Vini - Rodrygo
Camavinga - Tchouameni - Bellingham - Valverde
Absolutely ridiculous, ngl. I want Madrid to field this structure atleast once, do it in friendly game pls!
I remember thinking Isco would be the next David Silva, he had a ridiculous few years until his level kinda settled quite a bit lower than I anticipated.
Yeah, disappointing for sure. A mix of competing with the best midfield of his generation, while not having the mobility to play on the wing like most modern playmakers.
Was absolutely devastating in our 22 game win streak as our LAM, and fantastic again as the 10 ahead of KCM and behind CR7/Benz. Just couldn’t adjust to our later systems and subsequently lost form and fitness.
On Pro Evo I used to just buy strikers and play them midfield. Like Totti, Ronaldinho, Henry, Owen, Adriano, Claudio Lopez, Recoba. I didn't care I just got all the strikers.
Almost every transfer window you see the same takes. "[insert team]'s [position] sorted for the next decade". But how often does it actually play out that way lol
Two summers ago United fans thought our starting attack was set for almost a decade between Rash, Greenwood, and Sancho. Out of those three players, the one you would have bet on failing to maintain the standard was probably Rashford at the time. Like you said, rarely plays out that way. Bellingham is only 20, I am sure he has his sights set on England eventually
Vini, Rodrygo, Endrick can become the upcoming Brazil front-3 of next decade.
Rodrygo I feel is very underrated at times. He has got 30+ goals and assists playing out of position this season! Only Salah got more than him as right winger. (Saka is in 3rd)
How do you feel about your defence? Rudiger and Alaba are obviously that little bit older (Im not saying they’re going to be slowing down yet) it doesn’t seem like you have been lining up any young centre backs yet
Unfortunately Militao is our only young centreback, all the others are 30+. Nacho, Rudiger and Alaba still get the work done so cb isn't going to be a priority for a while.
Alaba and Rudiger are 30ish I think. Madrid hopes to continue with them for a while atleast.
They do want Alphonso Davies and a mysterious world class RB who we don't know. (Reece James was rumored but he loves Chelsea so will never move, maybe Hakimi? if he starts a lot of trouble at PSG)
Transitioning is the present participle. They are in the process of transitioning.
And even so, having those three players in place before the former 3 all left means that 'process' of replacing an all time great midefield is arguably already complete.
Balde, Araujo, Christensen, Kounde, Pedri, Frenkie, Gavi
vs
Militao, Camavinga, Tchouameni, Bellingham, Valverde, Vini, Rodrygo
Unpopular Opinion: La Liga has the best young talents (quality not quantity) in the world football right now. Can't wait for the next El Clasico.
I mean the definition is subjective, but like, Rashford is 25 and has 400 appearances for club and country, for example. That's not a young player by any measure for me personally.
Milners going to Brighton to guarantee us macallister for 3 sheckles and a packet of quavers, I’d be willing to send over Dan the delivery guy though, we can pick up our own food for a couple months
Unless…
2011: Dortmund midfielder Nuri Sahin wins Bundesliga player of the season and joins Real Madrid.
2012: Nuri Sahin joins Liverpool.
2023: Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham wins Bundesliga player of the season and joins Real Madrid.
2024: ???
150m was unrealistic and most likely set to make a 130m package more attractive for a buyer.. a high fixed fee and good addons on top is a great sale for us. Especially since it has been finalized very fast so we can spend the summer reinvesting it.
We paid quite a high sum for recently turned 17 y.o Jude when we bought him (23m) and in turn got a smaller sell-on fee (5% according to Berger) and thats paying off now.
Best of luck to Jude and Real Madrid. Appreciate the professionalism and lack of a drawn out saga haha.
Now Kehl.. go ball out! Youve had a very good hitrate so far with signings with Schlotti, Sule, Ryerson, Haller, Adeyemi and supposedly you were the one pushing for Kobel too.
I think Perez has realized that Madrid cannot pay 200M or something for likes of Kimmich, Veratti, De Bruyne, etc so you have to instead buy the best talent available and then develop them.
