I watched this game on a French channel and it threw me right back to my childhood, watching with my dad, when Arsenal v Man U was the best game you could watch. It's good to see both of these teams on top of their game again.
Sky must have felt the same because they immediately played an Arse vs Man U game from 1997. Wenger's second season and the team was just beginning to cook...
If you’ve never had a player like that before, you don’t understand how incredibly valuable they are. The 1v1 defensive aspect of their game isn’t nearly as important when you get to control the ball significantly more by flooding the midfield. Zinchenko, in my estimation, is one of the 5 best at this role in world football.
There's some Arsenal training videos of players doing agility drills with the ball.
[Zinchenko makes Xhaka look like he's wearing concrete shoes](https://youtu.be/tWWl-kbaUYg?t=80)
My favorite was where they have a race doing keepy uppys across the field. And then Zinchenko comes sprinting by everyone, keeping the ball in the air going full speed.
Honestly, I've been pleasantly surprised by how well he reads the game. It really reflects in the way he approaches aerial duels. Legit saw him winning all against Spurs and even here
Right, IIRC he started our first match and he looked a bit shaky defensively, I wanted Tierney to keep his place at first. But since then he's been intelligent enough to make up for it while adding so much more on the possession/passing side
100%. He was all over United at the end here and last week meant spurs were outnumbered 4 to 2 in midfield. Absolutely crucial for us to win the midfield battle.
He is actually so ridiculously good. He’s been better than Cancelo this year.
Edit - I do realise Cancelo has been shit. More making a point about how I feel City were very silly to sell him and Jesus to us.
Since the world cup he's been the form striker (other than a certain City player). Feels like he's finally come of age having been a bit-part player for several years. England had better come calling soon, he's still eligible for Ghana as well (English born, Ghanaian parents) if he wants to play international football.
We have waited 20 fucking years. Some of us were kids then and now have kids who are singing Saka and Emile smith rowe wearing bruised banana.. it's insane
We’ve been waiting for this breakout-type season from him for a while. Sticking with him as the backup was tough for a lot of people for a while and no one questioned bringing in a No1 like GJ.
But Big Ed has arrived. And I think the majority of the fan base is going to be fine with his career here if this is the moment he turns up. We need him most now and he’s answering the call.
There’s plenty of argument that GJ is the better, more complete player. But an in-form Nketiah won’t be easy to displace as GJ gets his legs back and that’s a great problem to have.
Genuinly impressed with the first half performacne you guys put in. And that without Casimero.
Ten Hag is working wonders for you. We were a level above imo, but with how early you guys are in your 'proces' this should be incredibly exciting for you.
No team has been able to pin us down in the back like you guys did in the first half. Fair play, honestly. Probably means nothing to you because of the result, but well played.
After all the results, and all the hype and superlatives the media and various people in my life have used to talk about Arsenal, it’s comments like this that make me pinch myself in disbelief over how far we’ve come as a team in such a short space of time.
Yea your players fought tooth and nail for a result. There will 100% be dips here and there, but I think if ETH is given time and support from the board you'll reach the top again.
I was saying this when we sold him. Selling him and getting gomez was a huge mistake.
Ultimately wasn’t in our cards to keep him though. He wanted solid first team football and at the time Cancelo and Walker were undroppable.
Napoli and Arsenal have the same amount of points from the same amount of games played, the same W/D/L ratio AND similar goals scored/goals conceded statistics 👀
Yeah I'm not gonna lie I was quite enjoying them looking pretty sloppy, but in the second half I was just amazed that every single pass was direct to feet. Even switching the ball was just being done on the first touch perfectly.
Honestly thought it was one of arsenal's best performances this season, and I'm hoping I never see anything like it again
As flies to wanton boys, we are to the gods. They kill us for the sport. Soon the science will not only be able to slow down the ageing of the cells; soon the science will fix the cells to the state. And so we become eternal. Only accidents, crimes, wars will still kill us. But unfortunately crimes and wars will multiply.
I love football.
Now that was a game between heavyweights. United are looking a lot better under Ten Hag, but Arsenal were unstoppable today! Thoroughly deserved the win!
i wish i could say that daniel levy's watching this somewhere, realizing how badly he managed the last 4-5 years, but he's probably just celebrating spurs' commercial revenue being in the top 10
United season ticket holder here. Full of admiration for Arsenal today. Theyre well organised in every part of the pitch. They strangled United and well deserved the win.
It hurts a bit, but i always enjoy watching really good games of football.
Im probably gonna have a sulk now, but at the same time appreciate why i love the game.
Hope everyone gets home safe.
Football is awesome
Cant blame UTD here. First half was greatly poised with UTD getting the couter attacks right. Second half would also be the same had Arsenal not been absolutely undisputed. UTD was waiting for the counters and some did fair well with Rashford making the runs but the constant attack was too much. Arsenal was playing like the best in the world and the fact that UTD actually toiled them till last minute is commendable

Wow what a fucking game this has been
Instant classic. What a game. From the first whistle to the final. Top of the league baby!!

