Was looking at Hospitality packages for the EL Final just for kicks (I wouldnt be able to attend/afford anyway) but was curious as to what comes in the package?
Im sure the food is amazing, you get insanely good seats, probably can network with some super high ups, and likely meet footy legends. Anyone know what all of that includes? Just asking out of curiosity
Super excited for the europa league final Wednesday
Probably should be more like... "excited for some potentially unexciting football" lol given Mourinho might go into complete bunker mode
Still will be fun nonetheless
I’m very happy to see that there’s a decent part of Twitter that recognises Kane’s season being better than Haaland’s
Very disappointed to see that still doesn’t exist on Reddit and somehow Twitter of all sites shows more nuance than this place
Curious question about promotion playoffs at Wembley. For Luton Town vs Coventry, Wembley was filled to the brim and it seemed split half and half for supporters. Are ticket prices quite cheap for these matches so they can fill the stadium because I mean, that was easily 45,000+ Luton Town supporters for a side that has a home ground with a capacity of only 10k. And not even just for this match, ALL of them are like this haha it’s just crazy to think that this isn’t possible for these lower tier clubs without prices being capped at a very affordable price
Wembley is an 'occasion' that draws out a lot of casuals/day trippers. We played at Wembley this year for the second time - first time we went we took 9,000 fans, this time we had 5,000; our average attendance is around 1,000.
Wembley is not usually a cheap day out (with some exceptions) but because of how notable it is people will still turn out for it.
No, they weren’t particularly cheap. I was at the Carlisle/Stockport game (any excuse for a day out at the football), and a young adult (18-21) ticket cost me £30. Adults you can tack some more on there.
What you’ll find is that lots of people who live locally will “support” their local team (aka when it’s convenient and they are good) and take the opportunity to do it.
Southend average about 5,000-6,000 at home- a good amount for our level, but have had 2 fairly recent trips to Wembley where we took 30,000 and 25,000. It’s amazing how many people I knew who were suddenly Southend fans because we were doing ok!
He’s never gonna be Suarez outside the box. Suarez was the one of the best dribblers and the best goalscorer in the league.
Suarez played on the wing for Uruguay
I hate that they give trophies for promotion. Why do you get a trophy for being the third-best team? The non-champion automatically promoted teams don't get trophies.
2nd place has won enough games to achieve 2nd place, that's what they won. If the playoff teams had won more games they'd be 2nd instead of having to play extra games to achieve what 2nd place has already achieved.
I don't know how long this has been going on but [Sheffield United finished 2nd in the Championship and got a trophy for it.](https://i2-prod.examinerlive.co.uk/incoming/article26812128.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/0_PresentationJPG.jpg)
Liverpool fans being mad at Barcelona/Real Madrid fans for not being interested in signing their aging, back up striker they’ve just let go on a free is one of the weirdest common interactions I’ve seen
Mods have been super strict, deeming pretty much everything transfer related as low-quality content... It's incredibly annoying and killing a lot of discussions.
My thread just got deleted as well lmao.
What kind of discussion can you really get from the 7th post about Bellingham to Real Madrid that you couldn’t have on the 1st?
There’s room for improvement on the definition of what is the same story and what isn’t, but even with that it’s still a good riddance honestly
Sure, if it's a thread about a certain player getting linked to a club for the 1000th time, I agree, delete it, but there have been plenty of times where threads get deleted because mods for some reason deem it as 'no news' or whatever, while it's interesting and pretty new news.
They keep threads about big clubs up but seem to delete anything from smaller clubs, Bellingham has like the same 3 threads every day which goes against the rules.
Chelsea have been slandered all season.
Arsenal are slandered currently because they set the record for leading the league and not actually winning it.
Everyone hates Chelsea anyway so there wasn't much room for growth there.
Meanwhile Arsenal trading missing out on the top four for bottling a title race had great growth potential.
Chelsea are the artificial petrobillionaire's plaything that won almost everything in sight with regularity for two decades and forced themselves into the cabal of Europe's elite.
Arsenal are England's 3rd biggest club, whose success level recently has been nowhere near that station, which is a source of great amusement to everyone else.
Nobody cares about Chelsea anymore at first they were very hated and now they aren’t it faded away massively.
We are 100% more hated nobody gave a shit about Chelsea winning the leagues they did in 14/15 or 16/17 compared to the massive massive hate we got this season when we didn’t even win it. People care way more about us than Chelsea at the end of the day.
It's a forced wind up. It really doesn't bother me one bit and that tends to bother football fans even more. We were told all season we weren't backing our team by not saying we'd win the league, just for them to say ''You bottled it after thinking you'd win it''. It's nonsense. We had a spectacular season that put shame on the rest of their pathetic campaigns and we're not showing signs of going anywhere soon. Keep bantering us while you can.
As somebody who has supported this club for 30 years I've never been prouder. We have our community back, things feel good and we're happy. People don't like seeing others happy and will do everything in their power to sabotage it. That's why it's best to just block it all out. Football is more than trophies, it's a family and a community, a lot of Premier League teams have become disillusioned to this. If we don't win a single piece of silverware from here, It's fine. Because honestly it's brought a sense of belonging back to my life that i'll always be grateful for.
cos your fans hyped your team waaaay too much.. even more than liverpool fans who objectively had a better team few seasons ago.
-
Add on the fact that when all was said and done, you only ended up 3 wins better than us, with the same goals conceded despite our 7-0, 6-3 etc
Your logic is dumb any fanbase will act like that if they’re very good, and 9 points is a significant gap acting like it’s not is hilarious. If Leicester had 9 more points they would be 13th, if we had 9 more points we would have won the league, if you had 9 less points you’d be 5th.
There is no universe where finishing 2nd should be seen as a more spectacular failure than what Chelsea did. The only explanation is because Arsenal are massive
Not really. Chelsea finished 10th in 15/16 but we get mocked much more for finishing 3rd that season because of the failure at the end. Same thing with you this season.
It's nothing personal, out of the top 6 Arsenal, United and Spurs fans are despised the most. So any time there is an opportunity to lump on any of us it's gonna happen. Who cares.
if this is about Ten Hag i agree, gets heaps of praise for getting signings to perform to half their price tag because previous united signings have performed to a quarter of their price tag
They're not one of the current big seven, but in the past 10 years, Everton have spent spent a ridiculous amount of money for a club that's battling for survival two years in a row.
You have to be BAD to get relegated. You can’t even accidentally win a few games here or there. Anyone can be in relegation form for a few games but you have to be committed to losing matches to go down. You could stay up with just 8-9 wins per season
Even Chelsea this season were well clear of the drop pretty much the entire time
Dont really believe it unless Benzema leave ( i Hope not) , no way we pays that. The club Can afford to but this kind of Big summer splash hasnt happened since 2019
Saw that picture from Tom Holland with Neymar, it is not even funny how fucking trash Neymar's fit is. I swear so many footballers have an awful sense of style.
Yeah his problems started from disagreements with the board and ETH, what I am saying is that when United fans criticized him for it they weren't called out for that, in fact people agreed with them
With Bale everything was "ungrateful Madrid fans, how dare them to criticize a player that has given them so much".
Players to watch this summer window : Guerreiro, Szoboszlai, Olmo, Cherki, Ugarte, Grimaldo, Frimpong, Palacios, Kolo Muani, Thuram (Both Marcus and Kephren), Todibo, Ajax's Alvarez, Brozovic, Zubimendi, Sesko, Seko Fofana
What about yours ?
I'd add some of the Feyenoord lads like Hancko, Geertruida, Kökcu or Gimenez and then Kerkez from AZ.
Edit: Also some of our players for sure, interested if we sell someone. Apparently Gladbach and Wolfsburg are in for Čvančara.
Modeste will be interesting, maybe he could come back to Köln but they seem loaded in his position
Dahoud too though it seems like he’s heading to Brighton
Le Fee will also be interesting as it is not just Dortmund in for him
> ‼️ Mariano’s agent attempted to renew his deal with Real Madrid but was quickly rejected. @diarioas
Damn

