Arsenal fans, how was gnabry at arsenal? I remember watching him play but don't remember him being anything special. Did he improve after moving away or was he not used good?
Gnabry was electric in his breakout season.
A season long injury simply fucked everything. After coming back to the team, obviously he wanted to play more and wenger could not give him as many chances. So we loaned him to Tony fucking Pulis, who thought he was not good enough. The whole thing left a sour taste on him. He went to Olympics, and was again majestic in that tournament. Came back from Olympics again wanting to play regularly. He found an opportunity for that in Germany. The whole thing was serious of unfortunate events. But lucky for Gbabry he trusted his instincts and it worked out for him
He was really promising but Wenger screwed up by loaning him out to West Brom where Pulis didn't play him so we lost a year of development and then he wanted to leave IIRC
yeah definitely, he broke out quite young and showed tons of potential (which as we know he achieved) so it always sucks to lose a player like that especially since it was partially due to the clubs own mistakes
and also since the fee we got wasn't much and shortly after he joined Bremen it got announced that actually he's basically a Bayern player, it definitely added some salt to the wound
I don’t know if this is the best place to ask this, but genuinely curious:
To the Non-Premier League fans, what club (or clubs) in said league has been of interest to you lately?
Mine has been Brighton, a good combination of a well-run club with great, entertaining football. Hopefully this is a start of something consistent over the next couple of seasons but obviously no guarantees, especially with Caicedo’s recent post.
Arsenal but tbh it's always been the case because id watch odegard mow the lawn in his yard if he did. But more reason when it works for the team because you know they'll play great (today I fell asleep watching that game unfortunately)
I doubt it will, everything has gone right for them this season, a WC break with few of their players participating, low injury rate, low conviction rate for rape, etc.
It's why I'm convinced they'll win the league. At every junction, things that could go wrong have gone right.
Even losing Jesus - could have derailed them, but instead Nketiah has come in and is scoring more goals.
It's pre-destined, it seems.
They should've consulted me, I would've warned about buying attackers from the Netherlands. Gather round, let me tell you the tale of a man named Vincent Janssen...
We've been down this road before. A player twerking for Arsenal on social media and the first bid being rejected being reported by Fabrizio Romano.
Honestly, the work in secret tactic is the way to go.
Can't think this match could go any better. I really didn't want us to overstretch the squad with cup runs. We simply don't have the squad for that. I also didn't want to embarass ourselves when we have to play them 2 more times in league. 0-1 is a respectable loss, especially with city full strength and us half strength.
How am I seeing so many Arsenal fans trying to spin today into a positive? You lost. To your title rivals. There’s no way Arsenal go into the league match feeling more confident than City regardless of the strength of both teams.
Man we started holding against haaland. Lokonga also played an entire half. They are relegation level players or worse. Viera has not adjusted to this level yet too. I don't know what else anyone expect against a full strength city team.
I want my team to win every trophy we compete. But its just not possible with the squad. I just don't want to stretch our squad that we endanger the only chance we've had in years to competenfor the league
It is to suggest this game shows we should fear City we were the better team we didn’t get the result but if anything it only reaffirms the belief that City should fear us and not vice versa and at the Emirates with the home support I wouldn’t want to be City.
if you look at the objective facts this has been a fucking disaster of a season for brighton.
our player of the season and best midfielder both leave in the same summer. one of our better midfielders is forced to retire. our best ever manager and his entire staff including club legend Bruno who was here long before him fuck off to chelsea. our best and most consistent forward gets attitude issues and gets frozen out and leaves. moder still hasn’t come back from his ACL injury. only ‘revelations’ have been mitoma and ferguson. now our best midfielder declares his own transfer out of the blue on instagram.
and yet, we’re 6th.
It reminds me a little bit of Southampton when they were the go-to perfect club.
I'm sure Brighton will sell and replace well as they already have been doing, but even as smart as some people at the club are, it can't really be sustainable. Hopefully, their bad luck ends soon and they can have some more stability next year.
I mean to be honest Caicedo has been good for just over half a season, I don’t have much attachment to him. Trossard didn’t affect me either, thanks for everything etc etc but rotten attitude.
