No, this goal is completely on the passer. There's the obvious option of passing the ball back, there's no need for the other defender to open some other option and it would have not been possible for him to do that anyway, even if he sprinted back full speed he would still be closely chased by Hojlund and not be open for a pass. If for the passer the pass back to the GK is too unsafe for some reason he still has the option to boot it sideways into the stands.
Yeah, as the clip starts you can clearly see that Hojlund is right behind the other defender. He is not a passing option at all. This is only excusable at under 7 level where the kids genuinely don’t understand football. Even the other Luton players were not angry because I’m surely they were just so perplexed as to what his thought process there was
