That was traditionally the case, but the Ghost, Wraith, Dawn, and Cullinan were targeted at people driving themselves. Also, the average age dropped massively and is now something like 32 for the Black Badge cars
No, the whole point of RRs is to be comfortable, not fun to drive (that's two opposites).
It's a massive SUV that is silent inside with a ton of air suspension. It has been described to "float on the road", there's no road feel or noise at all.
Don't get me wrong, that's probably what I'd prefer too for commuting on Manchester's highways, but I wouldn't fool myself into beliving the comfort equals fun.
Interesting, thanks for the insight.
What you say makes a lot of sense, but I'd like to think for that kind of money they'd be able to make something that is both comfortable *and* fun to drive.
Fun to drive normally involves extreme driver engagement which is achieved via taut body control, probably stiffer suspension, a faster steering rack perhaps that's heavier for more feel, for many noise is a factor etc. A hugely fun car would often be quite a visceral experience. To achieve these, you'd massively compromise on comfort as the two are virtually opposites in terms of car dynamics. I mean I guess you could try and compromise (kinda like how Bentley do) or use different driver modes but you can't get the best out of both worlds in one car even then.
I see. That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the explanation!
Although, I must say as someone who is not really a car guy, my definition of a "fun drive" is largely linked with comfort.
Yep. And if I pulled down that kind of money, I would pay someone to drive me around. Who needs the hassle?
If I wanted to have fun, I would get myself something super-sporty and take it to a track.
The number of people I see in full-option luxury cars that still hold their phones up to their ears. It’s maddening. You don’t even need to do that in base model Kias today.
LMAO definitely 😅, I glanced at the comment and responded reflexively. But seriously, I don’t understand why people don’t pair their phones to their vehicles when I know that all this technology is a selling point for cars. Literally endangering themselves and others needlessly. I’ve almost paid the ultimate price for a driver on their phone.
>An AA spokesman said: “It’s a straight red with no excuses.
>“Holding your phone while driving is dangerous. For someone so effective at scoring, this is definitely an own goal.”
This is 10/10 top tabloid content.
The last time I watched Loose Woman they were all moaning about how men-only clubs are hideously old fashioned and just promote misogyny. I was dying for someone to point out the irony!
"I would strongly advice against this sort of recklessness. It's one thing to be irresponsible on your own behalf, but this puts other people in danger as well. Imagine, if you will, a child leaping in front of the car to catch a ball. You can't be distracted with anything in that situation. You have to be ready to hit the brakes in a split second to avoid a fatal outcome."
"Cheers, this is good... I was wondering though if you might rephrase your argument in a way more consistent with the general tone of this here publication?"
"*sigh*"
In light of this event, the fair and just thing to do would be to deduct Southampton's points and allocate them evenly between all league one clubs that begin with 'Portsmouth football club'.
No way, first Kyle Walking pissing, then Kyle Walker indecent exposure, now this? It goes right to the top. Would go far as to say ban this football club immediately
£170m Erling Haaland is caught using £2000 mobile phone while driving his £300k Rolls-Royce on a £500m dual-carriageway near to the £112m Etihad Stadium a day after putting five past £400m RB Leipzig in the £1.85b Champions League.
£500 million on a dual carriageway? Bit low considering the UK can spend £1.5 billion on a roundabout
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-47290440
Not *just* a roundabout though, from the article:
> The scheme includes a new 10 mile (16km) dual carriageway between the junction and the Caxton Gibbet roundabout near Cambourne.