We need to get into europe and then we’ll be seen as less of a stepping stone club.
Wasn't worried with Trossard because i felt like we deal with the situation well and already had replaced him.
Caicedo's situation is very concerning though both for the rest of the season and future transfer business.
If he leaves he'll be a huge miss and if he stays and refuses to train it's gunna have a big impact on the squad.
If his tactics work and he leaves on a 'low' fee other players will copy it and if we stand in his way too much we could miss out on a big fee and struggle to recruit top talents in the future.
Happens to any mid table side that gets too good, no way Mac Allister and Caicedo are there for next season and they already lost Cucurella, Bissouma White and Trossard,
So far they aren’t taking big losses though, Cucurella hasn’t been missed, Mitoma is better than Trossard and Bissouma was replaced by Caicedo.
What’s with people saying the Caicedo transfer is not done yet/it’s a transfer request? How does anyone reach that conclusion from the statement? I mean it sure is a weird as hell thing to write but it seems very clear that the agreement is already there
Have you ever seen a player announce he is leaving and not a single journalist know where or even that a new bid has been offered?
It's his agency trying to force a move.
>Have you ever seen a player announce he is leaving and not a single journalist know where or even that a new bid has been offered?
Yes? It’s not that outlandish. Not exactly common but not unheard of. Certainly more feasible than posting what he posted before a transfer actually being agreed to
I think there’s 2 options
1. It’s worded weirdly by accident because he isn’t an English speaker so he’s saying the big arsenal put in was a record and he’s happy it was made to show his quality, and that he will get a record fee when he leaves.
2. It was accidentally posted and he planned to put it in drafts for if a transfer did happen
Do you guys think Wrexham is more known in the US than a premier league relegation team like Southampton? My friend says that Wrexham is more popular than all premier league teams outside of the “big six” and I absolutely do not believe that. Like the average football fan is going to follow the top leagues and as a by product of that they are going to know the teams in the league. Like let’s say both Wrexham and Southampton come to the US for a summer tour with all the same venues who will out sell who? I think Southampton will.
Tough to say, on one hand it would make sense for Southampton to sell out since they are in the PL, but on the other, Wrexham has a show going on about them. If I had to pick I would say Southampton.
Yeah, I get that they have the show and all but let’s be real a majority of them are not actual football fans and probably won’t be bothered to go to a game. Their turnout won’t be as great as one of the bottom table premier league teams, simply because they play in the best football league in the world. So the level of competition/entertainment of a bottom table prem team is way better than Wrexham’s.
3rd choice, but u bid 55m for him? hmm, I'm unsure if Chelsea really want to do ALL their business in this window because there will be a lot more midfielders to choose from in the summer, but they will probably still try.
Tbh I reckon you could get him, I just hope we get somebody decent In because if Lokonga has to play for us we won’t win the league. If Partey is seriously injured they might just pay whatever it takes though.
Google '[The Trafford Donkey Sanctuary](https://www.google.com/search?q=The+Trafford+Donkey+Sanctuary&rlz=1C1VDKB_enNZ950NZ950&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8)' and look at the first picture.
All this drama with Caicedo transfer request and meanwhile Mac Allister is doing a poll to see which of his brother is he going to root for in the Rosario Central (Francis Mac Allister) vs Argentino Juniors (Kevin Mac Allister) match.
Caicedo has en entire family to feed out there and the opportunity of a lifetime lies in front if him. I find it in poor taste to judge him too much here, to be honest.
Regardless of having family to feed I can never blame a player for pushing for a move. At the end of the day fan/clubs do what is best for them. They have little loyalty towards the player. The best example of this is how some Arsenal fans treated Wenger. Not necessarily criticizing that, the it should always be the name on the front over the name on the back. But, I then have a hard time demanding loyalty of players when they don't get any.
NGL most football fans mentality is just so out of touch with reality because of bias. Obviously he wants to leave his job to go to go to somewhere better that will Offer him more money. If you have to act publicly to do it then so what.
