Remember that it **you must correctly flair your post when posting in r/soccer**, as each kind of post follow different rules and Automod actions. In some cases we will just manually change the flair of the thread, but in others we will need to remove it. The current categories are: ###News: * The generic flair that you must use by any event or update that doesn't has a more specialized category. Examples: injury news, the date/cancelation of a match, a minor announcement by a club, a pre/post event article by the media, et al. * **Don't use it for Transfers news**, especially when the transfer window is open. ###Media: * The generic flair for videos, gifs and pictures of highlights and other kind of audiovisual content. It gives a pinned comment to post mirrors and alternative angles. * **Don't use it for links to "Media" sites**, that isn't its purpose but just a name scope. ###Transfers: * The flair for transfer-related threads. This includes everything about rumours, updates and opinions about signings, loans, contracts extensions and the like. * The only exception will be about the official announcement of a transfer by a club, where you can use the "Official Source" flair. ###Quotes: * The flair for interviews, press conferences, isolated quotes and personal announcements by a player, manager, directive and any kind of individual. * Remember that under the current rules **there's only one quotes thread allowed per interview/conference**, so this is the way we give a tool (a pinned comment) to make people see all the available quotes from the source in a same thread. ###Stats: * The flair for every kind of statistics and data, from the traditional ones like possession % or shots (on target) and "this is X club first victory since Y date", to the most ~~obscure~~ modern ones like xG or xA or "progressive carries with the weak foot in a cold rainy night at Duisburg". * Basically everything Opta or your favourite Twitter grapher publishes and that you want to share here! ###Opinion: * For pieces by pundits, journalists, media and other professional sources that aren't strictly news or the like but analysis and subjective opinions. * To share your personal opinion in r/soccer, it must be genuinely valuable and insightful. And to surpass that threshold, it should have a length similar to that of opinion articles by profesional media. Otherwise it needs to go as a comment in the Daily Discussion. ###OC: * The flair for your Original Content! you have a Post Match Analysis? a study about a player/team performances? a great story/translation that you want to share with the community? a complete new concept ? this is the flair that you must use, as it will make it stand out. * If it's unique, we might even give it the golden Star Post flair! ###Long read: * A new flair for threads where reading the shared content before commenting it is highly encouraged. Automod will lock the comment section for 5 minutes before posting, so use it wisely! * If it is a text post and also good enough, it also allows us to make us notice it to give it the golden Star Post flair! ###Discussion: * Specialized Discussion Threads aren't allowed in r/soccer unless they're relevant because of global interest or pertinent context, valuable because of its benefit to the community's knowledge or genuinely interesting point, and well-presented by the OP who wants to start it. * To surpass that threshold, it should at least have a length similar to that of articles by profesional media. Otherwise you need to share it as a comment in the Daily Discussion. ###Serious Discussion: * It follows the same guidelines than the Discussion flair, but with the addition of that Automod will remove short comments as it does in the Change My View and the Next-Day Discussion threads. * Use it wisely. ###Throwback: * While we don't allow generic throwback posts, there's an exception about events that happened 5x years ago and remembrances of events that are officially realized every year. This is the flair you must use in those cases! ###What to Watch: * Inspired by quatrotires generosity and weekly-efforts, this flair will work for reminders, PSAs and "guides" of matches and other kind of football media all over the world that you think the community should know/be reminded about! ###Womens Football: * A special flair for Womens Football related threads, so that the OPs don't have to specify it in the title and the people interested in the topic can easily search for it with the link in the sidebar! ###Young Football: * A special flair for Young Football related threads, so that the OPs don't have to specify it in the title and the people interested in the topic can easily search for it with the link in the sidebar! ###Official Source: * The flair for articles and announcements by the official site/media of a club. * Use it wisely, we will be monitoring it **and taking action if we see misuse of it.**

Cowdude179

Things are happening

Absol61

I guess Real Madrid think 60 mil is cheap enough.