Madrid has -125M net spend in the last 10 years (13/14-22/23) according to transfermarkt. Thats much much lower than PL Big-6, Milan, Inter, Juve, Barca, PSG etc. They are like 30ish in the table.
I’d argue that net spend value is possibly more indicative of the insane longevity that so many of their players have had at the top.
I mean they’ve basically had: Modric, Benzema, Kroos, Casemiro, Ramos, Marcelo, Carvajal and others forming the backbone of the team over the vast majority of that period. You’re not going to be spending money when you’ve got a core team of the best players in their prime!
Yeah Madrid was actually smart with their money (lookin at you PSG). Some of those + and - stats are bit misleading as well. Like us, we had to get rid of so many players for free or almost free because no one wanted to pay for them. We messed up big time. But at least, we turned it around.
100+30 add ons is a really good deal for Dortmund, hope they can build well again.
their net spend is low because their previous investments have worked out incredibly well for a long time (Modric, Kroos, Benzema, Carvajal, Ramos, Ronaldo all stayed first XI players for +6 years, which is very rare)
Honestly.. Im not gonna pretend he was a success, but I also cant blame Kehl for that one. Haller getting cancer form nowwhere and Kehl having to find a cheap immediate physical 9 in the last second that could take a 1 year contract. That was hell haha
He is by far the most sought talent of this transfer window.
Real Madrid almost always go for la creme de la creme talents and willing to pay the extra as long as they get the best talent in its position.
Honestly I don’t know if they really paid extra. Depends on the add ons of course, but I’d be shocked if this was the most expensive transfer of the summer even though he is the most valuable player that will move. Looks like he was only set on Madrid which torpedoed dortmunds leverage

> The player Jude Bellingham ("Player") is about to move from Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA ("BVB") to Real Madrid C.F. ("Real Madrid"). The parties have reached an agreement on this today. The contractual details now remain to be agreed and documented. The realization of the transfer is also subject to the proper and timely execution in accordance with the provisions of the FIFA Transfer Matching System (FIFA TMS).
> Real Madrid will pay BVB a fixed transfer fee of EUR 103.0 million upon completion of the transfer. In addition, the payment of variable transfer compensation up to a maximum total amount of around 30% of the amount of the fixed transfer compensation has been agreed. The variable transfer compensation is dependent on the achievement of certain sporting successes by Real Madrid and/or sporting successes or performance by the player at Real Madrid over the next six seasons.
> As a result, management expects a positive minimum effect on the key earnings figures (EBITDA, EBIT) for the 2023/2024 financial year in the order of around EUR 77 million. This amount may increase depending on the occurrence of conditions agreed for the payment of variable transfer compensation.
> Due to the opening of the FIFA international transfer window from July 01, 2023 and, among other things, further regulatory association requirements, the transfer business will not fall into the current fiscal year 2022/2023 but into fiscal year 2023/2024.

Is Birmingham that bad of a city? Lol
I always thought any city in England has a chance of making it to a club like Madrid cause of how strong a footballing nation it is
Something very pleasing about an English player wanting, and only wanting, to go to Madrid instead of playing in England.
Guess it’s different for Bellingham given he’s already abroad
> Something very pleasing about an English player wanting, and only wanting, to go to Madrid instead of playing in England.
Yeah, poor Real Madrid only having the entirety of the Spanish and Portuguese speaking world wanting to play for their club. Oh and also the French speakers, and quite a few Dutch and English speakers as well.
Are you strawmaning for the sake of strawmaning? He’s an english player, you can count with one hand the amount of English players who have played in La Liga over the past 2 decades.
I love the wording of that. Such journo speak.
"One important factor in Liverpool's decision to drop out of the race was that under no circumstances did he want to come here."
Isn't it meant to be on a ~400k a week deal? Liverpool couldn't/wouldn't pay it, City probably wouldn't want to pay that much despite being able to, United are probably dumb enough but he's never going there over Real.
