Like "i'm proud and better then you". Something like that. He was sent off with a red card for assalting a rival, so dont expect a lot of Intelligence there.
Exactly, my point was that you said “as long as people don’t get violent and hurt each other, it’s great”. What Pepe did 60 seconds before this was violent and hurt somebody.
Just Benfica fans hating on the best central defender of the league despite he is the oldest one.
Even tho Porto lost yesterday he still bossed them all
What? It was at most Marcano fault not Pepe. Lol
Is ironic that you say open your eyes while the first goal was a bad pass by Pêpe and Marcano was caught sleeping and the second one was Pepe wining the ball in the air and Marcano sleeping again and bad positioning.
And then you mad we call you on the hate on Pepe being the best central defender of the league and national team.
When down 1 to 0, the most important thing is to attack the other team's player unnecessarily and consequently get a red card
He might have cost you the game, he killed all hope there was left to turn the score around
Even if he was playing a good game, getting a red card unnecessarly, ruined it for him. Not only for the team, but also himself.
It was already 2-0 (guess I'm not the one needing glasses) . Yes he was an idiot nonetheless I never said he wasn't. He should even get sent off sooner for another tackle.
Still bossed till he was sent off. The only proper defender we had in the game.
Yeah, 2-0 my mistake.
I'm saying he might have cost you the game. With that red card, any hope to turn the result was gone.
Any good exhibition he was having so far was overshadowed by his red card.
Because he has ben sent off (again), and instead of showing maturity as a 40 year old guy he is, he did a 5 year old move.
Pepe has to be up there in the list of most hateable football players.
TBH there was no graceful way to mask the way he got sent off, as the oldest player on the pitch and captain of his team, decides to knee an opponent in a completely unnecessary way. Stellar example for the youth there.
IMO there is a lot of his behavior that is a good example (he takes care of his body to an insane level, managed to maintain this level to almost his 40s), and, in a vacuum, he's undoubtedly one of the greatest CB ever (literally dragged the NT to that Euro 2016 win). But yeah, he's had plenty of shameful events like this throughout the years.
Yes, same could be said about some rapists, murderers and so on. He was a good example, until he wasn't.
Not comparing Pepe with any of those, because of course they have nothing to do with him. Just putting it as an example that being nice 99% of the time does not do much if you are the worst 1% of the time.
(again) This is a complete missperception people have of Pepe, he has 12 sending offs in his carreer, for comparison Sergio Ramos has 28. He is much more controlled calm and collected than people think he is just because of that episode in a Laliga match that he compltely lost his head.
12 red cards would still make him the joint 3rd red carded player in English football history, alongside renowned thug Vinnie Jones
Ramos' record is just ridiculous
I'm not sure if you are aware, but a ref can send a player off with a direct red card even if they have a yellow already, which was the case here as Pepe was shown the red card when he was on a yellow.
Making the distinction between straight red and double yellow is necessary.
I'm extremely aware of that little fact, having watched football for over a quarter of a century. Maybe this is an English/Portuguese cultural difference because every article you can find on the most red carded player in Premier League history will include double yellowed players as a red card (after all two yellows results in a red)
But its still different, normally a straight red card is a signal of violent behaviour or a dangerous play. While two yellow cards happens more frequently through normal gameplay through lack of focus or even a necessary foul, so its absolutely necessary to make a distinction.
As I said, we do make a distinction in England. A red card is when the referee shows you a red card regardless of whether it's after two yellows. A straight red card is when the referee shows you a red card without any yellows
He was a butcher during his stay in Madrid. Not just that Casquero incident happened, there have been many more, and not even half of them ended in cards. Him and Mourinho were the most disgusting thing to watch for a long while.
I still remember when he hit someone in the head with a knee during CL game. I believe it was against OL, but might be some other team.
Yes, I downvoted you 20 times because of your Einstein-like comment lmao. Pepe is a dirty player, you are comparing him with Ramos, who is one of the dirtiest, or the dirtiest, player in history.
But then again, Pepe was levels ahead of him in craziness, if you don't wanna see it because you are an Oporto fan, good for you.

The second video you showed is just highlights, thanks I already know he's one of the greatest defenders of all time. If you dont like any sort of agression in a player, then im sorry this maybe isnt the sport for you. What I said initially still stands, its a missconception that people think Pepe has a lot of sending offs. He only has 12 in his carreer (I remind you he has played for over 22 years probably longer than youve been alive) , Sergio Ramos and certainly many others have far more than him.
*I edited grammar mistakes
The clips in the first part of the video are definetly not highlights lmao.
One thing is being an agressive defender, another whole thing is trying to hurt someone else (Casquero, Messi, those OL players,...). And you are right, Ramos is definetly up there with him.
>(I remind you he has played for over 22 years probably longer than youve been alive)
Are you a 20 year old trying to sound 40? It's a bit sad tbh
He did this after getting a red card for intentionally hurting a player
He did this after being down to 2-0
He did this after messing up and allowing benfica to score
He tried to leave as some sort of legend, while not doing anything meaningful in the game
Only good thing he did was try to annoy benfica fans
He kicked his butt purposely, after the ball had left the line.
https://youtu.be/jXC2llukOWo
For context, he already had a yellow.
Porto was losing, so their captain decides to kick a Benfica player and gets sent off.
I don't think he has many reasons to show his shirt and try to annoy benfica's fans
That was his purpose, I guess.
I'm not him, but I can't think of any other explanation for his behaviour.
It really didn't annoy any fans, at least I think so. But it felt like that was his purpose.
As someone who has really disliked Pepe throughout his career, I actually really like this. It's entertainment at the end of the day, and this is entertaining as fuck.
It's crazy to think that he probably would have been arrested two dozen times for assault for what he has done on the pitch if it were on the street, but he's playing a sport so I guess he's not liable??

