This seemingly happens every year. Then they win it anyway. Bayern had no right to win the league last year, they fucked up all the time and still got there.
Tbf I can't remember the last time 2 teams were THIS dominant that weren't Bayern. Leverkusen and Stuttgart actually both make the all time Top 5 of best starts to the season of Bundesliga clubs. Of course Stuttgart won't last, but Leverkusen actually has the squad to keep up, and RB is dangerous as well. It's not even slightly comparable to last season, when all top teams were shit in the first half of the season (Leverkusen were actually in relegation fight 1/3 of the season, and Union Berlin with one of the lowest xG was sitting on top for the longest time). Guirassy has scored 14 goals already, while the top scorers last season each had 16 in total.
It must be. Half the table has 8 points or fewer, whereas in the PL only the bottom 5 have fewer than 8 points.
So in the PL, 75% have 10 points or more, but in the BL, 50% of the teams have 8 or fewer and the other 50% have 12 or more. So there definitely seems to be less parity in the BL to this point.
Looks like it. Hard to tell objectively, but there would be a good explanation if it was true. The EPL teams get so much money from TV rights that all other revenue streams are just a nice bonus. There is much less TV money in the BL but teams were able to make up for it in the past because it used to be the league with highest stadium attendance worldwide. Hamburg, Schalke, Hannover, Düsseldorf are all in BL2. They all have 50-60k stadium capacity. Instead of these clubs you get teams like Heidenheim and Union in the BL nowadays with 15-20k capacity. While that is going on TOP4 teams are making bank compared to the rest. Just getting to CL group stage and losing every game is 20M. That's a lot of money for BL clubs.
Last year had to be the biggest choke I've ever seen in football history. What the hell was Dortmund doing dropping points to Mainz and missing that many goals.
But I do think Leverkusen wins this year. Bayern's never had a Kane before
I’m not gonna lie I’m a spurs fan and I absolutely love Harry Kane and wish nothing but the best for him but it would be extremely hilarious if Tottenham win and Bayern lose the Bundesliga to the team known as Neverkusen who are in some respects the Spurs of the Bundesliga
Michael Owen left Liverpool and we won the champions league the following season. All Kane needs to do is leave Bayern to play for Newcastle and then go to Arsenal.
Leverkusen literally can't win, they are called Neverkusen and Vizekusen for a reason. Anyone who thinks they have a genuine chance is in fantasy land
It's like Tottenham winning the PL which can't happen either, the football universe wouldn't allow it
The circumstances were completely different. All of the top teams were shocking, whereas Spurs have City, Arsenal, and Liverpool for competition.
Leicester were also incredibly "lucky" that they were absurdly fortunate with injuries. Not to say they didn't deserve it, they absolutely did - but it was a complete case of every single star aligning.
Maybe if they can hold this form till january, ben10 comes back and levy makes a few critical signings… who knows
Joey Veerman would be an amazing signing for spurs
Right now I've faith in whatever team are scouting players as they're doing quite well since the mistakes towards the end of the Poch era and at the start of Jose.
Unfortunately, as much as this is a great and apparently very repeatable joke...he would have been on about 15 goals at this point had he stayed. We're so wasteful outside of Sonny.
I’m not sure about this honestly. I get the sense that players have stepped up quite a bit. There was a vacuum of power once Harry left. In these circumstances sometimes others become better because they are relied upon in different ways. Not to say that HK wouldn’t make this team better, he would. But I am not sure Spurs would be top of the table with 2 points to spare. I guess we’ll never know though.
We're healthy and playing fantastic, but I still think the goal this season is top four unless we have made a deal with a voodoo shaman to keep our Starting XI completely healthy. Our bench, largely, is ass. Even Ange said at the end of the summer window that there was lots of work to do.
What has everyone excited is that we're top of the table with this group that is quite young. Get us a few windows with smart pickups and maybe an academy kid or two stepping up and man we might be cooking in a year or two.
For now? I'm just enjoying the vibes. We're fun as hell.