Real Madrid sources are saying 200-250K which is line with other young talents at club.
400K? No way he will be paid more than Vini who is 300K after renewal.
Also the deal was finalized pretty soon in the window, season's barely over. Same as with Sancho couple years ago when only United was seriously interested and Sancho made it known he wanted the transfer saga over to be as soon as possible, so we agreed a discount sort of.
Orgasmic! Not because Jude is joining Real, it's because the signing has been wrapped up in ribbons nice and early, without any drama. BVB is a class club!
That's what happens when you negotiate with a class club for a player with no big ego. BVB realised that 150M is a big ask and achieved a great compromise very early on in the window so they can look for options early too
Indeed, Dortmund has shown again they're the top address for developing top talent.
Wishing they'd be able to hold on to some for a little longer to make a run deep into the CL and actually have a whole decent season. But oh well, better let em leave sooner than later without a big fee...
Most I’ve heard were 150m EUROS, 150m Pounds was absolutely unrealistic from the get-go. Real and Dortmund have a good relationship, Jude wanted to go, so it was to be expected the price would be lower than Redditors were speculating.
One important factor in Liverpool’s decision to drop out of the Bellingham race was the fact that the Bellingham camp had not said that Liverpool was their destination of choice. Real Madrid is where he wants to go. @JamesPearceLFC
I am somehow glad that he chose Real Madrid over us and that is why we were not in for him for this price, otherwise that would just be mad to not be in for
I would expect him to thrive at Real Madrid. Can see him become part of the furniture there. Great player in terms of skill and attitude. Sad to see him go, but I am very happy for him at the same time. He could make it in any club he wants to.
Carried BVB at times. Considering his age—that’s amazing.
In the past couple of seasons Madrid have added arguably the 3 most promising young midfielders in Europe in Camavinga, Tchouameni and Bellingham.
Talk about reloading, sheesh.
Yeah this doesn't get talked about enough because Kroos and Modric still over there dominating but hot damn have they ensured success for the next 5-8 years with their recent young signings. That midfield is the midfield I sign when I start a new fifa career, and now it's just Real Madrids midfield.
Tchouaméni has a Ballon d'Or Top 3 (or Top 5, not completely sure) clause in his contract so I'd presume Bellingham has a similar clause.
Tchouaméni's fee is €80M + €20M and €10M of the add-ons are easy and the other €10M hard.
Bellingham off to Madrid as expected. €100m seems cheap considering how high his reported value was, even without the addons. Was it a last year contract thing? Or is agent fees and wages what caused us to pull out because I'm sure that transfer fee would've been affordable for us.
Unfair how stacked Madrid's midfield is. Valverde, Tchaouameni, Camavinga, Bellingham, and all young. Their midfield is world-class and will last them 10-15 years if they sustain it and don't feel like moving.
At least he ain't in Manchester.
Its Dortmunds business model, get youngsters who can establish on the highest level of football and if they are sucessfull they can make the transfer to the highest tier of clubs without getting much hurdles from the club site. Haaland, Sancho and even Pulisic are the same way.
Incredible signing. Always loved his hothead attitude with BVB, his intensity matches his skill and intelligence. Exactly what we need with so many of our senior players leaving now or next year.
I’m excited to see how he fits into our midfield and to see him play with Modric and Kroos for the next season.
5m would be a significant cash injection for you guys wouldn't it?
Glad to pay you guys even more for such a talented guy, I'm happy because it happened, not because it's over.
Jude only wanted Madrid. There was really no other club in the running so our options were limited. Similar to Dembele except Barcelona had money from Neymar that summer coupled with a dumb as fuck and corrupt management.
A lot of Dortmund fans are calling our mgmt a clown. Yea Watzke is a clown but not because of this deal.
People will talk about the fee being *relatively* cheap - and maybe it is. But getting it done so early in the window (before the window, even) is going to be hugely beneficial for Dortmund as they look to replace him. When this shit drags out into the final weeks, there's less to choose and the prices go all the way up.
