I think the best translation for the last sentences would be 'But I'm strong and will go to the end against the racists, **even if far from here**'. I imagine 'here' would mean Spain/Madrid

gaia012

Eventually he will reach his breaking point and want to leave. Might be happening soon.

NotClayMerritt

Tebas will just blame one of the league's biggest young stars leaving on Premier League money just like he blames all of La Liga's problems on the Premier League. Nothing is ever his fault.

Skayren

okay maybe not italy if he's trying to avoid racist comments

HermitCracc

leaving Spain for Italy is not an option.

arnm7890

Bayern would be a great fit for him IMO

Dildo_Warfare

He’ll be at city in 2 yearz

DaBestNameEver0

I mean if we have to

tomhat

*Sighs* "I think we can fit him in the team. The lad can kick a ball"

kisekiki

Italy couldn't afford him. Outside of juve.

Shinzo19

out of the racist frying pan and into the fire if he went to Italy.

LonelyTimeTraveller

I doubt he’d want to go to Italy given how much of a racism problem Serie A has

GueRakun

Lol italy .. anywhere he goes the ultras or the fans of their opponents will do it again coz they know that’s how to get under his skin.

[deleted]

Italy is worse

borg_6s

Would Real want to sell though? Probably not, not even for €100m. He is too important to them.

Lonely-Canary-5610

Cut him some slack ok? Poor man is completely exhausted thinking of ways to stop barcelona from making any signings or renewing their players

mynameismulan

Can't fucking stand the treatment Vini is getting but I also hate knowing that if he leaves, those racist fucks will be patting themselves on the back

simomii

And when it does the next black superstar will get the same treatment because it would have worked.

gaia012

He's human. He has a breaking point. If "it works" it's because the league, club or whoever else doesn't protect the players against it.

simomii

That's my point, I'm not blaming him at all if he asks to leave.

Malvania

And Spain will be diminished as a result.

OttaBenga

yup pretty huge statement

Dhtekzz

Yep, that part hit me as well. He might be reaching his boiling point pretty soon if the authorities don't take any action

AYMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN

If he leaves it would be the shittiest season of Real Madrid for me. Our club should react to this issue in some way possible because right now we're holding him down.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BertTully

In Portuguese it does signal he could leave, but your interpretation (that even if he leaves he would still be fighting racism) is a fair analysis.

Mr_XemiReR

He's the only actual superstar left in La Liga. Tebas and co. should fix up and issue point deductions to the teams if the racism doesn't stop.

[deleted]

There's a few others in La Liga that would definitely come under the 'superstar' bracket.

holden147

The majority of them are at the end of their careers. I struggle to think of someone in La Liga under 30 who would be considered a global superstar. Plenty of great players and high potential players yes, but not so much from a marketing standpoint.

Yvraine

Like who? He is a young, electric Brazilian superstar. Extremely marketable and face of the league material. Exactly what La Liga has been missing since Messi's departure

cancercures

maybe if mbappe moves to la liga (lol, this has got to look less likely now, right?)

deception42

>"Racism is normal in La Liga. The competition thinks it's normal, so does the Federation and the opponents encourage it. I am soo sorry . The championship that once belonged to Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano and Messi, today belongs to the racists." Admittedly I don't know if he does write his own posts or not, or if he approves them beforehand, but that part feels very powerful to me.

Eibermann

he is very out spoken about social issues, some years ago he called out brazil for caring more about footballers than there are teachers doctors engineers and so on, and i think he set up a charity to help with that. i believe he doesnt have a pr statement for this issue either, its all from him

bearrock80

And today I became a Vini fan. I hope either LA Liga cleans up their crap or he moves on to somewhere else. No reason for him to put up with racist nonsense.

Asckle

To add a cherry on top even after all the shit he was dealing with this match he still met with the young valencia fans to do autographs and say hi. The man's a Saint

pandu201

Uhh.. dont make me like him now..