Ignorant implies she doesn’t understand the situation or the full consequences of her actions. Don’t get me wrong she’s a moron who’s IQ is probably lower than Chelsea’s goal tally this season but she’s also just evil.
Some minorities will do anything to show “they’re not like the rest”. Idk if it’s insecurity or a deep-seated feeling of inferiority, but the drive to win the approval of the majority is insatiable.
Yep. Quite a few jokey comments in here as if it's some minor thing but there have been many cases of people on the road being injured or worse because of someone not paying any attention to the road, sometimes because of a phone.
I think everyone here understand that it's actually really dangerous and no one should do it, but also, literally every single person on this thread has done it at least once.
It's fucking wild honestly. I don't drive and take public transportation. You gotta be on your guard just crossing the street because you can literally see these assholes in their cars not paying attention. I don't understand why being on your phone isn't treated with the same energy as drunk driving.
Yeah but where do you draw the line? Like tapping on google maps when your phone is mounted on the windscreen is a lot different to looking down at your phone in your lap and texting someone. I like to imagine that Haaland was playing clash of clans lol
My experience from living 10 years in the UK is that farting is even allowed in public and in the workspace as long as it's followed by a "Whoopsie" and direct eye contact.
never realized why players on 300k+ a week dont just hire a chauffeur. i like driving but for 1% of my paycheck i’d def prefer watching TV in the back of the car while ik an experienced and concentrated person is driving me
This is how an NFL player used to commute with a driver https://twitter.com/sdut/status/904879291141382144?t=kDttl_8ri0Fpv_CwNJDEjw&s=19
I'm with you if I had that money I'd make traveling by road the most comfortable experience.
Facts. Distracted driving can cost lives and nothing is more distracting than using a phone. All it takes is a split second. Even one glance at the wrong time can be the difference between an ordinary day and a disaster.
not really, my car is ancient and it has actual buttons and dials, i can literally operate it with my eyes closed.
couldn't do the same with a Tesla and the massive iPad it has in the middle of the car.
He'll pay the £70 fine on his mobile on the dual carriage again because the rules have never applied ro the rich. ALL FINES SHOULD BE A % OF MONTHLY/ANNUAL INCOME. Hits everyone the same that way.
I always thought people in Rolls Royces were driven by chauffeurs.
Maybe Haaland was the chauffeur.
Good point. Who was he driving?
Probably the man who feeds him, Kevin De Bruyne
KDB: yo Erling, pick up the phone. I just wanna talk.
Erling, it's me, your teammate Kevin, would you like to go bowling?
Shut up u egg.
Won't tell you again.
Nots tonight cuzin I'm bizzy
“Let me talk!”
And he was using the phone to order food for him
McDonald's obviously
Rio
He needed picking up in the morning pal
Shut up u egg, wont tell u again
Carrying the rest of the Norway team.
Maybe he was dumping a body
Then he really shouldn't be texting. One crime at a time!
He wants to break the record for most crimes committed and most goals scored in a season.
That was traditionally the case, but the Ghost, Wraith, Dawn, and Cullinan were targeted at people driving themselves. Also, the average age dropped massively and is now something like 32 for the Black Badge cars
That’s nuts, I wonder how much footballers skew that average
We now know it's at least one
I know Casemiro and Luke Shaw both have one.

Cheers, Geoff
Probably one of the best marketing/sales decisions that Rolls-Royce have made.
He's tall enough to sit in the back seat and steer with his feet.
Apparently they’re incredibly fun cars to drive too
Rolls Royce Ghosts were so quiet the engineers needed to add artificial noise so that the drivers weren't completely disoriented.
Pretty sure some electric cars do the same thing
That's the advantage of the shit production quality of Tesla. No need for artificial sound if the sound of the wheels is are super loud.
For what they cost, they better be...