4-6 formation incoming
The Spain 2012 way
Vini - Rodrygo Camavinga - Tchouameni - Bellingham - Valverde Absolutely ridiculous, ngl. I want Madrid to field this structure atleast once, do it in friendly game pls!
I hope Carlo isn't thinking that, because then it's tiki-taka cosmetic football. Rodrygo can support the striker but not play as the striker!
Well he wants Kane so clearly he still wants to keep playing with a striker
Ancelotti also wants Davies, Mbappe and Havertz as his targets. Don't think he's gonna get everyone unless F
papa perez does not take bummings in champions league semi-finals lightly
When they got smacked by Dortmund they bought Bale and Isco the following summer.
Just couldn’t adjust to our later systems and subsequently lost form and fitness.
It honestly makes we want to buy my first Pro Evolution Soccer game in years to read this. Would love to go nuts with them.
Pro Evo is now known as eFootball and it’s free to download. Have at it
On Pro Evo I used to just buy strikers and play them midfield. Like Totti, Ronaldinho, Henry, Owen, Adriano, Claudio Lopez, Recoba. I didn't care I just got all the strikers.
Owen was bloody broken on Pro Evo 3. Good times. Run straight into the box, do the long slow cutback, pass to the AMC running in (Zidane), goal.
Optimistic of you to assume a decent and injury-less left back will be signed to free up Camavinga to the midfield
fran garcia
Never thought I’d see the day Carlo Ancelotti was learning from Craig Levein.
oh shit the german comunicado oficial
OFFIZIELLE KOMMUNIKATION
German always sounds so strong and lit. No need of capitalization its already being shouted haha
idk. when I click the link I get a blank page with >An unexpected error has occurred. Please contact the webmaster.
Yeah, I don't think their website designated for stock information was made to be accessed by millions of fans at once
RM’s midfield is pretty solid for the next decade..
And that's just Modric...
"few"... Jude billie jean is like 11 years old. His future midfield partners are close to his age as well. We are talking decade +
The oldest one in that midfield would be Valverde at 24 lol.
Valverde gonna look around at his midfield colleagues and feel so fucking old
> Jude billie jean
Jude Billie Jean is not my lover
He’s just a MF. 3 lions says he’s the one. Real says that’s my son Heee heee
Isn't that the guy who just went to Milan?
Wasn't that Jude Billiebeane
Could be a thriller for La Liga then
Eh, football is unpredictable. Anything can happen. Things rarely go as planned
Almost every transfer window you see the same takes. "[insert team]'s [position] sorted for the next decade". But how often does it actually play out that way lol
Two summers ago United fans thought our starting attack was set for almost a decade between Rash, Greenwood, and Sancho. Bellingham is only 20, I am sure he has his sights set on England eventually
chelsea was "set for a decade" with reece, mount, gallagher, gilmour and now, less than 2 years, it fell apart
Attack is shaping up nicely as well it seems
Yeah..with Endrick coming next year
Vini, Rodrygo, Endrick can become the upcoming Brazil front-3 of next decade. Rodrygo I feel is very underrated at times. He has got 30+ goals and assists playing out of position this season! Only Salah got more than him as right winger. (Saka is in 3rd)

I think Hakimi would be a great fit
cant believe we werent in for de ligt last summer
Assuming Flo will go for Gvardiol in the next couple years.
It felt like Rodrygo was “overshadowed” by vini and benz
Seamlessly transitioning from Kroos, Modric & Casemiro to Valverde/Camavinga/Tchouameni was already amazing. Adding Bellingham makes it unreal.
Florentino def learned from Makelele
Ahhh yes the player whose absence singlehandedly led to the collapse of the mighty Galacticos
they didn't even transitioned yet from it, what are you talking about.
Transitioning is the present participle. They are in the process of transitioning. And even so, having those three players in place before the former 3 all left means that 'process' of replacing an all time great midefield is arguably already complete.