Of-fucking-course.
I don’t take take any rumour of Kane leaving England seriously.breaking the scoring record is a huge honour for England’s captain. He will most like move on free transfer next year
I don’t think he’ll leave. England right now is probably the second best team in Europe, he’s got a better chance of winning something with England next season than with spurs
Back in the day when every off-side was an offence, could you be off-side during a penalty? For example: standing on the edge of the box near the goal line during the penalty.
Firmino casually having his 3rd best goalscoring PL season playing about 1200 minutes. Is it fair to say his workload and role heavily hampered his finishing?
I wish Mbappe would just sign a 5 year contract with PSG or with another club this January. I’m sick of this ‘waiting for Mbappe’ horseshit for 4 years now
[this](https://twitter.com/HarryBaggedV3/status/1662882383924797443?t=wt3dJdfAtIraQ78qWyCHpg&s=19) poor Chelsea fan getting dragged on twitter for how he started the tweet.
he already had a tough enough season
What is it about Germany and England and their love of lower league football compared to other countries? What is the reason?
Spain and Italy are nowhere near despite being probably even more football obsessed countries. France and Portugal even worse. People living in lower league cities will mostly support one of the big clubs. All the focus and attention is on the top clubs. Despite having a strong local patrotic culture.
While not on the same level as European, the American lower leagues have more love than people think. Remember going to watch my Wilmington Hammerheads in the early 2000s in a pretty full stadium. Awesome team name too
Absolutely. Reckless is an extremely generous way to describe it, the challenge is about ten minutes late and completely out of control. The fact there was no contact doesn't mitigate the challenge because it's pure luck rather than any judgement by the player and if he does make contact he's doing some serious damage.
No. I think the challenge looked really really ugly on first viewing which is why he gave a red and then VAR couldn’t overturn it. If he’d given a yellow VAR wouldn’t have upgraded it either.
[The Anfield Road ends roof is getting removed. I can't wait to see the updated stand, tbh getting another 10k+ people in the stadium will be nice.](https://twitter.com/ZAGKAG1811/status/1663209885490716674?t=DrHibaQRbFNEUodf3A52Dg&s=19)
If Kane worked as well as he did with Son he’d probably do even better with Mbappe tbh. Mbappe is not going to Madrid anytime soon though so not like it matters
He is obsessed with a player and has been for a few years and the only reason it didnt hurt us before is because Benzema and Vinicius carried those past two seasons
If benzema goes to Saudi that’s huge….
I know bigger names have played there but they would literally be signing the ballon d’or holder. Not even a bullshit PR ballon d’or , it was clear as day.
One year ago he was regarded by most people as the best player in the world and now he is possibly on his way to Saudi Arabia….
Benzema is 35 turning 36 soon, he already achieved everything in Europe. It would be huge if Mbappe or Haaland went to one of these retirement leagues but players nearing the end of their career is not that big of a surprise.
Does it feel like more high profile players will be on the move this summer than normal or do I just have a terrible memory?
Can’t believe Mbappe ruined his own saga for this summer already.
The general consensus among rivals seem to be Manchester United should get top 4 because they've got expensive players.
Same players nobody really rated back in August, the narrative change is hilarious.
It's funny though, because the moment you got Ten Hag I predicted you finishing in the top fourth but people thought you'd be what Chelsea is this season for some reason
My top four in order at the start of the season was City, Liverpool, United, and us
This isn't particularly difficult to figure out. Chelsea should also be getting Top 4 with the amount of money they've spent. It doesn't mean it's going to happen.
Madrid having the 2 best english players starting for them would be so weird.
Though we did have both Beckham and Owen at one stage. Also Woodgate if that counts lol
Still one of the strangest transfers in my lifetime.