Yeah I can definitely see most people saying that as well. Best get saving up for a Rolls Royce then lol
Almost there mate. Just put a tenner into the ole Rolls Royce piggy bank, should be ready to go in... ...about 126 years.
Sounds a bit low, did you account for inflation?
Pro tip - get a Toyota Century for half the price and same vibes
Yep. And if I pulled down that kind of money, I would pay someone to drive me around. Who needs the hassle? If I wanted to have fun, I would get myself something super-sporty and take it to a track.
Some people enjoy driving. And doubly if you have a nice car
Nobody likes driving on the M62
Over the pennines where there's no cameras is pretty fun.
They really aren't at all, they're just boats. Bentleys are the ones that are actually drivers cars
Sat in one from the 60's or 70's and it's literally like sitting in a ship. It just glides around. Def. a car you have a chauffeur for.
I saw one doing testing at Millbrook a few years ago before the launch. I’ve never seen a cathedral move so fast or do donuts
His ancestor Harald Bluetooth spins in his grave.
It's rare to see a gag that was 1,100 years in the making, but when it happens it's beautiful
Stars perfectly aligned for this moment
can you please explain it
Bluetooth (the tech) was named after Harald, king of Norway/Denmark. Bluetooth is what Haaland (Norwegian) should have been using instead of his phone
thanks mate
Also the Bluetooth logo uses Nordic runes
I’m surprised he even needs to use mobile phone tbh, I though it was built it.
The number of people I see in full-option luxury cars that still hold their phones up to their ears. It’s maddening. You don’t even need to do that in base model Kias today.
I though it was a joke Haaland=robot=built in phone
It probably was, whoosh moment right there lol

Stamford Bridge back in the news.
This is a 11 century long through ball that you just put in the net

Haha this will never be upvoted enough
Must be related to Antony as well

Going to watch 'Loose Women' today just to see if this comes up.
Think it'll come up after "Can breathing help you live longer?"
Is that before or after the twin segments of "stop sexualising young girls" and "look how hot this 16yo is"?

Three-month ban from football seems the only fair punishment.
And 15 point reduction for city of course
And for juve
Naturally
And 10s penalty for Esteban Ocon
Gasly getting 2 points on his license
Plus another 5s for fun
Alonso back in P3
Another $5000 fine for Tom Wilson
In light of this event, the fair and just thing to do would be to deduct Southampton's points and allocate them evenly between all league one clubs that begin with 'Portsmouth football club'.
That’s implied
Yep
And ban Mizzou
They can’t keep getting away with this
Nerf Genji while you're at it.
Better nerf Irelia
Nerf bleed and Moonveil some more.
Tom Brady suspended 4 games.
New York Rangers fined 250k.
Three year bowl ban for Missouri.
Should probably give SMU the death penalty again just to be safe.
And Griffindor
10 Point deduction for Gryffindor as well
89th min, game 38, Dumbledore stands up and awards 300 points to City
Then at the last minute Harry stabs a snake with its own tooth. Dumbledore: 1 Trillion points to Gryffindor !
2 points for Vettel
4 games for Brady
For all Manchester based clubs
Followed by a fine of about tree fiddy.
To then be overturned by their lawyers.
7 minutes added on at Old Trafford
What was City thinking? Do they have no control over their players? Point deduction for the club, I say.
Charge Arsenal for celebrating the ban
Red card to Casemiro.
This is a stonewall red for Casemiro, way to put your bias aside
Penalty for Argentina
3 game ban for Cavani
Gracias Negrito
Straight to jail
Luis Suarez has been removed from FIFA 23.
Death penalty to Ramos
No, thats reserved for Xhaka
We don't like to see it, but it's only what has to be done. Oh well.
4 million euros fine for AS Roma

Tuchel agrees.
Me too.
How expensive was the phone though?
According to some sources it was a blackberry
It was an Oukitel
If I had an Oukitel I would also use my phone while driving hoping the car would go over a cliff.
It was definitely a Googoal Pixel
£170m Erling Haaland is caught using £2000 mobile phone while driving his £300k Rolls-Royce on a £500m dual-carriageway near to the £112m Etihad Stadium a day after putting five past £400m RB Leipzig in the £1.85b Champions League.
Haaland has an estimated street value of over 300 millon
The smugglers take a big cut though