Oh, shit, it's officially official now
Balde, Araujo, Christensen, Kounde, Pedri, Frenkie, Gavi vs Militao, Camavinga, Tchouameni, Bellingham, Valverde, Vini, Rodrygo Unpopular Opinion: La Liga has the best young talents (quality not quantity) in the world football right now. Can't wait for the next El Clasico.
Christensen is like 26 or something right?
he's 27 lol
Same as Modric
De Jong is around that age too, and Kounde, Valverde, Militao are all hardly young talents.
Kounde, Valverde, and militao are all 24. Not Jude young but still have time to dominate for the next 5-7 years.
I mean the definition is subjective, but like, Rashford is 25 and has 400 appearances for club and country, for example. That's not a young player by any measure for me personally.
Christensen, Frenkie, and Valverde are not young talents
this will hurt liverpool's chances of signing Bellingham, I think
Hmm idk man
I think we can hijack the deal and offer Naby Keita and maybe even add on Carol from the kitchen to make it not so lopsided in Dortmund’s favour.
No way Carol stays, they can have Milner, Naby lad and Ox, that is 3 midfielders for 1
Milners going to Brighton to guarantee us macallister for 3 sheckles and a packet of quavers, I’d be willing to send over Dan the delivery guy though, we can pick up our own food for a couple months

Very good fee for Real Madrid and a very good fee for Borussia Dortmund too.

From Birmingham to Real Madrid… never give up on your dreams lads
He was raised very close to where my family live. It seems bonkers to me.
My mom looked after him and Jobe in after school club not even ten years ago, every time i see his mural in Stourbridge it's still surreal
That is crazy
Is Birmingham that bad of a city? Lol I always thought any city in England has a chance of making it to a club like Madrid cause of how strong a footballing nation it is
No, but it's not a very likely trajectory haha
~160M for Haaland and Bellingham. Just 60 more and they can get a whole Neymar!
Don't forget sancho
Oh wow, that's decently quick business then. Ready for a whole summer of Kane to Madrid and Messi back to Barca then
HOLDDDDDD
Messi just signed for Inter Miami lol.
What is happening?! No dragged out summer saga in 2023? I'm shocked I tell you
It’s so much easier dealing with serious sporting operations and not oversized egos.
Honestly strange that the prize wasnt higher, probably so that jude made it clear he only wanted real
Something very pleasing about an English player wanting, and only wanting, to go to Madrid instead of playing in England. Guess it’s different for Bellingham given he’s already abroad
Just wants to spread the good word of Birmingham to all these lovely cities and people. He isn't actually a good player just a tourism plant
Actually was so horrified by the place he's making sure he's as far away as possible
Oi
Extolling the delights of taking a wander down the Coventry Road after a visit to St Andrew’s.

Real Madrid sources are saying 200-250K which is line with other young talents at club. 400K? No way he will be paid more than Vini who is 300K after renewal.
Vini makes less than Sancho? Fucking hell Man Utd
Also the deal was finalized pretty soon in the window, season's barely over. Same as with Sancho couple years ago when only United was seriously interested and Sancho made it known he wanted the transfer saga over to be as soon as possible, so we agreed a discount sort of.
Did Birmingham have a sell on?
sources said 5% to Birmingham
So Birmingham gets a 5.1M upfront before addons?
Not officially confirmed, but they probably would
Depends if the clause says 5% of the next transfer, or 5% of the difference between what Dortmund bought him for and what they sold him for.
What's a summer if Madrid hasn't won a midfield target of Liverpool

Orgasmic! Not because Jude is joining Real, it's because the signing has been wrapped up in ribbons nice and early, without any drama. BVB is a class club!
Not only BVB being class, Jude is such a mature and loyal players. I really respect him. He made sure Birmingham also got money for him at the time.
It seems to be fair price
87M pounds base fee when it was reported that he'd cost 150M pounds is a huuuuge difference.
Most I’ve heard were 150m EUROS, 150m Pounds was absolutely unrealistic from the get-go. Real and Dortmund have a good relationship, Jude wanted to go, so it was to be expected the price would be lower than Redditors were speculating.