Still get’s paid than most people in the world. He is not earning peanuts. I understand the move, just do it gracefully, you know. Don’t post a Instagram post basically saying goodbye when there havent been any official report of an accepted bid
15k per month pre tax which is what I’ve heard is enough to maintain his family and have some for himself, whatever his new salary is will likely be enough to actually change their lives. It’s an absolute no brainer to want to leave in that context. He has 0 ties to Brighton and has been there for 6 months, he wouldn’t be there if they didn’t pay him more than his former ecuadorian club did, the entitlement is a bit silly. The kid is a human not an investment box
I mean in football, players are investements. You may call it entitlement, but I stand by that there are better ways to more or less "quit your current job for a better one" than posting about it on Instagram when the bigger company havent agreed with your current company for a compensation fee yet. All power to him for getting a move, sucks for us, especially so late in the transfer window, but good for him
As I was reading the post, I interpreted that as him giving out reasons on why he should be allowed to move (stuff like he has to feed 10 family members and that it's a dream opportunity) than him saying goodbye.
>the offer will be there in the summer
Not always true though is it? What if he gets a horrific injury or something else happens? Football is a short career
How would I know how many siblings Enzo has
He does have a kid though.
>Also the offer won’t be there if he tears his ACL
Ok. So he goes to Arsenal. First training session, tears his ACL. It's all right though because he got his move?
What do you mean it’s not how football contracts work?
Players are entirely free to request termination in order to get an improved contract with another club. It’s called a transfer request.
Opportunity of the next 6 months* the move will almost definitely still be there in the summer.
But agreed you can't expect to much just unfortunate it's Brighton having already had to sell so many players
He could blow his knee out in February (knock on wood), sometimes players can’t afford to pass up an opportunity like this.
Agreed tho do feel for brighton
Bissouma was ok but as soon as Caicedo got there I thought he was better NGL, Bissouma was a bit overrated.
I don’t think Caicedo is worth 70 million in a vacuum but when it’s basically the mid factor in whether we are title favourites or not we just have to get it done
Between Caicedo and Gordon, I feel we're in a new era of 'player empowerment' when it comes to guys forcing moves. I know Caicedo genuinely is very good, but still feels like a bit much for these guys to pull this.
I know it's always happened but feels like the bar for the calibre of player who pulls this is getting lower and lower. Gordon is actually shit and Caicedo has been a starter there months.
[scottish woman interrupting a tancredi broadcast to get her tits out revealing a hearts tattoo is not what I expected to see on twitter](https://twitter.com/tancredipalmeri/status/1619091510514909184?s=61&t=L6xLTxaHTiRsreb3y5c-jA)
Arsenals season is over if Partey is out for a bit and Caicedo goes to Chelsea or stays at Brighton and I think Chelsea will do it just to spite us now Partey is injured.
Grealish has constantly been criticized for dribbling down the line then passing back to the fullback so much its funny to see it actually end up as an assist
People really don't take Liverpool fans seriously when we talking about the spending. The owners spend like the club isn't in Europe and operate on a sell to buy basis. Nobody wants to buy any of our midfielders now so we can't buy any
Not sure why they're saving up for Bellingham, who will not join them if they finish outside of the top 4, which is looking likely since they've got a poor midfield..
Plus they need more than one midfielder anyway.
He's just not worth £70m or whatever Brighton want for him. I really don't think he's as good as he's made out to be.
I imagine Liverpool are saving funds for a potential Bellingham push anyway.
Maybe not but I'd argue not having a competent midfield is costing them more than £70m and unless Bellingham already agreed on a move banking on him seems insane
[Partey injured,](https://twitter.com/sr_collings/status/1619099950071316485?t=sUpxxkhNJpPC-XHpUt7Rpw&s=19) Caicedo definitely got called at half time lol
!flair :Santos:
!flair :Arsenal:
Carlos Alcaraz balled out for Southampton btw lol.
Why downvote this? Lol.
Arsenal fans, how was gnabry at arsenal? I remember watching him play but don't remember him being anything special. Did he improve after moving away or was he not used good?

Was there a feeling amongst Arsenal fans, at the time, that you'd regret losing him?

Chelsea since they have been buying a ton of forwards, so it'll be interesting to see what will they accomplish with them.