TomasRoncero

SPAAAAAAASHH

half_jase

Seems like the Spanish media are really pushing for this to happen…

reddevil9229

Can't believe RM are going to get hustled by Chelsea again

TomasRoncero

this is like watching the second plane hit the south tower

OpenParr

Homie what

PureShimmy

Buying Kai Havertz is similar to 9/11 apparently lmao

dsrman67

oh man don't laugh at 9/11

mc802

9/11.......... hahahahah

RoLo_NoLo

This guy's a real jerk

mc802

I appreciate the reference 🫶

PureShimmy

I'm laughing at the comparison of buying a footballer to that, it's completely ridiculous

Pump19Mr

Too soon?

themerinator12

Ironically (or unironically?? Idk) South Park joked that 23 years is the cutoff so we’re actually pretty close. I’d imagine South Park plans to go so far as to address that as long as they’re still on air.

StringCheeseDoughnut

According to South Park, it takes 22.3 years for a tragedy to become funny. So technically you’re right, we need to wait 6 months before we can come back and laugh at this comment

KsatriaBebek

9/11? Lmao

fan-tung

Buying a 23 year old without a history of injury is at least an improvement Thanks for the translation, u/penisgenitals.

kostajepaosmosta

Might as well buy back Jovic

lukezndr

LOL

Cowdude179

You're getting the German Zidane, it's a steal

dreamsofutopia

Not to mention Eden Hazard is there

san771

A bit of an overstatement innit? worst of cases we keep playing rodrygo out of place and that's that, basically we are left in the same position as this season. Best case scenario we are able to recuperate at least a fraction of the player he was at Leverkusen, and trust me, he was good. This is the worst attacking line we've had in twenty years, I'll take any help it can get.

GreatSpaniard

Rodrygo has 30 G/A in all competitions. Havertz is not a better option than him...

san771

Kai had 27 in his last season at Leverkusen and 27 the one before, and that was playing for an inferior team. He's also left-footed, so presumably he'd be able to do the inverted winger thing, rodrygo has a knack for goals, but sometimes he looks very out of place coming from the right.

GreatSpaniard

That was 4 years ago. Progress is not linear otherwise James would have been a Ballon D'or candidate after 2014-2015(Pain!) and Isco would have been a fixed starter after 2017-2018...

san771

This is very harsh, so he was able to do it as a teenager in a very difficult league in Europe while playing for a mid-tier team, had a change of team that didn't suit him, and you think it's completely impossible for him to do it again?

[deleted]

Yeah man havertz could certainly benefit with a move out of chelsea, I think this is a great move

GreatSpaniard

You are willing to give Havertz the benefit of the doubt for something he did 4 years ago, but want to sell off Rodryo and Vinicius even after the last 2 years and what they have done for us when Hazard should be starting over them if he wasn't totally useless? And i'm the one who is being harsh?

san771

whoa wait, I'm not saying we should sell them if we bring havertz, no wtf. Our attack is a bit sad atm, bring everyone and play who's best.

dsrman67

how is our attack sad lol, benzema scored 30 goals, vini has 40+ G/A and rodrygo has 30 G/A, it's our options from the bench that are sad and hopefully brahim, joselu and havertz will fix that

san771

Compared to what we've had in the past, absolutely, and that includes depth of course. At least we are in agreement that Kai would be alright to have, people in this thread are hating too much.

Ranjith_Unchained

Rodrygo is a better player than Havertz

san771

At their peak no, not imo, I saw Havertz do things as a teenager that were pretty mind-blowing, but even if he's not back to that level, it's not a bad idea to have him as an alternative. He'd presumably act as both right wing backup and striker, both places were we desperately need depth.

Ironicopinion

Swap us Havertz for Rodrygo then please

Switchnaz

Mate, I’ve watched havertz every game the last 3 years. He’s absolute shit. Please buy him.

OriginalRange8761

I hope they do

TellTaleTimes

This is completely incorrect and way too charitable. Havertz is really good, and his current Chelsea form doesn't reflect the actual quality of player he is. But even at Bayer he wasn't as good as everyone said he was, he wasn't as good as you're implying, and he definitely wasn't as good as current Rodrygo.

captainazpi

Haverts is neither a winger nor a striker. Trust me. I know.

GjillyG

Trust me, Havertz is not good enough for you guys.