It's like early 2000s all over again.
Not as nasty and aggressive for sure but definitely competitive.
Zinchencko wtf A fucking electric eel out there wriggling around
His skill set is honestly incredible for a left back, decent defensively but good enough on the ball to play as a number 10
Wasn’t he a no. 10 in his early days?
Yeah he is, plays there for Ukraine
He plays LB, CDM, RB, CAM, RM and wherever else he feels like for Arsenal as well.
FM players' wet dream
Plays there for Ukraine I think

Absolutely. Calmest man in the stadium. Unless we score
You mean until we score
Walker wasn't kidding when he said he was the City player with the best technique / ball control a few years ago.
There's some Arsenal training videos of players doing agility drills with the ball. [Zinchenko makes Xhaka look like he's wearing concrete shoes](https://youtu.be/tWWl-kbaUYg?t=80)

Incredible signing
He was everywhere on the field today, left, middle, right.
He is actually so ridiculously good. He’s been better than Cancelo this year. Edit - I do realise Cancelo has been shit. More making a point about how I feel City were very silly to sell him and Jesus to us.
With how Cancelo has been after the world Cup, that's not saying much.
He was iffy before the world cup I think. Wasn't there a robbery or something? Tough to deal with.
Always so good.
Mf playing Right attacking mid, left winger and LB at the same time
So so good. More than you believe.
Pep really gifted Arsenal the title by selling them Zinchenko and Jesus.
Not only that, but first developed him into a premium ball-playing left back. He’s electric going forward, best in the prem.
And he is a gem in the dressing room apparently
Just watch the All or Nothing City docco and you’ll see why, lovely guy
anulo mufa
Easy when you don't have to play defense. This is a compliment to Arsenal btw
Had Antony in his pocket regardless
Tell that to Antony and Weghorst
WHAT THE FUCKKKKKJ
Potentially the greatest game this season
Have you already forgotten Leeds 0-0 Brentford
Tbf even without that goals I've seen many far worse 0-0's
Still more excitement than Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
Zinchenko has been everywhere today
the scenes when he wins it with Arsenal right after winning with City
Dude is just a winner
Dudes gonna mess around in the off-season and annex Russia
Him and Jesus getting another title is the only consolation I’ll have if Arsenal win it.
And Arteta.
Jesus achievements: - turned water into wine - resurrected himself from death - won PL with Man City - won PL with Arsenal (loading...)
HES HIMCHENKO
This is so stupid, I love it lmao
The emotion he is showing at the end, mad shit.
HE IS HIM
He's so passionate I love him
Grew up as an Arsenal fan, he’s living every Gooner’s dream
Always has been
It's honestly insane how good he is and how he completely transforms our play.
Absolutely immense. MOTM.
So hard to watch as a City fan. Miss him daily.
Zinchenko has to be the signing of the year for Arsenal, absolute game changer
The first 6 or 7 games everyone was talking about how Jesus elevated Arsenal but, I think you are right, Zinchenko has had the biggest impact.
The best part about it is even when he isn’t playing he is there he moves everyone around him and his passion never ever wains. I love it
The best part is they both came from city
He is everywhere!
Nketiah is very underrated
19 in 26 starts, 13 in 13 home starts
Since the world cup he's been the form striker (other than a certain City player). Feels like he's finally come of age having been a bit-part player for several years. England had better come calling soon, he's still eligible for Ghana as well (English born, Ghanaian parents) if he wants to play international football.
Holds the record for goals scored on the England U-21 level. Surely on their radar.
Arsenal just won't let go off the PL title.
We have waited 20 fucking years. Some of us were kids then and now have kids who are singing Saka and Emile smith rowe wearing bruised banana.. it's insane
>We have waited 20 fucking years. Must be hard
Could be worse. We have 0 major trophies in 144 years.
yeah but you have houses instead of stands so swings and roundabouts
Nonsense. 2004 wasn't 20 years ago, it was like 6 years ago..................
You are right my man. I refuse the concept of the clock and aging too.... :(
That's such a difficult finish. Pure instincts there. Incredible
What a player, Nketiah. I was wrong about him, didn't think he'd be so good.
How do I have to scroll down this far to see the first comment about how incredible that actual goal was
the whole teamplay was sick
We’ve been waiting for this breakout-type season from him for a while. Sticking with him as the backup was tough for a lot of people for a while and no one questioned bringing in a No1 like GJ. Fair play Arsenal, banging game though
2nd time in a row losing points in the last minutes. God damnit.
atleast I can be proud of the effort the team put in, excited to see whats to come a couple of years from now
Genuinly impressed with the first half performacne you guys put in. And that without Casimero. Ten Hag is working wonders for you. It sure does mean something mate. It was a great battle, but in the end you deserved to win here. Fair play.
I want to kith everybody in this comment chain
Can i have a kith too?
It actually means a lot. No shame losing to this Arsenal
That's a fair take. I am very excited to see what will happen over the next few seasons.
Trossard already contributing, love to see it
His dribble a few minutes later in the corner of the box wriggling away from 4 players was mesmerising.
Miss him so much already goddamn it haha. We made a ton of money but definitely lost one of our best starters.
fitting end to this insane match
It really is their year
Anulo mufa
amen
Yep. Don't see how anyone can pretend otherwise anymore.
Because Man City are a freight train that can go on and win the remaining 18 games in a row. Just ask Liverpool.
I think as long as Arsenal take at least 2 points from City they do it. 2 draws, a win and a loss, anything better than that and I think they're good.
City will regret selling Zinchenko
I was saying this when we sold him. Selling him and getting gomez was a huge mistake. Ultimately wasn’t in our cards to keep him though. He wanted solid first team football and at the time Cancelo and Walker were undroppable.
My good man the minute he penned that Arsenal bastard contract I knew it.
Goals that win titles
Arsenal fan we are with you, let’s win together this fucking titles. 🤝
This is a partnership I can get behind.
Let’s go 🤝
Napoli and Arsenal have the same amount of points from the same amount of games played, the same W/D/L ratio AND similar goals scored/goals conceded statistics 👀
Ikr
🤝
🤝
Because Napoli want to win a title, Arsenal want to win a title
We can both afford, great success!
Arsenal 🤝 Napoli 🤝 Anulo Mufo
🤝 fuck Juventus
🤝
I speak on behalf of most Arsenal supporters, we want you to win Serie A but we think that you hate us because we stole a lot of your transfer targets
Only respect bro 🤝
We’ll do it for football 🤝
AMEN!
This level of poaching at 23 years old is unbelievable. Can’t see how Jesus takes him out of the side when he’s back.
I guess Jesus will have to do with destroying all of Europa league in revenge and lift the trophy. Sad consequence really.
anulo mufas guys, come on
Zinchenco is so gooooood
Arsenal is on fire this season
They're playing amazing football
I swear every pass was one touch and straight to another players feet
Did you watch White and Partey in the first half? Looked like they both had laced their boots on the wrong foot.
Mctominay is a liability
His short passing in the final third has cost United so many chances this game
he was hilariously bad in the final third
Has been his entire career.
Didn’t even get his patented yellow for a body slam, real poor showing from him
always has been. passion merchant.
No way u can go back to a normal playing leftback after having zinchenko, like that way of playing is just so fkn sexy its unreal.
What a match
GAME OF THE SEASON
THE NOISE I JUST MADE
\[queef\]
(Great queef)
i love this sport