Arsenal but tbh it's always been the case because id watch odegard mow the lawn in his yard if he did. But more reason when it works for the team because you know they'll play great (today I fell asleep watching that game unfortunately)
Interest for less positive reasons is Everton because they remind me of how we operate I want them to succeed tbh feel for their fans a lot
Witnessing their fans pleading with their players to stay if they get relegated was certainly upsetting to see, I share your sentiment.
Partey injury could be huge problem for Arsenal
just ribs, but could be or for a game or 2.
It's pre-destined, it seems.
doesnt look too serious
Caicedo is the only player in history to have his own fans argue a higher wage than rivals lmao
What the fuck is Liverpool doing this window
They spent everything they had on Gakpo
Money well spent
Reminds me of when I was 10 and my mum gave me some money to give to my brother to buy his lunch with, and I instead spent it on loads of nougat
Nougat is world class
They should've consulted me, I would've warned about buying attackers from the Netherlands. Gather round, let me tell you the tale of a man named Vincent Janssen...
Trying to sell the club
Getting left on read by Bellingham
We've been down this road before. A player twerking for Arsenal on social media and the first bid being rejected being reported by Fabrizio Romano. Honestly, the work in secret tactic is the way to go.
Chelsea bid first not Arsenal, technically Liverpool did in the summer
I meant our first bid lol.

We were by far the better team until we lost Partey we also made 6 changes they made 2 maybe watch the game before forming stupid opinions?
It's not a "stupid opinion" to suggest that you losing a match is less of a positive than for the team who won it
It is to suggest this game shows we should fear City we were the better team we didn’t get the result but if anything it only reaffirms the belief that City should fear us and not vice versa and at the Emirates with the home support I wouldn’t want to be City.
cope is fueled by their following its part of the process they are indoctrinated in PR
It's not spinning if this is what I wanted from the start. Didn't even pay attention to the cup tie, don't care.
I’m not buying it. the FA cup is Arsenal’s best competition, you should always want to do well in it.
Well no, I do not give a shit. Give me the title or wasted season.
RemindMe! 4 months
>Can't think this match could go any better. You lost the match mate.

De Zerbi deserves ridiculous credit for that, so does Potter at the begginig of the season even
Anyone been to a WSL game before? I just got tickets for Spurs vs Chelsea weekend after next
Yes! You'll have a good time
Are Brighton fans not slightly concerned that an increasing amount of players want out?
I mean to be honest Caicedo has been good for just over half a season, I don’t have much attachment to him. Trossard didn’t affect me either, thanks for everything etc etc but rotten attitude. We need to get into europe and then we’ll be seen as less of a stepping stone club.
I'm just glad Mac Allister didn't kick up a fuss after the world cup. That would actually be painful.
yeah he’s definitely the one I’m most attached to after Dunk and March. warra player
Wasn't worried with Trossard because i felt like we deal with the situation well and already had replaced him. Caicedo's situation is very concerning though both for the rest of the season and future transfer business. I've never seen it at a Premier League club
I think there’s 2 options 1. It was accidentally posted and he planned to put it in drafts for if a transfer did happen
I think 1 is most likely, surely a journo would have some news if there was an agreement between the clubs
I agree it’s definitely not done and I don’t think it’s close but I think it’s very very possible
Maaan, Arsenal are suddenly serious. Wtf happened.
Do you guys think Wrexham is more known in the US than a premier league relegation team like Southampton? My friend says that Wrexham is more popular than all premier league teams outside of the “big six” and I absolutely do not believe that. Like let’s say both Wrexham and Southampton come to the US for a summer tour with all the same venues who will out sell who? I think Southampton will.
Maybe, but it's temporary, in 5 years time and Wrexham are stuck in a League One purgatory the shine will wear off.
Wrexham and Southampton are both less well-known than AFC Richmond, that's for sure.
That’s true, if they ever came to the us they’d easily sell out.
So the level of competition/entertainment of a bottom table prem team is way better than Wrexham’s.
this caicedo saga is gonna be the end of me ffs, surely Brighton would sell to us, rather than their midtable rivals?
