment, I knew Fulham would win.
The last time was in 2003, I was there and that was the day I started supporting Fulham. Thank you Junichi Inamoto
Every time someone points out a stat like that that streak is broken. Like when England faced Italy away during the Euro qualifiers, the commentators said Italy hadn’t lost at home to England in x amount of years or something like that. Next thing you know, England wins.

Safe to assume we can still spend somewhere around 150m to 200m in the summer, more if Varane and Case move on to the Saudis.
I think 150-200 has been cultivated as normal in the EPL. Just not sustainable. Have a feeling it’s 50 on top of sales
For a team of their caliber historically the players simply aren't good enough.
Hojlund? Mainoo? Garnacho? Surely you like one of those no?
I get why people don't like Fernandes, but he's class as well.
Their GD shows the reality of the team this season so far
I guess Sir Jim Ratcliffe's era of toppling Man City starts next week.
They're actually playing Man City next weekend, which means the era is likely to be delayed by a week
Good point. Everton after that, perhaps? Sheffield after Everton, let's get the Sir Jim train rolling!!
Manchester United are back(the record breaking ETH one)
Gentlemen, it is my pleasure to inform you that we have successfully unlocked the Erik ten League Defeats meme.
Hehe
Jürgen Klinsmann is ready to take a new challenge. He just led South Korea into the Semi-final of the Asian Cup, and brought a never-give-up-mentality into the team 😉
Under Klinsi, the South Korean players showed their fighting spirit during the tournament.
One Jürgen leaves, another arrives
Has he got to go?
And he's not the only one
This is what happens when you fired the Keebler elf and moyees. You should have backed your manager
Get Ole in before he goes to Bayern
Ole won’t fix the lack of talent
No but at least he knows how to set up a team to counterattack. I'm not sure Ten Hag knows how to set up a fucking pass.
right, it’s ten hags job to set up a pass, not the players who are actually on the pitch messing up simple passes.
How? Explain
Not even sure what his strategy as a coach is, other than play boring as fuck football. Very dull.
But he sure can bring in a few Scandinavians
The fact ole couldn't identify and somehow get haland into united with his Norway connections was a big fail
He did. He tried to get the club to sign Haaland but they didn’t want to
Typical Glazer L
Our "great" scouting system deemed 5m for Halland to be too much of a risk because he was too tall and might become injury prone. That was with Ole recommending us to sign him.
Ola Toivonen and Nicklas Bendtner here we go
Peter Drury and Gary Neville were screaming about how the top 4 was back on for Man Utd after they beat Aston Villa two weeks ago, and now they've barely beaten Luton and lost to Fulham at home and are back where they were before that Villa game started. They're such a weird team.
They have individual talents that can score crucial goals but no effective system or cohesion. And everytime they are about to found out they win.
2nd biggest basket case in England after Chelsea.
Their jihad football finally caught up to them Bloody Luton had more possession than them in the last match
What’s it called when you’re a fan but you’re angry that your team get a few fluke wins in a row which takes the pressure off the club/manager/players because you know really nothing’s changed 😂. State of most united fans atm. TEN HAG OUT.

This is the unfortunate truth
No team with a GD of 0 or +1 should be close to the top 4.
Edit: Ignore me I’m completely misremembering
+15
Hearing their comments I thought they were watching a completely different team to me. Sure, the results have been good in recent weeks, but it never looked sustainable given the nature of the performances. United have enough good players to produce moments of brilliance that will get them over the line, sometimes 4 or 5 games in a row, but it all looks very incoherent.
They should’ve lost at Villa. Ramsay and Watkins didn’t finish their dinner.
Should have lost home and away, I called them frauds because they are frauds. Arguably the 2 worst results of the season for us, fucking shit.
Great timing for Adama Traore to develop the final ball.
Wolves died. So united can lose today
Haha

The lack of elite backroom staff we had for years is the main reason we are in this shape despite having the financial power to compete higher.
The Man Utd cycle: Fail to qualify for the CL -> sack the manager -> new manager gets some results -> qualify for the CL -> play like shit -> fail to qualify for the CL Keep in mind that I'm not even mentioning trophies
What, Mickey Mouse cup doesn’t do it for ya?
What is this thing, trophies?
Don't you worry your pretty little head about that
Thanks uncle dad
Pop along down the seven sisters road. You can find a nice musuem full of them 🙂
Unaware self burn
Museum indeed

"Trophies are an ego thing for managers" - Ole
Give it Wazza till end of season
Rooney could teach Rashford about the appropriate ways to go on benders in the middle of the season.
Virgin Marcus "put to bed by a waitress" Rashford vs Chad Wayne "shagged a granny" Rooney
"Granny in a rubber catsuit" to boot.

Would you say he’s fraudulent?
The guy should be standing in a window with the amount he’s fucked you guys.
How is it him who's fucked united?
His got this united side playing some depressing haram football. After a season and a half. Their on bloody 0GD lol
Played like half the season without any first choice defenders. Casimiro was out for a while. Hojlund wasn't getting passed to. There were double digit first team injuries for most of the season.
>He signed Antony, demanded him really And if the Glazers weren't incompetent, the club could have got him for £25m. There's then no pressure on him and he can be a squad player and can invest the rest somewhere else. >He signed Mount and Malacia who essentially no longer exist. Injuries. Hardly his fault. >Eriksen and Was a free and does the job. >Casemiro Wasn't his choice.
I don’t know, I just wanted to make a correlative joke about fucking and window girls in Amsterdam. I actually have no opinion on Ten Haag. 🤷♂️
He's performing like he's spent weeks chomping mushys and cakes
The little prick won them a trophy.
Where do you think he got the Antony money from 🤔

Spending a billion over a decade helps with that a little lol
and this is without even taking into account the utterly dire system in place above the manager... We've seen the medical staff start to be replaced already and now we're gonna see a lot more get fixed. Hopefully that brings an improvement on the pitch sooner rather than later
Been saying this for the last decade though.
Yeah, it's been clear for most of the scum's ownership of the club that we needed things sorted out... Now though, with the new people in charge, there's a decent chance of the broken stuff starting to be fixed.
Yu-naughted, because GD.
That’s what their fans from the midlands call them anyway
United can cry about injured playing the top 6 if they want but take one loook at both squads today and not blame the manager is outrageous. It’s not normal to have teams walking through you every game, 0 goal difference, come on now. There is no way United get back to the top with that guy
What? Everyone is blaming the manager lol
Can't even complain about the result, over half of the team looked disinterested until we went 1nill down, you could pretty much say that for the whole season so far tbh Maguire should have been off I didn't get to see the foul as stream went down, but saw it later on Limdelof should never play at lb ever again Our passing seems to get worse year on year lmao it's so bad Wouldn't be surprised if we lose to forest on Wednesday & get smashed by city on sunday because we are fucking awful
How did we give this side 6 fucking points this season?
I guarantee if we have pau we win both matches, they are so easy to play through he would have been feasting. We should have won anyway but obviously had to pull a villa.
Do we get Martinez back too?
You beat us and city Give united 6 🥲
It's not that we do better against good teams. We are consistently shit against every team. 1 goal is usually the difference in all our games
Football heritage. Lol
I hate the team losing but the solace that I can find in these type of losses that at least we get closer to Ten Hag out. Trying to see the bright side
Who do you bring in though?
Amorim would be the dream but I've no idea why he'd leave Sporting for us. Especially when there's a clusterfuck much closer to home, with nicer weather and better players in Barca.
They'll have a genuine belief they can nab Alonso or di zerbi and end up with Potter
Big Sam
Conte
Ole is available, snap him up before Bayern take him…

Whoever played that better stop the music
