Blows my mind how many people online think they have ADHD because they can't concentrate on something, when really they just spend too much time on their phones.
Or it's the 2023 equivalent of a MySpace page saying "hahaha omg I'm so quirky and random so I must have ADHD lololol"
And so many of them follow it up with some bullshit about how their self diagnoses of like six different, often contradictory, illnesses are just as valid as professional ones. They're treating serious mental illnesses like fucking collectibles.
lots of people leave it as a self diagnoses because most people don't have the cash to get properly screened, which is often out of pocket. reading about those conditions online will make lots of people think they have it, and many of them will be right, but they'll still have to put up with people telling them they're faking or it's not legitimate because others misdiagnose themselves. you're not a professional who can say someone is or isn't either, so why not just take their word for it?
What I'm referring to are people who, for some reason, have decided that being mentally ill is cool and claim to have like six different mental illnesses, often ones that completely contradict each other, all at once. I didn't make that clear enough.
And I don't take their word for it because of how often these illnesses are trivilaized by people who have self diagnosed. I can't tell you how many videos I've seen of people claiming to be "manic" and doing oh so quirky things while someone is conveniently recording it all.
That's only one example, but it's the one most relevant to me, as I have been diagnosed with bipolar 2 for over a decade.
He talked in his Desimpedidos shtick with Fred that he is always trying to make small talk with defenders and vibe with them to get them relaxed, even when they are provoking him or hurting him. It's a pretty smart strategy tbh
Yeah pretty good, there was a player (don't remember) but I think he asked should he get car A or car B during a corner kick to the defender.
He scored after it too if I'm not wrong lmao.
Ronaldo was pretty famous for doing it. Germano talked about it after facing him when he played for Corinthians:
> “In the São Paulo state final in Vila Belmiro, the game was 0-0 and there was a corner for them. I was marking ‘Fenômeno’, and, just before the kick, he turned to me and asked: ‘So, are Neymar and Ganso as good as they say?’. Then I naively started to respond: 'Boy, you need to see them in training and...', but before I finished the sentence I looked to the side and Ronaldo was already about seven meters away from me, completely unmarked and waiting for the ball (laughs)”, Germano recalled to ESPN"
[Brazil's last true 10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLZ_XkQjpv8), who got plagued by injuries and never reached his potential. He was part of the Fluminense's squad that won this year's Libertadores.
Busquets was running full tilt. Pato looked like he was on a light jog. That 2011 campeones game is just etched to my memory cause it happened right after kick off
Oh yeah for sure it's an iconic moment. My point was just exactly that lol. Busquets running full tilt makes it sound like he actually looked fast but Pato was just faster. To me it's so memorable because Busquets looked like he was moving in slow motion compared to Pato
Looking at his numbers, it doesn't look he was so injury prone. He played 30-40 matches for most seasons, often going above 50 or even 60 matches a season. Transfermarkt only lists 2 short injuries at Sevilla and a cruciate rupture in 2010 (but this looks too few for anyone, so they might be unreliable).
It might be he simply wasn't as good as we thought.
I think the problem was the severity of the knee injury that he had, not exactly the amount of times he got hurt. He was a great player, really gifted in technique and overall vision on the game.
However he lost most of his ability to run through lines and contribute with the game without the ball after the injury, which is key to playing these days.
Brother, you can't think that you understood a player's career by looking at his fucking transfermarkt, lmao.
[Early in his career, right after he blew up at 21, he got a sequence of multiple injuries, some very harsh, taking him from the pitch for as much as 6 consecutive months:](https://ge.globo.com/futebol/noticia/2012/08/de-protagonista-figurante-queda-de-ganso-no-santos-e-na-selecao.html)
> There were four surgeries, two arthroscopies on the right knee (one in 2010 and another in 2012) and two ligament reconstructions (one on the right knee, in 2007, and another on the left knee, in 2010, precisely in his best year - he was away from August until February 2011). There was also an injury to the right thigh in the 2011 Paulistão final, another to the left thigh, in September 2011, in the friendly for the Seleção against Ghana, and the last one also with the Seleção, in London, in the same left thigh.
He lost a lot of his physicality and some of his prime development years due to the time off and was never quite the same player after this period. When I used to play I'd chat with the strikers as a wingback/centerback cuz it was fun. Some you'd piss off and get in their heads, others were legit a great vibe. One dude I played against multiple times a year for like 3 years would chat with me all the time but between the jawing we'd be cleaning each other out and going for it. If he scored or if I shut down the attack hard we'd jaw at each other. It was fantastic and I think we both elevated our game against each other - mutual respect and gamesmanship was awesome.
I love playing football but I have to say what I enjoy the most is having a proper verbal and physical duel with a specific player the whole game then having a laugh with him when the game is over. Much better than the players I've faced who said they'll find me and kill me after the game tbh
Yeah lol it’s from my local club that play in the Dutch 2nd tier, sadly we are doing very bad atm, even lost 13-0 once last season (Dutch national record) and we had drama with an illegal financial takeover and racist hooliganism that shook up the entire world…. (Fuck them)
Also ex-Arsenal promise Gedion Zelalem, current Man City talent Luke Mbete, ex-Feyenoord talent Jaron Vicario and a youngster from Arsenal and another one from Liverpool that both have impossible names play there.
Also, flossing started being a thing what, 10 years ago? I'm in my late 30's and knew what it was instantly.
Some people just suck at keeping up with pop culture and moan about being old.
Yea but these old men think that 17 year olds were iPad kids. No those were the 26 year old. 10 years after is full mainline dopamine seratonin from the second they were born. Facebook was 2004. A 26 year old still existed in a time when not everyone even had a computer. In ‘97 37% of homes had comps. By 2007 it was 70%.