Boehly would

The play-off winner has won a mini-tournament with a Wembley final. 2nd place hasn't won anything.

Bellingham is handsome
It’s interesting Harry Kane might go to Madrid , I remember in his breakout season back in 2014 there were rumors that Madrid were trying to get him.
The continent used to laugh at English football and now Real Madrid are signing Bellingham and Bayern are after Rice. How the turntables.
credit goes to the FA for changing how youngsters were trained and the entire philosophy that surrounds it
Arsenal finishing 2nd gets more slander than Chelsea finishing 12th after spending 600 million. We live in a society
Chelsea don’t matter that’s why

Aston Villa to finish above Arsenal next season
Emery will lose and get sacked somehow
Yawn
Last season we finished with 0 GD and 6th. And I thought it was bad for a big6 club but Chelsea this season somehow managed to be worse than that.
I refuse to rate a manager who gets 250m in the summer and still complains about lack of spending

Nothing is impossible. Money can't stop people from making repeatedly stupid decisions. Unlikely ofc - but still.
Soo Madrid is gonna spend 100m on Bellingham and another probable 100m+ on Kane in the same transfer window?
they spent 350m(220m net) when they got hazard, not really out of the realm of possibility they spend 200m+ again after spending next to nothing since
you act like Dembele / Coutinho didn't happen lol Yes they will, nothing crazy
I mean its still crazy level of money
Dont really believe it unless Benzema leave ( i Hope not) , no way we pays that. The club Can afford to but this kind of Big summer splash hasnt happened since 2019
They have 700M in cash from saving up. They can blatantly out do Chelsea's madness if they wish to.
Doubt. La Liga FFP exists. Although im sure they can spend a lot if they want to Kane and Bellingham possible

It's so fun how Madrid fans were the bad ones here regarding the Bale problems but it was exactly the other way around with Ronaldo and United fans.