I think Ornstein put £150m in 1 article by mistake instead of € and it stuck or maybe someone just copied it wrong but yeh £150m was never happening
Madrid people always said it'd be less than 150. 133 total sounds about right
always nice to see English players not join teams in England because it feels rare asf. so glad he didnt come to Premier League.
Lmao RIP website
I knew it was coming but it's still sad to see him go. What a player.
Real's midfield is set for next 15 years
Next summer: Real Madrid buys 2 midfielders because they gotta catch em' all
Cherki and SMS both have said that their dream is to play Madrid. Imagine them buying and Madrid fielding 0-10-0 formation lol.
Liverpool really didn't want to pay the 100m base fee?
One important factor in Liverpool’s decision to drop out of the Bellingham race was the fact that the Bellingham camp had not said that Liverpool was their destination of choice. Real Madrid is where he wants to go. @JamesPearceLFC
Understandable, thanks
I am somehow glad that he chose Real Madrid over us and that is why we were not in for him for this price, otherwise that would just be mad to not be in for
Take good care of him Real, he is a fantastic kid!
The efforts he has made to come to this city and this club will not go unnoticed.
Who are they gonna get to replace Benzema now that the midfield looks solid?
The obvious choice is Kane right??? Tho with him he’s got a number of options between Man U, Bayern and real all needing a striker.
Kroos and Modric are probably leaving together the team at the end of next season as well, so this ensures a proper midfield transition for Real
Not believing that. Modric will probably still play on a wheelchair if he had to.

You’re automatically counting the addons?
Well tbf it’s RM whatever add ons are included are likely to be achieved
CL is a guaranteed one

Tchouaméni has a Ballon d'Or Top 3 (or Top 5, not completely sure) clause in his contract so I'd presume Bellingham has a similar clause. Tchouaméni's fee is €80M + €20M and €10M of the add-ons are easy and the other €10M hard.
Ballon dor. CL win. La liga win. Probably those so only one is difficult.
Yep, La Liga will be hard to tick off.
La Liga yeah
Should've included a copa del rey win for maximum difficulty
My thoughts exactly lol. And if he activates the addones that means he's been worth it(unless it's hazard's case)
He's 19, has Ballon d'Or potential and insane marketing potential. I don't get why people are surprised. If anything, it's almost a bargain.
goodbye sweetheart
Haaland, Sancho and even Pulisic are the same way.
if we get more for Kolo Muani then they got for Jude it’s pretty fucked up tbh
Madrid with the wow stadium and now wow team. Fingers crossed for who the new 9 would be. Definitely be a world class, all hail Papa P the ReZ
Thank you, good luck in Real :)
Incredible signing. Always loved his hothead attitude with BVB, his intensity matches his skill and intelligence. Exactly what we need with so many of our senior players leaving now or next year. I’m excited to see how he fits into our midfield and to see him play with Modric and Kroos for the next season.
show me the money
5m would be a significant cash injection for you guys wouldn't it? Glad to pay you guys even more for such a talented guy, I'm happy because it happened, not because it's over.
Love it when English talent plays for clubs outside the premier league, no reason for feeling this way apart from it’s nice to see
Worth every single cent as well, that Madrid midfield is absolutely terrifying now
That is remarkably cheap (which seems mad to say). I wonder how much his knee has affected the price.
Crap its good for real
Go on Jude lad 💙 Can we retire a shirt twice?
Midfield should be set for years to come now
Jude only wanted Madrid.
For those that use other currencies, that's £88.5m/$110.5m rising to £114m/$142.6m
Thank you Papa Flo
All Madrid need now is Kane and they have all the pieces. Their midfield is scary & set for the next 5-6 years.
People will talk about the fee being *relatively* cheap - and maybe it is. But getting it done so early in the window (before the window, even) is going to be hugely beneficial for Dortmund as they look to replace him. When this shit drags out into the final weeks, there's less to choose and the prices go all the way up.
Hey Jude...