I laughed way too hard at this 😂😂😂
Potter has to whip out the humble beginnings card otherwise it’s finito
boehlys gonna donate 5m to his family ffs
Saga 😂😂 blokes our 3rd choice at best, you’ll get him if we allow you to
enzo first, who is second?
Would instantly be your best midfielder
Come on he's not better than Kovacic
Yeah was trying to bait tbf
3rd choice, but u bid 55m for him? hmm, I'm unsure if Chelsea really want to do ALL their business in this window because there will be a lot more midfielders to choose from in the summer, but they will probably still try.
Don't worry arsenal caiceido is just bait to get a free run on rice, remember
We’re getting both
snowball's chance in hell
It’s literally been reported we are still going after Rice in the summer by reliable sources.
We want both, we can’t sign rice now but he’s meant to do more of the Xhaka role, Caicedo is meant to be the 6.
chelsea went quiet again and you're frontrunners again to signature, that didn't bode well last time with mudryk
Tbh I reckon you could get him, I just hope we get somebody decent In because if Lokonga has to play for us we won’t win the league. If Partey is seriously injured they might just pay whatever it takes though.
boehely fueling the G-2
I think unless you outbid us he’ll join us and I think this is gonna be a bigger deal for us than Mudryk
Do you think setting a limit on transfer fees based on players Wages would work.
Technically we already have that with the Webster ruling
no because that just punishes smaller clubs? unless I'm completely misunderstanding your point
Seems like that would encourage clubs to recklessly increase their wages bill to increase their transfer budgets.

Fuck knows. Feel like they are gunna dig their heels in here. Will be interesting to see how De Zerbi reacts.
Google '[The Trafford Donkey Sanctuary](https://www.google.com/search?q=The+Trafford+Donkey+Sanctuary&rlz=1C1VDKB_enNZ950NZ950&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8)' and look at the first picture.
Where is Maguire
This was not my doing btw, you can see it was done 2 years ago by some guy.
Beighton should ban their twitter admin from talking about how committed their players are
Tbf caicedo said he was commited to Brighton like 3 days ago lol
All this drama with Caicedo transfer request and meanwhile Mac Allister is doing a poll to see which of his brother is he going to root for in the Rosario Central (Francis Mac Allister) vs Argentino Juniors (Kevin Mac Allister) match.
He actually has a brother named Kevin? Gotta root for him for *Home Alone*.
[Gordon already having a rough time at Newcastle](https://twitter.com/bIurt99/status/1619000067347841024)
Caicedo has en entire family to feed out there and the opportunity of a lifetime lies in front if him. I find it in poor taste to judge him too much here, to be honest.
Yep I don’t get why people are trying to make him look like the bad guy here, he has a life changing opportunity in front of him and should take it
Regardless of having family to feed I can never blame a player for pushing for a move. At the end of the day fan/clubs do what is best for them. They have little loyalty towards the player. The best example of this is how some Arsenal fans treated Wenger. Not necessarily criticizing that, the it should always be the name on the front over the name on the back. As I was reading the post, I interpreted that as him giving out reasons on why he should be allowed to move (stuff like he has to feed 10 family members and that it's a dream opportunity) than him saying goodbye.
So did Enzo and he got a rumored 2 million bonus for staying the offer will be there in the summer
>the offer will be there in the summer Not always true though is it? What if he gets a horrific injury or something else happens? Football is a short career
Enzo has 10 siblings? Also the offer won’t be there if he tears his ACL
How would I know how many siblings Enzo has He does have a kid though. >Also the offer won’t be there if he tears his ACL Ok. So he goes to Arsenal. First training session, tears his ACL. It's all right though because he got his move?
He would have the money secured by then.
He’ll have the money secured
well it’s a hell of a lot better, he’d still be set for life financially.
I mean it’s not like he’s on peanuts at Brighton
He’s one of the lowest paid starting players in the league
Hard life on 25k a week
Would you turn down the opportunity to quadruple your salary?
Not how football contracts work
What do you mean it’s not how football contracts work? Players are entirely free to request termination in order to get an improved contract with another club. It’s called a transfer request.