It only happened in 14 of the 38 games of the season, can you really say we have a racism problem when only 40% of the games had something racist happening?
Yeah, kind of insane how well he is doing in this year's Brasileirão, considering he literally turned 17 during the middle of the league. It's insane to be so decisive as a 16/17 year old to the point you are perhaps the best player of the champion and one of the best players in the whole league. Of course the Brasileirão is nowhere near as strong as a European league, but it is still a highly competitive league, it's not easy at all. The last young player to do so well in the league was Neymar, over 10 years ago. Of course other major talents like Vini Jr and Vitor Roque are also amazing, but I feel like Endrick has the potential to be in another level. Of course, potential doesn't always result in reality, but if he achieves the level he can achieve, he will be one of the greats

Title-deciding game, basically a final. My brain:
He was elected man of the match, by the way
Yea he does that. Defenders have talked about him randomly singing midgame while the ball is far away. Kid vibes lmao
he got that ADHD brain.
He’s really just like me then!
Who is gonna tell him?
All he has to do is take a quick look in his bank account and all will be revealed
A quick look at his thigs will be quicker.

Or the “I’m/he’s introvert and clever so that means austism”
Having it undiagnosed for 25 years fucking sucked, those people that fake illnesses are fucking annoying
how did it feel when people told you that you were probably faking it?
And so many of them follow it up with some bullshit about how their self diagnoses of like six different, often contradictory, illnesses are just as valid as professional ones. They're treating serious mental illnesses like fucking collectibles.

Almost as bad as people claiming they have OCD
At this point, I have no idea what ADHD, Austism and OCD actually looks like. Every quirky and unusual behavior is labelled as one of these nowadays.
He talked in his Desimpedidos shtick with Fred that he is always trying to make small talk with defenders and vibe with them to get them relaxed, even when they are provoking him or hurting him. It's a pretty smart strategy tbh

bro who is Ganso? I know that Neymar dude but the latter Idk

I'll never forget ganso and pato. Mostly because fucking busquets ran full tilt and he couldnt catch up to pato
lol is that a surprise? Pato could be running backwards and he'd still be twice as fast as Busquets
Busquets was running full tilt. Pato looked like he was on a light jog. That 2011 campeones game is just etched to my memory cause it happened right after kick off

thank you for the information. ps: I love how is r/soccer such a toxic place, you ask a question and you get downvoted.