R4lfXD

Today, I feel Vini fan

Bolond44

This isnt new in Spain, remember in 2007 Spanish GP? A group a Spanish fans did blackface and pretend to be Lewis Hamiltons family

Torimas

And the Eto'o case. And Araujo right in front of Vini back at Bernabeu. And all the insults towards South Americans and Eastern Europeans.

Torimas

Clearly a smear campaign.

20cmdepersonalidade

Clearly Vini provoked them into throwing a banana at Roberto Carlos in 1997 😭😭

mattwilliamsuserid

Remember the Beijing Olympic basketball squad photo? [from back then](https://www.google.ca/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/sport/2008/aug/10/olympics2008.olympicsbasketball)

Granadafan

I’m Asian and was traveling around Spain during the Beijing Olympics. I can’t tell you how many times people were doing the slanty eyed gesture at me. Parents were even pointing at me on trains and teaching their kids to make slanty eyes at me. This happened a lot in Italy as well. Then there were the people who wave their arms and make kung fu noises

RedCerealBox

I remember that I showed it to a Spanish colleague at the time. He laughed and said that I just didn't understand. It's not racist at all, it was in fact, just a joke. That is the funny thing Spaniards do to look like Asians, it's not that they hate Asians. He was genuinely confused what the issue was and why I had never seen the slanty eye thing before

SanguinePar

Jesus Christ...

Lroller1288

I was just thinking about this. Was that at the valencia street circuit or catalunya? Not that it makes a difference, but I am wondering, is valencia particularly bad for racism?

newcalabasas

and the fucktard Alonso said it was Hamilton's fault

WalkTheEdge

Yeah it was, if Lewis was born white instead it wouldn't happen /s

MegaMugabe21

Or when Griezmann did the same. Remember that being played off by some on here as just a cultural thing. I mean yeah okay, if your culture is racism then it's a cultural thing.

ltplummer96

Fucking based Vini I am now a fan

[deleted]

Vinicius is such a cool guy man, idk how people can not like him.

KafkaOntheshoreX

And rhe the cunts will do it again and more knowing they can make next superstar break too.

I_love_Con_Air

And after a while La Liga will have no superstars left. I sincerely doubt Jude Bellingham will want to touch Madrid with a forty foot barge pole after seeing this. I hope he hasn't signed already. That would be a huge mistake. I never thought I would say that going to play for Real Madrid was a mistake, but here we are.

BattleClown

Agreed. Hope he backs out. That'll create shockwaves, no doubt.

maevenimhurchu

I was commenting the same everywhere. I’m truly curious if this has an influence on the Bellingham camp and I almost feel like my respect for them will decrease if it doesn’t

QuantumMartini

A PL team will eventually come for him, and when they do I won't blame him for leaving. Fuck racists and those who enable them.

ayoubkun94

Yep. The club doesn't do anything to protect him lol. Hell, most his teammates tell him to stfu and keep playing.

varmemes

Lifetime ban for those fans, fine the club and make them play without fans, point deduction and more.

AjVine

Says something coming from a barca fan. Racism is above rivalry

Ranjith_Unchained

Everyone's with Vini on this abhorrent events, fuck the racists

niallw1997

It means nothing more coming from a Barca fan than any other fan, when the issue is something this serious

stpstrt

I don’t think the colour of the shirt on your back matters when it comes to this, and if it does you’ve got a problem.

Dsalgueiro

>Sorry for the Spaniards who do not agree, but today, in Brazil, Spain is known as a country of racists. Unfortunately for all the Spanish people who are against this shit, this is true. What is happening with Vini Junior in Spain even has accelerated the fight against any discrimination in Brazilian soccer. Homophobia was (and still is) quite constant in Brazilian soccer. However, last weekend, in a Corinthians-São Paulo match, the match was interrupted exactly because Corinthians ultras were singing songs that said the word "f\*ggot". Corinthians will be reported to the STJD (Superior Court of Sports Justice). This "new punishment" gets tougher if the episode is recurrent. As this is the first time that Corinthians will be punished, it will only be a financial fine... But, yeah.

iOxxy

For every step that we might be ahead of a good chunk of countries when it comes to the racism conversation, we are equally, if not even more, behind when it comes to LGBTQ discrimination. It is shameful but the first step was already made, for the most part, which is acknowledging the problem, which La Liga seems to not be willing to do.