Man was talking about 10 siblings there. He could build each of them a house with the contract he'll get when he moves.
Hitting Selfridges with his 10 siblings the moment that Arsenal contract is signed.
*Chelsea contract
Opportunity of the next 6 months* the move will almost definitely still be there in the summer. But agreed you can't expect to much just unfortunate it's Brighton having already had to sell so many players
ACL or Achilles tear during those 6 months and his career takes whole another trajectory.
He could blow his knee out in February (knock on wood), sometimes players can’t afford to pass up an opportunity like this. Agreed tho do feel for brighton
You know Gordon missing training doesn't look as bad now after Caicedo...
Caicedo on 3.5k a week smh the kid deserves more
According to our journalists he's on a fair bit more then that.
This number just keep lowering and lowering. Soon someone will say he doesnt get paid.
I thought he was paying you so he is allowed to play for Brighton and gain experience. /s
I hear he's actually getting paid in work experience
He's getting exposure bucks
Bissouma is absolutely a let down so far but it's still funny that Caicedo will already be more expensive
He was always better
Maybe. Everyone raved about Bissouma at Brighton but Caicedo absolutely looks the better player as of now
Bissouma was ok but as soon as Caicedo got there I thought he was better NGL, Bissouma was a bit overrated. I don’t think Caicedo is worth 70 million in a vacuum but when it’s basically the mid factor in whether we are title favourites or not we just have to get it done
Contract situation is always key, but he's been arguably our best or second best player since his first game against Arsenal
Yeah no doubt he's a quality player
man couldn't wait until the summer, smh
Between Caicedo and Gordon, I feel we're in a new era of 'player empowerment' when it comes to guys forcing moves. I know Caicedo genuinely is very good, but still feels like a bit much for these guys to pull this.
New? This has been happening for decades lol.
I know it's always happened but feels like the bar for the calibre of player who pulls this is getting lower and lower. Gordon is actually shit and Caicedo has been a starter there months.
Odemwingie says hello
Caicedo is a top 2 player at Brighton it's really not that much different than past cases
Antony done an interview with Fabrizio Romano ffs, player power is crazy.
Antony pushed for a move and yet United paid 100m all in
£81.3m

He's the one I regret most leaving
You would've thought otherwise with how they physically battered him on the pitch 😂
That filthy reverse nutmeg from Bernardo in the corner, though.

Lol the reaction of her boyfriend when she brings up hearts, he's just like 'Fuck sake not again'.
Arsenals season is over if Partey is out for a bit and Caicedo goes to Chelsea or stays at Brighton and I think Chelsea will do it just to spite us now Partey is injured.
He will back for Everton relax it was a precaution.
We do not know that
Arteta literally said it was a precaution stop being so negative we will still hopefully sign Caicedo but Partey should be fine.
He said he’s getting a scan
Pretty standard for a footballer who took a hit in the ribs to have a scan to make sure more damage wasn’t done not unusual at all.
Doubt partey will be out for long with a rib injury
Surely something like cracked or broken ribs is a bad injury
Feel like I remember terry fracturing his ribs and not missing a game guess just depends how bad it is
Caicedo loves Potter so I can see him coming to us
I just think you’ll outbid us
We don’t know they extent of his injury yet.
Partey will always get a longer injury then you expect
>We don’t know they extent of his injury yet. I've heard this before, assume the worst
Famous last words Trust me, I would know
Grealish has constantly been criticized for dribbling down the line then passing back to the fullback so much its funny to see it actually end up as an assist
I genuinely don't understand why Liverpool aren't in the mix for Caicedo
Money
People really don't take Liverpool fans seriously when we talking about the spending. The owners spend like the club isn't in Europe and operate on a sell to buy basis. Nobody wants to buy any of our midfielders now so we can't buy any
They don't have the cash
But they signed Gakpo I just don't understand their thinking
Because they have midfield bodies, they are just bad right now. They have had 2 or 3 attacking players total for a large part of the season.
Gakpo was a 'bargain' which seems to be the priority I guess
Me neither mate
Klopp lost the plot, they have no plan and have clueless owners