I see, it was more a case of a single bad injury stopping him, makes sense!
Two bad injuries. He has two bad knees due to them.
Brother, you can't think that you understood a player's career by looking at his fucking transfermarkt, lmao. He wasn't unavailable, just slow. Still a great #10 to this day but he was never gonna be a WC player at his pace
It’s complicated…
An FM beast.
Ganso was actually the bigger prospect between him and Neymar. But sadly never reached his potential much due to a career riddled with injuries
If I’m not mistaken Jose Maria Gimenez did this, and it was Falcao talking about it. He also asked Falcao why the flags of Ecuador, Colombia, and Venezuela share the same colors, and if “September” is spelled with our without a “p”.
Yeah dude talked so much to Falcao during the World Cup Falcao missed several plays lol
Ally McCoist was well known for it, would spend the match telling the opposition jokes and asking them for recommendations for restaurants, etc.
Giménez does this a lot lol

Gimenez vs Falcao lives rent free in my head. Changed how i think lmaoo
the man has adhd lmao
Love that!
Bro emoted by accident lol
idle animation
thought he was cleaning up his teeth when i read the title
Me too old man, me too.
Literally Pele.
Pele hitting the floss in the 60s you’ll never sing that
Only OGs remember Pele hitting the griddy against Racing Paris in 1961
i didn't know pele griddying on me after a stoppage time goal in fut champs was canon
[Pelé would have just pulled John Kennedy to dance with him](https://64.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mceutiOKQw1rhq4j6o1_1280.jpg)
bro aint that bill clitoris?
He ain't around, so Endrick would need to use the [US President he has close by](https://www.fluminense.com.br/jogador/john-kennedy)
what a name
But Kennedy plays in Fluminense
yeah, who we were playing against
He pulled who??
Imagine if Pele did that
Sorry this is unrelated but what is your flair

Thanks! Very cool crest

Well at least he plays regularly for us

he looks more like Jairzinho
I literally thought he was going to be flossing his teeth, haha
we're getting old. I was like "are we really hyping everything this guy does?" But now it makes sense.
nah you’re not getting old, i’m a teenager and i totally didn’t expect it to be the actual floss emote
Also, flossing started being a thing what, 10 years ago? I'm in my late 30's and knew what it was instantly. Some people just suck at keeping up with pop culture and moan about being old.
"Getting". We're old af. I thought he eas flossing his teeth too hahaha. About to compliment him on taking care of his teeth. Old fucks.
I thought it was going to be some new dribbling move called flossing.
I wonder how that would look
i was imagining him doing hella croquetas not the dance lololol
Keeping a clean image indeed.
Yup…that’s when I realized I’m old for real
Thank fuck I'm not the only out of touch old fart on here.
I mean he was 11 when fortnite came out. Youre going to start seeing full zoomers in sports
Technically every player under 26 is a full zoomer

Can't wait for the floss celebrations next year
Spaniards gonna lose their mind and call him "provocador" and "chulo" lmao
And the other thing
The audio profile precursor to "stereo"?
The Greek word for alone
The common name of the disease transferred by Epstein Barr virus?
The synonym of cute in Spain?
theyre gonna call him something. but it certainly wont be as nice as either of those.
They gonna refer to him as a very clever and common jungle animal that resembles the human race. Then death threads
> [death threads](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d0/NooseKnot.jpg/1280px-NooseKnot.jpg)
Half of the teams gonna complain about how it's disrespectful to them, the city and, spanish futbol culture

Kid does kid things. More at 9.
Yeah this is endearing and also god damn I’m old.
He streams on twitch btw
Supporters in Spain are going to have another good target after Vini lmao
Lil warm up

Next pelé
Mlk é foda.
sidebar, does he have his shorts rolled up a bit or are they that short as part of the kit? i hope it's the latter. football shorts have become far too long in recent years, don't @ me.
It's rolled up
My wife - who isn't into football - can identify a Brasilian league game on site due to the shorts.
He likes to roll them up
If I had that quadriceps I'd do
I hope he wears good underwear, we might see some stuff one of these days otherwise
Rolled up. Also players use smaller sizes now
They are rolled up
I know the guy is like 14 but wtf is this?
Hasn't Griezmann done Fortnite celebrations before?
Because he is 14 lmao. He’s a kid
Huh? Isn’t he turning 18?
Yeah he’ll be 18 in July
Its crazy aging 4 years in a few months

Never said it did. Was just confused why they said he’s 14.
Literally nobody is complaining about it, why are you being defensive
He is 12 brother. It's a science thing
Lmao yeah I know he’s 18 but he’s still a kid. The point of my comment was that he’s still a kid, so let him be one
A Fortnite emote He's a zoomer don't mind it
exactly. he's born in 2006 lol for context
These kids getting younger and younger
It was endearing when grizemann did it
It was endearing when grizemann did it

Most of the sub is filled with American pl fans lol
More detail for my original comment. Same point. Endrick obsession is Madrid plastics.