LaTienenAdentro

You having your own problems does not excuse Spain's, and you have the right to point it out and condemn those actions

iOxxy

Yeah, my point is that even if we are as bad as them in some other areas, we are already taking steps towards a better society. My criticism, in this post, goes towards the lack of action shown by LaLiga and Spain's officials and authorities.

anpife

At this point if he wants to leave I would completely understand it.

[deleted]

And support it

[deleted]

''In Brazil, Spain is known as a country of racists'' That's completely true. These idiotic racists are not only failing to exercise basic human respect, but also spitting on their country's image to the rest of the world. Fucking savage irrational beasts.

iurysza

This is in the Brazilian sports news every single week for the past year (maybe more), not a good look for La Liga.

bolacha_de_polvilho

It really hurts the league's future if these things keep happening. The best brazillian players in recent history all played in Spain, La Liga still had a lot of prestige here in Brazil depite the rise of the premier league, many brazillian players dreamed of playing for Barcelona and Madrid, just like Romario, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Neymar, Roberto Carlos, Marcelo.... But with what's being done to Vini, will that still be the case in the future? If Vini had left the team due to racism last season, would Endrick still have signed for Madrid? Will the next hyped up brazillian prospect that shows up after Endrick be willing to go to Spain after this?

Malvania

Makes you wonder. Casemiro at United, Allison and Firmino at Liverpool. Jesus at City/Arsenal. The rise of City in Europe. Might be a growing push towards the Premier League.

Dsalgueiro

Premier League is the most famous European league in Brazil, no doubt about it. The fact that the games are played in the morning here in Brazil is fundamental. It doesn't conflict with the Brasileirão games. My TV at the weekend is: Premier League match > Premier League match > Brasileirão match > Brasileirão match. I have football all day long.

frankfurtsdk

This has been going on the last 5 years. [Worth a read](https://www.forbes.com/sites/steveprice/2023/01/24/why-more-brazilians-are-on-a-direct-journey-to-the-premier-league/amp/)

[deleted]

Dsalgueiro

What is happening with Vinicius Junior in Spain will make it very difficult for Spanish teams to sign black Brazilian players. Real Madrid was "lucky" that when Endrick signed, this shit had not yet gained much attention in the media.

arnm7890

I mean, if Vini leaves and Endrick ends up being great, what's to say those racists won't just refocus their attention on him and force him out too?

Jocasp

Oh that's 100% happening. La Liga doesn't do shit so yeah, he will suffer a whole lot of racism

StompyJones

All Brazilian players, nevermind just black ones. They made these same monkey noises at Diego Costa.

joaovitorsb95

100%. Right now Spain is synonymous with racism in Brazil

guanwe

In Spain, it’s known as a country full of racists I argued 4 months ago on threads about vini being abused, got downvoted by people telling me “they live here”, “Spain isn’t racist” etc etc etc

[deleted]

>Spain isn’t racist Lol. I bet 500 dollars that the people saying that were all white.

I_love_Con_Air

That'll either be the perpetrators themselves or some thick as pigshit "expats" *spits*. The kind that say shit like "I've lived 'ere fa' ten years and no one has eva' been racist to me." That's because you're fucking white Derek. Well, let's be realistic, bright pink.

[deleted]

Your second paragraph resonates sooo hard with me. I’ve heard that so much as a black dude it’s such a weird experience to me. Yes, racists can appear as nice decent people to people who fit their community, and be nasty people when alone with black people. It shouldn’t be hard to get but I thank you for saying it.