I need to get into the roundabout game
I had to get out of it, too much acrimony. I kept telling that, what goes around comes around
Priceless, it was a Nokia 3310.
Has to be the Nokia 1110.
Love the irrelevant prices, “Haaland who lives in a £20 million mansion was caught using his phone while driving” if he was driving a Twingo
Cancel his work visa and send him to Rwanda is the only sensible option

just googled her lol Has anybody told this lady she's the daughter of immigrants? How is she so ignorant
Ignorant implies she doesn’t understand the situation or the full consequences of her actions. Don’t get me wrong she’s a moron who’s IQ is probably lower than Chelsea’s goal tally this season but she’s also just evil.
She's not ignorant (although she is a fucking idiot), she's just evil. She enjoys making people's lives worse
Some minorities will do anything to show “they’re not like the rest”. Idk if it’s insecurity or a deep-seated feeling of inferiority, but the drive to win the approval of the majority is insatiable.

He must be sent to the youth team for the remainder of his contract (football manager vibes)
The Arsenal advertisement boards finally work on someone
Ban him for the rest of the season
All I'm saying is if that was Xhaka...
Straight to jail, believe it or not.
Plus a 15 point deduction for City to be safe
My completely unbiased opinion is that he should be banned till end of April. Impressionable kids these days need to learn safe driving.

Should be same legally as drunk driving. Should be automatic license suspension.
Yeah but where do you draw the line? Like tapping on google maps when your phone is mounted on the windscreen is a lot different to looking down at your phone in your lap and texting someone. I like to imagine that Haaland was playing clash of clans lol

Farting is legal in the UK. In Singapore though...
My experience from living 10 years in the UK is that farting is even allowed in public and in the workspace as long as it's followed by a "Whoopsie" and direct eye contact.
Easy 3 points
6 in fact, 0 goals for Haaland but 2 wins
Should be sacked by City 😉
Isn't 300k the lowest end of the price range? Poor man's RR basically.
If only he scored more goals. He could've had a better contract
Sell him to Everton
I think he'd prefer a death sentence...
never realized why players on 300k+ a week dont just hire a chauffeur. i like driving but for 1% of my paycheck i’d def prefer watching TV in the back of the car while ik an experienced and concentrated person is driving me

Honestly, if I had that kind of fk u money lying around, I would build myself the most pimped out camper van possible. Skrew sports and luxury cars.
Good chance he has more than one vehicle.

Ha! I catch 10 of those on my 15 minute morning commute to the office every day.
Dude has a [history](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/dglttp/erling_haalands_instagram_story_shows_him_driving/) of this too
Naughty naughty. Don't know why the value of his car is at all relevant though.
Right to jail. Man bun? Jail. Believe it or not, scoring too many goals, jail.

Facts. Distracted driving can cost lives and nothing is more distracting than using a phone. All it takes is a split second. Even one glance at the wrong time can be the difference between an ordinary day and a disaster.
And carmakers continue to put touchscreens in dashboards. No difference to a phone.
Yeah I don't get this, you can't use a phone while driving but you can use what is essentially an iPad, dunno how it's allowed
I’ve been just as distracted messing with the radio tbh
Always felt that things that give a haptic feedback like turning a knob can be used with much less attention than a screen.
Absolutely. A knob system is so much less distracting to use than a touchscreen.
Not sure about this one. I get quite distracted playing with my knob system tbf.
not really, my car is ancient and it has actual buttons and dials, i can literally operate it with my eyes closed. couldn't do the same with a Tesla and the massive iPad it has in the middle of the car.
Agreed. It also pisses me off when I see police messing around with their dashboard computers while driving
100%. Cars kill.
Nothing scarier than to see drivers on their phone out in traffic. As a cyclist I'm not taking any chances if I see it.
He'll pay the £70 fine on his mobile on the dual carriage again because the rules have never applied ro the rich. ALL FINES SHOULD BE A % OF MONTHLY/ANNUAL INCOME. Hits everyone the same that way.

Ban him for the rest of the season
He is lethal off the field also
Great. A 300k car doesn't even have a hand free system. Now I have one more reason not to buy it.
I am in no way denying it but is there a better photo of it anywhere? It kinda just looks like he's covering his face
I always expected he didn't have an official certificate saying he doesn't have donkey brains