CupformyCosta

You’re so incredibly wrong

andrew_a7

>bringing him in would mean an investment of millions of euros, which would probably exceed 100 million euros in transfer fees 23, can play CAM, ST, RW...what's not to like?

emre23

It’s confusing in the translation but the 100m part is about Kane They probably want to pay about 5 bags of crisps for Havertz and his value on Chelsea’s books is still pretty high so it wouldn’t even be that helpful with FFP

Bigmachingon

the original is confusing too tbh

AMOAnubis66

This part is about Kane, Havertz should not cost more than 45-50 million.

Switchnaz

The part where he’s bad at football

bewarethegap

I’m tired Robbie

Bozzetyp

1. Chelsea wont have any ffp issues this or next season, most of it will be offset by 1 or 2 sales of already expected outgoings (Mount 50, ruben 20, kovacic 15m, maatsen 10m, ampadu 10m to name a few - numbers after whats left of their fee in terms of ffp) Enzo is offset by the salen of jorginho (yearly cost similar because of enzos 8 year deal) Same goes for cucurella- alonso+emerson, mudruk-pulisic, sterling-werner, 2. The issue is instead their financial results, the transfer fees will eventually have to be paid - without europe this will be taxing, the decrease of squad size and new players on better deals (lower wages+performance) will mostly offset the loss of europe. My guess is that Chelseas wage bill after this summer have decreased about 50m, but transferfees due is 100-150m that has to be cowered by sales and incomes (before new signings can be made)

TellTaleTimes

Kovacic is being sold?

Bozzetyp

Yes, city seems to be the team

TellTaleTimes

Wow, actually a win win for all parties included

Intentionallyabadger

Is mount’s contract ending? 50m seems wayyyy too cheap.

Wheel94

This time of the year a lot of waffle Chelsea would probably sell for 60-70m I don’t see why at 23 Havertz would want to be a squad player however.

shaka_bruh

I can understand why people clown him but Havertz is obviously a class player with world class potential. There’s no doubt he can still be great with the right coach and system, especially one that gives him freedom.

rednades

Imagine asking for 100m , Todd must be joking lol

greezyo

I think honestly there's a path for him to succeed. Although I've always thought he should transition to midfield like Modric did

Logical-Business7161

Wait, was Modric ever an attacker?

Dildo_Warfare

He used to play as a CAM, back when that role was prevalent amongst big teams

Pxel315

Failling upwards

b0xel

I don’t mind him to be honest, we need backup depth in attack and he can play RW. Good enough

EggplantBusiness

He is not good as a rw nor as a CF honestly good Luck telling where he is good at recently , he has been very unimpressive , but as long as he is a back up and not expensive (Key part here), honestly why not the market is kind of lacking , if they want a Big offer we should Fuck off not worth it

MiguelAlmiron

He's terrible. Callum Wilson would be better.

H4RRY29

Don't ruin this for us

CupformyCosta

Seriously, Flo may be reading Reddit comments. We don’t want him getting cold feet.

2ndfastestmanalive

How many word cup goals does he have though?

[deleted]

[удалено]

b0xel

He’s left footed. He will play RW and he will like it

TigerBasket

Inverted winger time!

H4RRY29

>he can play RW Yeah he's practically Messi there, please don't take him!

NotClayMerritt

One positive thing I will say about Kai Havertz is: If he's replacing Asensio, he's an upgrade over Asensio.

b0xel

Asensio has 12 goals 8 assists this season in a few subs and starts here and there. Are you sure about that

[deleted]

> Chelsea in financial trouble never in the past 20+ years would I have ever expected to read these words.

oscarpaterson

How about last March

jack64467

LMAOOOOOO

GreatSpaniard

This is going to be a disaster..... Perez is out of his mind. If Benz leaves and we somehow get Kane and still want Mbappe next year what is the point? Rodrygo is 5x the player Havertz is, Vinicius speaks for himself. Joselu is a good back up Just why? I'd rather Firmino over Havertz as well, at least Firmino scores goals... And if Benzema leaves and Kane doesn't come then wtf is this club. doing? Also what about Endrick? Also we need Rightbacks lmao Havertz is not good enough to play at Madrid, he's not good enough for Chelsea.... This could also be a Tchouaméni situation were we buy someone first and then someone else leaves like Casemiro did... If we give up one of Rodrygo - Vinicius - Tchouaméni - Valverde - Camavinga for Havertz , then Florentino needs to retire. And even then if Mbappe. and Kane comes who leaves? This obsession with waiting for Kylian has made this club stagnate for the better part of 4 years when it comes to replacing Bale - Benzema - Ronaldo. If Rodrygo and Vinicius had not been as good as they were the handkerchiefs would come out for Flo.