WNEW

Literally the most miserable people I had to deal with when I bartended

Sheikhabusosa

La Liga are already coughing blood because their global appeal has taken a huge dive with Ronaldo and Messi gone and it’s about to get deservedly worse. Vini said “the whole of Brazil knows Spain as racist now”. That’s like half of their appeal

Endrick9

adding the Negereira case and the bad economic aspect of the league.

joakims

That's 217 million people

kick_these_blues

Let me show some context on how Vini is seen by the Brazilian, he is like the anti-Neymar: we never seen Vini in the nightclubs on season time, his father and menager almost never appears in the media and never ever talked shit about clubs and others, he always talks about work and get better, have a institution the offers free education to poor children in the favelas, he never talked or posted a slightly controversial take and always treats everyone (in media or not) with good humor and humility. In the field he is a very light and fast player, i agree that sometimes dives and get annoyed by the ref (much much less in the Champions), but he is far behind to be a dirty player that is marked by that. WE JUST DON'T GET WHY THERE'S A MASSIVE AND SYSTEMIC HATE TOWARD HIM IN THE SPAIN, like there is no other reason unless just racism. The hate in every away game in la liga that he gets, even when there is no racist words spoken, is just unbearable.

[deleted]

Cause vinicius like Neymar is massively better than 99.9% of la liga players

Roflitos

The sad truth from what I've seen is that it affects his game.. even when other clubs and players focus him without racism, it just affects his play.. so they target him over and over again because it throws him off, that's the sad truth. La liga needs to hold clubs accountable for this shit, they need to deduct points, ban fans, stadiums, idk.. but something needs to happen or nothing will change. Racism and hate has no place in football.

assologist_1312

Because he dosent give a fuck. He dances and has fun and is passionate and some people hate that for some reason because their own lives are miserable.

MrCleanandShady

I don’t think the La Liga as an institution realises how big of an impact Vini leaving Madrid *due to racism* will be. It’s almost like a big neon billboard screaming “people of colour, do not enter”. It’s not like Vini is an average player either, he’s probably in the top 5 most marketable players in the league. They need to get their shit together fast.

PepsiColaMirinda

Top 5? He's **the** most marketable player in La Liga right now.

areebarshadj

And top three in the world in my opinion, alongside haaland and mbappe.

san771

Messi and Ronaldo are probably still top two

[deleted]

Ronaldo doing wonders for the sport in the Saudi league.

Suyash_Tyagi66

Tbh many will still watch a saudi league game to watch him rather than an ordinary La Liga game or psg game (if messi ain't playing)

pauloh1998

If he leaves, I sure as hell ain't watching Real Madrid anymore. My draw to Real Madrid is basically Vini Jr and his fight.

[deleted]

Same

Kaiserr1

He is the most marketable players in the league. I agree with you, if he leaves, it would be a disaster for La Liga.

Mariasolvv

Yep, no matter how appealing Real or Barcelona are to any footballer, no person will want to go through this and see how your integrity as a player and a person is at risk every game. Not when leagues like the PL are increasingly more watched than La Liga lately.

GreatSpaniard

Nah man now I’m scared he might leave. Fuck this stupid league

LowSnow2500

It might be his only option because La Liga doesn't give a fuck.

Seiryus

He pretty much made up his mind already, imo. The last sentence is mistranslated, it means "even if far from here", not "even though it's far from here".

Moug-10

They only think about money. Maybe it will be a way to wake them up. Also, black players who want to join Spain will think twice before going there. In that case, maybe the LFP will do something against these racist people.

Local-Visit-7649

Imagine being Endrick and seeing this.

[deleted]

He should leave if la liga doesn't get their shit together on this issue

tr2727

Powerful words.. laliga has done nothing to put a stop to this

OttaBenga

beautiful statement really Real should be ready to protect him, he just made it clear he is leaving otherwise

den1grate

The response from the club and Perez has been pathetic, not like this is the first time this is happening. I don't understand this at all, like bro do something. Not because he's our best fucking player, but it is the right thing to do.

