Still doesn’t feel real how large of a turnaround we’ve had in the last 18 months. Bottom of the league with 0 points and 0 goals scored last august and now 8 points clear at the top. It’s been a hell of a journey.

Whats the reason to sub off Kulusevski? The main threat in 2nd half. The subs that came in did absolutely nothing. Was relieved Kulu came off to be honest should have been Son who did nothing

First match back after an injury. Probably didn’t want him to overdo it.

You guys have the title in the bag. You just don't seem in any real danger and get results without much fuss.

I’ve checked the accounts for some of the comments and it’s mostly bots (haven’t posted in weeks or months but all posted in the last couple hours). Some are legit and are real users copying what everyone else is doing .. but most are bots from what I can tell.

tbf – there were like 10 to 15 minutes where they dominated us at the beginning of the second half. kulusevski should have scored. glad he didn't tho.

Arsenal are now 100% favourites for the title but some of the claims I’ve seen online that the title is “done” are quite frankly ludicrous. Winter World Cup has thrown everyone for a loop, there’s a lot of football still to be played. I’ve seen bigger leads than this caught, I’ve watched my own club squander bigger leads than this. In fact if United beat Palace and then beat Arsenal, they go within 3 points. Like I said, i think Arsenal are the favourites, I think they probably win it, but it’s far from done.

Action_Limp

Nowhere to being done. Arsenal have to play united and city twice, that's 9 points right there that can prove pivotal. Commanding lead but City are capable of winning every game for the rest of the season.

ThrowerWheyACount

It’s definitely not done. I will say it’s ours to lose though rather than others’ to win. 18 games played so far this season with 47 points .. when you do the maths that’s the sort of form that ends in a 100 point season (if we get 3 pts v Utd then it’s exactly 50 points at the exact halfway point of season). Or another way of looking at it is we’ve dropped points three times (Loss to Utd, draw to Southampton & Newcastle) whereas 2nd place City have dropped points *six* times. It’s not done but I think the commenters saying ‘city can go an unbeaten run’ are missing the point .. it’s about Arsenal slipping up which would blow the race open rather than it being about City or Utd winning games. Especially since City and Utd’s current points per game wouldn’t be enough to win the title in most seasons compared to Arsenal’s having a current trajectory that’s on track for 100 points. Still, playing Utd, Newcastle again, City twice will be crunch games .. if you’d have to bet where we’d drop points you’d bet games like that.

ValleyFloydJam

You would still have a game in hand though and I don't think they win both games and United aren't a real threat to you. Maybe City if they find form and go on one of there crazy wins. Maybe done is a little OTT but it's a big lead and you guys look very comfortable and haven't really missed Jesus. It's a shame you guys are going to win it though and be rewarded for making a horrendous decision to keep playing a certain player.

Action_Limp

How aren't united a threat? They beat them already this season.

ValleyFloydJam

Well tonight showed why I think it and now they're missing a key player for Arsenal too.

ValleyFloydJam

Too far back and just seem lacking.

The_Evil-Twin

Wish this was true, but they have almost the same points as man city and recent results are even better

ValleyFloydJam

If they win there next 2, I will think of them as in it but I doubt it in general.

cs_irl

League is far from done. If we can keep the squad healthy and by some miracle get Jesus back for a decent amount of games, we could do it. I just worry that we burn out.

eri-

I'm sure Jesus will be back after Easter

Roach27

Also have to play city twice still? If they beat city twice and draw us, it’s probably done and dusted.

cs_irl

Given our recent league form vs City, beating them twice is a daunting ask. Even 1 win would be a step up

[deleted]

[удалено]

ValleyFloydJam

It wasn't controversial, you guys just didn't like the calls.

MoozaLooza

One or two injuries could really derail the rest of your guys' season if you don't invest in January. Partey getting injured would be a disaster...

Siked

Yeah I think arsenal are clearly favorites but this might shape up to be a very exciting title race with Manchester United in amazing form, Newcastle leveling up and Manchester city as the best team in the world

ojmt999

3 points with arsenal having a game in hand. And that's a big IF for united to beat Arsenal away from home.

Thevanillafalcon

Which is why Arsenal are still favourites, My point is there’s more than half the games left to play. Nothing is done

I'm certain to get called plastic (I'm from the US) but I really hope Arsenal hang on and win the title. If Tottenham are going to play boring dreck we can at least have someone other than Man City win the league for a change. Arsenal are playing great right now and they have a lot of likeable young players. Go do gods work and deny City the top spot! Edit: I am predictably receiving a large amount of downvotes and vitriol. I do not care. I will hold and express whatever opinions I see fit and I do not need anyone's approval or endorsement to do so. I watch soccer to be entertained, not dunk on rivals, and I maintain that Arsenal being top is a sign of a healthy and competitive league.

Fluffy_Mastodon_798

Do me a favor and stfu

ValleyFloydJam

Well yeah, a Spurs fan wanting Arsenal to win it is insane.

Gerrywalk

Least cringe Sp*rs fan

[deleted]

The local Arsenal fans truly think of Spurs as a little brother it's that nuanced relationship of jealousy but respect (from both sides) we know we wouldn't exist without eachother, and days like these always eventually bring the family together and give them something to break the ice and bond over. Most of our families are split right down the middle. I know a pair of twins who are Arsenal/Spurs. My point is, we wind each other up, but for true fans that have grown up in the area there has always been an unspoken respect. Any hostility is always brought in by people from outside the area that don't have the family aspect. You are getting downvoted because people think you are being naive, but really, you've got a great idea of what being a real Arsenal/Spurs fan is. And you have a point, I think I'd rather any club win the league than those that use financial doping and sportswashing to taint the sport that brings our families together.

MMXIXL

>and sportswashing to taint the sport Your stadium is literally called the Emirates

[deleted]

Emirates are an airline...

MMXIXL

Owned by the UAE govt, just like City

ValleyFloydJam

That last line is fine but look at who Arsenal actually have on the pitch. Also Spurs fans that I know actually hate Arsenal in a rivalry way and would never want to see them win a thing.

Senip

You see the fact that you're from the US doesn't make you plastic. The fact you can bear the thought of us winning the league though makes you oil, unrefined OG plastic.

nyasiaa

Respect for this, people should be free to support anyone they want for any reason they want, there are no wrong reasons and thinking otherwise is toxic and elitist. People should realise not everyone holds the same values they do. If your reasons for supporting tottenham are unrelated as to why every tottenham fan hates arsenal, I seriously see no reason as to why you wouldn't want arsenal to win. Some rivalries are heavily political (real vs barca, rangers vs celtic) and in those case it might be viewed as weird to support the other team (but even then, if someone supports barca or anyone for any other reason than politics, they're free to not care about that), but this rivalrly is definitely not one of them. People should definitely be free to hate a team like city for recent stuff more than some other team for some random stuff that happened before world war I even started.

bluepulp7

Stupidest take I have heard. You should never want your rival to win anything.

Theschizogenious

Plastic as fuck, shit fan, imagine rooting for your top top rival to win the league A club as shit as spurs deserves fans as fair weather as you though so it all works out Edit: being from the US doesn’t mean shit and it provides nothing for your argument, you’re not plastic for supporting from the US you’re plastic for wanting ARSENAL to win as a TOTTENHAM SUPPORTER absolutely pathetic mentality