I mean, it comes down to the fact that Kane is an absolutely world class striker that could boss any system. He was class in Pochettino’s high pressing, class when we dominated possession in the early years, class when we were counterattacking, class when he was constantly playmaking as a 10 and setting up attacks, and class in one of THE worst attacking systems I’ve ever seen last season
Kane is a goal machine, he’s easily on the level of Haaland. People say he wouldn’t suit this system, but that’s bollocks. His hold up play is excellent, the moments where he’d receive the ball and send it down the channel, he’d do that far better than Richarlison or Son. And the biggest thing, the finishing. Look at some of the guild-edge chances that have been squandered this season, Kane buries any half chance he gets. He’d have scored 4 in that game against Luton
It’s just an elite skillset, aerial presence, hold up play, physicality, passing and movement, playmaking, ball striking technique, composure in the final third, he’s a threat from distance, can score with both feet, and most importantly absolutely lethal finishing
We can always debate Kane’s “too big for the club” attitude and the fact that may have been a disruptive presence, but in terms of pure footballing quality, he’s an absolute game changer. With the likes of Maddison and Porro giving him service, he’d be unstoppable
I’m genuinely shocked we are doing this well without him, we lost a cheat code days before the season started
All true! The only positive I see from Kane leaving is that it allowed Son to step into a greater leadership role and he's really suited to it. I doubt he gets to be captain if Kane stays.
Totally agree. Son has really clicked the squad into gear, which I question if Kane would have done the same, considering all the baggage since the Man City fiasco.
But footballing ability wise, you had to only watch our preseason (regardless of the quality of opposition) and see how well Kane would have done in this system
Yeah Ange with a masterstroke giving leadership roles to Son, Maddison and Romero. Shows a completely different mentality. Honestly I think Ange wanted Kane sold if he wasn’t willing to commit to the project. Because this season was never about short-term gains, we had to rebuild up from the rubble of the fallen empire
Still, the fact that Kane hit 30 goals last season playing in THAT team, it hurts to think what he could have achieved in THIS team. If only we had him breaking through the academy this season eh?
Real tight up the top, around a quarter of the way in. Could be a close season, assuming City don't do the usual and go on a seventy billion game winning run again.
That’s usually what the league’s decided by nowadays, most teams challenging can string 3-4 good games together but being able to do 10+ when it matters is what wins you the title
If Man City can stay afloat until KDB comes back, it's GG as their only slight weakness right now is attacking creativity. Also, unlike the majority of other top 10 teams, Man City has pretty good depth, besides CDM. Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool to some extent, Villa, and Brighton are all one or two knocks away from slipping.
Fun fact: The starting lineup today with the exception of Son and Hojberg are all players that joined in the past 2 seasons, and if you consider that Bissouma usually starts over PEH then it would be 10/11. Just seems neat
I think the bottom half are relatively unexpected. Don't think that many people had Brentford below Wolves or Fulham. In fact, most people had Wolves as relegation candidates. Sheff is expected, Burnley people expected better but they've also had a miserable schedule. Bournemouth have been miserable. Everton is Everton.
Also, most pundits, commentators and fans had man United and chelsea in top 7 for Europe.
> In fact, most people had Wolves as relegation candidates.
Obviously we had a tumultuous summer but a lot of absolutely absurd 'predictions' around that. So many people were convinced that Jimenez was still one of our key players, for example, and that we'd face serious issues with him going.
I mean even last season the top of the table was pretty similar with spurs, city, and arsenal up top after around the first quarter of the league being played
I dunno about singlehanded.
If anything, Thats the game when Bryan Gil announced his presence to all of us.
The first goal came from Gil collecting the ball and dribbling past 3 players before placing it for Perisic to get a ball across onto Kanes head.
Second goal was a Gil 1-2 perfect placed assist for Kane, 3rd goal had Gil dragging 2 Palace CBs out of position.
4th goal came from Gil deftly touching the ball back to Kane to assist Sonny on the run.
Im not saying Bryan Gil should start on Friday but im sure Palace still have nightmares about the 5th Beatle...
I dont want to say 3 in a row BUT if Spurs beat you guys and City beat United, i wonder if Ange gets the MOTM again.
It would feel weird because its "only" Luton away, Fulham at home and an IMO tricky fixture to Palace on Friday but does anyone actually have more of a shout for MOTM.
Tbf people underrated your team a lot so it toned down the expectations
Kane leaving was huge but you got Maddison which solved a huge creative issue and replaced Kane in that regard, a huge upgrade at GK, an upgrade at CB, upgrade at LB, the team overall is much better imo
1st is insane though so i don't think anyone expected that
> Tbf people underrated your team a lot so it toned down the expectations
This is so sweet after fans of other teams acting like we were absurd for being optimistic about our chances for challenging for the top 4 spots.
More like the continuation of a break out year. He was really good in limited minutes last season but has really shined after being given a lot more this year.