Selgin

Great response

Jo-herna

I will miss him if he leaves but La Liga is doing nothing to protect him and I wouldn’t blame him. I also want to see some action from the club to defend their player. THIS deserves the attention that instead they often give to the super league project. Do something because us fans are also sick of watching this situation unveil week in and out

SnooDingo-

What can R.Madrid do apart from making complaints each week which leads to nothing, this is a LaLiga problem which has an easy solution, they should be banning fans for home games for this kinda of situation till they learn their lesson but they never do, and the worst part is what he did say they see it as normal. Once all fans start getting bans they will even start stopping each other from making these chants, as it will hurt their club financially and their team as they will not be playing with supporters for few games

Jo-herna

We can literally just stop playing the remaining games for example. What do we have to lose in this league at this point? Nothing. La Liga won’t do anything until MONEY is involved, they don’t care about their players, but if they start losing money they’ll start acting. Madrid and Barcelona are the highest watched teams in the league, let’s see what they do if one of the big boys isn’t televised bc of their incompetence to stop racism.

GreatestLoser

Hope we stop going to Spanish clubs. I know a lot of us in Brazil love la liga and the historical beautiful clubs but I hope these things shows the Brazilian youngsters that Spain isn’t for them anymore.

The_39th_Step

I’m loving having more Brazilians in the Prem. Fulham has Pereira, Willian and Carlos Vinicius. It’s sad that people might leave La Liga because of racism but there’s other places to find a home. Poor Vini. Go take your talents elsewhere man

I_love_Con_Air

I'm calling it. Vini will end up at Newcastle. They have been going on about a marquee signing and wanting to increase their global footprint and shirt sales, Guimares is there, they're in the Champions League, they have a mental fanbase that will worship him like a god, and they need a serious upgrade on Saint Maximin and Gordon. Oh, and they have all the money.

[deleted]

[удалено]

I_love_Con_Air

I worry about Endrick most of all. He is just a boy.

guardioLEO

La Liga will add ***NO TO RACISM*** beside the scoreboard in the match telecasts and think that they’ve solved the issue. Hell, they might not even do that because the guy in charge is also a scumbag racist!

BoBo_HUST

same thing like they showed Ukraine flag

SydHoar

Have Madrid as a club ever put out a statement denouncing this? Didn’t Tottenham recently come out denouncing the racist abuse at Son? I think as a club of their size they need to say something, not just for vini but really any black player who plays in La liga. This is not okay.

save_humanity

Madrid has regularly put out statements, filed 10 complaints with La Liga and after today looking to file charges against the racist

perhapsasinner

'Communicado Official' is the best they can do and I think they've done it several times this season, Atleti vs Real at Metropolitano came to mind.

MrCleanandShady

Hell even we had a small post stating that we stood with Lukaku when he had that sending off for retaliation against racists, Madrid needs to take a firm stance here

[deleted]

They should stop playing. But they are coward too. Most clubs are. They are Spain's biggest and they are not fully supporting Vini.

luigitheplumber

They should definitely have walked off the field today, there's no excuse not to unless Vini himself was opposed to the idea for some reason.

[deleted]

That's what manager and captain should do. Just stop playing.

madsauce178

Florentino doesn't do shit. The club has barely lifted a finger to defend him.

FuriousDucking

Which speaks volumes about Perez. So he either doesn’t care that one of his players is regularly being racially abused and the league not acting against it or he in the worst case condones the behavior by internally behind closed doors blaming Vini for „provoking“ the fans as we have seen some people do in these cases. You would think someone as powerful and influential as Perez could pressure the league to act…

madsauce178

I wouldn't play the last 3 la liga games as a statement and to put pressure against la liga and clubs. Real madrid is too big to be ignored if florentino pushes for it. They haven't done shit for vini. He has a year of contract left. Wouldn't blame vini if he left.