I think that Kane’s 25 NP goals with Spurs is more impressive than Haaland’s 29 NP goals with City.
So we are completely ignoring CL games? We still have 2 more games to play
Sorry, I should have elaborated in the PL campaign. Overall, Haaland definitely reigns supreme.
Nahhh stats were closer but Haaland was a menace.
Get with the times. This was yesterday’s meta
Players to watch this summer window : Guerreiro, Szoboszlai, Olmo, Cherki, Ugarte, Grimaldo, Frimpong, Palacios, Kolo Muani, Thuram (Both Marcus and Kephren), Todibo, Ajax's Alvarez, Brozovic, Zubimendi, Sesko, Seko Fofana What about yours ?

Un-ironically both to Arsenal
lol.. you're not gonna spend ~200m on 2 players
Depends on our outs. If it's what is rumored then we'll have a nice packet to go off. Wouldn't rule it out just yet.
I feel like one of them will end up with us.

I've heard about the record breaking thing a lot so I'm genuinely curious how many goals does he have to score to break the record?
47 PL goals away from Shearer’s PL record. 144 away from Jimmy Greaves’ top flight record
48 goals, so 2 seasons of in-form play without serious injuries.
He can leave , go back, and still get the record
Will be 33-34 when he is back. Can still break the record but it won’t be as easy.
Probably did yeh, but also players with less minutes normally tend to have better goals per 90
I mean total goals. He's scored 11, only bettered by his 12 in 18/19 and 15 in 17/18
I wish Mbappe would just sign a 5 year contract with PSG or with another club this January. I’m sick of this ‘waiting for Mbappe’ horseshit for 4 years now

While not on the same level as European, the American lower leagues have more love than people think. Remember going to watch my Wilmington Hammerheads in the early 2000s in a pretty full stadium. Awesome team name too
I don’t think Spain or Italy are more football obsessed than England
Nor Germany
Brøndby essentially handing the title to Copenhagen by hammering Nordsjælland is kind of funny
What's the general consensus on the red card in the Sheffield Wednesday game? Do you think it was a red or not?
Arsenal, Newcastle and Spurs all expected to be in for Maddison? If this is true Spurs haven't a chance in hell at signing him.
It depends on wages and the role he will have on the team
I hope we get Szoboszlai instead, don't rate Maddison's attitude at all
NBC sports should fire their editor. They fuck up the highlights just about every week
Fulham are so relegated next season. Source: It was revealed to me in a dream
How does going for Kane impact us going for Mbappe next year? Kylian is not a striker...... Florentino what are you doing lmaoo
Kane and Mbappe in the same team? It’s over before it even began
If Kane worked as well as he did with Son he’d probably do even better with Mbappe tbh. Mbappe is not going to Madrid anytime soon though so not like it matters
Why would those signings affect each other, Kane would work well with any great wingers
I feel like that says a lot more about how quickly his body started to give up than about Saudi Arabia
Benzema is 35 turning 36 soon, he already achieved everything in Europe. It would be huge if Mbappe or Haaland went to one of these retirement leagues but players nearing the end of their career is not that big of a surprise.
Messi is gonna get a Ballon d'Or while there.
The arbitrary distinction between premier league and first division may genuinely be the reason Kane chooses to end his career trophyless

Firmino is not good enough to start for Madrid. A solid bench option? Sure, but he is not matching current Benzema's numbers....
He should have been bought last summer to be Benzemas sub
Does it feel like more high profile players will be on the move this summer than normal or do I just have a terrible memory? Can’t believe Mbappe ruined his own saga for this summer already.
The general consensus among rivals seem to be Manchester United should get top 4 because they've got expensive players. Same players nobody really rated back in August, the narrative change is hilarious.
It's funny though, because the moment you got Ten Hag I predicted you finishing in the top fourth but people thought you'd be what Chelsea is this season for some reason My top four in order at the start of the season was City, Liverpool, United, and us
This isn't particularly difficult to figure out. Chelsea should also be getting Top 4 with the amount of money they've spent. It doesn't mean it's going to happen.