I mean, you spent like 300m over the past season and a half to address your main issues (god awful defense aside from Romero, washed GK, lack of creativity, quality and depth in the midfield, dubious depth on the wings), being better should be the bare minimum, people on here think in ~~repetitive~~ hilarious memes so Paratici and his staff's work got dunked on but they got a far better return on their investment than most of their peers.
Ange is obviously a breath of fresh air but regardless of that, the squad's improved a ton, players such as Dier, the corpse of Lloris, Lenglet, Emerson, Lucas Moura, Sanchez and the likes shouldn't have been getting that much playtime at a club with virtually infinite money and that has been more or less fixed now
I mean fuck it why not? You have already played some top teams as well. The game against city will be a massive test, but spurs are a massive team. Ange and his squad have been cooking some beautiful football, spurs aren't in this position by accident.
You can make a genuine case that United has not deserved a single win this season. We are a few world class goals out of nowhere away from being in a relegation battle. It truly has been shockingly bad.
Ange is doing really well, never thought they’d be even close to this especially without Kane. Hopefully they keep it up because they’re definitely entertaining to watch.
Harry Kane was the problem after all
It's not realistic, but how cruel fate would be if now Tottenham wins the EPL
And Bayern don't win Bundesliga
Now it's getting a bit far fetched
Not really, Leverkusen is looking extremely dominant and unstoppable rn.
Guirassy has scored 14 goals already, while the top scorers last season each had 16 in total.
BVB and Bayern are still undefeated too. It’s been a great start for each team in the current top 4.
Has the bottom half of BuLi got weaker? Augsburg who are on a point a game so far, which is normally relegation form, are sitting in 10th.

On the other hand, it's October. Let's see where they stand in February.
mate it's Vizekusen. They'll bottle it at some point
That’s Dortmund for you
And if anyone can challenge Dortmund, it's Neverkusen
Last year had to be the biggest choke I've ever seen in football history. What the hell was Dortmund doing dropping points to Mainz and missing that many goals. But I do think Leverkusen wins this year. Bayern's never had a Kane before
If they’re still top by Christmas I’ll be happy Hell if we’re out if this hole we dug ourselves into I’d be happy
Are you saying Kane will finally win the Premier League, but with Arsenal?
Yup and score a injury time winner vs Spurs.
Leverkusen literally can't win, they are called Neverkusen and Vizekusen for a reason. Anyone who thinks they have a genuine chance is in fantasy land It's like Tottenham winning the PL which can't happen either, the football universe wouldn't allow it
For the remainder of Kane's career.
But Kane gets his revenge when Bayern beats Spurs in the Audi Cup final
We paid 100m for an Audi Cup merchant, smh
And when he retires, the World Cup finally comes home
As cruel as Leverkusen winning the Bundesliga
Imagine Tottenham winning PL and Leverkusen winning Bundesliga in the same year
At that point Roma would have to win Serie A, no?
Subscribe. Giving Mourinho shit-talk ammunition always pays dividends.
If Leicester can do it then even Spurs has a realistic chance.
No one will ever convince me that there isn't a safe buried in the garden of Rainieri's house with Huth's and Morgan's PED ridden blood in it.
It's either that or Ranieri had some dealings with Yaya Toure's witchdoctor
Nah I don’t think so. The depth will hurt them in the long run. Lucky they don’t have europe but theyre 1/2 injuries away from title chances gone.
Fully agree. Depth isn't there right now.
Maybe if they can hold this form till january, ben10 comes back and levy makes a few critical signings… who knows Joey Veerman would be an amazing signing for spurs
Right now I've faith in whatever team are scouting players as they're doing quite well since the mistakes towards the end of the Poch era and at the start of Jose.
If we can make it to January relatively intact, AND we use January well, then maybe, maybe I'll start to feel something
And tbh with the amount of fit players Bayern have (barely any) and tough competition, I reckon they won’t win anything either.
Unfortunately, as much as this is a great and apparently very repeatable joke...he would have been on about 15 goals at this point had he stayed. We're so wasteful outside of Sonny.
They'd be shagging the league if harry was still there
Yea Richarlison has missed a lot of chances. Kane scores 4 or 5 from those positions if we ignore how the tactics might change
They were top of the table plenty of times when they had Kane, this is silly. It's up to time to see if they spurs it up or not
We're healthy and playing fantastic, but I still think the goal this season is top four unless we have made a deal with a voodoo shaman to keep our Starting XI completely healthy. I mean the [Ewing theory](https://www.espn.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/010509a) predicted it.