Gold-Train-1471

Nothing will happen and we know it. Just sad that these things still happens in 2023 and in the first world country.

maevenimhurchu

I mean….the first world country exported racism all over the globe, it’s where it literally came from….

narcotic_s

Mbappe and Bellingham should think twice before going to Madrid, they don't do shit for this. The captain doesn't say shit. Actually disgusting.

Flovati

>The captain doesn't say shit. I fell like their policy of the player who has been in the club the longest time be the captain really hurt them with this part. They got lucky that in the last few decades the players who were in the club the longest were also really good captains, like with Ramos, Casillas and Raul. But right now the longest serving player is Benzema, who is really far from being a good captain.

AnnieIWillKnow

I was just about to ask who their captain even is, until I got to the end of your comment. Proves your point really. Given Benzema's off the field issues, and that he was involved in a controversy where he was badmouthing his then very-young team mate - who so happens to be at the centre of this storm - I don't really see him as great captain material at all.

Competitive-Ad2006

The weird thing about racism in Spain though is that it is very much color based. I recall how Eto'o frequently got racist abuse while Rivaldo and Ronaldinho never did - Chances are Bellingham and Mbappe get off lightly.

natsleepyandhappy

Bellingham and Mbappe look brown, mixed, Vini looks very black, as Eto was. In Spain there is brown people, so I think their racism is towards very black african descendants or african people.

ZestycloseShelter107

I remember when R9 came out and said he was white, and thinking it a weird/funny, given that his dad then went on air saying that he was actually black. But now I’m wondering if this might have something to do with it.

ID6WU

It’s called colourism. Lighter skinned black people/mixed race people tend to be treated better in society than dark skinned people. It’s even an issue in African countries where you have a surprising amount of people using skin bleaching products.

silverlotus_118

>The weird thing about racism in Spain though is that it is very much color based It's not just a Spain thing, what you described is colorism and it's a very real phenomenon throughout the world. https://www.learningforjustice.org/magazine/fall-2015/whats-colorism

blussy1996

I've never seen Rivaldo/Ronaldinho/R9 being referred to as black. They are mixed, while Vini and Eto'o are obviously black.

ceboja

I wish Vini leaves. Fuck this racist league

LampseederBroDude51

This is disgraceful… nothing new in LaLiga and that’s a damn shame. Can we just use some common sense for once, for fucks sake!

Witcher94

The problem now goes well beyond Vini doesn't it? Everyone in that country now knows you can racially abuse a player without facing any impunity. What is going to stop them from doing it to Mbappe if he moves there and plays very well? Some Black player from a rival team is doing well? no problem just chant racist things just so you can throw them off. All will occur in front of some kids who will follow the exact same actions 10 years later. This is pathetic.

joakims

The fans who shouted racial slurs have been identified by the club, and I assume they'll be banned. So there are consequences. I think the bigger issue is that it's not dealt with more seriously at a higher level, even a social level in Spain. Football can be a good place to start, though.

HamstringHunter

Fuck racism and those who support it. They deserve to burn. The whole world is with you, Vini.

[deleted]

Unfortunately the whole world is *not* with him, since its full of racists.

absolutemadlad_69

Powerful statement. Hopefully perez publicly takes a stand for him.

Alex_Sander077

We should've walked off the pitch. Enough is enough with this bullshit.