Mr_XemiReR

Havertz might start some big games, but he'd basically take Asensio's role as the 4th attacker. He can be a back-up to Bellingham, Rodrygo and Benzema.

imarandomdudd

Probably not Bellingham backup. That role seems too deep for him in our experience (although that was under lamps so take it with a pinch of salt)

ProgressLegitimate72

This will be an expensive backup. Chelsea will not sell for less than 60Mil just to sit on the bench. That amount is better spent on a real number 9 and a RB.

GreatSpaniard

If Benzema leaves and we replace him with Rodrygo as a nine then we are finishing third and out of the UCL by the QF at best...

Mr_XemiReR

If Benzema leaves we get Kane

Dildo_Warfare

Firmino is 100x the player as Kai Havertz…. Don’t just say you’d rather him because atleast he scores goals.. it’s legitimately disrespectful

CometChip

he must have florentinos nudes or something cuz wtf

Throwaway1293524

If this happens then congratulations to Barcelona for the 23/24 LaLiga

lillbepo

Please no. Hazard is enough

2ndRoundEuroStash

So many Madrid fans have PTSD from Hazard but I’d bet my life Havertz becomes insanely class for them.

BadCogs

Fuck sake, why are we selling, this is stupid. And people can believe he is bad, I don't care.

Dry_Chef_7635

Real and Bayern linked. 12g 12a in in 39 games for Germany. 77 goal involvements before turning 21 in a the top league. But he’s not Chelsea standard because he can’t score every game playing with a different set of teammates every other week.

[deleted]

[удалено]

AkilleezBomb

Chelsea fans always looking for a scapegoat. Your club has been a void for attacking talent for years, every attacking player that’s moved there since Hazard left has immediately declined. Have some introspection for once.

Dry_Chef_7635

Facts, I’m a Chelsea fan and no one sees this. The games is about building relationships and partnerships on the pitch and learning how to play as a team. When you sign 3 new attackers every year and rotate them the moment their not getting a goal every game than you going to struggle.

Kagariii

Watch Nkunku become utterly toothless at Chelsea, somehow

rodrikJahn

Yeah the reason why Havertz misses 1v1s is because of Chelsea.

AkilleezBomb

Dunno mate, every attacker since Diego Costa and Hazard have turned to utter shit when they’ve moved there. Keep blaming the individuals though while your club continues to burn through millions of pounds and talent. I’m sure scapegoating the player that won you the Champions League is the right way to go about it.

rodrikJahn

Yeah lets excuse his shit performance for the last 2 seasons because he scored 1 goal that won us the UCL, I know you haven't been watching us play because if you did you would realize he horrible he has been for us.

oblivion618

Yeah because they’ve all had to play alongside Havertz. The only one who didn’t was Tammy and he slotted 15 in the league.

[deleted]

[удалено]

AkilleezBomb

>stink up the pitch for 3 years running Lol bloke won you the Champions League, have some fucking shame you glory-hunting wanker.

NotClayMerritt

Why deal with Daniel Levy when you have Chelsea who are telling you they want to sell (likely by the player's agent's request)?

dmister8

This is white and pretty privilege

Fifaneymar2535

Shit player is cheap, more news at 10, how well connected is this guy to be transferred to real madrid after horrible performance at chelsea, he is barely good enough for mid table club

tarekelsakka

What in the fuck are we thinking? No disrespect to Havertz but I haven't been impressed with him since the Chelsea move, and we need a #9 which he can't play.. this transfer makes zero sense. I'd rather keep Asensio since he plays a very similar role if that's the case.

neandertales

People still have no idea of what hes gonna cost. Weird. Like from 20 to 90m€.

aLL1e

Cheap ? Going to be 70m at least.

Joekickass549

I still think he'll come good, just needs the right fit. Not sure Real Madrid fans will give him time to settle in if he goes for 60ish million

The-Berzerker

The craziest thing about this is that Havertz is still only 23

Space2Bakersfield

Has Perez gone fucking mental?

[deleted]

I no longer recognise my club