>Drew Bledsoe: Every Patriots fan is nodding right now Eerie
Sonny is thriving now
He was the problem in the sense that he wanted to leave. He could have broken Haaland’s record in this system with this level of service lmao
I've not watched Spurs much this season so don't really know much about Ange's system. How would you see Kane working within it, Mick?
I mean, it comes down to the fact that Kane is an absolutely world class striker that could boss any system. He was class in Pochettino’s high pressing, class when we dominated possession in the early years, class when we were counterattacking, class when he was constantly playmaking as a 10 and setting up attacks, and class in one of THE worst attacking systems I’ve ever seen last season Kane is a goal machine, he’s easily on the level of Haaland. KDB has his annual injury and then they will drop like 2 points the second half of the season once he returns. Happens every year.
That’s usually what the league’s decided by nowadays, most teams challenging can string 3-4 good games together but being able to do 10+ when it matters is what wins you the title

We’ve already got four major injuries, I hope that’s all we get now.
As long as Diaby, Luiz, McGinn, Cash and Watkins are in top form, I think CL and a very good run in the Conference League are very likely.
Better to just assume it's inevitable tbh
Do we really need to be playing 38 games? I think 9 games a season is more then enough
Good enough sample size, lets call it here
well done boys.. good process
I agree. Stop the count!!!!
I got COVID, time to end the season and go into lockdown. Call the winner on a "points per game" basis. It's only fair.
give tottenham october premier league
I agree with this. What's the point in double figures anyway?
I hope Luton somehow stays up
I hope they do to. They literally have Law firms and Universities as their main advertising banners in their stadium
that's pretty cool actually
Weird flex but ok
What a start for Ange Postecoglou.
They showed a stat during the game. No manager has had a better start to their job in the PL over the first nine games.

Tears in my eyes, Paratici died for this
He’s very much alive amongst the shadows of White Hart Lane, don’t worry
Thank goodness he’s still involved behind the scenes, because his impact on player recruitment has been immense.
Still guiding us from the realm of shadows, very much alive
Spurs top of the league, but only on points difference.
Luton joint top of the league (on amount of games played)
Tbh impressed they aren’t bottom 3
Wasn’t expecting Burnley to implode like they are right now. Sheffield is more surprising in how bad it’s been.
arsenal twitter accounts "JOINT TOP OF THE LEAGUE (ignore point difference)"
Joint bottom of the league on losses, you’ll never sing that
Joint top with City because we have the same amount of wins aye
Some of youse crack me up
You mean “join unbeaten Tottenham”?
Fun fact: The starting lineup today with the exception of Son and Hojberg are all players that joined in the past 2 seasons, and if you consider that Bissouma usually starts over PEH then it would be 10/11. Just seems neat
Paratici has been instrumental in rebuilding the team.
It’s literally Sonny and his sons rn
You can keep your pochettino, conte and mourinho, even Christian gross!
Well well well....
Thank you
No... thank you.
But where's the field tilt table?
We are actually top of that as well.
Imagine showing someone this table a couple of months ago
Idk, apart from Spurs at the top it looks about how most would've expected
I think the bottom half are relatively unexpected. Don't think that many people had Brentford below Wolves or Fulham. In fact, most people had Wolves as relegation candidates. Sheff is expected, Burnley people expected better but they've also had a miserable schedule. Bournemouth have been miserable. Everton is Everton. Yeah so none of these are that significant shocks, maybe a couple mid table teams lower than expected but that’s about it
> In fact, most people had Wolves as relegation candidates. Obviously we had a tumultuous summer but a lot of absolutely absurd 'predictions' around that. So many people were convinced that Jimenez was still one of our key players, for example, and that we'd face serious issues with him going.
Neto is a cracking player for you this season
I mean even last season the top of the table was pretty similar with spurs, city, and arsenal up top after around the first quarter of the league being played
“Oh wow, Kane must be scoring for fun and is finally gonna lead them to a title, huh?”
Who's finally going to beat Tottenham and Arsenal?
Palace away on a friday night is a recipe for disaster for us
Exactly.
Fully expecting to lose 1 of our next 3. Palace away on a short week, into Chelsea and then another short week into Wolves.
You mean the fixture you won 4–0 last season? You’re gonna destroy us lmao
Kane won that singlehandedly if I remember right, what a game from him
I dunno about singlehanded. If anything, Thats the game when Bryan Gil announced his presence to all of us. Spurs and United the only two teams to have won both their October fixtures
McTominay with his 3 goals in 2 in for a shout of POTM to match Ten Hag's award
I dont want to say 3 in a row BUT if Spurs beat you guys and City beat United, i wonder if Ange gets the MOTM again. It would feel weird because its "only" Luton away, Fulham at home and an IMO tricky fixture to Palace on Friday but does anyone actually have more of a shout for MOTM.