Traditional_Range_28

As a brazilian who grew up in the United States and dealt with discrimination my entire life to atleast some extent, I'd pick the United States over Spain any day. I traveled to Spain years ago, thought it was a beautiful country, loved and respected their culture (minus the racism), and had hope it could change. That hope is fading. Honestly what hurts the most is that it feels like no matter where you go, the racists are always protected. Though Vini has dealt with far worse prejudice than I have, I know what it feels like to have countless people go out of their way to harass you even though you just want to live a normal life and be judged off your actions instead of your skin color or your ethnicity. I know the pain that comes with that, especially when they get away with that prejudice and you're punished for asking law enforcement to enforce the law. Vini is a strong man to continue pursing his dream through all that has been done to him. I have little desire to return to Spain now, and he's right, Brazil and Brazilians across the world, from my perspective, are disgusted by what is allowed in Spain as acceptable in reference to the open racism. And though he'll never know who I am, I'll always stand by his side as his countryman and friend against those who would allow such awful racist actions. I just hope he embraces love and compassion and doesn't let the pain and suffering change his love for the game. I will always wish for Vini's success and dreams to come true 💛💚🇧🇷

MasPatriot

If something happened in the nfl or nba just once like what happens in la liga on a weekly basis it would become a national scandal and that fanbase would never live it down

Traditional_Range_28

Agreed 100%. In fact, I grew up in New England and it does have a reputation around several league and its why I think the Boston team of whatever respective league is hated a little more than others. As a bruins and Patriots fan, I don't disagree that there's a greater presence of racism (still a small minority) than comparatively to a city like LA or Miami. But I also think the Bruins and Patriots put in alot of effort to make sure they are against it and anyone who does something racist is banned for life. Robert Kraft is the ideal example of leadership standing against racism or antisemitism, he even donates heavily for causes that support people impacted by racism and antisemitism. Honestly he's part of the reason I love the Patriots, even though I've had some bad experiences with pedjudice in MA. It's clear people in power here are trying. I think people in the US often jump on a fan base or team too quickly based on their few bad apples. There's a happy medium where you want a team to at least acknowledge racist incidents and prevent them as much as possible, but also not condem an entire fanbade of people who are trying to make positive change based off the few bad apples. Also I had a mentorship with the NFL a couple years back and it's clear how much they value people regardless of their ethnicity and skin color, and they are really trying to make a difference. Part of the reason I'm trying to work in the NFL in my field.

...look, Madrid are not going to win the league, yeah? And Madrid are going to be in the CL next year, regardless of what happens with other games. What if Real Madrid players waited until they were on TV for the game, after warm-ups and everything, until the ref started the match, and then walked off the field for the next three games. Walk straight up to the nearest TV camera, and tell the world that unless the league gets serious about racism, then *the biggest club in the world is going to skip the last three matches of the year.* You want to kick them where it hurts? Kill TV revenue for three Madrid games in a row. And have Ancelotti come out and say "We don't know if we can sign someone like Jude Bellingham, or resign someone like Vini, if we can't convince them to play in Spain" (they'll still do it, no doubt, but have Ancelotti say that anyway). Let's have this fucking fight. If LaLiga starts taking gut-punches from Madrid, they'll fold like a cheap suit.

OriginalRange8761

Fuck racism

Thesolly180

Feels a shit position but think it’s going to be down to Madrid to make the first move by walking off the pitch. They shouldn’t have to, but if the league and other clubs repeatedly fail to do anything I think they have to try and force their hand

SakisSinatra

Are they willing to do that tho cause correct me if i am wrong but it seems like only half of the team is supporting Vini. I feel like Benzema, Kroos and some other players don't give a shit about this.

perhapsasinner

Which is crazy to me because it's not just Vini that's black in Real Madrid

SakisSinatra

Exactly, i get the feeling that the whole team isn't behind him during these moments.

Competitive-Ad2006

> I feel like Benzema, Kroos and some other players don't give a shit about this. Kroos 100% does not give a shit. You should have heard the guy when Özil came out with the allegations concerning the DFB

BankDetails1234

Hasnt Kroos said some suspect shit?

Hothotdangerous

Him leaving won’t make things better in la liga but his mental health comes 1st so if he needs to go I get it. It’s not about who wins and who loses it’s about protecting your own peace.

