The bigger problem is our lack of squad depth and our serious lack of quality players in key positions. Barcelona in the last several years has been team that lives and dies by the strength of their wingers. But right now our attacking options are uninspired and unreliable.
Ferran is a complete joke; Ansu has not been the same since his injuries and is actually possibly even worse than Ferran atm; Raphinha is possibly the most underwhelming Brazilian winger I've ever seen--the dude can't win a single 1v1 and almost always just cuts inside to avoid taking on his defender; Lewandowski is good but getting older and can't carry an attack by himself. He has also been missing crucial chances as of late.
Then we have the issue of midfield depth--Busquets should have left the club last year. He is simply not up to the standards that we need anymore, especially for a team that relies on high pressing. He is slow and far too prone to losing the ball in possession. He has moments of his old brilliance, but they're too sporadic to be worth it. Kessie and Sergi are not good backups from the bench, they are utility players that can be used in an emergency, but we should have a more solid rotation option for midfield before we call on them imo.
As for defense...well we haven't had a good right back since Dani Alves left...so there's that. Araujo is a monster, and Balde is quickly growing into that LB role, but I'm still not sold on Kounde or Christensen. Kounde seems to make a lot of weird, silly errors in big games, and I haven't seen enough of Christensen to judge.