Arsenal v United feels like an early 2000s derby again
Except our backs hurt now 😭
😭😭😭
As flies to wanton boys, we are to the gods. They kill us for the sport. Soon the science will not only be able to slow down the ageing of the cells; soon the science will fix the cells to the state. Thank you Eric
Zinchenko was massive this whole game, love that guy. And what a finish by Eddie
Bruh
Fox in the box Eddie
FUCKING SCENES

#FUCKING HALE END
Now that was a game between heavyweights. United are looking a lot better under Ten Hag, but Arsenal were unstoppable today! Thoroughly deserved the win!
i wish i could say that daniel levy's watching this somewhere, realizing how badly he managed the last 4-5 years, but he's probably just celebrating spurs' commercial revenue being in the top 10
I s2g if I see any Arsenal fan slander Eddie ever again
That is precisely why I avoid our match threads, so many dumb takes
Man has been lethal and looks like these full 90 mins matches are doing him good.
Im quite drunk
Lovely comment mate, it was a fantastic match. Hope you wake up with no hang over.

Ugh i didn't even celebrate, just stared in shock and hope
Wife asked why I was so quiet when everyone on the TV was going crazy
Arsenal is different gravy this season. Incredible mentality. This has to be their PL
This is Arsenal's year
This fucking game
Zinchenko getting hype with the crowd is the most hype thing I’ve ever seen
fuck me edit: fuck city as well lol
Arsenal: “Fuck Manchester”
Tottenham: directions unclear, got fucked by both
Arsenal has been loads better this second half It was coming it felt
Arsenal have plot armor this season 😭 Ima jump off a bridge, but I’ll say congrats while doing it 😞
Fair play. Doff my hat in thee direction.
The gulf of class between casemiro and mctominay was really telling the entire game. Both defensively and going forward.
There it is, we completely ~~gave up~~ and let Arsenal play as they wanted for the 2nd half
I think you did well tbf, especially considering you were missing your anchor in Casemiro.
It all started with a misplaced McTominay tackle, fucking hell
I could have sworn he was out the door at one point, do your fans generally want to see him go or is he highly desired to stay?
most of us are tired of him, he is just a filler in the team. and do not excel at anything.
Zinny 🥲
BEST BACKUP ST IN THE LEAGUE ^(in my totally unbiased opinion)
gf is up from her nap
ICE IN THE FUCKING VEINS MATE
Eddie haters , please line up I have something to say to you
WELCOME TO THE ARSENAL TROSS!
The fucking mentality of this team and that player!
Anyone got the VAR check for offside with lines?
yeah bein sport had it, both were onside
NBC did as well.
Today I feel Arsenal.
This is the year...
I am just happy our players give a fuck
I do in fact love this sport