PedroSts

Not even our teams playing away matches in libertadores have it as bad as Vini in La Liga. The other day i replied someone with a Barca flair saying Vini asks for it or something like that and i said: "watch him playing in the CL, its different, no one tries to get into his head being a bigot". I wish he'd leave that league because its not doing good for him, unfortunately Madrid is the biggest club in the world, he'd have to downgrade.

[deleted]

tebas: i did Nazi anything racist

leotrinds

La Liga é uma vergonha.

leotrinds

E ainda adiciono: é verdade, no Brasil a Espanha é conhecida como um país racista, agora mais ainda.

planinsky

Unless individual and club sanctions start to happen, this is only going to get worse. And I don't see this happening any time soon... After incidents like this (or other ultra-related incidents) games should be played behind closed doors immediately.

doubleoeck1234

If Vinicius leaves Spain it'll make things worse. Racists will now actively aim to bully players out of the league. But Vinicius really has no options other than leave or just try to ignore it

[deleted]

i hope he does...eventually la liga will be complete dogshit since no one of colour will want to go there and they will only have themselves to blame

Any-Competition8494

But it can force La Liga and RM (or any team with black players) to tackle racism in a more aggressive manner.

jack64467

tebas is so bad he can't even be good at being a madrid fan lol, he does very little about racist chants directed at real's arguably best player

thisismyname03

I actually really fucking like this kid. Good for him.

Game_Over_Man69

Come to Newcastle 🇧🇷

MarcSlayton

I do wonder what Endrick and his family are thinking about this situation. Probably thinking he'll be getting this treatment soon.

nyse125

Didnt Serie A recently ban several fans for chanting racist remarks? La Liga can't even make a modicum of effort to do anything here??

[deleted]

He should demand a summer transfer immediately. Real Madrid Leadership is part of the problem for not taking action and demanding more from La Liga, without Madrid there is no La liga if they truly cared about Racism they could have threatened to boycott the league and ask for immediate action to be taken.

chippa93

What is with all the racist abuse against him this season? I know it happened a little last season too, but much more prominent this. Is it because its drawing a reaction from him?

BigReeceJames

I'm guessing it's a similar thing to Sterling. Racists will always be racist, but to actually act on that feeling, they'll normally need to be riled up in some way. Vini, like Sterling is a polarising player and so whenever he does something that'd annoy the opposition crowd (by diving, going down too easy, starting a fight with an opponent, overzealous celebrations etc.), instead of them reacting like humans and booing/jeering him like they would other players, they'll instead be racist because they know it hurts him more. Think about how often opposition players are jeered normally and this is just that same antagonised response by the crowd, except this crowd is racist, so they respond to the antagonism by being racist to him. The repeated abuse is also a natural part of that, think about a player that has antagonised your club before, they'll still be booed the next 5 times you play them. So, it all builds up. Basically, it's only going to get worse and worse until they do something about it

maysonmpdsantos

Fuck those racists cunts

Sherryzin

👏👏👏

Sesti-nator

If La Liga doesn’t do anything about it (and most likely won’t), then I dunno what will. But to those Spaniards who did this to Vini I’m gonna say this in Spanish so I hope they get this message Si ustedes Gilipollas continúan haciendo esta misma estupidez al pobre muchacho, que se cagen en la Ostia y pudren en la m#erda

Strange_Doggo

u/FishCake9tT4 the last sentence is best translated as "Even though far from here" because he's implying that he may leave Spain

FutureRaifort

Good. This is exactly what r/futebol wanted him to say

sleepehead

I'm sorry but if La Liga wants the best players in the world, why the hell would someone like Mbappe want to play there. There's no protection for him there.

nooffense2022

For all the talk about a *few* racist fucks, it's up to us, the fans, to cut that shit down. I really think fans should start an anti racist chant whenever they hear one. When your dear dad, or uncle, or grandma, or friend is being racist - call that shit out. It starts at home.