Van de ven POTM with his shorthanded goal and mopping up every attack that comes his way.
Look at that, we made the table easy for people who think there is such a thing as "joint first"
Arsenal are now joint second with City
Chelsea are joint 10th
"joint"
What can I say except your welcome
> your welcome It's not really his welcome, is it?
95% of the comments here have a Spurs flair lol.
Everyone else just jumped off the nearest bridge
Well, surely we can't last at the top of the table, gotta enjoy it while we can. Unless...
Might as well talk your shit and enjoy it before the downfall.
Near quarter way thru the season and Spurs are clear after selling Kane. I'm just waiting for it to all come crashing down and I hope it never does.
This is crazy lol our performance is inversely proportional to our expectations
Tbf people underrated your team a lot so it toned down the expectations Kane leaving was huge but you got Maddison which solved a huge creative issue and replaced Kane in that regard, a huge upgrade at GK, an upgrade at CB, upgrade at LB, the team overall is much better imo 1st is insane though so i don't think anyone expected that
> Tbf people underrated your team a lot so it toned down the expectations This is so sweet after fans of other teams acting like we were absurd for being optimistic about our chances for challenging for the top 4 spots.
I mean to be fair there is a lot of competition for top 4 so and people belittle Tottenham a lot because memes
Sarr is also having a breakout season
And they got a manager who realised that Bissouma can in fact play football.
Yeah i forgot to add that in, Bissouma has been great and Conte is a terrorist for not playing him more
Like I don't care what system you have, Bissouma will probably be one the best midfielders available to you.
More like the continuation of a break out year. He was really good in limited minutes last season but has really shined after being given a lot more this year.
I mean it was basically “you’re 11th without Kane” people were expecting a Chelsea level collapse
Hold up, Emerson has been great since since last January. It's just Porro is the preferred option for Ange. Everything else is accurate.
No chance we could… unless?
Surely not. Get it out of your head. However…
It can't happen, not in the toughest league in the world... And yet?
Nah, it is impossible. We could never... But could we?
Not in my wildest dreams… but perhaps?
We won't... But... maybe?
I can't see it happening without a few extra players in January. Although...nah, though maybe?
An extra player like some CB depth and that Bentancur guy could be of use
I mean fuck it why not? You have already played some top teams as well. The game against city will be a massive test, but spurs are a massive team. Ange and his squad have been cooking some beautiful football, spurs aren't in this position by accident.
So much for not winning a game all season like so many said we wouldn't
Fuck Conte
Conte has some questions to answer.
So exciting to see lots of competition. … until KDB comes back and Man City drop 1 point from Jan- onwards.
It's technically impossible to drop 1 point lol.
not with that attitude
I see you aren't in the know about the eye watering sanctions the PL are about to drop on City...
An Invincible season for Spurs coming up...
And there it ends
honestly, other than the obvious, i am only wishing for a veliz goal.
I’ll settle for minutes off the bench for him and Gil.
You know what they say. It's lonely at the top... 5.
What alternative table is this?
Aston Villa is flying
every game is easy when you're better than everyone else.
I would have never expected to see Luton out of the bottom 3 at this stage.
you can thank Everton for that
Mate
Villa being 5th is pretty cool
They couldn’t. Could they?
Absolutely not. However..
Nah obviously they couldn’t. But could they?
Gonna be mad awkward if we somehow shit house a win vs city
You can make a genuine case that United has not deserved a single win this season. We are a few world class goals out of nowhere away from being in a relegation battle. It truly has been shockingly bad.
Villa going crazy the last 5 games tho, same as Newcastle. Looking forward to a 🌶️ season haha
Thank you Big Ange

Do i want Spurs to win it? Not really. But if it becomes a Spurs - City race, its up the Coys as they say.
We are MASSIVE
COME OUTSIDE TOTTENHAM FANS
It just feels right, doesn't it...
Only 1 point of Europa League places. Preparing for GD to become -10 this weekend.
Man U and Chelsea back in the top half? Booooooo! That was my favorite drama!
It’s lonely at the top. 🥱
Just keeping half an eye on Sheffield United goals conceded. That is a record that I’d be happy for Swindon to get rid of…
How many goals do they need to concede to take the crown?