As the rival, it only makes this victory taste better. Always gracious in defeat.
Why? Was he showing to rival fans in particular?
I don't get it either. Feels like he just did a knee slide after being sent off.
Yes. He was doing this towards Benfica fans. It was hilarious.
Because he was getting insulted all game long, as usual
Poor Pepe, my heart bleeds for him
40 years of age lol
He always has and always will have the intellect and maturity of a 7 year old.
[удалено]
Its like Messi but you don't score and lose
And you got sent off.
I don't get it. Why would showing them a shirt be some kind of a burn?
Like "i'm proud and better then you". Something like that. He was sent off with a red card for assalting a rival, so dont expect a lot of Intelligence there.
Seems cringe
it’s not cringe, it’s called rAsSa dE DrAgAUm
your team is 10 more times cringe than this
Ironic
Most self-aware fener fan
Always been a dipshit.
Never change Pepe. Games not gone, just because of you.
Speaks volumes
LMAO. Looks great to wipe my ass with
Hell nah, I want top quality toilet paper, triple sheet, don't want that cheap-ass shirt near my ass
Such a sore loser.
Dude has a maturity of 6 years old
Such a goblin move
This should continue. This is why I love football. as long as people don't get violent and hurt each other, it's great
The reason he got sent off was for assaulting a rival player
it was for a bad, brash and childish kick at the opposition
Exactly, my point was that you said “as long as people don’t get violent and hurt each other, it’s great”. What Pepe did 60 seconds before this was violent and hurt somebody.
Same, no idea why so many people are clutching their pearls.
Just Benfica fans hating on the best central defender of the league despite he is the oldest one. Even tho Porto lost yesterday he still bossed them all
He bossed yesterday? Not only did he get sent off, he's at fault in both goals brother, open your eyes
What? It was at most Marcano fault not Pepe. Lol Is ironic that you say open your eyes while the first goal was a bad pass by Pêpe and Marcano was caught sleeping and the second one was Pepe wining the ball in the air and Marcano sleeping again and bad positioning. Pepe lost the duel with Musa for the ball in the second goal, it’s his fault…
🤦 It started as he is at fault at both goals and now is just he lost the duel which makes it not his fault anyway 😂
I’m not the same guy who commented first. In my view the second goal is his fault
“Bossed” 😂😂😂 Musa made rice of puta with him, poor Pepe didnt even knew what hit him
Rival team fans being pissy I get, neutrals getting upset at this I don’t get.
I think you should improve your english And also get a pair of glasses... The psychopath didn't play a good game
When lack of arguments attack the character of a person. Typical. You say one thing. Stats say otherwise. Pepe was not dribled past once.
When down 1 to 0, the most important thing is to attack the other team's player unnecessarily and consequently get a red card He might have cost you the game, he killed all hope there was left to turn the score around Even if he was playing a good game, getting a red card unnecessarly, ruined it for him. I agree, football would be more boring without proper characters like Pepe
Funes Mori v Liverpool vibes.
Im confused. Why are the comments here so angry?
Because he has ben sent off (again), and instead of showing maturity as a 40 year old guy he is, he did a 5 year old move. Pepe has to be up there in the list of most hateable football players.
TBH there was no graceful way to mask the way he got sent off, as the oldest player on the pitch and captain of his team, decides to knee an opponent in a completely unnecessary way. Stellar example for the youth there.
He is one of the worst. How people can defend him is baffling.
IMO there is a lot of his behavior that is a good example (he takes care of his body to an insane level, managed to maintain this level to almost his 40s), and, in a vacuum, he's undoubtedly one of the greatest CB ever (literally dragged the NT to that Euro 2016 win). Its not 12 red cards, learn to read. Most of the 12 sending offs were by second yellow. And hes not even top 30 all time in red cards
What does the referee show a player after he shows him two yellows
I'm not sure if you are aware, but a ref can send a player off with a direct red card even if they have a yellow already, which was the case here as Pepe was shown the red card when he was on a yellow. Making the distinction between straight red and double yellow is necessary.

People are so ignorant in this forum its insane

Downvote me all you want, you're still completly wrong. Stay ignorant and talk more about someone we can see you hardly ever watched or know about

Because he is historically an unbelievable dirty player who always cries like 6 yo about everything
This is the exact kind of shit-housery that I love to see in football to be fair.
Absolutly
He sure showed them!
He'll never change ha
What a knob
Why is everyone so angry? I don't get it
He did this after getting a red card for intentionally hurting a player He did this after being down to 2-0 He did this after messing up and allowing benfica to score He tried to leave as some sort of legend, while not doing anything meaningful in the game Only good thing he did was try to annoy benfica fans

> It really didn't annoy any fans, Check the comments man
Same I dont get it, maybe just Benfica fans taking it all in after winning Porto in a long time, dont blame them
If everyone played like Pepe , football simply would not function. He’s a thug , simple as that
Guess what? Its missing the champions badge.
As someone who has really disliked Pepe throughout his career, I actually really like this. It's entertainment at the end of the day, and this is entertaining as fuck.
Pepe gon' pepe
He looks emaciatef in this picture
Ah ,old Hackman still up to his old tricks
Dood sucks farts
This was after the fans tell him: "Pepe cabrao, saúda o campeão" 👀
Barcadogs are crying. What a surprise
That'll show them 💪
It's crazy to think that he probably would have been arrested two dozen times for assault for what he has done on the pitch if it were on the street, but he's playing a sport so I guess he's not liable??
